Peach Cobbler cookie with pie crust running along the bottom
    Victor V.

I recently found myself driving to San Francisco on an early weekend morning and decided I wanted to stop at my favorite hidden gem of a cookie shop which is on the way-so I stopped at Butter Pecan Bakeshop in Pinole. This shop features cookies made with Southern recipes that mostly came from the owners grandmother,if I remember correctly. When you get your hands on these cookies, you can truly tell, the butter they must use in these cookies makes these cookies so tasty-the kind of taste that lingers in your mind long after your done eating them. This shop generally has I think 6 cookie flavors every month with 2 additional limited featured flavors rotating monthly-this time of year is unique as they swapped out a few of the regulars for additional holiday recipes-so I knew when I walked in,I was in for a treat. I decided to go with the 6 pack cookie box($23) this time-it's rare I get out here since I live in Sacramento,so decided to splurge instead of just going for a single cookie ($3.95)I went with 2 of each of these 3 flavors Southern Banana Pudding-Almond Roca-Peach Cobbler. I really really enjoyed the Almond Roca and the Banana Pudding cookie quite a bit,I would order both again with zero hesitations, but the true star of the show was that Peach Cobbler. This cookie was truly amazeballs!!!....so buttery, the large peach filling in the middle was so tasty, nothing artificial tasting about it at all-but what really made this thing standout was they wrap a good portion of the bottom with actual pie crust-I never had a cookie that was wrapped in pie crust before and man does that work well-my only regret was that I didn't get 6 of these bad boys-they were delicious!! In closing if you ever find yourself driving in the East Bay Area and feel a cookie craving,I'd recommend stopping at Butter Pecan-you truly won't be disappointed. PS....One last tip-they do have multiple locations, with one in Pinole-Emeryville-Concord-Fairfield and Vallejo I think-so many options for you to try these awesome cookies no matter where you are in the East Bay......One day Sacramento-hopefully?

Such a quality amazing little place. One can smell the yumminess just walking through the door. 3 charming ladies working tirelessly to make sure every customer was helped with a smile. The place is small, but it's very efficiently set up and run. It's easy to spot what you wanna have. They have example sitting out on the counter of the real thing and the box fresh from the kitchen. Ours were still warm when we walked and made our order. The smell of the butter and the vanilla and the spices in the seasonings fill the air. I began my taste test with a peanut butter chocolate chip then I made sure I tried that seasonal item the apple cider cookie, and then I had the dark chocolate and sea salt, and the oatmeal raisin pecan. I couldn't resist getting cookies and cream as well as the banana pudding, and of course the banana toffee. Did I order too much hardly lol. These were also tasty and we couldn't wait to get home to cut them in thirds and do a taste test with mom. It went so well and it was so tasty and I didn't just gobble them down. I tasted every single little bite and let it melt my mouth. We all did. They were so delicious. Do I really honestly have to choose a favorite out of these? I'm sure if I go back again. I will probably have one of everything like I did this time. The hard part about eating these is eating slowly and pacing yourself. It's one of those pleasure things that you want to prolong as long as possible. I am so glad that there are several locations because I just found one close to my home. Bravo on this awesome product. I love a warm chewy cookie.

My preference for a cookie is one that is crispy on the edge and chewy on the inside, plus the tasty butter used during the creaming process. Butter Pecan hits all of these spots for me! The brown butter pecan is just perfect for me because I'm also a pecan fan. Hint of saltiness, sweetness and not too thick like some other places. The oatmeal raisin pecan is another winner. This cookie isn't as soft as the other cookies because of the heartiness of the oatmeal which makes sense. It felt healthy! Ha ha! The apple cider cookie had a hint of apple cider otherwise it's almost like a sugar cookie. It was okay for me. I love how the cookies are warm and not slathered in frosting. Oh, and the pricing is reasonable for the size. A great stop for a sweet treat! They have a parking lot in the back which is really convenient.

I've had butter pecan always cater for events, but this was my first time going in person and checking this location out! Let me start by saying their cookies are the bomb! They are huge and made with crispy edges but so soft and melty in the middle. I would highly recommend the chocolate sea salt cookie and the cookies and cream cookie! Maybe the staff had an off day, but they didn't seem to be super knowledgeable about the cookies they were serving or prepared. Maybe they are new! But they were very kind and friendly overall! There isn't a ton of space or places to sit inside if you wanted to stay and enjoy your cookies, it's more of a grab and go situation. There isn't a ton of street parking either, so turn the corner and park behind the store or park down the street if you can!

Walked in and everyone stopped and greeted me with a smile and if I needed any help choosing a cookie. The team member explained each cookie. Describing the ingredients and which cookies pair well. I picked up Reece's chip, Oreo, Banana Pudding, Original Butter Pecan and Tea Cake! Reece's was my favorite. Love a good peanut butter cookie with the candy pieces was amazing. Banana Pudding not much my favorite. A little too soft in the middle. I have a texture issue personally

The new Apple Cider cookie is out, so I had to go and try it. I could smell the apple, but I didn't taste apple or pumpkin in the cookie. The cookie was a little softer than I would prefer. I won't need to get that one again. The brown butter pecan cookie is my jam and it never disappoints. Keep making great cookies

