My husband and I bought our new home a year ago. We wanted to add a bar counter in our kitchen since we love to have our friends and family hang out while we are cooking. A friend of our recommended StatusWood. We are so INCREDIBLY happy with the final product. The wood is so beautiful and unique. It's exactly what we wanted. StatusWood just knew and understood what we were looking for! Thank you so much for making our ideas come to reality. Everything was perfect from the moment we met them to finding this custom piece to the installation. Thank you!
Believe the hype. I needed a mantel for my fireplace so that it would be safe to install a TV above it. I called a few places that came up on yelp when I search for "mantel" - a couple carpenters that never called me back and a stone cutter that recommended I find some remnants at low cost - but they weren't. Enter StatusWood. They answered the phone right away, quoted me a price on the phone based on my dimensions ($300) and made an appointment to see the place to estimate total cost installed (an additional $200). The work was done less than a week later and I love it. Since my initial call, I've also hired them to build a custom tabletop ($500) as well as as custom stair treads for my spiral stairs. Everything is Douglas fir and I love it. See photos. One downside is that since they've become so popular it's taking a little longer to get orders made... I have an order in with them now and I'm hoping to hear back soon.
Best find EVA! As everyone else here raves... it's true. Craftsmanship, fine materials, attention to detail, RESPONSIVENESS and oh just good peoples! Ilys is a perfectionist, bright and creative.. i gave him my vision and he and the team created it and delivered a week ahead of schedule ... I Wanted a solid slab, live edge but just couldn't afford one... He took 5 boards and the table now looks like a solid slab, but within budget! Taking my design tweaks to his ironwork made the table... it's a stunning 9x4ft live edge table with legs wrapping around the top and inset flush.... it LOOKS like a million bucks! I'll be going back to his team for more wood and metal work... Oh the things I am already dreaming up!! What a true Gem! Ilys and his team are AMAZING!
Status Wood is AMAZING! We wanted something special for our new breakfast nook and we also needed a custom size. I looked everywhere and so glad we found Ilya and Natalia! They were fantastic to work throughout the process: discussing our existing furniture styles and the space; reviewing the myriad of options for a base; selecting the wood slab to use; choosing the finish; delivery & installation. The end result looks incredible. We loved the look of the 'live edge', but because our space was small, we opted for a traditional squared frame. Ilya beveled the edge so that the 3" thickness didn't look too massive - it came out great. Natalia was incredibly helpful in helping us select the slab to use and assuring that we picked one with lots of 'movement' in the grain. Even though they were swamped with many projects, they knew we were trying to get the table in time for a family event and they made sure it was delivered ahead of schedule - less than 4 weeks in total for the whole process. The cost was extremely competitive - cheaper than what we would have paid for a mass produced table at most furniture stores and created exactly to our specifications. We essentially have a functional PIECE OF ART that everyone who has seen it loves. There are very few places that I would recommend enthusiastically without any reservations, but Status Wood is definitely one of them!
StatusWood is amazing. I knew exactly what I wanted our dining room table and bench to look like, but hadn't found it after 4+ months of searching. They were able to show me an example of walnut finish and geometry in their showroom that was just like what I wanted. They told me it would take up to three weeks to get the job done, but called me back 4 days later saying it was ready. When they delivered it and set it up, the people were great. There was a minor finish issue on the top of the table surface that got missed, so they came back out and made it perfect the next week. Awesome quality, awesome customer service. And every day I come home and see my table it puts a smile on my face.
Great experience buying a dining room table from Ilya of StatusWood. We needed a large table for an outdoor patio in our backyard and Ilya was very patient with questions and, ultimately, recommendations as to what would work in an outdoor setting. His team's craftsmanship is extraordinary and we could not be happier with what is a stunning piece in our yard. Interestingly, we had a slight problem with the table's finish after a few weeks and Ilya was impressively responsive in helping to diagnose the problem. He fixed the problem at no cost to us and showed pride of craftmanship which was very impressive. I look forward to returning as a customer and could not recommend their business any higher.
