We bought the KYNDALL II Grey Twin/Twin Trundle Upholstered Bunk Bed in December 2024, and the top bunk recently collapsed completely onto the bottom bunk under normal use. This bed was barely used. No jumping, no misuse -- just normal use. A bunk bed should not structurally fail like this after just over a year. This is not wear and tear, it's a serious defect. The most concerning part is the safety risk. If my child had been on the bottom bunk at the time, this could have caused a serious injury. What's even more frustrating is that Living Spaces refused to help because we are just a few months outside of the one-year warranty. Hiding behind a warranty when a children's bed collapses like this is unacceptable. This is not just poor quality, it's dangerous. And the lack of accountability makes it worse. One thing to note is the warehouse is giant and so it has a tendency to make all the couches look small (when they are not). They have different price points - a "fancier" side, as an example. They have great selections of furniture in the store (from traditional to modern contemporary style). One thing I really like about this place was none of the sales person approached like sharks if you know what I mean. They let you shop in peace and I appreciate it. The sales person were there and available to answer any questions customer have. The sofa with chaise and coffee table were good quality and in my budget and affordable. I spent some time in the store looking for the perfect sofa and coffee table for my place. I purchased the sofa and coffee table online and they were delivered the next day. Wow!!! How cool is that? check your invoices closely.A mistake was made on our cal king split that I caught. We would have had 1/2 the bed frame. When we got that corrected (you need to physically go in- the phone number doesn't work) . The employees appear to not understand how the delivery system works. We were set to receive only the frames and the mattress at another unspecified time. Trip number 4 to clear things up and get correct. An apology was not given- it was just that they would fix it. Yes, I believe, as other reviewers write, that Living Spaces and their 3rd party "Five Year Protection Plan" people are hostile toward the elderly. My guess is they think that the elderly won't outlive the five years. Living Spaces covers only one year, then passes you off to a group of unreliable and rude people who set up a 4 hour window of time (5pm to 9pm) to inspect your problem, only to call up in a frenzy with all kinds of excuses, and CANCELLED 2 hours into the 4 hour window of time they gave us. This appointment took me two weeks to get in the first place. I think I can understand why they are rude. It's their job to fix the problems that customers have with the broken down furniture that LS sells to unsuspecting customers. So after one year, Living Spaces passes you off to these renegades. The elderly have virtually no chance with Living Spaces and/or their contracted repair people. The problem is that the padding in the recliner we bought in 2024 is buckling and wearing down, and is causing back problems, and as an 82 year old with osteoporosis, the worn down and buckling recliner is uncomfortable and unhealthy to use. Here's another thing. When you purchase the 5 YEAR CAREFREE FURNITURE PROTECTION, which we did at $89.25 Living spaces only covers one year. Those words are written in fine print deep inside the pamphlet. This is deceptive at best. Yes, I agree with the reviews that call out Living Spaces for rude customer service, with no sense of living up to their responsibility for the products they are selling. It took my daughter to call on my behalf to finally reach a manager, after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes. Yes, it's the "elderly thing" . Again, my guess is they think that you won't outlive the 5 years. LS forgets that they themselves will be old someday and would want to be treated fairly. The furniture seems nice on first look but 9 days into ownership the recliner failed and they put me through a very bureaucratic and lengthy repair process rather than that just sending me a replacement. Their customer service is very poor too with 30 minute waits between responses on their chat service. I tried to cancel an order that had not shipped yet and they refused claiming I had to wait for it to be delivered and then return it at my own expense. I purchased from living spaces a mattress that was manufactured in 2018 along with some other furniture back at that time. About one week ago I did some spring cleaning and carpet shampooed the headboard, mattress and rug next to it using my extender wand. Hours later when I got home from work the bed was still wet so as I was feeling the headboard that was also wet I noticed that underneath the mattress there was a zipper. I thought it would be quicker to throw the cover into the washer and dryer. You see a zipper, there's no warning on the label so you take it off. As I was putting the mattress cover in the dryer I noticed there was cotton batting, which made me concerned because I thought maybe it would shrink and not fit back on the foam. Suddenly online as I'm reading there are constant warnings from people like me not to take the cover off because of fiberglass contamination. Sure enough when I turn the lights off there's fiberglass all over the sides of the foam sticking out like little knives all over my rug, all over the baseboard, all over the floor and fiberglass dust in the air. I will have spent approximately $10,000 once this is all finished. My insurance won't take the claim because it's called contamination. The manufacturer of the foam because they didn't put the fiberglass sock on also will not take responsibility. I called the living spaces customer service after speaking to somebody in person at the shop. and essentially they told me we did not tell you to take off the cover and I said yeah, but you also didn't tell me not to anywhere. They won't help. This is a real issue that isn't warned about widely unless you do research. I also had to replace my dryer because when I opened the door from my insurance agent to get pictures of the tags, there was