I looked everywhere for a live edge dining room table and noting was right. My son found MaxiWoods' website so I contacted them right away. Vlad responded right away, so I arranged to meet him at their shop in Colma. Best decision ever! I explained exactly what I was looking for and Vlad made it happen. He had great advice, and found the most beautiful black walnut tabletop in the shop. He cut it to the size I needed and carved a subtle live edge on the long sides. It turned out beautifully!!! Oh, and the price was very reasonable compared to other sources. I highly recommend this business.....you won't be disappointed!

We needed to replace our table and knew we wanted a simple, blonde wood so that we wouldn't have to replace our dining chairs. We sought solid wood, ideally made in America. We wanted something simple that we wouldn't get sick of seeing in 10, 20 years - something that didn't fit a "look" (e.g. midmod, farmhouse, etc). We wanted it to seat 6-8 people. We also didn't want to break the bank. This is a lot harder to find than one would think, especially with supply chain issues - tables meeting our criteria were expensive ($4,000-7,000) and wouldn't be ready for months and months. My husband found a custom table company but they wouldn't have product ready for 40-50 weeks, and they were across the country, so delivery would be a whole thing. I decided to look up a local business who did custom tables. Enter MaxiWoods. Their website says that custom can be more affordable than one might think, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Max picked up the phone and was super friendly. I told him what we wanted, in the size that we wanted. We hung up, he texted me photos of some tabletops, I texted him my existing table top and asked for a color match. He sent me a picture of the wood they were considering for our project, and I approved. He sent me an estimate, I paid a 50% deposit, and he quoted me 2 weeks to make and deliver the table (!!!). The price point is around what you'd pay for Pottery Barn and Room & Board, and less than Lulu & Georgia. The table was delivered in less than 2 weeks. The men who delivered (I should have asked for their names) were super friendly and hauled this giant beauty up my stairs. It is a gorgeous piece of furniture that will stand up to years of meals, homework, work work, crafting. Thank you Max and Vlad! Custom wood furniture that's locally made by a family-owned business? Great quality work and very professional as well! I was in search of a couple wood slabs to match the shelves for my home library. After a quick visit and texting of pics to make sure we had the right matching wood, we agreed to move forward and they made the slabs to the right dimensions and quickly. I loved that they were local and super personable. Slabs were beautiful and matched my other shelves perfectly. I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again!

Oh, and I needed it ASAP. I searched around the Bay Area and found MaxiWoods. Checked out their site, called and spoke to Max, then went to their location in Colma and met with Vlad. Explained what I was looking for, looked over their inventory of black walnut and ended up selecting a beautiful piece and legs, too. Vlad informed me that he could have it finished and delivered in a week. Three days later, Max called, said the table was ready early and they both white-glove delivered the table. I'm more than pleased with the finished result, service was extremely friendly and professional and I can't recommend them highly enough.

We have had our table from Max & Vlad for a while now and it is stunning. There is a gold river of epoxy running through the middle of the table shimmering and mesmerizing really. The walnut is full of character and color and we just love this table very much. They do amazing beautiful work. Invest in some cool trivets to set down on the table so hot pans rest above the surface, rather than directly on the table. It will preserve the life and character of the piece. We use this table all day long and for dinner every night, it's the best. We are so happy, highly recommend this shop & team. p.s. I also use this table for food photography and it's a star.

Vlad made me a beautiful custom top for my sit-stand desk and I'm so happy with it. I had a 48" desk at home with a plain white melamine top and I wanted something that would look more attractive and less like boring office furniture. MaxiWoods replied quickly to my email, showed me some samples at their showroom the next day, and was able to make me a gorgeous custom walnut desktop in under 2 weeks. On top of that, I accidentally gave him the wrong dimensions when I first emailed, and when I let him know, he was able to add some lovely bookending to the tabletop to get it up to the necessary width. Highly recommended if you're looking for custom furniture made locally by a talented artisan.

