Furniture, house, kitchen and table ware, great selection and pricing for coffees and teas, seasonal decorations, gift wrapping, ribbons, and greeting cards, and more. They have a very small selection of seasonal wear like dresses, scarves, gloves and hats. I usually pick up a few of their scarves every season. Their big secret is their curated wine selection, a showcase of wines popular with those who know. CPWM has a huge wine sale once or twice a year. Regulars will watch for the sale and cart out cases of their favorites. My biggest shopping forays to CPWM are for birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas / NYE. I'm obsessed with this place. It's my one-stop shop for everything: from cute home decor and furniture to kitchenware and an impressively diverse snack + drink selection. Whether I'm browsing for myself or shopping for gifts, I always end up finding something fun and unexpected. This time, I walked away with the cutest tomato-shaped cookie jar, a new pitcher for lemonade, hazelnut Torani syrup for my morning coffee, and a fresh salad bowl. I lucked out as most of it was 25% off on top of the already reasonable prices. Bonus points for the thoughtful service: the cashier carefully wrapped my fragile kitchen finds in paper and boxed everything up so nothing would shift around on the way home. German cat wine, funny calendars, Christmas cookies, decorations and furniture. Lots of imports and unique items. These stores are becoming less common and you might have to travel a bit to get to one. My normal store is the Oakland location but I was at the mall nearby for some cheesecake. German cat wine. One of those things everybody likes. Well, almost everybody. I went to a friends birthday recently and quickly pulled the bottle out of a bag and put it in front of her. Somehow I don't think she was ready for a glass bottle cat to stare at her and she had a somewhat negative reaction. I think it was my fault. I pulled it out to fast. Usually its best to give the ladies a warning first. Funny calendars. I think that is a great Christmas gift. Its timely, its easy and inexpensive to ship and the people you give it to will think of you all year. I know I was gifted a Shen Yun calendar this year and every month when I flipped through the pages I would think of the person who gave me the little gift that sits on my kitchen table. Such a great place to shop during the holiday season! The pre-black friday sale meant up to 50% off items throughout the store on a Monday evening. Easy to access in the Serramonte Center, as it's not attached to the mall and has its own entrance from the parking lot. So many unique items available, from adorable animal ornaments to mushroom themed everything... I thought the Mushroom Village gingerbread cookie kit was charming. And of course I couldn't leave without a bottle of mushroom wine (half bottle of Mushroom Cabernet to be exact). Got the Chocolate Shop red wine as well, cuz ya know, I hear every chocolate lover has got to try it. Also loved the cute pop-up greeting cards and eye pillows (not pillows for your eyes, but decorative pillows designed and shaped as eyes). The workers were wonderful too, opened up another register for me even though there were only two people in line for purchases. World Market is awesome. Several of the the Cost Plus World Market stores I used to go to in California have closed down, this is one of the few remaining ones. This place is like TJ Maxx where you think you'll just get one or two items and then you end up with a cart full of stuff. However, I've come to the conclusion that I should just never buy their furniture. They often have some sort of sale going on. Their designs are cute, fit my aesthetic, and are somewhat more affordable than traditional furniture stores but when you actually sit down on the office or dining chairs you can feel that the foam is cheap and not that comfortable. I like their mirrors and wall decor section. They do a great job of selecting somewhat interesting but generic designs that will appeal to a lot of people. I could easily stage a house for sale with their stuff. I was a little disappointed with their bath section. I was trying to find matching bathroom items like a toothbrush holder, cup, trashcan and the options were slim. It makes me miss Bed Bath and Beyond. The food and drink section is where the fun is. You kinda have to know your brands and prices for foods so you don't overpay for something you could easily get at the regular grocery store. They actually do carry a variety of items from around the world. There are some brands/foods that are cheaper here than they are online. I would recommend looking at the best by dates because some items are close to their expiration dates. There were about 5 items I didn't buy because they were way too close to expiring, and I don't go through foods like an 8 oz box of chocolate sprinkles that fast. The kitchen section is colorful and enjoyable to browse. They have specialty items like the ooni pizza oven. If you need a tagine for a recipe, this would be the place to find it. Their current holiday selection of Halloween and fall decorations and foods are very good. If you want to throw a holiday party or themed dinner this is a nice place to get inspired and pick up a some unique decor, foods, or drinks. If I had the space and money, I'd buy a lot of decorations and foods here for every holiday. The parking can get pretty bad. It's at the Serramonte Center so even though the Buy Buy Baby next door has closed you have to compete with people trying to find parking for Ross, Dick's Sporting Goods, Daiso, the mall, the mall's food court, etc. Fyi, I never get my hopes up when they text me deals. I've always loved this store. Still do. Perfect place to get unique food gifts or snacks for home. I came here specifically for snacks today for bday gifts for loved ones. Nothing but a ton of expired (oldest was February '25) and soon to expire in a couple weeks products! Ridiculous. To add, they had a 50% off shelf. Guess what? These products were all expired too! Not soon to be expired. But already expired last month! I definitely would have purchased more if this wasn't an issue. Management and store shelf stockers need to get a grip on their inventory. read more

