This place is the worst! I don't know how they stay open with the place always a mess and always out of stock on everything!

This is one THE WORST CVS's! They are rude, slow and honestly seem to be completely clueless. Was on hold for almost an hour before they hung up on me. Their system for refills is so messed up. I had my Flu shots there last week. The appointment was easy to make and the pharmacy tech who gave me the injection was very friendly and made me a copy of the paperwork to use it for my workplace. The shot was painless and aching minimally for one day. There is rarely any line of people and the store is clean and quiet. I love our neighbor CVS Pharmacy. read more

Not impressed with this CVS. I can only speak about the photography station. Order online for in store pick up. You have to wait up front where the cashier is so both times I went l, there was a line. This 2nd time, I get an email saying my order is ready. I wait my turn and they say it's not ready. They are out. Umm why did you tell me it was ready??!? Then they said they had to get a manager. The associate told me they were out and it would be awhile. The manager or other person comes and says do you just want your picture, umm no. She then tells me they will get more tmrw? Huh? Other guy said out. I went home. Avoid. Waited 3 hours in the pharmacy drive through with 6 cars. Ridiculous and unapologetic staff. They don't care you're sick and waiting. My family worked at another cvs and timing was critical. Sure times are hard, but their testing appointments are a PR scam. My family was appalled waiting in the car with me for 3 hours... with an appointment. I tried calling to ask what the hold up was, no one could say but kept saying 5 times "don't walk into the store, don't come in, wait in your car, don't come in". Gee thanks for your "care". So I'll just wait indefinitely? They couldn't give me a wait estimate or anything for my 3 hour past due appointment, but definitely "don't walk in". read more

This location is horrible. They're always out of my prescription medication. They tell me to call in a few days before the med is out to prevent the out of stock issue but it still happens. It's almost every month that there's an out of stock issue, and what am I supposed to do? Just go days without taking the med? It's a common prescription so not even sure why there always out. This was never an issue when the Portola location was still open. read more

Horrible - Lazy employees! CALLED to see if they took a certain form of payment (W.I.C) and the employee's answer was "I don't think so " didn't even think about it for a second... I asked if there was anyone a little more informed about the forms of payments CVS takes he put me on hold and then just said "uhhhhhh no we don't -we don't know " he said that his MANAGER didn't know ! How does that even happen ?Cvs has to do a better job at training their staff the MANAGEMENT had no clue either . Something so simple like a certain form of payment taken at the place you work should be crucial information to know ! I have had many problems with many CVS stores in the past. To my absolute delight, I have finally found one that is amazing! First off, there is always someone near the front who welcomes you the second you step in the door. Nice touch! Secondly, the pharmacy techs and pharmacists are very knowledgeable and caring. I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for my prescriptions and if I ever need my questions answered, a pharmacist comes over and immediately helps me out. CVS has even installed an optometry center where you can get your eyes checked and pick out your glasses all in the same place. As far as the rest of the store, it is well stocked with pretty much anything I need. If I can't find something right away, there is always an employee nearby to help me out with a smile. I feel like I have found the unicorn of drug stores. Thank you CVS for finally taking care of me properly. You are my one and only go to Pharmacy. read more

WORST PHARMACY ON THE PLANET. No idea how any of these people work here. They are rude, ALWAYS mix up medications and never update insurance or contact info. Always problems with medications. Always slow. Never help at all. Drive through line goes all the way back to Starbucks. They are absolutely the worst pharmacy. I'm changing my review here. They constantly call and text if I want to auto refill my prescriptions. Constantly. Multiple times a day. No matter what notification settings I have. I dont want to auto refill because it orders too early and I'm suddenly a full month ahead. Robo calls, texts, and live calls and I think I'm going to move my prescriptions somewhere else to stop them from bothering me. read more

My last experience trying to get medication for my eyes (!) was incredibly frustrating and still not resolved. I went in to drop off two prescriptions for my eyes (severe dry eye, to the point where I am unable to wear contacts and unable to have my prescription measured by two corneal specialists). Understandably, as I am unable to drive myself around, I wanted the medication quickly. Being blind is no fun. When I tried to get my prescription, I was told by the person at the window that the insurance company would not fill these without a prior authorization. They suggested I talk to my eye doctor to get a PA or to get alternate medication. They also KEEP my prescription. I ask if I can have it back, they tell me no, and then I ask for a photocopy. Good thing I did. No problem, I call my eye doctor. I'm informed that the pharmacy needs to send the paperwork to the eye doctor so I can get my PA. Fine. I'm also given a manufacturer's coupon for a free 30 day supply, and I'm told that I don't need insurance for that since it's a manufacturer deal. I go in the next day to the pharmacy (2nd visit), and tell them what the eye doctor tells me. At first, they can't even find my prescription and seem a bit incredulous that I even dropped it off. I have to show them the photocopy. They take the manufacturer coupon, run it (it seems to go through as I suddenly get texts on my phone from the manufacturer telling me congratulations, prescription has been filled and I have 3 refills). They say they'll send the PA (we'll see about this), and that the first one will be filled in 10 minutes. I get a call sometime later. "We have a problem with our supplier. Come back tomorrow." I do. Next day, another call. "We can't seem to get it, can you wait another day." Sure. Today, third day, I get a text from CVS - "problem with your insurance, please resubmit." Note: I've filled multiple other prescriptions here with this same insurance. I call them to see what is going on, and they tell me the manufacturer insists that I submit the medication with my insurance first, and **only after it's been denied** will they fill it. First of all, that's not what my eye doctor told me, and second of all, what? Why is this taking so long? It's been an entire week, and I have been unable to drive to work, relying instead on my husband... who can vouch for this experience being as he is the one that had to drive me back and forth, between all my appointments and CVS store visits and whatnot. Hopefully this is solved by next week, otherwise, another review will be incoming. read more