fiberglass soaked on the interior. The door, on the seals everywhere! I've ordered a new dryer, a new frame, a new nontoxic mattress. We will need to buy all new bedding. The only thing I think I'm gonna be able to save are my clothes because the closet door was closed for the most part except for a crack on either side which I did see fiberglass on some of the clothes but there's no way I can throw away all my clothes and because my drawers were closed the stuff in the drawers are OK. This is also very psychologically taxing because we've had to stay in the guest bedroom while this is going on and I go in every day in the dark with a flashlight and walk around the room I've cleaned and cleaned and cleaned after having an emergency service come out and remove all the stuff and clean by the way that was $3000. Somebody needs to take responsibility that they're doing these kind of things. It's absolutely a nightmare and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I still have fear about the blinds because I believe that it's settled in the blinds and I'm fearful that when I turn my fan on in the summer, it's going to stir up things that may have gotten into the cracks. After the professional team has come by and Stanley Steemer comes out for $1000 and cleans out my air vent and my dryer vent. I'm still gonna continue to wipe the walls down with wet towels until the new furniture comes and slowly try to mentally get myself back into that room because honestly, I'm afraid to go into the room. read more

My issues post purchase: The only delivery day offered to the area of my home only occurs one day of the week (Thursday) without choice of morning or afternoon delivery. I was not aware of this at the time of purchase. I was told this at scheduling. I had to schedule after purchase because the closing of our home was pending. I had originally scheduled and requested a late delivery time but a day prior to delivery I was given a morning delivery time. I had to reschedule the original delivery date because of a conflict with morning delivery. I rescheduled to the following Thursday with a rescheduling fee ($108). I thought about cancelling this purchase but was told there would be a 25% restocking fee. This fee on a purchase of over 6g that would have been over $1500. I decided to go ahead with the delivery paying the rescheduling fee. The delivery team arrived and did not communicate on how sectional was to be set up and attempted to place it blocking a sliding door. When wife asked to move the sectional there was eye rolling and frustration coming from the delivery team. Not professional! If this was based upon attitude I would have given this rating a 1 but since they did fix it I gave it a higher rating. Over all ratings could have been higher if there was better communication and customer service after the purchase of the product. The store salesman was helpful! At the end because of post purchase experience I can only describe It feeling like buying a used car from a shady dealer and left with buyers remorse. I wouldn't recommend special orders. I chose this store because I wanted to buy from an in-person furniture store, but I should have just bought some online furniture. I ordered a sofa + ottoman set as a special order (no returns) based on the store's spec sheet. The ottoman that was delivered didn't match the listed dimensions. After multiple calls and an in-store visit, they acknowledged the dimensions were wrong and arranged an exchange. The replacement ottoman was the same size. I later learned the ottoman size on the spec sheet didn't exist. I asked for a full refund since the sofa and ottoman were purchased as a set and I wouldn't have bought the sofa alone. After repeated follow-ups and delays, I stopped pursuing a full return. The ottoman was eventually refunded, but overall it was a frustrating and time-consuming experience. Tremendous selection of furniture in this store. Why anyone would go to Ikea at this point when this place exists is a mystery. Wonderful store. We did get every sales person in the store come up to us and say "hi" and we made it clear we didn't want any sales pitch, they walked away, although the one guy said hi to me three times. When I told them I was just browsing I guess I did not look like I was able to shoplift a sofa no one followed me around, or maybe they thought I was just looking and did not want to be bothered. I visited the store several times and found a sofa that would work for me. The salesperson came up and started my order, she told me they were out of stock. I told her I could wait, and then she said they would not get another delivery. I asked if I could buy the floor model. She told me that would be impossible. A few weeks later I returned and saw it was still sitting in the showroom. I ended up not buying anything. The store had a lot of furniture to choose from that was reasonably priced. I was disappointed that it appeared that they did not want my business: they would not sell me what I was interested in and they did not point out anything similar that might appeal to me. I admit, based on the reviews here on Yelp, I was skeptical of shopping at Living Spaces. However, my experience was actually pretty amazing. Walking in the store is definitely overwhelming so make sure you have at least an hour. It reminded me of a Costco-sized sojourn. I was impressed with the amount of variety all around the store; there were interesting rugs, a lot of different couches, and tons of recliners. They had very nice restrooms and the environment was very chill in my opinion. So for specifics, I was in the market for two leather chairs for a new place. I quickly found the ones I liked and was approached by a salesperson. It was nice because there seemed to be a LOT of them around; however, there was no pressure and she explained the shipping options pretty bluntly. I ended up ordering online from their website and was exceedingly impressed with their shipping and communication about the order. Two large recliners came in two days and their tracking system was really accurate. Compared to other companies that ship furniture, the experience of buying and having furniture here was great.
