Peet's Coffee is in a very crowded strip mall that includes Trader Joe's. It can be hard to find a parking space and even harder to get out of the lot. Peet's menu board is confusing. It lists various coffee drinks and the price for Medium. No prices that we could see for small or large. Take a guess? Mixed review on the service - One person ahead of us took forever to decide what to order. 3 staff behind the counter including one patient cashier and no one opened the second register. In all it took about 15 minutes to go through the motions to get our coffees. The coffee barista was fine once he got our order, but we don't know what the hold up was. It was NOT busy, actually empty in middle of the day, and we wouldn't want to be here during the morning rush. Its saving grace is that Peet's coffee tastes great. read more

I was craving Peets Iced Holliday Latte on our drive home from the bay. I decided to order it on my app for pick up. Parking in that shopping center is horrible. You can circle over and over again and still not find a spot. When I finally walked into Peets it was crowded, a line to place an order, a line to pick up, a line for app order pick up and tables were full. I patiently waited for my order for 10 minutes over the "estimated pick up time". I think it would've actually been faster if I waited in line and ordered there. Terrible!!! Went to get some coffee after work and then the next day to get the same order for myself. It's been a while. I got the lemon blueberry danish and a small of the Pistachio Rose Latte. I enjoyed both! The lemony taste of the danish with the blueberries is a great way to end or start your day. It has a nice texture on the bread. The coffee was strong (Peet's has strong coffee period), but it didn't overpower the flavors in the coffee. I didn't need to any sweetness to it at all. Friday, I wasn't alone and they got the Pistachio Rose Latte as well, but added sugar to theirs and they got the banana nut bread. The place was busy Friday afternoon, but less people there Saturday morning around 6:45am. Both times, staff were kind and helpful. The place wasn't dirty and on Friday there was a staff member who was sweeping, which is good to see. I would go back. read more

Came for the $9 special latte & hot sandwich combo running 5/18-5/31 First they are out of stock of the only vegan plant based Sammie so I opted for the "herbalicious"roasted tomato focaccia sandwich, very savory & cheesy !! 2nd I brought my own cup, but it wasn't used .. 3rd I was told the $9 special was unavailable but finally the mgr stepped in & adjusted the price for me !! ( Dont know if I Got my points or credit for bringing my own cup !? ) Anyway it was ok but what a hassle & I hate to hold up the line bc of my special order !!! The Peet's Coffee empire just keeps expanding into local suburbia and no greater example of this is their location in Pinole. Located in the Pinole Vista Shopping Center since the remodel of this outdoor shopping center over a decade and a half ago, I have been here many a time. I've watched them thrive and evolve over time, but what hasn't changed is their limited space as they take up a mere sliver of this massive shopping center despite them being one of the most popular destinations within the center. What brought me here after a long period away was the fact that Peet's Coffee was commemorating the spring season with a BOGO springtime beverage deal. The marketing team at Peet's Coffee is smart enough to send out a number of emails reminding their loyal customers who use their app that this deal was for a limited time and time was almost up before you could take advantage of this deal before it expired. What was in the small print and I did not realize before arriving here was that this deal only applied limited time spring limited time offer beverage, which is basically anything with Honey Almond flavoring. Assuming I could get this deal for their signature Frappes, I fully began to order two Frappes for myself and a friend, since it was a Buy One Get One deal, but the barista had to tell me this deal only pertained to their Spring beverage promotions so I had to decide quickly on what I wanted, and since I had recently gone to another location nearby and tried their Honey Almond Latte with Almond Milk, and I thought it was one of the richest handcrafted drinks that I have enjoyed in some time. So of course, I was still going to take advantage of this limited time beverage deal. Since it was so warm outside on the day I went, I knew that getting iced coffees was the only way to go. So with a limited menu to order from I went with their Honey Almond Latte with Almond Milk, on ice, which infused sweet and nutty flavors into rich Espresso Forte and almond milk for my friend, and for myself their Almond Cold Brew Oat Latte, which is automatically served on ice, served with oat milk that is frothed to perfection and infused with a nutty almond syrup before being layered with double strength cold brew. With only two baristas working on site, my drinks would actually take quite some time, as a number of other people were waiting around for their orders, which would also lead to their cashier area being completely ignored as the people in line began to multiply as they two baristas were focused on making beverages. With so many people waiting, it began to get rather warm inside of their cafe, as we waited, but finally our drinks were ready for pickup, and even over ice the Honey Almond Latte with Almond Milk was a delightful spring drink, and my Almond Cold Brew Oat Latte was a nice combination of nuttiness and strong cold coffee. The total cost for my two medium sized beverages was $6.75, which for two drinks, was more that reasonable. Despite the size constrictions of the store, the team at this location of Peet's Coffee was extremely professional and after ordering the incorrect drink for the BOGO deal they managed to change it quickly enough that I was waiting for my drinks to be prepared alongside everyone else. Here's to this location of Peet's Coffee, as their exterior sign has been updated to reflect that Tea is no longer a priority on their menu, and their interior menus have been updated to electronic signage, this proves their in for the long haul, as us loyal customers are here to go along for the ride! read more

