Concept is dope! It's diverse and homey. Love that they use old home furniture in a way that is intentional as oppose to making it look like a junkyard. It's family friendly as they have plenty of kids books and a plant nursery you can walk through which has a lot of variety. They have a store inside the cafe and outside by the nursery. The people are friendly and greet you as soon as you walk by. I love that they have "pay what you can" coffee or people can donate too. You get a real sense of community from this place. I do wish they had some background music, something subtle. Background music, when chosen wisely, can liven up a place and feel more energetic. The matcha is not good. I honestly don't know why I order matcha at places that do not specialize in it. Menu is limited, but it sounds like they may be expanding their menu sooner than later. It's a cool place to hang out and I'll try their coffee next time. read more

This is place is not what the name states it is. I was disappointed by my experience at Good Table in El Sobrante. During my visit, I witnessed what appeared to be the owner (an older short woman on a heavier side) speaking harshly to a barista after a customer raised a concern, and it happened within earshot of customers. It made the atmosphere uncomfortable. I was also not impressed with the food quality. Some of the baked items tasted stale to me, and several menu items felt more like resold prepared products from El Cerrito Annex than freshly made food. For the prices charged, I expected a fresher and more welcoming experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I don't plan to return. read more

The coffee is not timed so it is always stale, the espresso bar was unavailable so you could only order iced espresso drinks, the people in charge are rude to customers and employees, blaming them for way too much which causes a huge turnover of employees which are improperly trained. There are flies on food that is served, a huge X on the menu board for an item deleted, food doesn't match the description, and no one seems happy to work there. read more

What a special place! Community pride is felt thoughout this "Triangle" area of El Sobrante. The Good Table was 8 years in the making and it seems from the Grand Opening, to be well worth the wait for those who attended, and the many who volunteered their time to create this community dream come true. It's a beautiful space filled with friendly people, local artisan made products, a good sized retail book shelf, a peaceful light filled community space (and on Sundays an open to all church), locally produced food and beverage, including pay what you can or pay it forward coffee. Next door is the Planting Justice Nursery & Farm Marketplace and The Shed, a maker space and artisan market. Both well worth a visit too. I absolutely loved the "intentional creativity" art installations. Also a year round farmer's market and the occasional festive night market happens here. There is no doubt the Triangle will become a lively community hub, and likely quickly! read more

I really wanted to like this place and support them since it's a new local coffee shop. They have a nice set up with the nursery and a store in the back and they support reformed individuals but they need to work on their customer service. Some, not all, of the workers are rude and unfriendly. I have talked to family and friends and they did not have a good experience. Please do better! read more

The older lady owner with longer gray hair is unnecessarily passive aggressive - she has quite literally never replied hello or asked what can I get you when I order. Every time I've bought coffee here, she walks to the counter where I'm waiting, and proceeds to starts a conversation with the barista rather than reply to my hello. The convo usually takes them about 30 seconds, and when it's finished, she turns and just looks at me without saying a word, and without ever replying to my hello or asking what I'd like. Just a quiet silent look. Awkward unnecessary microaggression? Besides that, the drinks are good and the atmosphere is usually decent. I like the concept of this place, having a community space rather than a corporate money machine like Starbucks. There are families that come in, and the nursery nearby is lovely. The drinks and atmosphere earned all of the stars in this review. read more

Beautiful Transformation and An Homage to The Adachi Family After seeing the old Adachi nursery sit empty for years, many of us wondered what was to become of this huge property. The transformation did not disappoint. This is an inviting and cozy place to have great coffee, snacks, and a little remote work. Everyone who works here greets you with a warm smile. Come for the ambiance and support the talents of local artists. The nursery is coming to life and shows promise of the Adachi era. My whole family loves this café. The staff is nice. They put coloring books and colored pencils out for the kids to just sit at a big table and color while I hang out with a friend plus it's basically inside of a nursery with a garden store and tons of big tables outside, so you can sit and look at the plants and you can get all your garden supplies when you're done with your coffee. read more

My sister and I went to the farmers market last sunday and we decided to check out The Good Table. First I need to say the place is very nice. It was well put together, The young women at the register was very helpful. She answered whatever we asked, we ending up ordering a pumpkin muffin which we asked to have heated and 2 Hazel lattes. 4 people behind the counter, no one in line, we sat for awhile another person ordered coffee, my sister's name was called the muffin was not heated I asked to have it heated and the man making coffee said in a minute which was OK but then my coffee came and was good and then my sister's came, which became bad, 1st it was cold so I asked if he could put it in the microwave and instead he heated with the steamer which the coffee spilled out over the cup and he just handed it back. I asked for a napkin because he didn't wipe it off, it was a mess. He said he had nothing and another customer gave us napkin to clean up, and after he heated up it just was not the same as mine, and I had to ask again to get the muffin heated up which he was not happy about. We will try one more time, again it was well done place, loved the atmosphere, but may have to stay with starbucks. read more

The best thing about this coffee house is that it's inside of a wonderful nursery. You could get your coffee walk around the nursery look at plants. Go back sit at your table. Have a bagel or pastry. Just relax. Read a book and enjoy the atmosphere. Unfortunately the coffee house staff are all that helpful. I asked for the phone number to the coffee shop and nobody knew what it was. read more

So I was there and I saw the owner yell and B rate a customer for having his dog there. The customer was so polite to her, but she didn't care. Every time I've been there they've been several dogs in the café and everybody seems to get along. But she was so condescending saying he should know that there shouldn't be any animals inside and pointed to a small tiny sticker on the window on the bottom in an area, you can't see. The customer politely said hey let me just make a suggestion. Maybe you should have a bigger sign for everyone to see if she did not want any dogs in her restaurant. But she did not want to hear it and just basically told him to get out and she just wanted him to do what she said making a whole scene out of it This was the most unprofessional owner I've ever seen. She's pretty much running off her customer base. I mean, there are several coffee shops in the area with snacks so there is nothing significant or proprietary. The restaurant and bar across the street the owner is so friendly, loves his customers and caters to his customers. The guy with the dog walked out and said he's not coming here anymore. I'm not coming here anymore either, all four of us left shocked. I do not like aggressive, bullying owners, even if she wanted the guy to leave with his dog she could've been way more professional about it. Customer services everything even though "Karen" owns the business. She doesn't deserve it. The way she's running this this business is not going to last I'd rather have a friendly nice place to be with no drama than someone who bullies their customers. DONT COME HERE!! read more

Beautiful space with friendly service and a charming bookstore inside. The setting next to the nursery adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was bland and the foam tasted like it came from an automatic machine. I'd visit for the ambience, but not for the coffee. read more

Love the feel good place. There is a good vibe when you come in. I take yoga there and after our class, we had lunch. They have great soups and sandwiches. They also sell cards, soaps, perfumes etc . Everything is esthetically pleasing. Go there instead of Starbucks! They are trying to build a community. They have a slot on the counter so you can give money to the homeless. They have organic food from El Cerrito Natural Grocery, like that delicious egg salad sandwich. Yummm! And a world of beautiful and healthy food and things to do, like a great yoga class in the evening.
