I began shopping at the Dollar Tree since the 99 cent store went out of business. There is no produce sold at Dollar Tree. I had to shop at Dollar Tree due to Alka 65 Alkaline Water being sold there. For $1.25 per bottle it is worth getting Alka 65 Alkaline Water there than anywhere else. The shopping cart at Dollar Tree has a pole which prevents people from taking the cat outside. What I dislike about this location are the birds flying around. I don't understand how there are plenty of birds flying around the parking lot and I ran, I ran so far away. read more

Pretty basic Dollar Tree. Something new to me was that you can pick up Amazon orders at this location, according to the sticker on the door. The store was decently stocked but it's the holiday season, so I wonder if that's why it isn't fully stocked. The workers were efficient and got the job done! read more

There's so many Valentine's Day things right now !! Get them before their gone ! Balloons , gifts , chocolates , bears , etc ! Nice workers most of the time! They change out so often so if they aren't the nicest they won't be there long usually anyways. They have a great parking lot situation there's one on the side of the store as shown in the picture, and in front of the store they are both shared parking with other stores nearby ! I came here to pick up a picture that my sister accidentally left here. And I usually don't like these stores because when they are newly open, they still somehow look filthy. I happened to notice the cleanliness of the store and was impressed. And while it took the cashier a bit to find the pic, he found it and gave it to me for 99 cents - a total joke. But still, I see why my sister came to this location. It's clean, well laid out, didn't have crap all over the floor. Just my type of store. read more

I'm not a Dollar Tree afficionado, but if I need to get in, get food or household good, and get out, Dollar Tree tends to be a good one to go. So here we were, on our way to Marin and needed to stop to get some snacks and Cokes, and I remembered that there's a Dollar Tree somewhere in the same shopping center as Food Maxx. My good impression of this Dollar Tree started when we first got off the freeway on the exit *before* Fitzgerald Drive: * Only 1-2 minutes drive from I-80, on the corner of Fitzgerald & Appian Way - even if you have a red light or two * Lots of parking * Larger space than many Dollar Trees * You don't feel crammed in here, but you do see that it's stuffed with merchandise * Clean, clean, clean * Friendly staff Bonus: Not only did we get our sweet and salty snacks and Cokes for the outdoor movie, but my daughter excitedly snagged a toy gun. One young lady customer smiled big at the sight. MAGA. This is one of the better Dollar Trees I've visited, and if you live in the northern East Bay, this is a great stop for the stuff you need without straining your budget. read more

My mom had a really disheartening experience at this dollar tree store this morning. An employee named Mark was very rude to her, didn't allow her to even finish any questions she had he just kept cutting her off and being rude. What kind of customer service is this? Was it because she is older or Hispanic? Or is this person just like that because either way he SHOULD not be working with the public. My mom tried asking him something not once, not twice, not even 3 times but FOUR and every single time he cut her off and didn't even let her finish her sentence. That is not okay. What can I get for a buck? Wooo wee a whole lot!! On a budget and tight on money? Here's the place to go! I've came here several times, just to buy my daughter school supplies, wrapping paper, gift bags and cards. I've saved plenty of money through the years by coming here. They literally have almost the same stuff as typical grocery stores but only for a dollar. What's cool is they added frozen items to the store just like target. I haven't purchased any of their items yet but I just happened to notice they had a variety of frozen food. This weekend I stocked up on foil, festive trays, gift bags for Xmas, and junk food aka (chips,candy,popcorn) for movie night at my cousins house. In all I paid a whopping 12.00. I was at this Dollar Tree yesterday when they were getting a big truck delivery. I needed a white poster board. They had green, hot pink and blue..no white. I decided to call before I went this morning and received a busy signal for 10 straight mins before I got there. I went straight to area ..still no white. I called the number and "Mark" the mgr answer phones. I told him what I needed he came out of office on the phone and said let me check..returned and said only has other colors no white. I said that could have saved me a trip here if I could have reached someone by phone. He said that we use phone for data also. This place got lots of stuff and great bargains for $1.00. Place is well stocked but be weary of what you pay is what you get. For example they have tupperware for $1.00 but the thickness are equivalent to 2-liter soda bottle; they're probably good for a few use. Their cleaning product are good but some of their items you have to look carefully or you'll be fooled. For example, they have a furniture spray cleaner that looks exactly like Pledge, but when you look closer it's not. Else for party planning and one time use, you can't beat it read more

Waited in line with 2 items just to have to Change lines because the cashier said she was going to be taking a while with a customer. (Including leaving and getting something from the back room ) Changed to the only other register open. And waiting 10 more minutes. This dollar store's inventory is heavily weighted towards food items, and particularly CANDY! Movie size boxes of brand name candy, like Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, Whoppers, Milk Duds, Reese's Pieces, Butterfinger, Nestle Crunch Bits, Swedish Fish, Dots, Andes Mints, etc. Whenever I find myself in the area, usually post-In-N-Out or Best Buy, I have a habit of stopping by to stock up on sweets, just to have on hand around the house. At the Pinole Dollar Tree you'll also find a very robust seasonal section right at the front door when you walk in, be it for Halloween or Xmas, there are tons of decorations, gift bags, boxed card sets, candy, trinkets, costume accessories, and the like. My goto spot when I need some cheap, holiday decorations for the house. There's lots of random household stuff like buckets or aluminum foil as well. This location is also one of the cleaner and more organized dollar stores I've ever been to. My only complaint is that there's always been only one register open whenever I've been here. This means that there's always a long line just to buy dollar stuff. It's a minor complaint as it goes by fast but I wish I didn't have to wait so long. Employees are really nice and helpful; however, this store is a mess! Every time i visit, shelves are either disorganized or bare; i can pretty much count on half the items on my list to be out of stock. Maybe they're understaffed, or the store serves too many people. I shop at other DTs, and the one in Concord is clean, so is Martinez. El Sobrante seems a little crammed, but i was still able to find everything. This Dollar Tree location is decent. There's plenty of parking, the store itself is of decent size, and it is well-stocked. It's a good place to go to when you're in need of basic items. Stationary supplies, pens, mailing supplies, etc. are some of my favorite things to buy here. It's also a great place to buy holiday decorations and DIY materials. Although it's a great place to buy things for lower prices, it can get very crowded, especially in the evenings. There will be pockets of areas that are completely packed, so there's no way to get through for a few minutes. When there's high traffic in the store, there are also long lines, as there are typically only two registers open at a time. Regardless, I've never had any issues at this store, and I will continue to shop here for basic items. read more