Peet's has really gone downhill. I used to work at this location for 7 years and drink quality was top priority especially when customers spend $5-$9 on a latte in this economy. I consistently go here and my drink is always wrong. My drink is always too hot because the barista doesn't use a thermometer and auto steams and I can hear just based on steaming sounds that the milk is being steamed to extra hot aka burnt. No quality control at all - I order a cappuccino and because the barista doesn't have confidence in their steaming abilities they scoop the foam onto the drink instead of free pouring it, so the drink isn't properly mixed and the espresso is all at the bottom under stiff foam so when you drink it you only get espresso and no milk. Or the flip side I order a cappuccino and its basically a latte. There's a focus on clearing out orders instead of both sense of urgency AND quality. Id rather wait than to pay for a poor drink. Example, since the barista is trying to clear their orders they steam a big pitcher of milk for multiple orders and because or that I have no foam in my latte. What makes this worse, I ordered a holiday spice latte which is made by steaming the spices with the milk and instead of making this drink properly he steamed up a pitcher of milk and put the spices in the cup and then poured milk over it so now I have a clumpy drink. This may seem like I'm being a Karen, but I will nicely tell the baristas my requests and it still is never right. I think what's difficult is when you KNOW how things should taste due to years of training and Peet's actually putting a focus on barista training, its hard to pay money for a drink that taste nothing like how it should. Every time I come here I wish I could just put on an apron and hop behind the counter to make it myself. I don't fault the baristas, they just aren't trained. read more

We pulled up to Pete's, in need of some good food and warm drinks. Parking was challenging but we found a space and the spot is easy to get to from there. Walking in, they had soft music playing with people from all walks of life lined up. The menu is clear and concise and the options for those who need to see what certain things look like are properly displayed in a glass case. We made a big order that we changed a few times and the person who helped us was patient and happy. I wish I could remember her name so that she could have recognition for her work. The workers were also kind to my dad who asked to use the restroom and gave him the code. The food was great, filling, and just what we needed for that leg of our trip. I sipped that coffee all the way back home in the next two hours because I did not want to miss out on something we don't have here at home. Amazing job to everyone at this spot. read more

Every employee look depressed and don't want to be there, no smile, absolutely no custom service. Don't bother to write names on the drinks, don't even bother to call out the finished orders. Drinks just sit on the pick up counter. Customers walk up and picks up the cups in search for their name but none to be found, so end up tentatively put the cups back down and timidly ask the barista if that would be their drink! read more

EVERYTIME I come here they're on point. My only issue is it's always crowded, but that's because the secret is out, this might be the best Peet's in the Bay Area. Yeah I said it! First off, always great customer service. Staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and treat you with a smile. Shout out to the African American gentlemen w/ dreads who helped me last time. My fiancé is pregnant and he went through all of my questions to meet her dietary restrictions. Second off, the coffee is always hot (unless you want it cold) and they make your order as if they're in your head. No matter how complicated, they got it! Unlike Starbucks, nearly every single drink at Peet's is 200+ calories-- to charge someone extra for wanting to switch to an Sf Syrup is just greedy. Don't get me wrong-- I'm used to extra charges for milk substitutes--but for changing to Sugar Free?? It's just excessive. Little menu variety-- If it weren't for their *supposedly* high quality coffee beans, I'd be surprised Peets has any notoriety at all. They charge so high for drinks that are satisfactory at best, and with very little variety of options to even choose from on their menu). Employees don't know their own products-- Employees here are pretty unknowledgeable when it comes to their drinks. I'm not expecting a crazy experience, but when I ask about a certain drink I'd expect an employee who's *not* a new employee to be able to tell me something about the drink not just "Yeah I like it, it's good" after every drink mentioned. You'd think even specific questions like "What's the strongest coffee you have here?" would prompt some thought about what's a strong beverage there-- (i.e. at Starbucks they might say Oh, the nitro cold brew. Or hey, depends on your caffeine tolerance but this is good too!" etc etc). But here, instead a question like that will just get you a mouth-agaped "Uhhhh, I mean everything here is, ____ pretty much."‍ (Fill in the blank with whatever youre trying to ask them about) What you make of your first impression here is for you to decide, but at least for me, it's not enjoyable to get overpriced drinks at a place that doesn't even take pride in those drinks and in inviting customers to enjoy it as much as they do. Really odd. Tho I am rarely here, these days . Service used to be quite friendly and efficient., Today's positive notes: The guy cleaning the shelves greeted me when I walked in. The young woman who took my order was pleasant. Now after that i am not quite sure what was going on but fair to say that though there were 5 employees in the store( count'em, 5,)seems like filling the customers' orders was a low low priority. The place was not busy, one of the 5 was intermittently filling orders but i watched as the two customers in front of me who had clearly already ordered their drinks before I walked in waited a looooooong time for their orders to be filled. I eventually got my drink tho had pretty much lost interest by then. I know it was late in the day for these youngsters ( already 3 PM, ) I trust they will soon be on to their more meaningful careers. read more

