Its a costco so as per usual super busy. Especially the return line. This costco has gas station, tire shop, food court, optical shop, coffee grinder, and often have a representative advertising the credit card with gifts for those that qualify. Vast parking is available too. Not so much the handicap parking as it is usually busy. read more

I just came back from Costco and had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a cashier named KEVIN T. My husband and I are both Asian, and from the very beginning the attitude felt completely off. We both clearly said "Hi" while making eye contact with him when we walked up to the register, and he ignored us. At first I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and assumed maybe he was tired or distracted. But then at the end, when he handed us the receipt, I said "Thank you" and he ignored me again. At that point it started feeling intentional. After that, I even repeated it louder two more times just to make sure he heard me, and all three times he completely ignored us. Even the customer behind me looked confused and uncomfortable watching the interaction. I honestly cannot understand how a huge international company like Costco allows employees to treat customers this way. Even if someone personally dislikes other races, this is still a workplace and basic professionalism should exist. It's even more shocking because this happened in Irvine, one of the most diverse areas in California. I really hope Costco provides better customer service and diversity training, because dealing with subtle racism like this is beyond frustrating. What has happened to the Costco employees? Yesterday I was at the Irvine Costco and was loading the conveyor with purchases. As the belt came around there was a big wet spot. The checker a heavily tattooed Latino guy and the girl (also Latino) carting were in a conversation. I waited until there was a break in their conversation to ask for a paper towel to wipe the water away. He did not acknowledge that he had heard me instead continued his conversation with the girl. I asked again and he turned and in an irritated voice said just a minute! WHAT!!! Clearly their conversation was more important than helping a customer. Both of these employees should by sitting in the unemployment office. read more

I love to shop at Costco. Went to this location today to get gas, then went inside to shop. This warehouse is smaller than the one in my area but it has just about everything. Surprisingly, they didn't have a lot of stuff on sale this weekend and it's a holiday weekend. I was surprised to see a lot of asian snacks and special items that they don't have at the other two locations I usually go to. The optical department here is fairly large and it carries a lot of designer frames. I usually "get lost" in Costco warehouses for several hours. :) read more

Everyone's favorite place to buy in bulk! I'm here weekly to buy things I need. I'm also here weekly to buy things I don't need. What I like: Early shopping hours for Executive members, 5% cash back on gas for Costco Citi cardholders, Kirkland Signature products, $4.99 rotisserie chicken, samples, the whole bakery department, generous return policy What I don't like: Parking, new food court choices, the terrible Snowfox sushi, not enough gas pumps at this location, some of the produce goes bad really quickly, products are constantly rearranged around the warehouse, and you can only redeem rewards once a year I sound pretty negative pointing out all those minor inconveniences, but I will continue to shop here regardless because the membership pays for itself. read more