Absolutely in love with our new live edge redwood dining table & bench! We talked to Ilya for half an hour describing what we wanted, he was most helpful in discussing material, price, and importantly the leg options. They had two pieces of the redwood slab in the 6' size we wanted for us to chose. Fyi his wood is also sourced within 100 miles of the area - from fallen trees to reclaimed wood aka sustainable. Eta 2 weeks since they had the pieces... but 6 days later, the final piece was delivered and assembled in our home! There was some cracks: a major one was stabilized with a bow tie inlay, and smaller ones filled with black resin to match our legs. The bench had one secured with a bolt and glue, but not filled to retain the natural look. Ilya gave us exactly what we wanted when looking for a matching bench - wide, thick, live edge on both sides = perfect! My husband was skeptical about paying extra for a customized live edge wood table however we visited their workshop and he was swayed. We compared the product to what you could purchase at the local furniture stores (IKEA, Scandinavian Designs, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Living Spaces, Macy's, Crate & Barrel) & other custom made studios. Highly recommended for their service & quality. We will definitely purchase more pieces in the future ~
ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE! This table is everything we dreamed of. Illya and his team were kind and patient in getting our vision right - even through an email miscommunication about what we wanted. The craftsmanship, creativity and attention to detail that was put into this design is obvious. They even made us a matching bench to go with the table! We also love that StausWood is a family run business. Five stars+
My wife and I visited Status Wood after several phone conversations with Ilya. We met with Ilya and his wife they were very helpful in showing us several options. We came across a beautiful table he had created which was on display. Our first thoughts was that it was sold but it was available. We immediately fell in love with this piece of artwork and negotiations began. Ilya informed us that this piece of wood was his very first piece when he started his business. We came up with the idea of having a custom made bench to match the table it turned out "AWESOME" Definitely will be doing business in the future.
Worked with Ilya to custom make my kitchen table. We worked together to select a slab that would work best in our kitchen area that wouldn't take up too much space but would still give a nice pop to the area. They are very knowledgable and easy to work with. The table was completed a few weeks after we decided on all the specs. The delivery was quick and very professional. Excellent service and beautiful product! Can't wait to buy more pieces in the near future for the rest of the house. Highly recommend!
We were looking for a local Bay Area Craftsman to make a custom wooden table and bench and found statuswood. We went to their public hours at their build site and once we worked through a slight communication glitch, we were able to see examples of wood and styles that helped us make our decision. The product is beautiful and a much better quality and price then what you would get mass-produced. Their delivery and set-up was done by professional and thoughtful team members.
Great products and great customer service/response time. We made an appointment to visit the workshop (we happen to live 5 min away) and speak with Ilya. I love the no-nonsense, no fluff talk with Ilya. He will give you information about the different types of wood and work with you on the style you want within the budget you have. We wanted a live edge table for a dining table and I was drawn to 1 in the workshop (acacia wood) - it just needed to be 80in. (It was 96 originally). It was delivered and we loved it, but we didn't notice until a day later that it was a little too short and when we measured, it was cut to 72in. I emailed Ilya and he was very quick to respond by apologizing and saying that they will cut us a new one that's 80in. That was great but I was slightly worried that it was not gonna "live up" to the same style as we had before - what if I liked the edges of the old one but just wasn't the right size. The new table was delivered a week later and we loved it just as much! And now in the correct length. I will definitely source my next furniture or wall art from Status Wood!