This is my favorite location by far. Unfortunately, it's too far away for me to visit often. It's not filthy like Berkeley fourth street, it's not a hole in the wall like the original, and it has ample parking unlike El Cerrito, my favorite. I go in, get my drink, show them my app and move on. I like their coffee/espresso drinks. I like the people who work there. I used to go for their chocolate, toffee covered almonds. That's the reason I visited most often and now that they no longer sell them, I don't see a reason to really go. It's rare that I'm out and about and want a coffee. I'm also not a fan of their beans, but like the coffee. Makes no sense, but it's true. Also, they are no longer the tiny little outfit that could. No problem with my drinks and service but please to whoever is managing this store, please have your crew CLEAN UP all through the day The bars are dirty. The tables are filthy. It is disgusting. Even when they are slow, literally serving no one, the staff should at least go wipe down the bar, fill it up, wipe down tables and tidy up the store. It's pretty disgusting. Prices are high, but the coffee is great! When I was there there was plenty of seating as most people were sitting outside. Great location, right near the freeway with plenty of parking. Nice, chill location off the highway in Pinole Valley surrounded by other little franchise shops (Trader Joe's, Five Guys, Krispy Kremes). I think this may be my favorite one. The cashier was oh so nice and welcoming. She encouraged me to try the Matcha Green Tea Fog, whose name is questionable. I like matcha. I love green tea. I had no idea what the fog was about. I'm glad I tried it though, kind of like a matcha lemonade? With foam. And very green. Mostly I appreciated the atmosphere while I finished this fog thing. You can sit inside of course, but there's plenty of chairs and benches and tables with umbrellas that are great for people watching on a beautiful day. I'll be back again and again. I've been a Peet's customer for about 40 years. I don't get upset about lines at any location because I think their coffee is worth the wait and besides, where do we go these days that doesn't have a line? This location has great employees that busts their butts working that counter and espresso machines. It's located where you can do lots of other shopping after you get your cup of joe. After an obvious racist incident from a nasty bitch in a Novato Starbucks, who didn't want to serve me AND 6 complimentary gift cards from Starbucks, I refuse to give them my business any longer. I have never been treated like this by any of Peet's employees. Be nice and you'll be treated the same! At Starbucks, all you need is to show up, barely breathing and put on a green apron and you'll get a job. Their espresso drinks suck and taste like warm milk without any espresso. I came here for years in the past and never had a problem until today. I ordered my drink which was a simple cold brew order. I used the bathroom, came out, and a lady that ordered after me got her drink in which seemed very intricate to make. I was still waiting for my drink. After minutes of realizing the staff weren't making anymore drinks, I asked one of the employees about it and she told me "I don't see an order here" "It would have came up on the screen" almost seemingly making me out to be lying about my order? I responded back, "I literally just ordered." She went back to the cashier who took my order, then found my order and made it. She gave it to me, seemingly annoyed, I thanked her anyway, and in response she gave me a dirty look, said nothing, and left off somewhere to resume her duties. That was very rude. Not even an "I apologize for the inconvenience" or at least a "Sorry about that." I've worked in a cafe before so I can understand how tiring it can get, especially towards the end of the day (They appeared to have been closing things up) but just because THEY failed to see my order and I asked them about it, doesn't give them the right to act like that or give me a look like that. They all look very young too. The drink was okay, wasn't that great though. Highly disappointing customer service. They need to get trained better, they probably lack the experience. I came in today to get some work done. I was sitting next to a Family who was waiting forever for steamed milk. Apparently the bar attendant did not want to give them what they asked for. The guy was sent to pay for the steamed milk but the bar attendant who's name was Johnny told the cashier tdd that they always do this thing. Then the bar attendant made them wait at least 10 minutes until he catered to all the customers that came in after that family. The guy patiently waited and told the attendant thank you while he continued to wait. The woman was not happy and expressed that she hated coming bvb to Pete's because there drinks are too strong. My question is what difference does it make whether or not how many times she request a little sreamed milk if it makes her happy. Also why did he feel it was necessary to create bIas with the cashier against these people. This really bothered me because this was a nice family with a well mannered kid who was dressed well. I hate this location. They continuously get my order wrong even after I repeat my order and they repeat it back. Always a long ass line no matter what day or time of day you go. This is annoying because this is the closest Peets and I hate Starbucks. So in order to get my caffeine fix I'm stuck going here. But honestly I would t recommend and if you can afford the extra gas it takes to go up two exits to the one in Hercules that also has a drive thru I would definitely recommend that establishment as it is way more pleasant and they seem to pay more attention to your order so that they can get it right. I'm pissed because I've already driven off and don't feel like going back to stand in line to wait for my correct order.