We bought a dining table from Maxi Woods. As I understand, Vlad is the artist that crafts the furniture, he is really, really good. We have been looking for a unique epoxy table for a while, but everything we have seen so far has been too expensive or just did not look right. MaxiWoods table is awesome, you can see how much work and effort went into creating the piece. I would very much recommend Vlad's work, we had a chance to look at a lot of their inventory in the warehouse.

We had a table that was very heavy (500 lbs!) that dropped in the moving process. One of the stainless steel legs fell off and needed to reattached. The table was very unsteady and somewhat dangerous. Maxiwoods had by far the best price, and was easy to schedule with. They brought their own legs, and reattached with 12 holes for the legs. They did an incredible job - the table is now solid as a rock. I feel much safer, and we were able to save a very expensive, live edge redwood table. Thank you!! read more

I've been looking for live edge dining tables for a while. I had priced out a few from online sellers, but was concerned about quality issues, time (weeks for delivery in some cases), and prices were significant. I reached out to Maxiwoods and they were incredibly responsive and provided information about the options of wood & legs available. Cost estimate was also far better, AND it's a local business. I visited the shop once, described what I was looking for (based on examples of finished tables & unfinished wood from the shop). My table was finished and delivered in 6 days and it's gorgeous! We visited Vlad and Max at their shop and Vlad took us through some options that we have in terms of wood and finish. 6 weeks later, our table arrived and they are gorgeous! I would recommend MaxiWoods to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind furniture piece. We plan to go back for some other pieces that fit elsewhere in the house :) read more

I ordered a dining table from MaxiWoods about 2 months ago, and was absolutely terrified that what would be delivered would be very different than the gorgeous tables I viewed at their shop. It is a custom order, and hand built, so there is plenty that could go wrong. I received my table last week and it is just stunning. The care and artistry involved are obvious in this beautiful work of art. This is a table that I will be happy to keep forever. The company gets absolute top marks for 1.) keeping to the price they quoted, 2.) keeping to the schedule they stated, 3.) delivering and setting it up (including moving my old table), but all of those things pale in comparison to the stunning artistic value of the piece! I can't recommend the company highly enough. If you are looking for this type of a piece, this is the place to go. More beautiful, less expensive, and quicker delivery than anything I saw during several months of shopping, and custom made to your tastes. This is a quality company!!!!!! read more

And in our case, it was well-deserved. Eun Soon greeted us and after letting her know what we were looking for, showed us some really interesting items. She showed us a sleeper from Finland which met all our needs. It was a Luonto Nico King sleeper. It would take a few weeks to get in. Semi, the other half of the store staff, was our contact after this point and she really delivered. After the sleeper was delivered, we noticed there was a 3cm gash in the corner of one of the arms. It matched a gash in the bubble wrap so probably happened in transit. Anyway, the manufacturer was not the most responsive in getting this addressed although they filed a claim with the freight company. After the Christmas holidays, we contacted the manufacturer again who then told us they could not give us information directly and we would have to work with Furniture Innovation. Bummer since it's been weeks since they were notified. We then got in touch with Semi, who promptly put in an order for the arm, which could be replaced instead of swapping the entire sleeper. The replacement part did not match the original so a new part had to be ordered. Instead of us waiting another few weeks for the replacement, FI removed an arm from one of the same sleepers they had in the store and had the repair team come back on the same day and swap out the arm. They knew we already waited weeks for a resolution and worked out something out so we didn't have to wait even longer. We very much appreciated the extra effort on their part to make sure we were taken care of. Also, much kudos to the delivery/repair team who also went above first noticing the part was not an exact match, then came back the same day to do the repair. We would definitely go back to Furniture Innovation for future purchases, which we're already thinking about. Great people to work with.

I called the phone number several times and noone answers, and there is no way to leave a voice message. After owning it just under 4 months and not using it more than 4 days a week (as I am away visiting my family every weekend) and perhaps only 1-3 hours a day of those 4 days, I am upset that the quality of the recliners' upholstery has failed so soon, and feel as if I have wasted $400, which was the sale price for the recliner. Next time I have enough money to purchase a piece of furniture, this would be the last place I would visit, and even then I seriously doubt I would ever spend another minute or cent here. The fact that the recliner is as rarely used makes me feel duped. Do not shop here, at least for recliners anyway.