I LOVE Costco, but this is my least favorite Costco in the area. First off, the parking is ALWAYS horrendous (even a weekday afternoon!) and feels dangerous with the number of cars and pedestrians jammed together. Secondly, it's always busy and therefore there are times in which key staples, like eggs and roasted chicken have completely SOLD OUT. Lastly, and this is what prompted the review, the meat department was DECEPTIVE with the ground beef they sold! This was a nearly 7pound package, which appeared to be fresh outside, but when I got home and opened the package, the rest of the ground beef in the interior was brown!!! Refer to the photo to see what I mean. If I had known this, I (and many others) would not have purchased the ground beef. I always use the self checkout and it's great, I don't have to deal with anyone. But today I needed to pay with cash and the self checkout doesn't allow a cash payment. So I had to use the rude cashier and his barking ultra rude assistants to checkout, this is them barking their orders at me...Give Me Your Costco Card!" "Don't Stand There!" "Move Over There!" "Move Up So The Next Person Can Put Their Stuff On The Conveyer Belt!" (My transaction wasn't even completed, why am I moving up). Your employee even barked orders at the next customer in line, in which that customer was confused at her rude nasty behavior as well. Pre scanning my items all with unfriendly attitude, no smile no thank you no nothing. When i said thank you no reply. Nothing like a typical costco team member. Then went up to the register and Fredo was complaining about something someone asked and he was saying "thats not my job" he was sharing with a co worker! This is not how costco was. Review for Costco - Irvine (Technology Drive Location) I wish I didn't have to keep saying this, but maybe it's just time we face the truth: customer service in America has gotten worse--even as prices keep rising. The sad part is, you can pay someone $20-$23 an hour, but that doesn't guarantee excellent service. Especially not at the Costco in Irvine off Technology Drive. This location has given me some of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. And I hate to say it, but as a Black man, it's painfully clear when you're being treated differently. The service I receive here is consistently cold, dismissive, and disrespectful. It doesn't matter how much money you spend--they simply don't care. Today, I asked a simple question to an employee named Erica who was pre-scanning items. I asked, "Why do you pre-scan if the items have to be scanned again at the register?" She immediately got defensive and said, "Do you want to speak to my manager?" I wasn't being rude--I was just asking a question. Her tone and attitude were completely uncalled for. It got worse when I spoke to the assistant manager, Claudia. Before I even approached her, Erica had already gone over and said something to her. So when I did speak to Claudia, she was already standoffish, arms crossed, attitude ready. She didn't try to understand me. She didn't deescalate. She just looked like she was waiting for me to make one big gesture or raise my voice so she could label me "aggressive." And I'm standing there like, "I'm not even going to give you that energy." Because I'm not the bad guy here. You can tell when someone doesn't want to talk to you--and she made that clear. I left that conversation more frustrated, more disrespected, and more certain that this location doesn't value Black customers, doesn't value questions, and definitely doesn't value accountability. I come from a customer service background. I worked in fast food, retail, and management. We were making $5.75-$7.25 an hour--and we still showed up with respect and professionalism. So there's no excuse for this kind of behavior when you're making over $20/hour. This location also tries to cover diversity by having one Black employee on the whole floor, like that balances things out. It doesn't. It feels fake. The environment is uncomfortable, the energy is off, and the service is trash. I hate to write reviews like this, but I refuse to stay quiet. If you're Black, or just someone who values respect and good service, I recommend you take your money elsewhere. Costco as a company might be great, but this location? It's a joke. Do better. Not sure where the breakdown in pizza was, it's normally a relatively efficient system. But called an order in while shopping. Paid at the register in the warehouse. Came out to the food court to find 20-30 people standing and waiting, not to order food, just to pick up pizza. We have been standing here waiting in line for an hour now. And it's so much closer than the others I used to go to lol, I can't believe this location has been here all along... not more 25 minute trips to the other ones on Cabot rd, Laguna city I believe. Parking was a bit hectic here today Friday around 1:30 pm. But that's to be expected at all Costcos. I usually park a bit far from everyone, less traffic, but the exit was definitely a pain. I did not see a gas station here, but I didn't look for it either. Don't know if it has one (Not that I use it anyways lol). Did anyone else get sick after eating in the food court on Saturday 02/21/26??? I luckily did not partake in any of the food that we purchased. My wife and 2 young children did and have been struck with severe food poisoning, vomiting and stomach pains. We were able to pin point it to Costco due to this being the only meal recently that we didn't all consume. Really makes me question the quality and care of their cheap food. After a few more years, still shopping here and still buying too much. It has good value in bulk. Will I miss it if Costco suddenly disappears, maybe a little. Is it the worst Costco? Definitely, not the worst Costco. Is it the best Costco? No, but not fully the store's problem. There are just too many people sometimes. I like to schedule going early morning on a weekend or late evening on a weekday. The lot is still packed but at least you'll find a spot in a single loop. Some aren't friendly at all and give you the side eye when you kindly ask where a product is located. Customer service in the morning is horrendous. Tyler is a Jerk. Tyler and some of his coworkers decided it would be a great idea to crack inappropriate jokes in the back of the store near the paper towels. I'm not going into detail on what exactly was said but it is not at all for kids ears. And that's exactly what happened! While he's telling his jokes, a nice family walked by with 3 kids; mom had to cover the ears of the youngest due to his jokes. On another occasion, Tyler was running the self check out line and was scanning memberships prior to approaching the self check out counters. This one elderly couple only had 2 things they were buying so you would think this is an easy process. Not for Tyler, Tyler asked for their ID which was fine. It became apparent they had trouble hearing and also there was a language barrier. Asked agin, and they still don't understand. Final Tyler pulls out his card to show them what he needs a then mad a NASTY remark to them. Again, not repeating what was said but another customer scolded him for it. He was hoping no one heard him, but a few of us did. Costco this is not a one time occurrence with Tyler, I live nearby and it seems like every time I come in Tyler is doing something that he should absolutely not be doing. We have been Costco members for as long as I can remember probably 20 years. I am so over Costco right now. Crappy service cheap products all of it. I'm so done..... I was there yesterday and it was the worst experience ever we have an executive membership, which I am telling my husband that we don't need to do anymore. I'd rather go to Sam's Club. Maybe I will try them to see if there are any better. I don't know or maybe no club at all. It's a whole racket. The clothes there now are insane. Cheap quality nothing good anymore. Costco needs to get their crap together.... Maybe it's just Irvine. I bought some pajamas there yesterday. They're so short they are made for a person that is 4 feet tall. If you're going to get pajamas, you could make them for taller people and then they can trim them at the edge if they are too long for them, but these pajamas are so short.
