When ever I enter this store it smells like urine throughout the entire store it's very unwelcoming to bare the carpet needs to be removed

well I've had enough of this pharmacy! I've been waiting since 3/3 for a rx to be filled! Yesterday 3/12 they decided to fill it. I get there and they try to charge me full price!! When I tell them to put it through my i surance they huff. OK so insurance will pay for it....but now I have to wait 35-45 min for them to fix their mistake and change some label or something. NOT MY FAULT OR PROBLEM!! This should have never happened and they should have fixed their mistake right then!! So i left....drove my butt over to Walgreens and transferred all my rx and will transfer all my husband's next!! I hope this cvs pharmacy on Canyon Dr goes out of business for their complete incompetence and lack of customer service!! And dont even get me started on the closing down for lunch!! read more

Shameful pharmacy!!! Extremely rude and unprofessional All of the employees act like they are doing us a favor! The drive thru is constantly not open, their system is slow and archaic but the worse part is how damn slow they are! My entire family will be moving our prescriptions to Costco asap On a scale of 1-10? They get a negative zero not to mention they no longer take phone calls as you must leave a voice mail and pray to the script Gods that they call you back! Horrible location! Everything is locked up, absolutely everything, which is already annoying. The first young lady that helped me was very nice, I then went to another section and had to make another request to have someone open the deodorant cabinet. The next lady was the worse, she was a much older lady and immediately asked me which one. I said I would like to look at them so I can decide. She told me I can only hold one at a time. Is this a joke? How am I to compare them if I can't look at more than one. She basically treated me like a thief over deodorant. I was so put off with her attitude I put it back and left. I've been coming to this store for years, I won't be back to this location. I tolerated CVS higher prices, and inconvenience of waiting for clerks to unlock cabinets because the location is close to home, but this was it for me. I'll just stick to Walgreens, at least there you can actually shop for pain relief and hygiene products without having to call for a clerk every 30 seconds. Waited for 25 minutes after pushing the button for assistance 3 times. Had to find a worker and ask twice for help before the manager came over to unlock the case. Item did not ring up with the sale price. Manager was very rude and refused to honor the ad. She said the item had to be the exact item pictured even though the ad did not specify selected sizes only. I picked up a 130 ct bottle and the ad pictured a 120 ct bottle, which the store did not carry. I ended up ordering the item online for delivery and the sale price was reflected online. I have had similar problems the last several times I visited this location. It is disappointing to be treated so rudely when I am trying to support brick and mortar stores so they don't disappear! read more

This location is poorly ran.. definitely managment does not have a clue. If you plan on using this particular location make sure you call them after your doctor sends them medication orders. They sill take 48-72 hours. You must call them and remind the location that the dr called for med fill. If you have a opportunity to use another CVS or Walgreens thats convent for you I suggest to stay away from this location. Also if they promise you meds will be ready following day make sure to call ahead of time before driving down. I visit this location monthly due to proximity of our home. Its hands down the the worst CVS ive ever used in my life. read more

I walked in to make an appointment for a vaccination. They tried to schedule me but only one appointment (ever) was available. Tomorrow at noon. I will be at a party. They tried to schedule me next week but they were locked out. They told me to dial 800-SHOP CVS. I did. That AUTOMATED (garbage) system said to call the store. & hung up. Came in to pickup a prescription, as well as to make a a few purchases. My CVS coupons were not attaching although I had the right items. And previous trips other clerks were not helpful in similar situations. And I would prefer to walk out than to continue with my purchases. Mercedes not only helped me retrieve my items, but provided exceptional service in getting my coupons to work. And reassured me that she would always be willing to help if the situation ever arises again. So that I did not encounter a bad experience again. read more

So much to not like. They automatically refill Rxs you haven't requested, even though I've opted out of auto refills many times. They don't seem to have common drugs on hand, so it can take days to get your Rx filled. Some of the pharmacy assistants are sadly lacking in comprehension and customer service skills. I've dealt with two women through their message and call back system. One couldn't understand my pretty basic request and didn't do what she promised...the other who gave me a ten second explanation and then hung up on me in the middle of my asking a question. I'm looking for a better pharmacy option. read more

This was my first visit to this CVS. I had to wait a long time for someone to open the locked case for me. The entire time I was in the store the security guard was following me around and every time I looked at him he would duck behind something it was super rude I won't return. read more

Im happy to say I was able to a find a place to get vaccinated today...after waiting for "my turn" to get this over with...CVS in Pinole was full of open appointments. The best part was I could come in on the weekend and pick the vaccine I wanted to have ahead of time! If you are looking to get a vaccine in the SF eastbay but cant find one in your area try CVS.com...they have got a lot of options nearby... Ciao for now! read more

