A consistent neighborhood spot that always feels welcoming no matter how busy they are. Stopped in after my walk -- but before the cake because chronologically that does matter -- and ordered my usual flat white with vanilla syrup. Even though they were busy, the service was still excellent. I sat at the bar and ended up having really good conversations with the baristas and a few customers about how much East Bay Coffee has grown over the years. I even showed pictures from when they first opened and it was only a coffee shop. It's been really nice watching this place evolve into more than just coffee while still keeping the same welcoming atmosphere. The food is always solid, the drinks are consistently good, and if you haven't tried them in the evening for dinner and drinks, you definitely should. Big love to Lisa and Bill -- and definitely miss Billy behind the bar. Always happy to support this spot.
I found out East Bay Coffee make a London Fog. I only knew the drink was made at Starbucks and I have to admit East Bay Coffee makes a good London Fog. Inside East Bay Coffee is amazing. I am tempted to jump on their performance stage just to say something on their mic but I don't want people that is enjoying their drinks inside to toss me out of the place. Parking can be hard to find nearby but plenty of parking near Bear Claw.
9am DJ? I'm not sure if he was actually playing anything, or if it was just a sound track. But there was a dude set up for something. I dunno. Cinnamon roll was okay. Nothing mind shattering. But decent. Breakfast sandwich. Was pretty good. Would probably order both again. The coffee was great. Good flavor. Not too sweet. Great spot. I can see why it was so busy.
Wow!! It was busy here! Folks working, friends chatting away and solos enjoying a great cup of coffee. You could feel the energy as you walked in. Ordered a vanilla latte and basil & tomato toast. Both amazing!
Tried an Americano this morning and it was pretty good. Had a smooth taste and was not overly bitter. The barista wrote my name down as BRATT, which I'm not sure if that was supposed to be a joke or if she truly thinks that BRATT is a name. If it was Brad or Brent or a legit name, I could understand it, but Bratt? Anyways, glad to see they hire special people, they need chances too. Unfortunately they open too late for me to make this my regular daily go to for coffee. Would be cool if they opened at 5am so on my way to work I could get a good coffee and have the staff prank me.
My sister and I needed a place to kill some time while having delicious coffee. We saw reviews for this place and went for it. I am SO glad we did! When you walk in there's a bar where you order. Come to find out this place closes in the afternoon and opens back up as a bar! I would like to come back for that. The seating area is pretty large and there is a stage for a live band. It was lively with some people sitting with their laptops. Clean bathroom! The coffee was delicious!! We had two each; latte and cappuccino and an iced matcha latte. The food options are good and also very delicious. The brioche egg sandwich was soft and comforting. The tomato toast had an earthy bread with perfectly ripe tomatoes. I would definitely come again when around this area.
A local coffee shop turned bar/restaurant at night?! I was going to write a review about just the coffee, but recently stopped by to have some cocktails and appetizers. Coffee is pretty good and so are their baked goods and food! I love their holiday drinks so I would highly recommend trying whatever they have posted. You order at the counter and you can either wait at the bar or sit down inside the bigger room. Their cocktails are also not bad! Happy hour is from 4pm-6pm. Nothing super unique but they sometimes add a twist to the classic cocktails and they're strong and not watered down. We recently had the hazelnut espresso martini and cranberry lemon drop and both were good. We also ordered the fried cauliflower and it was surprisingly really good! Very seasoned and the aioli that came with it was super garlicky and tasty! For both day time and night time their seating area is pretty open and there's never been a big wait. Parking outside is also street parking but it has never been a problem for me. I will be coming back for more happy hours and to try more cocktails.
It's very rare I work from a coffee shop, but while in the area I stopped by East Bay Coffee to get some things done. I remember back in the day I would come here for their open mic nights for warm chocolate chip cookies and connection. It's amazing how much this spot has grown! Parking is a bit tough because this is a spot 'in the know' for the area, so don't give up hope, street parking in front or parking across the street.around the corner with a bit of a walk may happen :) FYI also, check hours before heading over. Currently they are open from 7a-1p and reopen Tuesday-Wednesday from 4-10p, Thursday-Saturday from 4-11p. Also...they have cocktails and evening food now outside of brekkie food/pastries! Love to see this and have already heard the evening hours are super fun and yummy. For the Fall, take a look at my photo attached for a sweet look at their special menu additions. This go-around I ordered just a matcha in-house, but can't wait to enjoy more next time I'm in the area and need a WiFi moment or hang. Awesome digs, great staff, EB vibes through and through.
