A1. Green Tea with Salted Cheese
    Ryan F.

This review is less on service and drink, but more on pricing. The drink is on par with what you'd expect for a simple green tea with salted cheese foam on top. The drink maker did ask if I wanted some matcha powder on top which was a nice gesture I can't speak to the other Happy Lemon stores or if this is a general pricing issue but maybe I'm too used to many other more complex drinks at other solid boba chains to be at the same price but for premade green tea and cheese foam to be $6.75 seems a bit high. Granted I don't get boba often nowadays but maybe it's for the better if the prices are that high for what is a fairly straight forward drink Looking at the other drinks and those being in the same ballpark of $7 I would opt for a more complex/unique drink (mango/sago/matcha/etc) All to say, nothing wrong with the service, and I did come after work hours so didn't experience much of a wait but have seen this place with a relatively long wait on the weekends so YMMV My biggest gripe is what seems like a high price for a simple drink. I also will admit, I opted to get this drink hoping to see if the quality of the tea warranted the price but I would suggest a few of the options by Berkeley campus if you're looking for a place where the tea's subtle notes really shine with an equal price point. The one benefit to this place is the proximity to the Asian market and various food options

I love this location is closer to me than Berkeley. I no longer have to make special trips to get a treat. My daughter and I stop in after school before our park trips or following gymnastics. It's also convenient to grab a drink for myself (and friends) before heading to a movie or work. Inside Ranch 99 makes it easy to find. Depending on the time and day you go, parking can suck. It's inside a large lot but with all the other great stores it can be difficult. It's located off the Central exit.

    Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie

I stopped by for some late night boba. It was probably less than an hour before they closed. There was no one inside. It seemed more like a place where people took their food to go. I got the strawberry shortcake smoothie and it was delicious. It was creamy and had a nice strawberry taste. I asked for 25% sugar level and it wasn't really sweet which I preferred. The ice level was fixed since it was a smoothie. I thought it tasted just like a strawberry shortcake but in a drink. The staff was nice and friendly. They were super fast making my drink. There was a guy standing next to the cashier who was listening and looking at my order. I didn't even finish paying for my drink yet and they were already done with my order. This was a small location and it was very clean. The seating area was a long counter with chairs. There were also a bunch of benches scattered around the mall you could sit at as well. I felt like they needed a bigger trash container or empty it more frequently since it was overflowing when I was there. Parking wasn't an issue since they were located inside the Pacific East Mall.

Enjoyed getting boba from happy lemon! Nice and fast service, so many options, and the mochi waffle was to die for. Loved it so much, just the right sweet and soft combination you need. Love that it's right in the mall at the entrance and the line moves fast. Highly recommend this spot before you do the rest of your shopping!

Longish wait but always refreshing. Awesome surprise from my daughter. Tasted great as usual and worth the wait.

My husband enjoyed his drink! Very strong blend of Vietnamese coffee with cream puff. Yummy!! This novelty drink is priced fairly. Superb customer services too! Warm and friendly greeting from the moment we walked in and until we left. I highly recommend to give them a try if you are in the area. I would absolutely visit them again when we are in town again.

Time after time we go to happy lemon there's always a long line and wait, but they are always very polite as servers when we order directly in person as opposed to the digital kiosk. I drinks are always made the exact same way and I know that the drink makers are always different. I am always watching everybody. On this particular day, we had six different drinks for the whole family since that was our dessert after our dim sum lunch and everybody enjoyed their drink although it took us about 15 minutes to get, the service was pretty fast, considering the people in front of us also had a number of drinks as well. Perfect dessert on the way home into traffic. Lol.

This place was BUSY on a Sunday afternoon. Located at the entrance of Ranch 99 makes the wait a little long, but they have a big team of baristas getting those drinks out. I got the Wintermelon Fresh Milk, which was the perfect sweetness for me. The milk to melon flavor was great and overall a refreshing drink. I'd order it again :)

I walked into the mall where Happy Lemon is located and saw the sign for the frozen wintermelon lemonade drink has an advertisement for $5.25 the S4. I go into the store and order it and it came to $6.50. I informed them about the sign that's outside of their store. The employee who rung the order up goes outside to look at the sign and says oh "that's old". I said well I want the price that you have it advertised for. He asks someone else that was working in there and they said no cause the sign was old. They wouldn't honor the advertised price so I left. When I walked out of the mall they had removed the sign. They didn't handle this correctly. I know I don't look like their typical customer but I felt they wouldn't honor what they clearly had advertised because of it. I will never go into a Happy Lemon store again and will tell my friends about my experience as well.