I remember going to the original Cost Plus location with my mom when I was younger. I don't love this location they moved into, the crazy mall parking lot makes it less desirable during peak hours. As fun as it is to peruse what's inside, there's times I need to be in/out as quickly as possible and order ahead online is supposed to help make this experience expeditious. They entice members to use curbside service with a savings perk but unfortunately, CPWM's curbside pickup is the *least* efficient store in the area. Maybe use Target's business model for performance improvements bc they set the bar high with drive up / pickup orders that are actually ready as promised (within two hours). AND Target's app reflects order status accordingly, saving customers the trouble to wait and speak with a live store employee. Stark contrast of an experience here and not just once but each time I use their curbside pickup. I wait patiently for 24 hours expecting to receive a secondary email confirmation that my order will be ready for pickup by a certain time. Nothing. So I have to call in after each curbside online order to follow up on status. And it's always only then that a store employee prompts staff to begin fulfilling my online order for pickup. THEN after the conversations, the pickup email confirmation is received with a link to tap upon arrival. This store is located at Serramonte Mall. There's plenty of parking. The name of the store, " World Market" says it all. They sell food, clothing, furniture, booze, spices, beverages, and kitchenware from all around the world. I came to this store to buy some tikka masala sauce. I ended up buying a whole shopping cart full of variety of sauces, saute pans, cheddar & chive pancake waffle mix, variety of beverages, and some spices. Many of the products look appealing and I couldn't resist not buying them. They sell a good variety of wine, candies, cookies, noodles, olive oil, sauces, beverages, coffee, candles, and bath accessories. They also sell furniture and rugs as well. The employees are friendly and helpful. There were some beverages on the top shelves that I wanted to purchase and needed help to get them down. A female employee saw me looking at the beverages, she rolled over a ladder and got them down for me. The cashier that rang me up was Marc. He was kind and patient. I signed up for the free rewards membership. I got 15% off my entire purchase. I saved quiet a bit of money on this shopping trip. I will definitely be back to buy more stuff. read more

I usually LOVE coming here and it's rare to run into issues worth leaving a review about but my last visit started off terribly. I placed a pick up order and after waiting 10 min without being helped, I go to ask the cashier to assist and she pages for someone to come by. The coworker finally shows up reluctantly and informs me that my order was cancelled due to an inventory discrepancy. I let her know I never got an email/text confirming this but unapologetically she acts annoyed as if I'm the one inconveniencing her. I almost considered leaving but ended up finding something else to buy since I was already there. Thankfully I was helped by the same cashier (Dhemy) from earlier and she completely turned my whole experience around. She was super sweet and offered amazing customer service!Thank you for making my visit so much better!! read more

