During our visit, an employee refused to ring up my partner's items and engaged in behavior that was rude, disrespectful, and humiliating. My partner is a cancer patient and has significant vision disabilities. The employee made comments about his appearance, including remarks along the lines of, "Look at that outfit and that hat." My partner was dressed in ordinary casual clothing consisting of khaki shorts, a light-colored shirt, and a hat he purchased during a trip to Puerto Vallarta. There was nothing unusual or inappropriate about his attire. The employee refused to give her name but her tag said something like Elaya. She raised her voice during the interaction and mocked him regarding having to return to work. The overall tone was dismissive, hostile, and demeaning. As someone who has endured cancer treatment and lives with visual impairment and disability, my partner already faces challenges that most customers do not. This is often my go to Target because this location has good inventory for items that I like and lots of team members walking around. When I shop via the app, this store usually has my selected items in stock vs. my local Vallejo location. Last Thursday evening was no exception. I was trying to weasel my way out of cooking a late dinner but at 9 pm I caved at thought Target would be a easier store to navigate verses a traditional grocery store and they would have more small portioned items as well as some possible convenient items to make taco salads easier than that already is. This review is for the drive up. I had an awful experience today at 5:50 pm with the person at the drive up. His name is James. I had to ask another employee his name. Let me preface this with, - I shop at target at least two times a week and pick up my items through drive-up. Never have I ever had this type of service or treatment. He walked up to my car with some little scowl on his face and just dropped my groceries in the seat, said nothing and walked away. I was missing items so I went over to him and said one, I'm missing items and two that was very rude that you dropped my groceries in my car like that. His comment was to shrug, then He says "I'm not trying to hear all that" continues to say he doesn't care and whatever....i asked for a manager. He refused to call. I asked him to check on my groceries, he refused to call other employees on his walkie to check for my groceries. Finally a manager comes out (young black woman) I am describing her because I want to make sure this gets handled. I shared all of this with her and also shared that employees need to have better customer service especially at a time when they are losing money and have lost money due to others boycotting them. I ordered two drinks and waited 15 minutes and she never let me know my drinks were ready even though more customers kept getting their drinks already even though I ordered before them! Wow, this location has full inventory! Unlike other locations I go to, this Target has items I've never seen or knew it existed! I was in the beauty section trying to buy makeup wipes and face mask. They were locked inside a cabinet and when that happens I tend to be lazy and just forget about it. An employee approached me and asked if I needed help, perfect timing! She was friendly and helpful. I recently went to Target during Cyber week and I was purchasing a Lego set for a gift and before I went to the cashier I made sure to check on the Target store policy about price matching. Since I was at Target and didn't want to make another trip I noticed Walmart had the same item for $10 cheaper. So I showed the cashier if she could price match the item and she said no and it only applies to Target.com. Which I thought was odd since their policy states: IN TARGETS so that means In Store. Another employee (possibly manager) don't recall her name, was called over and when I showed her the store policy and how Target honors other competitors. She began to say that Target does not do price matching during Cyber week. I asked her to show me where in their store policy does it state that they don't price match. She just kept repeating herself. I even went a step further after leaving the store to call their 1800 guest services number and spoke to a supervisor who then told me that Target DOES price match DURING cyber week. Target employees have no clue about their store policy and even after being questioned they started making up their own rules. Clueless. FOR ALL THOSE HOLIDAY SHOPPERS! Normally I hate...and yes I know hate is a very strong word, but its true....going in to Target. Ever since they started changing thier floor plan around to look like your in some upscale store but knowing all the while your not...has totally turned me off. Fortunately for the one in Pinole, I don't completely want to stab myself for going inside. One great thing they have going on is that thier public restroom is at the front of the store to your right as walk in. Ah yeah..Genius! You don't understand how many times I 've to have a little tinkle time...and can't find where the heck in Timbuktu the bathroom is located. Another plus is even though it seems humongous on the outside ( mostly cause of the parking lot) once you are in...its not as daunting walking around to find what you need. Since I was only doing some scanning for points around the store I found myself enjoying my time and on top of that ran across a candle that I cant wait