Their lemonade iced tea with fresh lemon is a perfect blend of refreshing and tangy, and it's my go-to drink every time. It's incredibly flavorful and the fresh lemon really adds a special touch. Their chocolate bubble waffle with the dip is an indulgent treat. The chocolate flavor is rich without being too overpowering. The dip complements it so well--definitely a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth! The service is friendly, lots of sitting area and clean bathrooms. Check it out if you're in the area!

My cousin was in the boba mood, so we settled on Happy Lemon due to its proximity to us. It's a decent spot for drinks but not a place I'd actively seek. No matter the time or day, I've seen crowds gather at this location. Be mindful of that because service is quite slow. It took a while for the staff to make and serve our drinks. The inside is bright with bar stools and lemony logo decor, you can sip inside or take it to-go. Happy Lemon lives by its namesake and sells various lemon drinks as well as other fruit teas, milk teas, and more. You can adjust the ice and sweetness level. I had the Fresh Passion Fruit Mango Green Tea with Boba. Even though I got it with less ice and sweetness, the drink was still extremely sweet. My cousin had the Strawberry Green Tea and said it was okay but enjoyed mine more. For those looking for tea to sip while walking around Pacific East Mall, Happy Lemon is a good option. Parking is free in the mall's lot. Drinks are decent but service is quite slow.

Mango passion fruit green tea. LOL, I had already drank most of it before I remembered to take a picture!
    Annie L.

This was my first time here. I was down here going to 99 Ranch and decided I'd like something to drink. I tried the mango passionfruit green tea. You are given the choice of how much or little sweetener and ice to put in and I usually like it less sweet with less ice so that I can get more of the drink. I like the fact that they use fresh fruit in many of their drinks. This drink was very good, very refreshing and I would order it again. The service was quick and all the employees looked like high school kids, but they were very fast, bright and efficient.

When you first enter, you're guided by arrows that lead you to the ordering tablet, or you can order at the main counter. The shop is small, but has plenty of counter seating and some small tables available as well! In between the front door and ordering, there's a selection of chips and snacks for you to browse as well. I was initially looking to order Banh Mi but was a bit intimidated by the $17/banh mi price tag. I opted in for an open face Asiago Bagel with Lox for $13 and placed my order. Breakfast orders that are $10+ get a free house coffee as well, so of course I opted in for it! There's a bathroom just around the corner from the ordering kiosk, but while I was making my way over there, the kind staff let me know that they are actually sold out of lox. They offered me a refund or to change what I ordered. I decided to switch to the Asiago Bagel with Ham, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese since it was the same price as the Lox! My coffee came out first, and the person who gave me my coffee also filled up my cup with ice when I asked! The coffee itself had a nice deep & bitter flavor which I look for in a house coffee. The sandwich was STUFFED full. I've never had a bagel breakfast sandwhich where I've quite had to unhinge my jaw like this. My photos did not do the sandwich justice, but I promise it's so much bigger than you'd expect! The eggs were perfectly fluffy and smothered in cheese. The ham and bacon were cooked to my personal liking. If you like crispy bacon, maybe mention that to them, because it was perfectly chewy for me. The bagel, was soft, fluffy, yet so bouncy, and I LOVE that there are poppy seeds mixed into their Asiago bagel. The cost to quantity ratio for the breakfast sandwich was 100% worth it. I'll definitely be back when I need a hearty sandwich.

The coolest part of the store is the wall of 67's near the register, it gave me a good laugh. My favorite employee that I see all the time is definitely the tall and very handsome guy named Julian AKA the beekeeper(pokemon binder easter egg ;). One of my go to drinks is taro milk tea and I am always hoping he is the one to make it because he always makes it super smoooooothhhh and creamy. There's a grandpa always at the back of the shop, but he still acts young and spry. He makes the best boba in town! For you cat lovers out there (like me), they are selling some really cute cat stickers at the counter for just $2! It turns out one of the employees drew them herself.. super cool!! I obviously had to buy a sticker for my water bottle. One of the girls has really cool dyed hair and some awesome piercings. You can also recognize her by looking for the worker that is always drinking a red bull. Allison is the k-pop connoisseur and the friendliest of all the nomi employees.