So many household goods to choose from - I'm not usually a shopper but I found myself getting just a little too excited when I was browsing around here. There are a lot of items here that I would never think about buying until I actually saw it on display and was like "ooh, that is so cute!" It's dangerous for me as a customer but they know that and use it to their advantage lol. I'm picky about glassware. But as my old drinking glasses broke one after the other because of being washed a thousand times, I started panic shopping online. I found nothing I liked. And the one place that fell off my radar (and shouldn't have) was Cost Plus World Market. Drinking glasses in a pretty hue of blue and made in Spain of recycled glass- take two boxes each in tall and short. And oh, are those the practically indestructible wine glasses I once had and loved? I found some that looked similar though not as heavy and sturdy as I remember but still great. But wait, they have so much more and their food and condiment section will tempt you with its wares. I don't regret a bit that I shopped late at night by light of my mobile phone and ordered strawberry-rhubarb jam, Buffalo cheese dip, dried "bistro blend" mushrooms, Asiago cheese crackers and spicy sweet Thai chili sauce. Plus I found liquid Barkeeper's Friend cleanser (say what, shortcut to cleanliness?) Employees at this store have mad customer loyalty skills (shoutout to Meredith) so much so that I had to call her manager, Barbara, to say thank you. I thank Yelpers for photos from this store: When they reopen I can't wait to peruse the spice section- looks so awesome- and cruise the aisles for imported pastas, sauces and wines. For the past two months I've made on-line purchases at World Market. A jelly candy I like that I purchase on Amazon increased in price significantly. Whereas shipping was previously free, the seller wants to charge in excess of $5. I have a hard time justifying that particularly when a bag of candy is $7.95. That said World Market is one of the few places that carries this jelly candy AND has it in stock. Ranch 99 carries it but it is frequently out of stock. The candy is Kinjyo Mixed Fruit Assorted. On the occasions where I have made a purchase I choose to personally pick it up at the Daly City location vs. having it shipped. If you pick up your order in person you get a discount. You don't need to go into the store. You receive a text message when your order is ready - typicall an hour after it is placed; drive up to an available stall in the front of the store and call the number to the Daly City location. You just need your order ID and a form of ID. I have never had to wait more than two minutes from the time I call to when a clerk brings out my order. Good prices on food items and sale items. The only problem is the sale items tend to get snatched up fast. Attached are photos of two pillows I purchased. Great service, friendly staff, wide variety of items to choose from. I was disappointed when Cost Plus closed its Westlake location. However, I happened to go to the new Cost Plus store now located at Serramonte on Monday for a lookie loo. So much more floor space and so much more merchandise and food selections. Ceilings are higher and the lighting is better. Go on a weekday if possible; else good luck finding a parking space close by. I couldn't leave empty handed so I got two packs of Tim Tams and a bag of Quadratiini wafer cookies. read more

I called to see if there was an item in stock which I am so glad they have sage smudge btw. Kristian took my call new exactly what I was looking for when I asked and he held the items for me at the front check out stands. I didn't get her name but the nice young gal who brought the items to me was super fast and helpful. I even had a few moments to grab a few impulse buys right by the front entrance! It was the quickest $40 I ever spent walking into a store with in not even 5 minutes! Sheena who checked me out at the register asked me to enroll to their frequent program and I immediately enrolled, simple just by phone number and email. They've got some very unusual and stylish rugs a big section of wall art and mirrors a pretty nice selection of lights and even a bunch of different wines from various parts of the globe. I've always been a fan of Cost Plus, back when it went primarily by the name "Cost Plus" and not "Cost Plus World Market" or "World Market." There is always an eclectic range of items, from furniture to wine to dishware to international snacks, and the prices are very reasonable. The style is very boho/international modern, and I'm absolutely digging it. My round, mustard yellow, velvet cushions are awesome and were awesomely priced. I love their buffet napkins - nice and sturdy, plus such a great deal at 6 for $10. (Funnily enough, I also purchased these in mustard yellow.) Back in the day, you could buy FIVE POUND bags of sour apple rings. I mean...that's no longer a thing (and I hesitate to confess that I did get one of those for a birthday back in my teens). But still - how VERSATILE is this place?? Most recently, I had an excellent experience with Cost Plus after purchasing some light fixtures online for my home remodel. A few months passed and when it came time to install the lights, lo and behold - I discovered that the pendant lamps were not going to work for the space, which didn't have the ceiling height to justify pendant lamps. I knew I was 100% outside the return window, so it was a throwaway question to ask when I was here the other day if there was any option for a brand new item that I bought late last year - maybe partial credit? something? And amazingly, they said that, if it's outside the return window, they'd give me merchandise credit!! I mean, this thing is 4 months outside the return window, so I had about 1% confidence I could do something with it that wasn't trying to sell it on CL for 10% of what it cost. Anyway, so I brought my two pendant lamps back today, bought a flush mount ceiling lamp, and it was an excellent, seamless experience. Eric, Amy, Kari, and Kristian were super helpful and patient with the less-than-ordinary transaction. This store is also located in the Serramonte Center, but to the back of the complex. There's plenty of free parking, and curbside pickup is also available. Highly recommended. read more