The other items I purchased all went very well together. I made this purchase in August 2025. The Maimz Loveseat with matching Ottoman, 4 Barstools, a Dropleaf Round Breakfast Table with matching 4 Chairs and assorted furniture including a bed, frame and swivel leather chair. Delivered February 21st 2026 They didn't let me know the loveseat would NOT be delivered. They canceled the order. No one knew what happened. It took over a week of me calling them. Finally someone at Corprate said they issued a refund in January, but failed to let me know through a call, text or email. There wasn't any paperwork confirming a refund transaction until March 3rd. Finally received an Email after over 8 phone calls to customer service, the store and the Philippines that the couch was discontinued. So I have an ottoman with no matching couch! Where did the refund money go? No paperwork, transaction number or notification. When asked where they sent it, they didn't know which bank account? Unacceptable follow up with nothing good in email, no detailed information at all. The worst customer service I have ever received . Sold me an an ottoman with no matching couch. That they finnaly issued a pickup for return, but never mentioned my refund! Poor excuse that it was discontinued, I had first dibs on the display couch. This was mine! Where did it go? I'm returning everything I purchased for this room from Ashley. But they are refusing to take back the barstools and Breakfast set. They left me high and dry like an empty airplane with passengers left in the terminal. The customer service is completely unacceptable. If i get one more AI Chat bot from Jenny, I'm going to scream. ---- Review I wrote when purchased: Miss Vivian is the BEST at this Colma location. She got me deals upon deals. I'll never forget the time she spent with me making my purchases, and all of the assisting staff and management. Each and every person and item is Top Notch! We drifted from aisle to aisle, pausing every few steps to point something out to each other. The international snack section alone could keep you busy for an hour. I found myself lingering over Japanese rice crackers in colorful packaging, a cheerful Hello Kitty snack assortment, and rows of German bottled sausages, and pantry staples. There were so many nostalgic and unexpected finds mixed together. I spotted White Rabbit candies--the same creamy treats I remember from childhood--right next to bottles of Kewpie mayonnaise and tins of beautifully packaged sardines that looked almost too elegant to open. Some chips had labels entirely in Asian languages, no English at all, which somehow made them even more tempting. Nearby were jars of caviar, imported cured meats like prosciutto, and shelves of specialty ingredients that made me want to plan an entire dinner party on the spot. George ended up picking out a few things to take home: delicate Bonne Maman raspberry tartelettes, a bag of traditional German Black Forest-style egg noodles (spätzle), and a box of crisp cannoli shells. I've been looking for a wood/epoxy resin table for quite some time. I was hesitant on buying one online as I wanted something unique and specific to me. I searched online for manufacturers in California and discovered Maxiwoods. I made an appointment to visit their location in Colma, CA and after talking to Max and meeting with Vlad, I decided that I wanted Maxiwoods to make my unique dining room table. I chose English Walnut with a blue river running lengthwise. During the process I was kept up to date with stunning pictures. After a few weeks my 96" x 42" table was delivered and I couldn't be happier. Max and Vlad were awesome to deal with and now I'm looking for more projects I can send to them. I love the coffee table that was made exactly to my specifications. I just received it 3 days ago and it is gorgeous. I had emailed a photo of a table I had seen online and within a few hours Max had selected two raw pieces of wood which he had laid out with a chalk outline of the dimensions I had requested. He worked with me to design it and to fit my budget. I couldn't have imagined it any more beautifully constructed. The delivery was seamless and the guys who brought it were very helpful and patient with my requests for placement. Vlad and Max are very professional, they were fast and most importantly arrived RIGHT ON TIME, we highly recommend them! We just needed help with some large items at the last minute on a 102 degree day, and they were able to negotiate a last minute reasonable rate and meet us on a Saturday afternoon between jobs. Their workshop is very nice and we were able to choose everything about the table (we wanted an unusual width and they made it work!). They also delivered faster than anticipated (~ 4 weeks).