Back to our local haunt, EBCC, to enjoy the evening bar and menu on a Friday date night. I enjoyed the Martinez cocktail, which is a take off a Martini. It's sweeter, but not too sweet, and served with a twist and a side car. W had house made lemonaid. The bartenders here are craft cocktail experts and take great pride in the craft! For dinner we shared the butter lettuce salad with tomatoes, radishes, and a delicious house-made Parmesan dressing. I love this dressing! Plus the butter lettuce is a nice upgrade from Romain or a spring mix. It's sweet and mellow with a lovely crunch, and makes for a pretty plate. Guests can add a protein like grilled chicken or steak to make the salad a meal. I've done so with the chicken plenty of times and it's always been grilled to perfection with lovely grill marks, but most importantly, perfectly cooked, moist, tender, and flavorful chicken. Tonight we also shared the crispy chicken sandwich with a side of onion fries. Don't get me started on just how delish those onion fries are! Trust me! Try them! And the sandwich? Equally off the charts! Pic is from a previous meal, but the chicken breast is lightly battered and fried to juicy, crunchy perfection! It's huge and stuck out on two sided of the bun! They sandwich includes cheese, house made pickles, a delicious mayo, all on a fluffy bun. Before saying our goodlaters, I had a dessert of a cream soda "shot" (they have a cute name for these little yummy drinks but I forget what they're called). I love this sweet delight that is topped with a little whipping cream. Gently swirl it and that cream expands--so its delicious and fun! If you haven't been to EBCC at night-- stop on by! Enjoy the atmosphere, the food, and maybe Trivia (Tuesdays), open mic night (Thursdays) or a special weekend night when live music is offered!
We headed out to the cute farmers market and trade show that was happening on Saturday. The town is super cute and there are a few restaurants around it. We quickly got our stuff and got in I would say 10 mins to closing... I know horrible of us! But I wanted to try it. So walking in I was happy to see that it was order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. So we didn't hold up anyone serving us. I thought this was a sit down but they call your name once your food is ready. We ordered two Bloody Mary's and two of the thick bacon breakfast sandwiches. The bill came out to be around $50 and then tip. The drinks were on the weak side, basically all tomato juice. I had to go order a couple of shots that were $9 each for well. That's like a drink price... then I asked for something spicy and was told to go to the condiment bar... I was looking for a glass bottle, not packets of Tapatio... just threw me off a bit. So yeah, drinks could be a litter stronger (I noticed they watch the bartenders and they use a measure to be exact, not more not less) and could be a little spicier. When the food was ready they called our name. It didn't take long which was greatly appreciated! What I wasn't a fan of, was how the food was in a to go container... not sure if this was just because we ordered late and they wanted us to get out? The taste was so good, fresh, and the thick bacon was delicious! Wish it had three pieces but two is nice. The bun was soft, the chipotle aioli was tasty, loved the fresh egg! Loved the price of it as well! $11.50!!! Awesome! We sat in the room with the stage, they have evening music. Lots of people hang out and are on their laptops. The place is very clean and everyone is super nice. I believe the owner/manager came up to us to invite us back for dinner. We will be back, maybe just stick to wine.
So I never went here previously, but I decided to check it out for their summer series open mic night! It was a small, but spacious place. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the glazed pork belly, pesto pizza, fried cauliflower, and French fries. Every single morsel and bite, was so good! The service was equally amazing, and the ladies were super friendly and kind. My beautiful wife is a wheelchair user, and we appreciated that they have a ramp right outside the doors, with two separate entrances/exits! So thoughtful and well planned out. So bravo, East Bay Coffee, we shall return! Overall 20/10
Based on my last morning here, it was so good! Definitely worthy of 5 stars. The toast was absolutely amazing. Generally, service can be quite slow with a long line, so just be prepared for a wait. Great atmosphere though!
As busy as it can get at 0800. Must be because drinks are really tasty and pastry in special the cookies!!! Ambience is a mix between a coffee shop and a night bar all in one place, the ideas the best. Order two chocolate chip cookie with sea salt OMG!!! Fresh melts in your mouth you can definitely taste the dark chocolate no salt but the hints of sea salt are there no overpowering in sweet just perfect. Blueberry lemon loaf, hmmm!! in the dry side, not a big fan. Lavender latte, smooth, no sweet but creamy Overall I will come back to try other pastries and other drink as well

