I have never had a better experience at a store doing an exchange! I shop mainly at dd's with many receipts to prove!! But I won't go into detail but a return I needed to do...not money back, just exchange but since it was a fry pan I used Once ....i was told at another store, I couldn't bring back! As an 83 yr old woman....i wouldn't give up! I called another DD's and an asked for a mgr! Well, an absolute amazing man named Caesar took my call & heard my problem & didn't hesitate to rectify & do an exception...understanding the defect in the pan! He is what a mgr is all about!! He really cares about his customers & they come first! I hope he is appreciated & he definitely saved a good patron of DD's!! Kiddos to Caesar!! If the dollar store and Ross had a child, it would be dd's. Useful bargains here on purses, kitchen gadgets and baby clothes, and two long racks of scrubs (health care uniforms). Prices are much lower than Ross, with lots of handbags in the $5.99-$10.99 range. The other clothes are of the cheapest possible quality, as opposed to Ross's odd lots and close outs, and crammed onto the racks. Then again, prices are very low: $5.99 for a turquoise velour hoodie. Wow!!! When I came here, it looked like something vomited a bunch of clothing and other knick knacks all over the place, and no one bothered to organize them. I wanted to get a simple button up blouse in a variety of solid colors. Good luck! I know that their prices are supposed to be cheap (maybe) but having to look through the racks of unsuitable, cheap, one of a kind blouses and cheap sweaters (look good, but not warming at all), wasn't worth it. But the rising disappointment as I shoved each shirt from my right to the left on the rack, became overwhelming. Especially when I remembered, I had a style of shirt that would work with my pants and cardigans. You couldn't pay me to return to this store. They obviously don't care about their customers and you can see that when you look at the care of the store. Cheap and bargain aren't the same thing. This place is cheap, but they aren't a bargain! Not really sure why the only 2 reviews there are, are bad ones. I have been meaning to check this place out for awhile but since I wanted to avoid the crowd when it first opened I decided to wait until after the new year. I went in today at around 9:30am, right when they opened. Didn't know what to expect so I was open minded. Upon walking in the store reminded me of Ross Dress for Less. The layout of it etc. I walked a little through the purse section first and the first price I saw was $8 for a price. Pretty much feeling good about the prices at that point. Then I looked through the shoes, not the most organized but did manage to find some shoes that were my size but didn't end up buying because I didn't need to. Then I went to the clothes section and holy cow , there were so many clothes to look through and choose from! I went through most of the racks and found some really cute stuff and AWESOME prices - way CHEAPER than Ross! I was really excited to try them on but decided to look at the bra and panties section first. When it was time to try on clothes, the nice lady at the fitting room helped me. The fitting rooms were nice and clean. While trying on the clothing I was really surprised at the quality of the clothing just like most stores if not better but for the price how can you complain! When I checked out I purchased, 2 bras (black and nude, push up, multi wear) for $7, blue striped shirt, polka dot shirt, floral shirt & pillow all for $28! They are all good quality and will become very useful. I was really happy with the purchase. NOTE: they don't provide plastic bags here but you can buy one if you need to. Return policy is 30 days, with tags and not worn. The cashier person and security were really nice greeted me and wished me a good day on my way out. I was very skeptical to go here, but wanted to check this place out. I wouldn't say I wish I hadn't, but I don't think I'll be coming back. The store is a complete mess. Everything is just thrown all around. I don't even recall seeing any of the sales associates making rounds to cover zones. I found some clothing items that were misplaced (size wise) and there were clothes all over the floor. The idea to have customers hang their own hangers while waiting in line is a horrible idea too. Customers won't care to hang hangers neatly, so all the hangers were just jammed in whatever way they fit. They lack customer service too. No one greeted me, the cashier was not personable; she just rang me up and sent me on my way. The only person who appeared to be doing her job correctly was the young lady in the fitting room. She was patient, kind, and followed fitting room protocol by checking all clothing items before and after my fitting and counting items to make sure that I walked out with the same amount of items I walked in with. Yes, I found some lounge clothes for great prices, but I didn't exactly enjoy my experience. I'd recommend this place if you wanna find cheap, basic clothes and items, but be sure you have a lot of patience while shopping here. read more

