I had been searching for the perfect dining table for about 6 months. At this point most table start to look alike. The theme of my house was ultra modern but we needed something to keep it warm and grounded. To cut the story short we finally stumbled upon Statuswood. I was impressed on my first visit. They showed me around their working place where I saw several pieces that were in progress. Looking at their inventory and talking to Natalia And Ilya (FANTASTIC OWNERS) they were able to get a feel of what I was going for They brought me over to a van and showed me this piece of raw black walnut and it was instant I liked it Craftsmanship - after they were done it was more fabulous than I had anticipated 6 months after they delivered it I called to ask for some recommendation on how to take care of some imperfections in the wood They came over to the house fixed it themselves It was natural wood and it definitely was not their fault. I absolutely appreciate the effort 15 months pass. Because the table was beside a floor to ceiling window. And we didn't have drapes at the time the table had warped a bit. Again I asked for advise on maybe adjusting the legs They sent over people to get the table back to fix it. The table was close to 200 lbs. imagine having to take it back to the shop. Status Wood is AMAZING! We wanted something special for our new breakfast nook and we also needed a custom size. I looked everywhere and so glad we found Ilya and Natalia! They were fantastic to work throughout the process: discussing our existing furniture styles and the space; reviewing the myriad of options for a base; selecting the wood slab to use; choosing the finish; delivery & installation. The end result looks incredible. We loved the look of the 'live edge', but because our space was small, we opted for a traditional squared frame. Ilya beveled the edge so that the 3" thickness didn't look too massive - it came out great. Natalia was incredibly helpful in helping us select the slab to use and assuring that we picked one with lots of 'movement' in the grain. Even though they were swamped with many projects, they knew we were trying to get the table in time for a family event and they made sure it was delivered ahead of schedule - less than 4 weeks in total for the whole process. The cost was extremely competitive - cheaper than what we would have paid for a mass produced table at most furniture stores and created exactly to our specifications. We essentially have a functional PIECE OF ART that everyone who has seen it loves. There are very few places that I would recommend enthusiastically without any reservations, but Status Wood is definitely one of them! read more

Believe the hype. I needed a mantel for my fireplace so that it would be safe to install a TV above it. I called a few places that came up on yelp when I search for "mantel" - a couple carpenters that never called me back and a stone cutter that recommended I find some remnants at low cost - but they weren't. Enter StatusWood. They answered the phone right away, quoted me a price on the phone based on my dimensions ($300) and made an appointment to see the place to estimate total cost installed (an additional $200). The work was done less than a week later and I love it. Since my initial call, I've also hired them to build a custom tabletop ($500) as well as as custom stair treads for my spiral stairs. Everything is Douglas fir and I love it. See photos. One downside is that since they've become so popular it's taking a little longer to get orders made... StatusWood is amazing. I knew exactly what I wanted our dining room table and bench to look like, but hadn't found it after 4+ months of searching. They were able to show me an example of walnut finish and geometry in their showroom that was just like what I wanted. They told me it would take up to three weeks to get the job done, but called me back 4 days later saying it was ready. When they delivered it and set it up, the people were great. There was a minor finish issue on the top of the table surface that got missed, so they came back out and made it perfect the next week. Awesome quality, awesome customer service. Absolutely in love with our new live edge redwood dining table & bench! We talked to Ilya for half an hour describing what we wanted, he was most helpful in discussing material, price, and importantly the leg options. They had two pieces of the redwood slab in the 6' size we wanted for us to chose. Fyi his wood is also sourced within 100 miles of the area - from fallen trees to reclaimed wood aka sustainable. Eta 2 weeks since they had the pieces... but 6 days later, the final piece was delivered and assembled in our home! There was some cracks: a major one was stabilized with a bow tie inlay, and smaller ones filled with black resin to match our legs. The bench had one secured with a bolt and glue, but not filled to retain the natural look. Ilya gave us exactly what we wanted when looking for a matching bench - wide, thick, live edge on both sides = perfect! My husband was skeptical about paying extra for a customized live edge wood table however we visited their workshop and he was swayed. We compared the product to what you could purchase at the local furniture stores (IKEA, Scandinavian Designs, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Living Spaces, Macy's, Crate & Barrel) & other custom made studios. I love the no-nonsense, no fluff talk with Ilya. He will give you information about the different types of wood and work with you on the style you want within the budget you have. We wanted a live edge table for a dining table and I was drawn to 1 in the workshop (acacia wood) - it just needed to be 80in. (It was 96 originally). It was delivered and we loved it, but we didn't notice until a day later that it was a little too short and when we measured, it was cut to 72in. I emailed Ilya and he was very quick to respond by apologizing and saying that they will cut us a new one that's 80in. That was great but I was slightly worried that it was not gonna "live up" to the same style as we had before - what if I liked the edges of the old one but just wasn't the right size. Had a dining table and side table made to our specifications. With a few suggested changes from Ilya and Natalia, the dining table came out awesome. A small side table came out EXACTLY as we had requested, but they didn't think it was the look we had expected. (They were right.) So they proposed some modifications and asked us to let them remake it - for no additional charge - so that we'd be happy with it. (Yes, we didn't ask, they did!) The new design (reusing most of the original materials plus an extra shelf) looked amazing. Now with two great experiences behind us, we asked them to build mirror with