We had a great experience with Ilya and his team at Status Wood. We had a very large built in bookshelf made. I was nervous taking on a large project as a new homeowner. Ilya made me comfortable with the process and was quick and responsive to all my questions. He gave me pricing options to stay within my budget. The project was complete within a few weeks. The finished product is beautiful. read more

I had been searching for the perfect dining table for about 6 months. At this point most table start to look alike. The theme of my house was ultra modern but we needed something to keep it warm and grounded. To cut the story short we finally stumbled upon Statuswood. I was impressed on my first visit. They showed me around their working place where I saw several pieces that were in progress. Looking at their inventory and talking to Natalia And Ilya (FANTASTIC OWNERS) they were able to get a feel of what I was going for They brought me over to a van and showed me this piece of raw black walnut and it was instant I liked it Craftsmanship - after they were done it was more fabulous than I had anticipated 6 months after they delivered it I called to ask for some recommendation on how to take care of some imperfections in the wood They came over to the house fixed it themselves It was natural wood and it definitely was not their fault. I absolutely appreciate the effort 15 months pass. Because the table was beside a floor to ceiling window. And we didn't have drapes at the time the table had warped a bit. Again I asked for advise on maybe adjusting the legs They sent over people to get the table back to fix it. The table was close to 200 lbs. imagine having to take it back to the shop. Fix the problem and redeliver I offered to pay but they didn't accept. I don't do much reviews but people have to know how good this people are. read more

The fun part of our remodel was working with Natalia and Illya to bring to life an idea we had in our minds for a one of a kind wrap-around island bar. We do a lot of entertaining and love dinner parties where it's like being in a restaurant chef's kitchen - your guests sit around the kitchen as several courses are being whipped up in real time. They were amazing in concocting our custom 10 foot x 10 foot "L-shaped" reclaimed bar and matching wrapped beam. Even after it was installed the dynamic duo came out to inspect the installation..they thought a few things could be improved upon - so they redid the entire bar and came out the following week to reinstall. Who does that? They work quick, and their pricing is not budget breaking! Can't say enough good things! And to boot - they designed a matching mantel to perfectly contrast our new cement fireplace. Our great room is amazing thanks to them! read more

Had a dining table and side table made to our specifications. With a few suggested changes from Ilya and Natalia, the dining table came out awesome. A small side table came out EXACTLY as we had requested, but they didn't think it was the look we had expected. (They were right.) So they proposed some modifications and asked us to let them remake it - for no additional charge - so that we'd be happy with it. (Yes, we didn't ask, they did!) The new design (reusing most of the original materials plus an extra shelf) looked amazing. Now with two great experiences behind us, we asked them to build mirror with reclaimed wood frame. They were on it, and immediately showed us pictures of "live edge" mirrors. Loved the idea - so they showed us some gnarled up old walnut, wrapped it around a mirror, and in a few days came and INSTALLED it for us! Genuinely wonderful people. Couldn't recommend them any higher. Fantastic. read more

After emailing Natalia, she met me at the studio to go over my needs for a new dining room table for a vacation rental home in Tahoe. She pointed out the various types of tables they design, and after seeing them decided to use an already existing reclaimed wood table in their shop. The entire process was very simple, including the delivery to our home in San Mateo. The table looks amazing in the space here among the trees of Tahoe! read more

The crew at Statuswood is absolutely amazing. I called on Friday the 3rd but noone answered. To my delight, (Elia I believe) called back a short time later (after hours) to discuss my project. We agreed to meet the next day at 4pm to pick out the pieces for a reclaimed wood wall in my half bath. I arrived the next day 30 minutes early out of sheer eagerness and I was promptly greeted by a friendly lady (Natalie I think). She immediately put aside what she was working on and took me to the storage loft to check out some boards. After listening to my project proposal, she suggested a thinner width reclaimed batch and we picked out the pieces I liked. It didn't even cross my mind that they were working on the 4th of July holiday and I really appreciated their consideration! I waited in their neat showroom while the boards were cut to my specifications (which I unfortunately mucked-up and asked for cuts 20" too long, not their fault at all). They even worked with me on different payment sources as I didn't bring enough cash. If you can't already tell, I highly recommend Statuswood and am very very happy with the reclaimed wood boards I purchased! Thanks again! read more

Met with Ilya at the showroom in FC, blown away by the craftsmanship and quality of work. Before I know it, I ended up with 5 tables, and a bench! Options are Limitless, and they'll even help you with your wild ideas. Communication throughout the process, and Ilya was flexible. The delivery was superb, and tables look even better in our space. Thanks. I can't wait for my next project. read more

Elia and his team do phenomenal work. We had a custom mantle made for our fireplace and they installed it today. He was one of the only wood vendors that called me back and actually responded. It's oddly difficult to find someone to do that. We were going to wrap an 18 foot entry beam with Doug fir but my ceiling wasn't completely straight so it didn't look ideal. They were understanding even though I know he went through a lot of trouble to find a piece of wood that long. Thanks guys. We'll be back for custom furniture! read more

