Finally, a Happy Lemon has come to El Cerrito! One more bubble tea place to add to the list, although hopefully they don't put Le Dessert Lab out of business. The drinks are good, typical Happy Lemon fare, if you haven't tried their signature cheese foam before check it out. I usually get the grapefruit green tea which is particularly good at Happy Lemon because they actually do include bits of real grapefruit, and my husband just gets regular milk tea. Rating this particular Happy Lemon as just OK however as we have had varying quality boba when we come here. There have been a few times when the boba was soft and soggy, but other times it's nice and firm. I think it just depends on who's working the counter. The wait is also always VERY long, much longer than the Berkeley store, especially on weekends! I drinks are always made the exact same way and I know that the drink makers are always different. I am always watching everybody. I walked into the mall where Happy Lemon is located and saw the sign for the frozen wintermelon lemonade drink has an advertisement for $5.25 the S4. I go into the store and order it and it came to $6.50. I informed them about the sign that's outside of their store. The employee who rung the order up goes outside to look at the sign and says oh "that's old". I said well I want the price that you have it advertised for. He asks someone else that was working in there and they said no cause the sign was old. They wouldn't honor the advertised price so I left. When I walked out of the mall they had removed the sign. They didn't handle this correctly. I know I don't look like their typical customer but I felt they wouldn't honor what they clearly had advertised because of it.