Horrible. Irresponsible. Disrespectful and rude. I've had so many bad issues with this cvs. They don't have my medication in stock even though I come here on a monthly basis. PharmaciSt Saeded(?) yelled me on the phone and cut me off without even listening to my explanation. I had to go show my prescription bottle to her to prove to her that my medication was rightly due. It turned out she didn't have any medication in stock. I needed my medication the next day, and she said she would order my medication but it would take 3 days to be delivered. This is absolutely unacceptable. This sort of thing has been happening for years at this pharmAcy. I did not want to move pharmacies because this is the one that is closest to my house. I don't want to have to move when I did not do anything wrong. I have been wronged so many times here. read more

This review is solely for the pharmacy section of CVS..... So glad they remodeled and expanded this section and hired a few more workers as there was always a long line. Of course there are some new workers so some kinks need to be worked out, but all in all, SO MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE. Fortunately, I have not yet experienced bad customer service as I have read in other reviews. I have never encountered a real issue with them before! On a side, CVS employees seem to be friendly. At least that's what I have observed. There have been a few times where I was simply browsing the aisles, and they would ask if I needed any help. Granted, there is sometimes a shortage at the register, but hey, a little patience never hurt anybody. All in all, CVS really isn't THAT bad. There should be some better reviews. read more

Its ok, although the layout of all CVS locations still bugs me for some reason. Got my knee brace so I can trek around during vacation in DC, but the selection wasn't the greatest. But it is nice and new, so it has that going for it. They opened up a new register while I was waiting in line, so a big plus there. Other than that, not much more I can say about the place either way. read more

Worst Customer service! I went there to get money orders the guy behind the cashier told me I had to pick the red phone up and listen to the pre-recorded message and follow the instructions. I did but the agency I was about to send money had asked me to send them the actual paper money order and was not in the list the recorded message gave to choose from! I explained to him that I do not know how to work with it, it was weird and I had never done this before... he ignored me!! I asked another cashier to help me, he ignored me too!!! They said they do not know either and they did not even come closer to the area where the red phone was installed and try to look helpful!!! After 15 minutes trying with the phone he said I cannot do it on computer either, I don't know how to do it!!! Finally he told me to go to another place! OMG.. Money orders are pretty simple to issue I was shocked how a casher don't know how to issue one! They have not gotten orientation?! Unhelpful, rude and unfriendly! The five star rating is only for Justin and for all his help! Thanks to Justin the pharmacy has finally inputted my prescription coverage correctly, this was my 3rd attempt in getting this resolved!! In turn I had a very substantial refund since I was over paying for my prescriptions!! Very frustrating knowing that my numerous complaints went unheard & unhandled! The pharmacy made a mistake with my prescription and gave me the wrong instructions and did not follow what my doctor sent. When I told them this and showed them my doctors message that the pharmacy had messed up my prescription, they were rude with me and said it was the doctors fault. They made me pay twice/double for the medication despite it being their fault and refused to waive the fee for their mistake! read more

This branch of CVS is slack. Specifically poor is the pharmacy here. I've only been a couple of times and I wonder why CVS promotes itself as a friendly, efficient pharmacy helping you with your prescriptions and giving advice? The reality at this branch is quite different than the CVS customer testimonials posted near the pick up counter. The pharmacist at the Portolo branch is better than the young ones here who seem overworked and would prefer not to talk to any customers. Check this out: there are 2 counters for drop-off and pick-up, but the area for consultations, i.e. ask the pharmacist a question, is just a head high partition wall. If you stand there looking for help no one will see you as the pharmacist can only see his/her comport screen. Great! When you do get the attention of the pharmacist you will get vague information about the otc drugs you may want to buy. "Claratin" she said. "Which one as there's many types?," I asked. Then she turned away and barked something about a generic brand that sounded like "L'Oreal." Great! I love CVS for the coupons and deals, but when it comes to the Pharmacy it seems this branch cannot live up to its corporate marketing vision. read more

To me, CVS is CVS. However, this location stands out in my mind for two reasons, it's the closest pharmacy to my mom's house and it's one of the nicer cleaner stores in their chain. I love going to the drug store vs. the grocery store when it comes to picking up small items like toothpaste, Tylenol or a bottle of water. Typically, it's much faster then the grocery store and there is less to navigate. Good times CVS! read more