While this dollar tree had a good amount of selection, is in a convenient location, plenty of parking, etc., customer service truly lacks. None of the employees really seem too happy to be approached or spoken to. However, what really threw me off was changing my mind about which balloons I wanted. Brendalynn made it very obvious she was annoyed by this request (rolled her eyes, and said "its going to mess up my inventory now but I GUESS") What the heck? Holy cow I was so surprised by such a rude reaction, that I wanted to return everything I just bought. Like was it really that big of deal? Initially, I was only going to give this place 2 stars but since I can't deny that I frequently come here, I feel it's only fair that I at least give a sold 3 star rating. I never had a problem with the Dollar Tree before. In fact, I usually love dollar stores, especially when i need to buy storage units or hair accessories, such as hair ties and bobby pins, even nail art pens. A few weeks ago, I went a little too crazy and picked up about 10 of these Maybelline Dream Mousse eyeshadows, which I had heard YouTube beauty gurus raving about in the past. I immediately thought I was grabbing those bad boys for a steal so I grabbed almost every color and rushed home, excited to put them to use. When I got home, I opened one of them, took my finger to swatch the color to test the payoff and... IT WAS HARD AS A ROCK. Mind you, this was a Dream MOUSSE eyeshadow. MOUSSE! I was SO disappointed and upset that I frantically searched for my receipt to check their return policy and to my surprise, the receipt stated NOTHING about their return policy at all. I couldn't decide whether or not to test the other products I purchased but I figured I wouldn't risk it and just return them all. I headed back over to the Dollar Tree the following day and the cashier who rung me up the previous day was friendly since she remembered me but who I'm assuming is her manager, came over and told me that THEY ACCEPT NO RETURNS, ONLY EXCHANGES. So there I was.. $10 poorer, and circling the store for over 20 minutes trying to decide on 10 items to exchange my rock hard MOUSSE eyeshadows for. Yes, I am sure I will be back when I need more storage units but here's a tip - DON'T EVEN RISK BUYING THEIR MAKEUP OR FOOD - YOU DON'T KNOW HOW OLD THAT SH/T IS! This place is ok. Hell, it's the Dollar Tree. You can't be too picky. I wouldn't buy any food here. In fact, I was surprised to see that they sold food here....like fruit and veggies. A lot of processed food junk, that no one should be consuming anyway. It's good if you want cheap candy, cards, balloons, party stuff, kids things. I don't know why this place gets such low ratings. I mean, it's not phenomenal stuff, but it's pretty amazing for a buck! For $40 I can get an amazing array of things for a birthday party that have the kids totally excited, e.g. nurf footballs, bubble soaps (6 to a pack), baseball w/bat, a slew of silly projectile toys, multipacks of clay, etc. Their book selections aren't horrible, either! And for the holidays, these guys are where it's at. Halloween, Christmas, 4th of July, they've got you covered for all the things you need but really don't want to pay full price for. Costume stuff, candy, boxes, ribbon, candles, flags... go there first, and then get whatever else you need elsewhere, along with some treat for yourself using the $$$ you save. read more

Today, the hottest day of the year, so far: It took me 15 minutes to shop and 30 minutes standing in the long, long line. There was one checker working feverishly. We asked her to call another checker and also turn on the air conditioning, as it was well over 85 degrees in the store. She said her supervisor was on the phone and the air conditioning was broken. I asked her if we could at least open the doors to get some fresh air. She said that it was not allowed. We asked her if she had an electric fan. She said they didn't have one. When the supervisor emerged from the office, she didn't even apologize for the delay. Also, a shop-lifter ran out of the store and the supervisor sent the only checker to chase her through the parking lot. I called Dollar Tree's hotline to complain and had to leave a message on an answering machine, After an hour with no reply, I called in a complaint to OSHA. That poor little checker was almost in tears, having to work so hard with an angry line of customers in the intense heat with no fresh air, and a supervisor who took her leisurely time to help with the long line of customers. Otherwise, it's a great store with great products. I can't say I approve of the way they treat their employees. read more

Went in today to get some items to make little Valentines day gifts. The store was a mess, every thing was disorganized and there was stuff blocking multiple isles. But thats not the reason for the one star. I go to the check out line and the cashier named Charron is being super nice to the customers in front of me smiling and having a good time. She gets to me and i smile and say "hello, how are you doing today?" And she just gets all stone faced and says "fine" with a ton of attitude. So she's scanning my items and she looks at me and asks if i need a bag, again with a ton of attitude. So i say "yes please" because damn being nice isn't hard. So she rolled her eyes at me and then proceeded to throw my unbreakable items into the bag. She then sloppily wraps my breakable items so they aren't even protected. She finally takes my cash and finishes ringing me up. I say "thank you, have a good day." As i'm taking my change from her and again she rolled her eyes and just started helping the next customer. Like seriously lady wtf did i do to you?? Ugh. Not going back unless i absolutely need to. I get that customer service is hard i have a job as a cashier some where else. But damn you don't get to be rude to customers just because they came to shop! read more