This was our third time at Butter Pecan for cookies. First time I likely would have rated them with 3 stars and not come back. But then a friend brought some as a gift, and we thought they were really delicious! So when they had a Yelp! Event, I was in for the tie-breaking try. This time, the cookies were as great as the second time, earning them 5 stars from me. Entering the small store, it was only me and the very kind and helpful young lady behind the counter. And don't get me wrong, this place does a business! People were leaving as I arrived and more came in as I left. Plus, they had sold out of a couple flavors by the time I arrived, around 5:00 on a Friday evening. We had six cookie flavors: The Tea Cake, Brown Butter Pecan, Cookies & Cream, Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt, seasonal Apple Cider and Peanut Butter with Reese's Pieces. Consistently across all flavors is a delightful slightly crisp exterior with a soft, buttery bite. And when I say buttery, I mean BUTTER! These cookies are clearly made with real butter as reflected in the taste and texture. No floury, cakey, flavorless consistency here! My husband's fav flav is the strawberry/cream, and mine is the tea cake. Not dissing the rest, but this post would be too long to describe each fully. So, let's talk about that Tea Cake cookie because it will keep me coming back! The light, buttery flavor is reminiscent of a snickerdoodle, but less sweet and with a bit of nutmeg vs. cinnamon. This cookie makes me swoon! I could pair these with coffee or tea and be in pure bliss! I think these are also a perfect holiday cookie. I also loved the apple spice cookie- but that was a monthly special and I'm late posting this so it's currently not available. They have two different monthly flavors and you can check the website to see what they are; for November 25' they offer German Chocolate Cake and Sweet Potato Pie... where are my car keys!

Most delicious cookies Hands down There is no competition!!!! We brought 1/2 dozen. I think it was $23+/- Great customer service Worth every penny All the cookies we had were distunctively tasty.

We arrived to the delicious aroma of baked cookies and we were treated with five amazing cookies. We got the strawberry shortcake, the walnut chocolate chip The, the special one which was apple cider and a few other others that are great that I forgot to mention.

I came here for the Elite Experience!! My first ever event! The staff member who helped was super friendly! She offered great suggestions on what to get. It was fast and smelled wonderful inside. I got a full assortment of delights, cookies and cream, tea cake, banana pudding, chocolate and dark chocolate walnut, and many more. While the cookies are a bit sweet, it is nothing a glass of milk can't help. I prefer my cookies room temperature, but I'm sure warmed up they would be extra delicious! A must try in Pinole!!

My first Yelp event almost didn't happened as I got to the Original Butter Pecan Bakeshop with 5 minutes to spare. Crew was already cleaning up in the back when I got there, but was greeted with a pleasant smile by one of the staff members a short time later. Got my assortment of cookies all my choice I might say with a pumpkin basket swag to go with. It was so worth the hour drive to get here. No disrespect to Crumbl or Insomnia but Butter Pecan is my all time favorite. Cookies here are like delicious flavor bombs. They don't skimp on quality or on its ingredients as their cookies are always consistent each time I visit. 5 snaps to Butter Pecan Bakeshop.

I'm a baker, but if I'm craving cookies and don't feel like baking, this is the only alternative, I actually consider! Always fresh, warm and buttery. I just wish they'd use walnuts in more offerings! Thank you!

The interior of the Pinole location is smaller in size than other locations. As soon as you walk inside, you are greeted with each physical cookie (with its name shown) to choose from on the menu. There is an extended bar that guides you from the selection of cookies available to the cashier to order. The cookies are kept on racks behind the staff. As you make your selection(s), the cookies are taken from the tray and added to your box (or bag). This part I do not like. I prefer being able to see the assortment of each cookie flavor laid in front of me. I feel like a child, getting to pick the cookie "more caramelized" or "crispier corners." This is probably an easier process for staff, for customers I feel like it takes away from my experience that other locations offer. There is a plastic barrier between customers and the back of the house. The walkway inside follows the barriers path, it is tight and you have to "make room" for others at the end of the process (completed their purchase) to depart. The barrier stops at the cash register. Although small, the quaintness personalizes the experience and makes it feel more like homemade than a store bought experience. The cookie selection made was a half dozen ($23). My daughter chose her two - both Birthday, myself - both dark chocolate options (Sea Salt & Walnut) and my hubby picked Banana Pudding and Brownie Walnut. My little one's hands were immediately in the box and she devoured her selection. The cookies are soft, chewy, crisp around the edge and do not disappoint replicating its name. As time has passed, this business is like others - the cookies have grown smaller in size while the price has increased. At least the quality is still there. I remember when Butter Pecan was an online store you placed your order and had two days out of the week you were able to pick up your selections - minimum order required. I am proud Butter Pecan was able to find a home and has since expanded to 3 additional locations.

I reached out to Eric to cater mini mochi donuts for my wedding in March and his customer service was superb. He was so personable and friendly that I just wanted to order just because of that! I ended up ordering 5 dozen minis and everyone at my wedding LOVED them. So much that I didn't even get to have any myself during reception. What stands out the most about Mochata's donuts is that the flavor is actually IN the donut itself. Not just the icing that we're all used to. And the texture? Exactly the way a mochi should taste. Flavors? ON POINT!! The toppings are very generous, especially the Cookies N Cream and Mint Oreo. My absolute favorites are Coconut Pandan, Ube and Strawberries N Cream and my husband always goes for the Mint Oreo. I haven't tried all the flavors yet but I have no doubt that they all taste delicious. I also got myself a Thai Horchata drink. I never thought about combining the two flavors together and it was super good! Now I feel like I need to try every flavor of that as well. The right amount of chewiness that I like in my mochi! The donuts have flavor infused into the dough as well as the glaze-- unlike other places where the glaze is the only part with flavor.
