Came here tonight and it was a solo show. He did great and greeted every customer that came in while trying to make the drinks and answer questions and man the register. The place was clean which is amazing for one person working the whole place. I would suggest to the owner for only have customers work the kiosk only especially if there's just one person. Swung by Tea Spoon today and ordered three drinks: the double Matcha, Thai Tea, and classic Milk Tea. I tried the Matcha and got it at 25% sweetness. The lower sugar level was perfect, not too sweet and really let the tea flavor come through. Being in LA for the past 4 years, I've had my fair share of good matcha, so I was pleasantly surprised by how solid theirs was. It had a rich, earthy flavor and a smooth finish. Honestly, it's one of the better matchas I've had in the area, especially from a chain. The Thai Tea was bold and creamy, and the Milk Tea was smooth and classic. Both were great choices if you want something more familiar. My only complaint is that the matcha came in a noticeably smaller cup even though it cost more than the others. A little disappointing, but the quality made up for it. The space had good vibes. Clean interior, friendly staff, and board games available made it a fun spot to chill. We really like this location. They have a lot of drink options and variations to choose from. They allow you to choose your sweetness level and ice level which I appreciate. This spot is bright and clean with lots of seating as you wait for your boba. They have a kiosk to order from but you can also order from the counter. So far everyone I have encountered working there is really nice, and work quickly in orders. I usually get 2 bobas, a milk based and a tea based option. I tend to order their Dirty Ube but I also enjoy the Black Sugar Assam, Matcha Royal and the Silky Mango. For the tea based drinks I tend to go for the Lychee on Lychee, Guava Sunset or Lady Bug. 0% sweetness and less or no ice. Every drink I have had I have enjoyed. Definitely a great boba spot! Teaspoon is one of my go-to boba spots. My favorite drink is the Silky Strawberry, which doesn't have tea and is consistently very good. It does lean on the sweeter side, but that's part of why I like it. The boba texture is always spot on. I've tried several other drinks and none have disappointed me. The vibe inside is pretty chill, and there's a lot of seating, which makes it a nice place to hang out. I liked that they had fresh fruit in the drinks. I ordered the Flamingo which had passion fruit. I ordered it with 25% sugar, but I think if I return I would ask for 50% sugar. We were able to contact him ahead of time and get our drinks this time around. Matthew, who was the cashier that day, was also great & welcoming. Was pleasantly surprised to see that they had the new Grapefruit Series on the menu (considering they didnt have the Honey Series last time). We tried the Mango Grapefruit Swirl-- the grapefruit was a tad bitter and overpowering, but that's beyond their control. Got my usual White Grape Oolong Tea w/ lychee popping boba; highly recommend. Wasnt a big fan of the taro lover, but that was probably bc we opted for no ice (they still filled it up to the brim though, unlike some boba spots-- so that was noted and appreciated). The ladybug was overly sweet at 100%, so Id recommend going with a lower sweetness level. Overall, glad that we were finally able to try their drinks and give them a more deserving Yelp review/rating. Mark also followed up after our visit to see how things went which was kind of him. The staff was very busy so answering questions about the kiosk was a no go. They were very busy while we were there, which was dinner time.