reclaimed wood frame. They were on it, and immediately showed us pictures of "live edge" mirrors. Loved the idea - so they showed us some gnarled up old walnut, wrapped it around a mirror, and in a few days came and INSTALLED it for us! Genuinely wonderful people. The crew at Statuswood is absolutely amazing. I called on Friday the 3rd but noone answered. To my delight, (Elia I believe) called back a short time later (after hours) to discuss my project. We agreed to meet the next day at 4pm to pick out the pieces for a reclaimed wood wall in my half bath. I arrived the next day 30 minutes early out of sheer eagerness and I was promptly greeted by a friendly lady (Natalie I think). She immediately put aside what she was working on and took me to the storage loft to check out some boards. After listening to my project proposal, she suggested a thinner width reclaimed batch and we picked out the pieces I liked. It didn't even cross my mind that they were working on the 4th of July holiday and I really appreciated their consideration! I waited in their neat showroom while the boards were cut to my specifications (which I unfortunately mucked-up and asked for cuts 20" too long, not their fault at all). They even worked with me on different payment sources as I didn't bring enough cash. My husband and I had been discussing getting a console table for our entryway for a while, but every time we went furniture shopping we couldn't find exactly what we wanted. After a few times we figured we might as well just get something made to order, so we could get the details right on something we planned to keep in our house for a long time. I had reached out to a few companies that made live edge furniture, but either got no response or was told that inventory was tight/unavailable. Some friends of ours had bought tables at StatusWood and so pointed us to them. Natalia was very responsive by email, and so we went to their showroom to talk more. As soon as we walked in realized they would be able to produce what we were looking for. Ilya was extremely helpful and patient, and after hearing what we wanted (including a piece of wood that would be a bit broader on one side to deal with a notch in our wall) brought out a piece of walnut lumber and gave us an idea of what the end product would look like. Two weeks later (which I thought was pretty fast turnaround for making an item from scratch!) we have our table and it is gorgeous. The combination of beautiful source material and excellent craftsmanship produced an item that we plan to display in our house for a long time. The experience from start to finish was so excellent that I plan on reaching out to potentially discuss some outdoor furniture after we complete an upcoming renovation. I couldn't be more obsessed with the dining table was delivered this afternoon by Ilya. I saw a post on craigslist last week for a table and sent a message. He responded right away and answered a few questions and told me he had a show room not far away if I wanted to check out my options in person. When he told me it will be ready in a week I didn't really believe him (what kind of custom table can be ready in a week?) But five days later he told me my table was ready for delivery. We had just remodeled our kitchen, and wanted a new dining table that would bring together the dark brown furniture of our living room and the cherry wood cabinets in the kitchen. I looked at all the usual furniture suspects (West Elm, Crate Barrel/CB2, EQ3, Pottery Barn/RH) but didn't like the styles or were disappointed that most were made with cheap veneer. Based on how our last table looked, you'd think our two kids just spend their days scraping the tops with forks and crayons, so we wanted something that could take a beating. We asked what the deposit was, and she explained that we would only pay once the table was complete and we loved it. After I picked my jaw off the floor, she said the table should be ready in three weeks. After two weeks, I wrote to check in and Natalia surprised us by saying it was ready! Never had I thought I could afford a live edge table when I had first checked out a fancy store in downtown SF and a NY based store with inflated prices of nothing under 12k just for just the slab and the legs were an additional $1500! Seriously?! I guess they have to charge that much for their premium high rent store location and salary for their sales person. I had checked Ebay and Craiglists and finally stumbled across Statuswood on Yelp. I came to Ilya and Natalia with a picture of a 10ft live edge table with wish bone style legs that I was inspired by. So they did their research to find the exact legs and they drove out to Napa to find a comparable slab in a different type of wood that gave me the same look. Ok so they didn't have the fancy retail store but you can expect to get a custom made quality product for a fraction of the price! They don't have to inflate their price to pay their rent! They were SO easy to work with and did not fall short of delivering the design, the details and the price that met all my expectations. I LOVE my table! When they say your happiness is their guarantee, man they really mean it. It is their reputation. Very kind and truly honest people. HIGHLY recommended! read more

We ordered a custom designed TV stand and set of bookshelves made from reclaimed wood. It was a pleasure to work with Statuswood team from design to delivery. Originally, I referred to a design they posted on Craigslist, but we needed a much larger piece. We met the team at their shop to discuss what we want, and Natalia quickly developed a similar yet adjusted design for our requirements following the meeting. They also helped us pick the stains to match the rest of our decor. We got a chance to review the semi-finished product in the shop and make adjustments before it was delivered. We have a piece for half a year or so, and it is perfect, very sturdy and well made. Their prices were very competitive and the lead times are better than other woodshops I spoke to at the time. Free in home delivery is a huge plus compared to what you would have to pay when ordering a large scale piece from a conventional store. Although they seem to do a lot of commercial orders, I would highly recommend working with them for your private home. PS: I have to be honest, when we received the finished product, there was a small change compared to the approved designs and specs, that made the main piece taller. However, we ended up liking the change and kept it. It was not a big deal, and I still rate them at 5 stars, because they were willing to take it back to the shop and redo the piece to match the original specs if we wanted to. So in the end of the day, it only increased our trust in working with them. read more