I went here for the first time on 10/20/2014. I did not buy anything. I felt a creepy feeling when looking at anything here. Also, I noticed customers following me, and looking at me in the store. There was one cashier, and a long line of customers. No floor associates were present. Also, there was no loss prevention door guard present. The merchandise is cheaper in price, and a lower grade than what is being sold at Ross. Ross is the sister store in this company that runs DD's Discounts. This store was not organized, or neat. There were open packages everywhere, and the contents were spread all over the place. Mens neckties were hanging on the rack that were tied at one time around someone's neck. I am more comfortable shopping at Ross, and thrift stores. At thrift stores, nobody follows me or gives me funny looking stares. The people who were following me also has a stoned appearance like they were on drugs. Even the flea market is better to shop than this place is. I do not recommend this place, and won't ever come back. This place is a ghetto, and it is not safe to shop here. read more

Every time I come to DD's I find new great deals that I could not have imagined! This store is WAY better than any of the Ross stores that I have ever been in. I always leave DD's spending much ore money than I planned to going in. They have much nicer items than other discount stores, and get new shipments everyday. The staff seems somewhat oblivious to what's going on & when there is a customer at the register waiting...but they aren't breathing down my neck when I'm shopping which I appreciate. I think that the store is as organized as it can be for a discount store. I love the promotions that DD's has to give away gift cards, etc. That will deff keep me shopping here! read more

Tons of great deals, (TONS)but if it's a busy day, you may encounter a line that curves through the store. It can get quite crowded & customer service isn't the best (hence the long lines, there's only one or two checkers). But, there are tons of awesome items that are worth the wait (if you have the patience/time). read more

Was told about this place by a co-worker. A 2-piece scrub set for $10.99. Definitely a deal. But because I'm not the same size on top and bottom, I opted for separates. Got a few scrub tops for work $5.99 and $6.99, bottoms were $9.99. Totally beats going to a uniform store where you pay at least $20.00+ for pants OR tops. Today's date is 12/12/2018. I never ever shop at DD Discount Store, it is unorganized. But since I work close to their store I decided to visit. I decided to visit the Richmond Store near Hilltop Shopping Center. While shopping I noticed three Latina speaking in Spanish. I said, "excuse me ladies, do any of you work here"? One of the ladies said sorry but no maam? So my response was opps sorry to have bothered you. I continued shopping, but I was in the same area, and noticed the name tag on stock clerk She never acknowledged me even though she looked me in my eyes, or tried to help me even though she was an employee. So I asked her since you work here why did you refuse to assist me, when I asked for help, and also do you know what customer service refers to? She said, what do you need? I can help you. I do not care if she is pregnant, customer service will often include a combination of the following tasks: Answering customer enquiries or passing them on to the appropriate department. Giving information and helping to solve customer problems, a smile, and it would Not hurt to be kind to everyone, no matter their race, religion..... I did contact Amir the assistant store manager who apologized, and said he would speak to the pregnant stock lady. The only reason I have shared this story is I am sure this is not the first time this pregnant stock clerk has ignored other people who are not Latino. This behavior is happening all the time, but I complained. I wonder does Corporate know this young pregnant stock clerk/ lady IS using such practices? read more

I went yesterday to DD's Store at Richmond and I had the worst experience ever. I will not go back to this store. The cashier was rude and unprofessional. I was shopping with my family and had my 3 kids with me and they saw how bad cashier was talking to me. She was upset because I told her that she was charging me the same item twice. She told me "NO" and I catch another item that she charge twice and took that out but the one I told her she said "NO". I did not wanted to argue with her in front of my kids, so I told her "ok fine", but when she printed out the receipt I could not avoid checking it again and saw that she definitely was charging that item twice. She did not wanted to give me my money back and wanted to give me a store card. I refuse to receive a store credit I wanted my money back because I told her before I made the payment and she was very rude and aggressive. Grab the receipt and said no is not the same item and I told her if you let me show it to you, you will see it. She ask for my ID,I took this as offensive because I am Latina she thought I did not had documents, so I did took my ID and she just grab it and throw it back to me at the counter. I was getting mad and did raise my voice to tell her to not talk to me the way she was talking and she threats me that she was going to call the police and that she was going to kick me out of her store. I ask to talk to her supervisor and she respond that she was the store manager at that time. I will never recommend this store ever to anyone. read more