I have been a customer here for several years and it's my first time trying their dinner menu. This use to be my go to place for coffee but the coffee has become more bland so I don't come here as often, it's still a decent coffee shop and would recommend to the locals. What impressed me about their dinner menu is the drinks, very strong and delicious. The food was okay... we ordered a burger with fries and wings. The meat was cooked medium rare, if you don't like it cooked that way make sure you let them know. I really enjoyed the wings, they were well seasoned and give a decent portion. They also charge for extra ketchup which I've never experienced, understandable if it was ranch or some other special sauce but it wasn't. All the servers were polite, attentive and the place was clean and felt welcoming. They have a bar that I'll probably go to next time just for the drinks. I recommend to order their hazelnut espresso martini and the madre mía both drinks were amazing! read more

Food: Incredible salmon toast with added avocado. The bread was soft and light. The capers with onions on top was a perfect combination of flavor. Will definitely order again when in the area. Don't let the name fool you....coffee shop by day and a sleek lounge at night! Such a great spot that I stumbled on. It was the night before before Thanksgiving and I was in town looking for a place to have a few cocktails. A friend recommended this place but I thought pffftttt how does a place named East Bay Coffee have cocktails? I called to see if they were open & they were, they even had a DJ coming in that evening! We came had a few drinks & even had some food. Needless to say everything was GREAT! I had the pisco punch and the focaccia bread which were both deelish!! Vibes were a cross between an eclectic lounge & a place where u can meet for a book club. Pear steet used to be my jam when Gary owned it but it's changed a lot....now EBC is my new spot! First time impression... I like the atmosphere in the morning, the bar is busy and nice crew working when I came. I ordered cappuccino and I like how it was made...not too bitter. The cinnamon rolls I ordered looks very yummy, but, first bite, I think it needs more time for baking, I can taste the batter in the very middle. While Thailand on the adjacent room is very cozy, I found out, they have some gigs going on every night? Or some nights... that's cool, coffee in the morning and bar at night. read more

It might just be me but it's crazy to go to a coffee shop...and see a bar as well. But I love it. And I love East Bay Coffee. It's a bit of a drive for us but we just make it a lil get-away for a while. East Bay Coffee has delicious everything. The sandwiches are freshly made and very well done. The coffees very tasty. There is cozy quaint seating inside and a performance area for live music etc. We'll be back some evening for a performance but so far our day visits have been nothing but all good at East Bay Coffee. read more

I had a great time last night at EastBay. There was live entertainment and the singer was excellent. This was my first time coming here in the evening and I would definitely love to come back again. All the food and drinks we had were fabulous. The service was excellent too as the wait staff came by frequently to check on us. My favorite food item was the Grilled Bread Tapas. Try the Avocado toast! So delicious! My husband and I arrived around 8:15 AM before the 'after school drop off' rush of parents and it was really nice. There was plenty places to sit and we got our coffees and food quickly. I had never tried their avocado toast and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Price was very reasonable. The food was delicious! A little smaller in portion than I expected, but good nonetheless. Both the chai tea latte and ube latte had great flavor. This is a great environment to study and stay productive. The ambiance was clean and artistic! read more

I love everything about East Bay Coffee. It's more than just a coffee shop It's the perfect place to grab coffee, dinner, or drinks with friends. Their coffee is so good. My go-to is the iced Havana latte, and my favorite seasonal drink is the White Christmas (white chocolate and peppermint/spearmint). For daytime food, I 100% recommend the herb & Gruyère scone, and thumbprint cookie. For evening, definitely try the tapas plate! Their chicken nuggets and fries are also really good. They make their sauces in-house, and each one is incredible. My favorite drinks at their bar are the pumpkin spice espresso martini and the Irish whiskey shot. Both are incredibly smooth and creamy. 10/10! Their Trivia Nights every Tuesday are suuuuper fun, and something my friends and I look forward to every week. I've also brought a bag of their decaf coffee home, to make nighttime lattes without worrying about caffeine keeping me awake. Absolutely delicious! Thanks for being so awesome EBC! Okay ... okay .... Okay!! This cafe is DELICIOUS! So beautifully thought out, decor is hippie, which is totally my vibe, I gotta say it again, absolutely love the vibe. I've been here twice each time it's been a positive experience. Love sitting at the bar, bathrooms are too fancy and cute with alllllll the art decor. The service is top notch, so much dignity, hospitality, friendly. The owners paid attention to detail in whom they wanted to hire. All great staff here!! We came last Thursday 27th the young lady working there by the name Mikay too sweet. She had recommended the London fog. I've been hooked since, I just love Earl Gray tea. Yummy! From another yelper I've been wanting to try the cinnamon rolls. So had to come back on a Fri, Sat or Sunday. On Sunday 9th came to visit again, The cinnamon rolls are sinfully yummy not too sweet or heavy but gooey delish omg. My mouth all salivating lol. The owner Lisa, so helpful, hospitable, attentive. I forgot the shot of alcohol I had last time in the London fog. Lisa helped me out. I had the London fog second time around and it was made, SO good toO good mates. PERFECT!! Wow! East Bay Coffee has really built their offerings over the last several years. I recommend they rename the business to East Bay Cuisine or something similar so that they are not misperceived as a coffee shop that dabbles in lunch and dinner. I knew about the amazing breakfasts and even lunches - but they are offering dinner 5 or 6 nights per week. I started with an extremely generous and delicious side salad with romaine, tomato, radishes and a lovely creamy dressing. I then had the most a m a z i n g cheeseburger: ordered medium and cooked perfectly. I had tomatoes and a cheddar cheese. I DECLARE THIS TO BE THE BEST BURGER IN ALL OF PINOLE AND LIKELY WEST COUNTY. The dessert ice cream with hot fresh pan cookie was spectacular. The server who was herself spectacular - amazingly attentive - advised that EVERYTHING is homemade here and I believe. They accept Apple Pay of course and everyone made me feel like my regular Friday night splurge was an event. read more

Neat Cafe! Totally worth your bucks. I loved their breakfast sandwiches, juicy thick bacon with perfectly fluffy brioche bun and gooey egg. Just writing about it makes me hungry for another sandwich! I can't wait to come back. Their coffee was delicious too, I could use my coffee slightly stronger but it was still good. I recommend anyone to stop by and definitely give it a try. Their pastries looked delicious and fresh. Super friendly staff, peaceful environment and decently quick service. Parking is the only down side of its location. read more