Linda and Ashley are the greatest cashiers and most friendly employee's I've come across at any CVS. (I shop at a lot of CVS stores!) I like to do my shopping in the morning with my infant son, but unfortunately I had a bad experience with an employee, I think her name is Shuka, who told me to hurry up at checkout because there was a customer behind me. When I told her to cancel my transaction because I will not be talked to like that she denied that she had just told me to hurry up and wouldn't cancel my transaction until I paid. After a few minutes of aggressive back and forth with her she angrily canceled my transaction and I left, all of this also happening in front of my infant son. Not appropriate! I actually did not return here for weeks because I felt uncomfortable to run into here again. Until I met Ashley and Linda!! I now only shop here at night because I know Linda and Ashley work night shifts and are so helpful and I won't have to work with a rude cashier. Their customer service is excellent, they're so knowledgeable, HELPFUL, professional and work great together! read more

This is hands down the most incompetent pharmacy I have ever worked with. I have been here for a variety of things the past two years, including a Covid vaccine and they never can find my information in their system even though I can pull it up on the cvs website. This morning I went in to pick up medication I really needed and they didn't have it. My doctor called it in a second time, I called to verify they had it (after being left on hold for 30 mins) and they confirmed and said i would get a text shortly when it's been filled. 45 mins before closing I had heard nothing and called, i was left on hold for 23 mins and was hung up on. I had to call a third time, finally spoke with a person who told me they had no record of me as a patient once again and was told I should just have it called in to a different pharmacy all together. If you value your time or have a medical need that is urgent, DO NOT use this pharmacy. read more

For such a clean, semi upscale area, this mess of a CVS comes as a big surprise. Someone is taking name recognition for granted and operating on a shoe string. The shelves are practically barren. I came for Prilosec. There was none available on the shelf. After perusing what seemed to be countless choices with only one, possible two products standing on the shelf I settled for a generic CVS brand (possibly by design?) The checkout lady seemed so disconnected. No eye contact. No hello. No smile. Nothing. I only stopped here because it was a convenient stop on my way home. I came very close to just walking out the door and going elsewhere. Because of this experience I will not choose convenience over quality again. read more

If I could give them 0 star I would they never ever answer their phone. You have to at least wait for 30 min to one hour that if you don't get tired and you hang up. Then I tried and called the store manager all she Al said they are busy and I have nothing to do for you except to transfer you again. I went to the store and the traffic in the pharmacy was just regular not busy to the point you do answer the phone for 2 - 45 minutes calls. No way I can tolerate that. My experience with this store's customer service has often been bad, but today was a wacky new low. After purchasing a product, I realized that I'd forgotten to apply my 40% off coupon. As politely as I could, I asked the cashier if the transaction could be redone with the discount. He was clearly not happy about this, and called "Linda" over to the register. Linda asked me for the item, then admonished me for forgetting to submit my coupon at the time of purchase. I acknowledged my mistake, but she kept shaking her head and muttering. I then remarked about her attitude, but she continued to deride me. I said, "I see. So you're just gonna keep talking s***." Linda then pretended to be outraged by my profanity, and said she was going to call security. I said, "Sure. Go ahead!," but she didn't. As I no longer wished to deal with this very unpleasant woman, I asked for my purchase back, but she refused to give it to me. So I stepped behind the counter, and before she could stop me, I grabbed it. This made her furious, and she chased after me, telling me that I was "banned from the store." I took note of her nametag, and told her that I was going to report her to the corporate office," to which she replied, "Good! I hope you do!" I then walked out the door. Now, you'd think that would be the end of it, right? No. She followed me outside (!) and began taunting me, saying things like, "you're a loser!" and "you need to get laid!" She then repeated her invitation for me to call the corporate office. I responded with a couple of choice words of my own, and then walked to my car, with her still shouting at me from the store. My family and I did and will take our business elsewhere moving forward. Pharmacist Peter Dao (closest I can come to remembering his last name) was so unethical. He was unhelpful and rude along with his technician (youg asian guy- dont remember his name). Instead of calling the after hours line for my doctor (which every pharmacy has always done) he told me he couldnt do anything and that he wouldnt do my job. When I questioned him he told ME that I would end up apologizing. My mind was blown. This man not only has limited vocabulary and broken English but he does not understand customer service to any degree. I took my business elsewhere and they were amazing. But Peter had the audacity to do some unethical (and illegal things to my profile) and made it so that I was rejected at other pharmacies. The pharmacist at another location had to call the central pharmacy helpdesk and they let me know someone internally changed my settings to classify my drugs to have rejections. Right away I knew what he meant. To the manager at this location... I will be persuing legal action and I will get to the bottom of this. I have proof that your pharmacist retaliated against my family's profile. When I asked to speak to the manager he told me he was the manager. SHAME ON ALL MANAGEMENT AT THIS LOCATION.... you are corrupt and embarassing to the Irvine community. read more
