Calaca Coffee is hands down my favorite cafecito spot in the East Bay! I've been following these guys since they were doing random pop-ups in San Francisco at an art studio, and it has been so amazing watching them grow. So, when I heard they were opening a shop in the East Bay, I knew I had to support them! My sister and I still drive about 35 minutes just to get our Calaca fix and trust me, it's THAT good! Their coffee is so unique, and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite is the Banana Crema Cafe de olla. I literally dream about it! It's SO good! They also sell their coffee beans and cold brew packs so you can enjoy their coffee at home, which is such a great option. The guys are always in great spirits and so welcoming. The shop itself is small, but it has such a cool vibe and feels like a place you want to hang out and enjoy your cafecito. They also have delicious pastries, but get there early because they sell out FAST! What I love most is that their drinks feel authentic and nostalgic. They have recipes that can transport you right back to your childhood or remind you of sitting with your abuelita enjoying a cafecito. If you haven't tried Calaca Coffee yet, THIS IS YOUR SIGN! It's a must-try for anyone who loves good coffee, unique recipes, and an authentic cafecito experience. We'll happily keep making that 35-minute drive!
Stopped by on a whim searching for coffee, and found Calaca on our way to Benicia. The selection of coffees and baked goods looked so delicious on Yelp, we had to stop by. I ended up getting the guava coconut matcha - and I was blown away! This was so delicious, a dessert in a drink. I highly recommend getting this with coconut milk, it really deepens the flavor. My boyfriend got something off their coffee menu (sorry can't remember the name) but it was absolutely delicious as well! Nothing was overly sweet, so that was a huge plus for us. Really recommend stopping by, the baristas were all so friendly and kind to us!
Been wanting to check out Calaca for awhile and we finally made it! Their menu is very unique and pays homage to their Mexican roots. I got the cafe de olla w/added oat milk and tres leches cold foam and it was so good!!! I finished my cup real quick haha. I was very tempted to try it with banana cream cold foam as well, but we'll save that for the next time we come back! They have seasonal drinks every month so you can try something new and different! My bf didn't know what to get so I ordered him the Piloncillo Latte w/oat milk and he loved it! I had looked up what piloncillo was before, and it's brown sugar!!! Our go to is brown sugar shaken espresso, so this was something I knew he'd like! My sister wanted a banana matcha and I was afraid the banana cold foam would melt by the time we got home, but she said she could still taste it and she liked it! We came almost towards the end of closing, so there weren't a lot of pastries left, but we were able to try the almond lemon loaf and the berry tart? and both were delicious! The coffee shop is connected to a deli and an open community seating area, which provides a lot of seating! The barista was vey friendly and welcoming; they gave us cute stickers when we told them it was our first time here! Definitely come check them out! We don't usually go to Crockett, but I'll def be coming back again for Calaca and maybe visit the deli next door and other local businesses!
Stopped by this coffee shop in Crockett and really liked it. The inside has a fresh, modern feel and everything was clean and organized. The menu had some Hispanic-inspired flavors, which was a nice change. I got what I think was a horchata mocha with banana cold foam and that little addition made it so much better. It was seriously SO good. My friend ordered a matcha and liked hers too. They still had a few pastries left when we went in late morning/early afternoon, and the customer service was great. Overall, it was a really good experience and I'd definitely come back.

Hidden gem in Crockett! Not a lot of Mexican coffee spots are here and I like how the barista went above and beyond to chat about Crockett. The drinks were made to perfection and can be a good spot to work remote. Additionally, there is a sandwich spot next door called Lucia which makes some really good sandwiches
Order at counter and sit yourself at the shared eating space. The guava dessert was soooo good but the peach crumble was super dry.
Awesome coffee shop! This spot was recommended by a friend, and I was glad I stopped by! I ordered the cold brew, and it was very bold and strong, just how I like it! The service was friendly, and the ambiance is so cool! It has old school, warehouse kind of vibes, but with modern vibes as well. Very much the quintessential urban coffee shop, and I'll definitely be back!
Come for the banana cream lattes and the blue corn chocolate chip cookies, stay for the cool intimate Mexican mom and pop coffee shop vibes. Such a lovely cafe in small town Crockett! Freshly baked Mexican treats, super friendly baristas, innovative beverages, cool swag, and now spacious ambiance with the expansion into the adjacent restaurant. They are also connected to my fave Lucia's craft sandwich spot. I hope they stick around- please come and support this awesome business!
Small, but what a great addition to Crockett and adding some flavor! They have a variety of options that I couldn't pick so I had the cashier just give me his favorite. It did not disappoint! They close at 2pm and their pastries were nearly gone by the time I came at 1030am. I love that this business is latin owned and their coffees have latin influence, not just your typical vanilla or caramel coffees. It's a shared space so I thought they had the whole dining area, but turns out to be Dukes which closes at 11am. The shared space is cool, you can grab breakfast at Dukes or a sandwich from Lucias and coffee at Calaca! It's a one stop shop! Definitely will return to try their matcha and banana foam!
Found this place on tik tok. I wanted to check out all the hype. I ordered a Banana cream cafe de olla the hype is real. It tastes like a banana pudding dessert in liquid form. The cafe de olla is delicious and the banana cream adds the perfect sweetness to it. Order ahead is also available.