Experience at CVS in Pinole on Canyon Drive was absolutely horrific. One of the pharmacists a young girl was completely unprofessional and unhinged and refused to fill a legit prescription unless all her demands were met as she sees fit. She proceeded to insult my doctors office of which she is unfamiliar with and treated me so disrespectful for no reason whatsoever. She closed the window in my face and walked away, and she also called me the next day and spoke her mind and when I tried to speak calmly with my question she said I'm not talking to you and she hung up the phone. I made multiple calls to corporate CVS requesting a district manager to call back to discuss this with me and nobody could be bothered. Pharmacist have been given the authority above all now and this has gone too far. read more

Very poor customer service. They have gone from answering the phone personally to a recorded system that promises to return phone calls and it does not work. They are either grossly understaffed or don't care and don't want my business anymore. It's been a horrible experience for one year. The new Pharmacy staff is rude. When there were only 3 staff members I got good service. Been going for years( from old store too). Continuous run around on one specific med. Insurance approval ok'd....then they claim they didn't get it 3x. Filled then had to be changed to a 3 month supply for a lower price. Then, they said nothing on file..put me on hold 2x. Got a tx saying it was ready only to be told Insurance didn't approve. Insurance did approve for I called them. The 3 stars I'm giving are for the pharmacy employees. This place is awful. I went there yesterday to pick up a prescription my dentist had ordered, of course I got there and my medication was not ready, I was told to come back in the morning to pick it up since all of the pharmacists went home and only one pharmacist on duty filling all the prescriptions, giving flu shots and Covid vaccines. I told them I can't wait until tomorrow as my dentist wanted me to start using the medication right away. Then another pharmacist showed up and told me my prescription would be ready in 30 minutes. This gave me time to go to grocery outlet and when I got back my prescription was ready. The employees in the pharmacy were super nice. I think management at CVS needs to do better as I can see this place closing as no one will want to go there, I think I will continue to use Kaiser pharmacy as they are a lot more organized. I do not recommend this CVS pharmacy. read more

Usually the staff here does their best and I'm in and out with my prescription in no time. My review therefore is only directed at one pharmacy technician, SHETAL, who, not only offered the worst customer service, but also provoked an unnecessary confrontation. After 45 minutes of waiting in line, I made it up to the window and was greeted by Shetal- asking how my day was. I didn't have an immediately answer and Shetal became ballistic when I responded, "the wait was super long." She accused me of having an attitude and yelled at her coworker to come help me instead. Lila came and it was a breeze getting through my questions. Hopefully the store manager will get back to me to let her know Lila did a great job and SHETAL needs some customer service training. When it comes to healthcare, expect professional people and don't settled for ghetto attitude. I will be moving my business to Costco. read more

After having trouble getting my medication at Walgreens located at Richmond Parkway, this pharmacy here delivered. The doctor sent a prescription, and it was filled. The first time last month, there was a problem getting it filled due to something Walgreens did and was in the computer. The pharmacist here worked on it and was able to get the medication filled. He had to do some other steps which took a little more time, but was able to get it filled. This month, Walgreens said I had no prescription when they did not fill it last month, and decided to close for a week instead. I had to go back to the doctor to get the prescription sent to CVS again this month. CVS filled the prescription, and told me when it would be ready via the automated telephone system. When I arrived, the medication was ready as said it would be on the automated telephone system. The last several times I was at Walgreens on Richmond Parkway to get my medication, they have had to go fill it and have me wait. At Walgreens the medication was not ready as they said it would be, and they were having you stand around and wait. We still have COVID, and people should not have to wait for their medication. When you enter this store, the sidewalk and parking lot is clean. There is no trash laying around like there is in front of the Walgreens at Richmond Parkway. read more

I could have given this store more stars if it wasnt for this tall middle eastern assistant manager. When a customer is looking for a specific item, the information you should get especially from a so-called assistant manager should be more thorough and not just ruling you out, ignoring you and saying "no that item is discontinued, just try this one instead ". I wanted to know more what was the reason of it being such but I felt like what I got from her was "I don't have time to explain anything to you, just buy this one instead." You call that an assistant manager? And why she became one would think of her "bossy" nature to the customer and sadly no help at all. read more