to burn in the fall. Not a bad target overall, USUALLY friendly staff. There's not many places that I go that I run into many rude people that bump into you etc. but here is TERRIBLE for that. I shop mind my business people will push your baskets out the way before they say excuse me. I also shop with my grandma sometimes and workers will not even acknowledge her when she's asking a question because she's so quiet. I don't like that . Workers have done this to me as well, nobody has manners nowadays don't usually bother me but EVERY time I go here I get at least 3-4 rude customers/employees. I think we can all agree that Target is amazing yes? I love it. Just not this one. So like any chain I review, it's not so much about the company, it's about the location and that specific store/restaurant. I hardly ever review stores, but I felt like I had to after last night's trip. The Target in Pinole is ALWAYS a mess. In the juniors section, on top of the mess of clothes, I found an open, half eaten poptart on top of one of the shelves (I wish I would have taken a picture). One of the shirts I picked up had foundation around the collar. And the shoe section?? What a nightmare!! Check out the pics I posted. We lost count of how many boxes did not have the correct shoe that was supposed to correspond with the picture on the box. I tripped twice trying to walk through there. Last week, there were 3 young female employees just standing and talking to each other in the women's department. I asked one of them where I could find biker shorts, and she just turned around and said, "I don't think we have those anymore", and turned right back around to continue talking. Ummmm, you dont think? Can you check??? Can you at least pretend to be interested? I've worked in retail, so believe me, I get it. It's not glamorous, but you really shouldn't be working there if you're just going to chat with your arms crossed the whole time. I know people will continue to keep going to this Target, but I hope this review (and pics) will catch some attention of the store manager, or corporate. I live 5 minutes away, and would rather drive to the one in concord or on gilman which are both 15 minutes away, just so I don't have to deal with the mess of the store. This upgrade in stars is because of the Super Excellent drive up service. I've found shopping online keeps me from overspending and the ultra efficient drive up service makes a Target run an absolute breeze. I still get to take advantage of the special offers if the apply and my day isn't spent roaming the store putting impulse buys in my cart. I've used this device a few times now and I don't think I'll go inside unless I have to. It's just that good. read more

I've gone here quite a bit for the last 3 years since I moved to the bay. I don't know why the Bay Area has poor grocery stores compared to other states but here we are. Where do I start?: Park close to the store because your car will get broken into. Make sure nothing is showing in your car. The produce will expire before it's expiration date. Right now I'm looking at a T-Bone steak I just purchased that has an expiration date 4 days from today. It smells like it's been rotting for a week. This isn't the first time their meat has expired well before the expiration date. For me, I've found that the meat will expire 2-4 days before the printed date about 1/4 of the time. The milk won't make it to the date either. I've adjusted my fridge thinking it was me. But my parents have had the same issue. I think their employees who stock the produce allow the crates to sit in the receiving area for an entire day or two before putting them in the freezer or cooler storage. Twice I've seen a massive fight break out while I'm waiting in line to pay for my groceries. One of the incidents, a lady employee and a customer started fighting and I can't begin to speculate why that happened. I've had multiple times where the employees were standing right behind me in the self checkout line making me feel like a thief. Normally they stand quite a way back. Other than that it's a normal target. Overpriced goods for no reason and idk why I came here so many times. Right now I'm still looking at my T-Bone steak wondering why it smells like rotten eggs when I just bought this thing yesterday. Well, this is my go to store because it has what I want when I want it. But, this is for the ability to order goods online and pick them up. What a lifesaver. I really appreciate them. One or two times, I had to wait for a long time and once I freaked out because my app said that I had picked up my purchase, even though I hadn't. But most of the time, it works out pretty good. The drive through service is something that I'll continue to use after all this is over. The only gripe was during the summer when I ordered a tiny fan. I created an order around a fan, that they didn't have. That upset me because I would have cancelled the order, had I known. Also, the app said they had fans, in one ungodly color, so I figured I'd lucked out. It was soooo hot that it angered me, so they lost a star for that, otherwise, it's all been good. read more

This is one of my favorite Targets because of their bathroom. I'm into scat and this bathroom delivers. If you're into scat, you'll love this bathroom too. It's like they decorated with sh$t...literally. It's on the floor and the walls and the ceiling. The door knobs and sinks are covered in it.