My husband and I had been discussing getting a console table for our entryway for a while, but every time we went furniture shopping we couldn't find exactly what we wanted. After a few times we figured we might as well just get something made to order, so we could get the details right on something we planned to keep in our house for a long time. I had reached out to a few companies that made live edge furniture, but either got no response or was told that inventory was tight/unavailable. Some friends of ours had bought tables at StatusWood and so pointed us to them. Natalia was very responsive by email, and so we went to their showroom to talk more. As soon as we walked in realized they would be able to produce what we were looking for. Ilya was extremely helpful and patient, and after hearing what we wanted (including a piece of wood that would be a bit broader on one side to deal with a notch in our wall) brought out a piece of walnut lumber and gave us an idea of what the end product would look like. Two weeks later (which I thought was pretty fast turnaround for making an item from scratch!) we have our table and it is gorgeous. The combination of beautiful source material and excellent craftsmanship produced an item that we plan to display in our house for a long time. The experience from start to finish was so excellent that I plan on reaching out to potentially discuss some outdoor furniture after we complete an upcoming renovation. I've noticed I'm not the only person on here who's mentioned that, so it looks like that's a pattern. Thank you Natalia and Ilya! read more

I couldn't be more obsessed with the dining table was delivered this afternoon by Ilya. I saw a post on craigslist last week for a table and sent a message. He responded right away and answered a few questions and told me he had a show room not far away if I wanted to check out my options in person. He was ridiculously responsive and met me at the showroom where I selected the wood and the base for my table (and also picked out a console table). When he told me it will be ready in a week I didn't really believe him (what kind of custom table can be ready in a week?) But five days later he told me my table was ready for delivery. It was delivered two days after that. And it's so much more beautiful then I could have imagined and I'm looking forward to decades of dinners like this on our beautiful tables for years to come. read more

My husband and I can't express how much we love our new dining table from Status Wood! Ilya and Natalia is superb in customer service and super easy to work with. We visit the shop for the first time back in February. They listen to what we need, keep our budget in mind and keep us posted when they come across material that we might be interested in. We asked if we need to put down deposit for them to start looking for material, but Illya said we don't pay until the table is at our house and we are satisfy! Now, THAT'S supreme customer service!!! Details about my experience: I wanted live edge walnut dining table that's about 6 ft long and at least 42" wide with a limited budget. Ilya explained it will be over my budget if I want a single slab, as I cannot stretch my budget anymore he showed me some redwood single slab tables that will fit my budget but most of them has the red undertone that I don't like. I explain to Ilya that I want the rich brown color and he said old growth redwood will have the brown color I am looking for. I also want more linear grain with minimal to no knots on it. Ilya understands what I want and he said he will keep us posted when he comes across any potential slabs. And Ilya is so nice that he would meet me at the wood yard to show me what he thinks might work, even on his kid's birthday!! There were a couple ones that look good but finding one that is at least 42" wide and doesn't vary much in width is a bit tough, those I saw were a few inches too narrow. Fast forward a few months, when we went to Illya's shop again to take a look at a redwood slab that they have, we saw a 10 ft table that's made of two narrow slabs of walnut at Illya's shop that's 44" wide. Although the live edge was cut off and it was just a rectangular table, but the moment I saw it I just fell in love with it! It was a table that was made for another customer that later changed her mind. Guess what? Ilya told me he would cut 6 ft out of that table and sell it to me since he can tell how much I love it! No words can explain how happy I was when Ilya told me that! Although it ended up to be at my max budget without the live edge I originally want, but I was going for a live edge that doesn't vary in width much due to practicallity anyways, and walnut is on my top priority!! He even let me pick which side of the 6 ft I want!! How awesome is that?!? Ilya asked how I want the leg to be and his crew delivered and assembled the table within a week! His crew is also super polite, professional and quick on assembling the table. I took these pictures with my phone and they do not do the table justice! The table in person is way more beautiful than showed in these pictures! I would do business with Status Wood again anytime! read more