We stopped by at their new location and very much enjoyed the atmosphere. They are connected to Lucia's Craft Sandwich. If you haven't tried their sandwiches, please don't sleep on it. They are amazing. Let's talk Coffee. Dulce De Leche Latte- 8/10 Delicious flavors. Would have appreciated if my coffee was a bit warmer. No complaints though. Banana Cold Foam Cold Brew- 8/10 A for Creativity. The foam was on point! & The cold Brew was nice & smooth. We loved the warm environment. Very welcoming & Friendly.
my favorite stop on the way to vallejo! i discovered this spot on instagram during the pandemic and they've lived a few different lives since then: from a coffee truck to pop up events. it's been so lovely to see them grow and open up this cozy shop. i'm a sucker for mexican inspired coffee flavors and cute marketing. calcaca fits the bill! this location is small but mighty. they are connected to a little restaurant/market type thing so you have plenty of space to hang out. there's ample street parking out front. the lucha libre mural is my favorite. the merch is top tier. BUT THE COFFEE OMG. the cafe de olla is so classic. the horchata latte is done very well but the banana cream cold foam is legit top tier. all of their cold foams elevate already delicious drinks without being overly sweet. service is amazing and i love supporting their small business. way to put crockett on the map, calaca! read more
Recently discovered Calaca Coffee from Yelp and Instagram, and this is a hidden gem coffee shop! First, the staff were friendly and helped me narrow down a drink. I ordered one their popular drinks, the banana cream cafe de olla cold brew. Hands down one of the best cold brews I've ever had! The coffee shop was easy to find in Crockett and there was free street parking, which was a plus. Inside, they had plenty of tables to sit, hang with friends, or do work. Can't wait to visit again and highly recommend if you're looking for coffee in this area. read more
Woooow I haven't been wow'd by a coffee shop in a while. Was heading up to sac and needed a coffee. The exit right before the toll booth is where you need to go. Right when you walk in there is a case of delicious pastries and a menu with many specialty drinks. I was overwhelmed by the menu but the barista was very helpful in picking drinks and pastries. I got a hot Piloncillo Latte with oat milk which was delightful. Not too sweet and perfectly foamy top and was delicious. My boyfriend got an iced Mexican vanilla latte and that was pretty good too. I did prefer my Piloncillo latte tho. For pastries I recommend the pineapple guava cheese roll. They remind me of Porto's but BETTER. It had a good balance of sweet and a slight tang from the pineapple. So good We also got the blue masa chocolate chip cookie which was also good. The masa gave the cookie a more crumbly texture and I swear the chocolate tasted a little like the abuelita hot chocolate. A good pick if you like chocolate The only thing I don't like about this place is the lids for their hot drinks since it's kinda hard to drink out of but aside from that they're awesome. read more

This coffee shop is amazing. Their cold foams were very delicious and fun to pair different flavors with different drinks. Currently they had a strawberry cold foam. The staff were incredibly nice, patient, and informative. There was plenty of seating available, free water, and restrooms. I loved that it was in the same building as a yummy sandwich place too! read more

We arrived right before closing, they were very nice and the coffee was absolutely delicious. We ordered 4 cold coffee's. 3 iced Banana Cafe de olla. 1 piloncillo latte. Both coffee's were scrumptious. I went to the counter and asked for more banana cream foam. I asked how much? He was very nice and said, just come back. We plan to. Open room, perfect lighting. Music plays in the back ground. Perfect for coffee drink and a conversation with a friend or a loved one. read more

I drive 25 minutes for this matcha as often as I can because it is my absolute fav! Love all of the cold foam options & their seasonal flavors. Bonus points for friendly staff & awesome stickers! Lots of parking out front & Crockett has a bunch of cute stores nearby. read more
Calaca Coffee is an amazing Mexican-owned cafe in Crockett. Staff is friendly. Shop is spacious and airy. The menu for food and drinks is expansive. Parking is plenty and free around the perimeter. Overall, an amazing addition to the area. read more