Worst customer service at pharmacy. There are very short when talking to people. But today There are two people that are really awesome. The young black man is the best ever to work at this pharmacy. He is fast and very customer focused. I was ready to transfer my prescription but this young man changed my mind in addition to the male pharmacist that was there today. I will limit my interactions to the days that pharmacist works. I shared this with my neighbors who also use this location. Ive been going to this CVS store since it opened last year and the service in the Pharmacy has been awesome. In particular, Indu, one of the Pharmacy staff, has always been super helpful. Whether it be on the phone or in person, she's always courteous and goes the extra mile to fix problems. If for no other reason, I would recommend this CVS because of this employee. Avoid at all costs. Went in to purchase an item- it was a digestive aid, not prescription and it was locked up. Tried to find a staff member and due to their ongoing and never ending staff shortages and bad attitude, there was no one to find. Eventually we noticed an extraordinarily long line which would have taken an hour to get through. When we approached a staff member to comment on the long lines, etc. this person had the nerve to say "well, if you don't like it, go to Walgreen's" which is exactly what we did. CVS in Pinole has been my prescription provider since I had to change insurance with my early retirement. I was used to 40 years at Kaiser. With the exception of the one time, very grumpy and rude old pharmacist that is longer there (thank goodness) I've had great service from the team of professionals at the pharmacy. It took a minute to get things rolling smoothly after they moved to the new building but they were up and running smoothly in no time. I love the new drive thru for ordering and picking up your prescriptions. They are making easier and to quickly get service. New young store manager. Witnessed great customer service tonight from this young professional. Pharmacists an equally high caliber medical professional with great patient care skills. I'm sure this is the norm and not the exception at this new location. I was happy with the staff and service in the past, but new staff has been added and service is even better. Excellent team! I have two choices for pharmacies this year: CVS or the Wal-Mart mail-order pharmacy or the insurance run mail-order pharmacy. Well I never been to a Wal-Mart and don't want to start now. I'm an "oh I'm out of something" type person so mail order would not work for me. CVS is now my pharmacy of choice. My last review was pretty negative, but now I like picking up Rx here. The pharmacy clerks are very friendly. They are all worthy many stars. I haven't needed any same day prescriptions filled so I don't know if they are ever out of medications, with auto-refill I have never had that problem. The store itself is usually empty I hope that doesn't mean they will close this store. All the stock seems to well organized. And the hand-dandy coupons they send me for 20% off are nice. There is only a slight bug spray smell. read more

Good pharmacy and staff does their best with what staff they have to fill medication and other duties. There are customers that have no patience and don't understand what they have to do for us staying late, pulling doubles all with being under staffed some meds take time and alot is going on with calls and vaccines and everything else they have to deal with. The cashiers/customer service is very rude and lazy. No hello or how may I help you when actually asking for help. When checking out, if you go to the counter, they will actually direct you to the self-checkout instead of helping out. I personally do not like using their self-checkout machines there or anywhere for that matter. I've only had contact with the people in the pharmacy and they are great! They make sure you can get your prescriptions even when they have to contact the insurance company that has said no. The staff there is always pleasant and very respective of your needs. Although it is farther from my home, I'm so glad I changed from Walgreens in San Pablo to this pharmacy. CVS has to be one of my favorite of my favorite stores to go to, especially when I'm ballin' on a budget. I get all of my snacks, drinks, alcohol, makeup, shampoo &conditioner, cleaning materials, etc... from here! There are always great deals here, and everything is usually cheaper than the norm. The only thing I don't like about this specific location is that, the lines are usually long because there's only one person on the cash wrap, also they're really slow. I have never come here and waited less than 10 minutes at the pharmacy. They are always slow and understaffed and just getting the simplest things takes forever. Apparently the self checkout isn't being updated properly. I purchased pads for my sister that was shown as 2 for $28, but after checking out on self checkout, I found that it charged me $36.85. I didn't print a receipt at the checkout unfortunately, but when I got home and checked my charge card, I was surprised to find I was overcharged. This is the second time this has occurred, so I'm not convinced the store manager is staying on top of things. read more

The customer service has gone down. I understand they are shorthand but this happens every time I call. I was on hold for 35 mins and no one ever answered the phone. I drove to the pharmacy (while still on hold) and there was no talking on the phone. They were just in the back "working" while I stood another 5 mins in line for someone to finally help me. When I visit CVS Pharmacy they always give me a lip that I can scan and fill out a survey. Only problem is I do not have a phone that will scan the bar code so instead I am doing it on Yelp. I have been having prescriptions filled at the CVS in Pinole on Canyon Drive and jus want to say always receive great service from Lila - she is always courteous, professional and answers all of my questions in a way I can understand them.