I've been a fan of Cost Plus World Market since I was a kid. I feel like I have graduated through my purchase selections over the years, let me explain. When I was a kid, I always loved the toys and gift department. They still have really cool gifts for kids of all ages. I also love the selection of cards and gift wrap, as I love to wrap presents and feel like it's part of the gift you give. Then when I got older, I found that they had a nice beer and wine selection that included imported and domestic even local craft beer and wine. I started expanding my interests into Belgian beers and Chilean wines. I also started checking out the sale areas for household items like sheets, curtains, rugs, picture frames and other items to decorate my place. Now, I still shop for all of that - but I am really into their gourmet goods and houseware department these days. This girl loves to cook, so I look to this part of the store to find international ingredients that allow me to improve my recipes. I really do love this store and discovering new things to buy and try at home. read more

They hide 4 bells throughout their store and if you find one you will either win a $10, $20, $25, or $50 Cost Plus voucher to use that day. After searching all over the store while my mama took care of her shopping, there it was, the Golden Bell. I happily picked it up and brought it to the front and traded it in for a $25 Cost Plus voucher. I was so excited about my win, and I was even more excited to find a store with many cool and unique items. The online order and pick up process is a bit confusing for this store. I waited in line to pick up my order and since there was only one cashier, I didn't want to stand at the "pick up" register and cut other people off that were already waiting in line. But when it was my turn, the cashier tells me to wait by the "pick up" register and said someone else will help me, while proceeding to help the customer behind me. Another cashier comes and tells me the same thing and proceeds to continue ringing up other customers. Not sure why? Finally, Hillary comes and helps with the pick up orders. She was super quick and got my order out fast. I just don't understand why the first or second cashier couldn't process my pick up? But this store has lots of goodies and the employees are very nice, so don't be afraid to shop here. read more

I could spend hours just browsing the various home decors and little knick knacks! This place is also my little hidden treasure when it comes to gorgeous, inexpensive jewelry. Rings and earrings for only $4.99! How could you beat that?? They also have a great home clearance section which is located toward the back of the store. World Market is new to do the Serramonte Shopping Center. They closed down their Westlake location and opened at Serramonte in September 2017. From the minute you walk in, you immediately see all of the different departments from the entrance! It's easy for people who are in a rush. They are well organized, well stocked, clean, and the displays are pleasing to the eye. You just want to buy everything you see! The merchandising is beautiful at this store. Almost don't want to touch anything because it all looks so neat and perfect! Though most of the items here are a bit pricey (you can find certain food items for cheaper at Target and Daiso), you do get a nice selection of great, high quality home decor, exotic spices, and different snacks you can't find anywhere else. From couches, carpets/rugs, light fixtures, this is your place if you're redecorating or moving into a new place. Their kitchenware items are great, and actually reasonably priced for its design and quality. World Market also has a great selection of wine, from local, to imported, from cheap to the most expensive. As for cons, the parking is awful! Serramonte parking is small, scattered, and the layout is very maze-like. Though the store is aesthetically pleasing, it is a bit more cramped compared to their Westlake location. There isn't a lot of room to move around especially when it's a busy day and there's a lot of people in the store. You have to take turns wth other guests because the aisle are so tiny. read more

I really do enjoy going here! It's like another version of Target, in a way, because you go just to go, say you won't buy anything and you'll just look around, but end up buying things. I love coming here during the holidays. They always have tons of advent calendars to choose from and if you're in need of white elephant gift ideas, you'll definitely find something here. Pros: - They are always fully stocked. Even at the end of the day it's super clean. - Whatever holiday is being featured: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July... they always have amazing house decorations. - The Hello Kitty corner is so cute and nostalgic! Products like marshmallows, snacks, pencils, notebooks, totes and even a mystery box. - I love going to the candy section and getting candies from all over the world. They have peculiar things like habanero and lime popcorn, chocolate covered potato chips, classic soda pop glass bottles, etc... - One of my favorite things to do after perusing around is to get mini versions of cookies and chocolate from the front in attempt to feel not as guilting for getting so many snacks. Cons: - Parking is tough at Serramonte Center especially at this wing. It's located next to Buy Buy Baby and Ross, and across from Dick's Sporting Goods and Dave & Buster's. Beware of all the pedestrians and cars coming in different directions. - Wish they payed attention to their sample teas/coffee in the front.