I'm so glad I found a coffee spot nearby! This is my 2nd time I visited and their drinks are great. I never had a concha until I took a bite of the soft made bread with half sweetness presenting the concha. It was delicious. I ordered the Calaca cold brew my first time and wow did that drink keep me awake! During my 2nd visit, I got the banana cream matcha. The matcha is pure not sweet and with the flavors of banana cream cold foam and honey syrup helped balance the flavor of the drink. Good cafe to study as they have a community WiFi to share off from, not the strongest but it will do. They are also connected to another local gem called Lucia's craft sandwich. I had this coffee shop bookmarked for awhile ever since I saw it on TikTok. Omg, so good, such cute decor. I love supporting POC owned businesses. They're very friendly, they have very creative drinks, and I will definitely be coming back to try more. I tried their banana cold brew and omg--the drink didn't last more than 5 minutes. It's not too sweet, not too strong, the cold foam they have is perfection. I am excited to try their matcha after this! read more
A really great spot for some delicious coffee! It's been on my to try list for a really long time and I'm so glad I finally got to try it. We got the pumpkin cold brew with pumpkin spice cold foam and the banana cold brew. Both drinks were delicious. The staff is super friendly and there are a ton of spots to sit and do some work. It's a really great local coffee shop. It's also attached to another restaurant whose food looked really good. I'd want to try their food next time as well! read more

Been following them around since their pop up days around the bay area! Finally got around to seeing their front store & it's so cute right by the carquinez bridge! Nice place to have your coffee. We tried the Orange Cardamom Latte (hot) and iced Dulce de Leche Latte. I really enjoyed the seasonal Orange Cardamom Latte - not too strong in flavor and very well mixed. You order at the counter and staff calls you when the order is ready. There is plenty of seating. Street parking so it could be hard to park during weekends. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE! The best coffee in the East Bay, and the employees are so kind. Cute seating and decor and the location is inside a restaurant. All the drinks have been AMAZING. I recently tried the seasonal drink Piloncillo lavender with salted honey cold foam and the Tiramisu. The flavors are not too overpowering and balance very well. My mom who never drinks coffee besides her own loves this place and says she wants to drink it everyday. read more
I visited a museum in SF and luckily came across Calaca Coffee and I am so glad I did. The coffee was really really good, just the soft top needs to be improved it was not very thick at all I think the consistency of the cold foam should be tweaked a bit for it to be a perfect sip of iced coffee. read more
Must try local coffee shop in Crockett! Kept seeing this on my instagram and got recommended by my sister to try it when I went back to the Bay. As it is local, you need to know that there is a wait but it's worth it. I tried the levanta muertos cold brew and it was necessary for a nice pick me up. I'll return to this coffee shop next time I'm around to be able to try out different items from the menu. read more

I first want to say this isn't the first time I've been here and it will not be the last! It's a nice little spot situated in downtown Crockett near the C&H factory, but parking is a bit limited so I recommend coming early. Their coffee is always top notch, my partner and I got the banana crème Calaca cold brew and iced Piloncillo latte. Both drinks had amazing coffee flavors and just enough sweetness for both of our tastes. The barista was very welcoming upon our arrival and noticed we were even repeat customers. They even gave us free concha's! ( blueberry lavender and peach cobbler ) which was unexpected and very appreciated. We have been going to this shop since they announced their opening and have seen it grow into the amazing business that it is now! We are excited to continue to see it grow and blossom! read more
My friend and I popped in here because we wanted to do some photography and explore. We had both seen Calaca on IG and wanted to try it out. We came on a Saturday at around 10:30am, and it was packed! Because it was cold, I got a hot drink, the Xoco latte, and despite the wait, the drink was absolutely delicious! While I will say that the drink was absolutely worth it, and the guys were working as fast as they could, I'm not a fan of lines and next time will come earlier or later to miss the rush. After walking around a bit, it looked like the shop had quieted down, so I got another drink, the Piloncillo Latte, and again, absolutely delicious and great flavors! This place was so good, that I decided to drive out here after a Friday morning workout to try the iced Cafe De Olla latte, and added Oatchata foam. Again, can't say enough good things about the drinks. This time, they also had conchas, so I tried the blue maize one and it was perfection. One more thing that I'd like to add is that the guys working are so nice and it was a pleasure to chat with them and learn a bit more about their business. They are super welcoming and you can tell how invested and excited they are about their business! read more

Had a great experience checking out this charming little spot right off the I-80 corridor in Crockett, CA. We had seen it featured on TikTok and read several positive reviews, so we were excited to finally try it out. It's a small, Latino-owned coffee shop, and we were happy to support a local business. My child, my daughter's godmother, and I took our time going through the menu, which had a fantastic selection of drinks featuring traditional Mexican-style ingredients. I was genuinely impressed. The pastries also looked amazing and offered a great variety, though we ended up grabbing breakfast from the sandwich shop next door. The staff was super friendly and very attentive, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and want something unique and welcoming. Came back a second time, it was another great experience! We tried some different varieties this time and it didn't disappoint! Check them out, they're a great place to get your hands on some great quality coffee. read more
