Personally, I value this place because Yumy Gurt frequently switches out a couple of their frozen yogurt flavors at about every three (3) days. Part of this menu maintains the common flavors such as, Vanilla and Chocolate. The other part of this menu will surprise your taste buds. Yumy Gurt has featured special and limited-time flavors such as Red Velvet Cake, Snickers, Peanut Butter, Banana, Mango Sorbet, Watermelon Sorbet, Apple Pie, Green Apple, Pistachio, and so on. These flavor change outs have made me a frequent (and loyal) customer here! You just never know what to expect. I do love the unpredictability here :) And don't let the name of this place fool you! It's excellent. I think it's family owned and the whole family works there but they are all super nice and accommodating. That even applies to door dash. It's also across from Pinole Valley Shopping Center, and down the street from the Pinole Valley High School. I was in town for a Yelp Elite Event, and fellow Elite Annie L. recommended Yumy Gurt. They have a shared parking lot, but it appeared cramped so I parked on the street. It was a warm Sunday in Pinole, and the shop was a little busy with kids getting ice cream cones. Okay, I'm only interested in frozen yogurt, aka "fro-yo." The gentleman politely asked for my order, and I said.... Chocolate/Vanilla Swirl (Twist Combo), Small, with Lychee Jelly. ($4.45 + $1.00= $5.45) The non-fat choco/vanilla swirl was not too sweet, but had a good flavor. Not too chalky, with a slight tart taste. The lychee jelly was a generous serving for $1.00, and offered a unique texture and taste. Even though it's frozen yogurt, it didn't stand up well to the near 80*F temps. Oh well, I took my fro-yo to go. There were only a few small tables inside, and no outside seating. That's the only neg about Yumi Gurt, not enough seating. If you only want frozen yogurt, with no toppings, you'll get better value at a full service place like Yumy Gurt. Jason has a rotation of weekly flavors of yogurt and classics to choose from. This place also has a variety of smoothies, milk tea, sundaes, and ice cream. You can also add toppings to your ice cream or yogurt if you wish. The shop is very small and has a few tables. Jason is a very friendly guy and I'm glad he has taken over the business. Honestly sad to say that I have lived up the street for a few years now and have only experienced the greatness this place has to offer a week ago! I've had the matcha brown sugar milk tea, honey milk tea, sea breeze smoothie and an avocado shake and they all are hits! Yes there aren't that many options for milk tea but they have the best tasting boba I've ever had. It is somehow less dense than others and offers a sensational texture that doesn't chew back at you. The service is great since you see the sweet couple owning and running the shop. We've been here a few times already and always have been greeted with a smile and gratitude. Ambiance gives off a hole-in-the-wall type feel and an original Pinole dessert shop for sure.
