I go here quite often & If you're a small cater or a small restaurant and don't have an account with one of the Big Food broker's company, Restaurant Depot is a good place to get food and deals. They always have great selection of food at the Anaheim location and the service there is always great, friendly, and willing to help you out if you ever in need or have any questions. It does get a little busy here so they try hard to get you in and out as quickly as possible, and the selection of foods there is usually on point and beats most prices at other places. This is definitely a great secondary place. If you don't have an account with a big Food broker, I recommend this place. You do need a business license to get an account there.. they have a wide range of selections of foods Restaurant equipment & Anything you need for catering or a restaurant in itself. Great place to shop & I recommend it. read more

Went to Restaurant Depot with my girlfriend's parents before Mother's Day to pick up supplies for a Teppanyaki feast at home. Definitely a good spot if you're buying in bulk--tons of options for meats, seafood, and party-sized items. We ended up grabbing shrimp, scallops, hot dogs, and beef for the grill. That said, the experience in the cooler section was frustrating. We needed help identifying a cut of meat because the pricing area had multiple different labels and prices, but one of the employees basically refused to help and just told us to "look over there." Because of the confusion, we accidentally picked up two different cuts thinking they were the same and only realized it later at checkout. Overall, decent selection and useful if you're cooking for a group, but customer service could definitely be better. 3/5. read more

This location is far better and more convenient compared to others I've been to. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, and the aisles between the racks are well maintained. For a warehouse of this size, that's not easy to keep up with--I've worked in and managed warehouses before, so I definitely notice and appreciate that. The only downside is the snack selection. Compared to other locations, there are significantly fewer options, which was a bit surprising. Not sure why that is. Overall, it's a great place for buying in bulk, and the organization and cleanliness really stand out. read more

The only good thing in this place some of the cashier they're very nice but the manager who sent by the door spider guy standing speaking in his phone, eating seats in ignoring the customers who are standing their need help or need to ask questions have two different prices prices for public and prices for business which I found very odd. It's an excuse to steal your money read more

Restaurant Depot is a nationwide warehouse chain designed to serve the needs of restaurant operators and non-profit organizations, offering a one-stop shopping experience. Membership is free for business owners who can provide a business license or tax ID to prove they're in the food service industry. For regular folks like me, just ask for a one-day pass at the front desk, and you'll be able to explore the store. This place is a true treasure trove for anyone in the food industry. They have everything you could possibly need, from fresh meat, seafood, and produce to dairy products, canned goods, frozen pre-made foods, seasonings, sauces, desserts, bread, vegetables, fruits, drinks (coffee, tea, juice, soda), and even kitchen essentials like plates, utensils, napkins, plastic bags, take-out containers, and more. It also sells alcohol, but only licensed businesses can purchase it. Monthly specials are available on its website. Restaurant Depot at Huntington Beach is bright, spacious and each section is clearly marked for easy navigation. The store's signature blue-and-yellow shelving is not only practical but also a nod to their brand colors. One thing to note--about one-third of the store is a massive freezer section. A friend, knowing how cold it gets inside, so she handed me a jacket before we ventured in. Definitely a smart move! Since Restaurant Depot's products are packaged for bulk buying, most items come in large boxes or bags. The shopping carts are also extra large, resembling hotel bell carts, with a two-tier design that lets you load small items on top and stack bigger packages below. If you want to save some money, consider shopping with friends and splitting the large quantities. It's a great way to get restaurant-quality ingredients without breaking the bank. I really enjoyed shopping here with my friends. read more

Nice place, my first time here, people were so helpful, the lady on the front counter helped me with a such a great attitude.

Went here for the first time in years. I was in and out pretty quick but when I got to the parking lot Alonso helped me load my car so quickly! I had 5 heavy boxes I was not looking forward to loading and he had my car packed in literally 10 seconds. Such great service!!!! read more

one of the best restaurant depot locations in so cal. i own a food truck so i go to all of them. their service and selection is great here and the lines aren't usually that long like in other locations. you can always find a good selection of ground beef from 70/30 to angus ground chuck as well as all the different varieties of fries and lots of sliced cheese. hot dog selection generally good as well, and good produce selection as well as great frozen seafood/sushi grade fish. they also have a good stock of packaging and condiments. can't say that for all the other locations. the only ding is that it is far off the freeway exits. read more

I've been shopping here for almost 10 years and received the best customer service today by Cory. He was smiling and asked if we needed assistance and introduced himself. Since the kale was out, I asked him if they have anymore and he promptly stopped what he was doing and helped me look. He seems joyful and happy to work there and made us feel welcomed. He should be the head of customer service training for all jetro/restaurant depots. He is a perfect example of delivering great customer service. read more

I have no choice but to come here, however every time I do, you can feel the racism the workers give. They always discriminate towards my Hispanic boyfriend when we go. Every other customer they let walk out without checking the receipt, but only my bf gets checked. I stg if this happens again I'll be ultimate Karen and do a corporate call so the workers have to get mandatory training on how to treat people. read more

I was a loyal customer to restaurant depot for over 6 years. I buy at least over $200.000 worth stuff from them a year. My restaurant goes under construction for a year and a half and I didn't want to get stuck with these merchandise that I recently bought from them. They just give you hard time to not to take returns. Manager Marvin likes to act like little kid and likes to play around a lot!! You can't really talk to him in a serious way. It's really hard to do a business with guy who is childish! I can't believe Jetro let him manage a big investment like Huntington Beach location. It's sad. read more

Ok this place is a literal lifesaver. If you're a restaurant owner or buying for your student store at school. This place has it all. It's not Costco by any means. They're so different. The customer service here is some of the worst I've ever experienced. This is my second time coming to this establishment and it was almost as bad as the first. My first experience here was frustrating to say the least. Since it was my first time I wasn't sure where everything was, I spent about 30 minutes looking for one thing. I asked an employee if she could direct me towards where I needed to go for what I was looking for she told me an aisle number and I proceeded that way. I then could not find what I was looking for in the direction that she pointed me. I went back over to her and asked her again if she knew if it could be in a different place she then proceeded to tell me that "it was not her job to babysit me around the store and hold my hand to the isles that I was needed to be taken." I felt as if this was extremely rude and horrible Customer Service. I found it ironic as this is part of her job to help customers fine what they need. Continuing onto today my second time visiting Restaurant Depot i had quite a few things when I came to the checkout. I greeted the cashier and asked how her day was going she ignored my greeting and gave me a dirty look at the amount of things that I had on my cart. I then proceeded to keep to myself as she was checking me out but with every scan she gave a grunt or a sigh as if she was put out for having to ring me up. I understand the store was busy and that can be stressful but there was no reason for her to make me feel as if it was my fault that she had to ring up a big order. Again this is her job and the customer service was just not there. This store is essential to buying things that I need but unfortunately I dread every time that I have to come here as it is an unpleasant experience. I hope that the management takes time to express to their employees how important customer service is especially in a store setting. It is a customer service job and if you are somebody who can't provide proper customer service then maybe it's job is not for you. read more

I enjoy going to this location. Overall, it is a good experience if you're in a position or you have to facilitate large food-type orders. Overall, the location is clean, and the staff is friendly. Products are great. Customer service is shit. Nobody helped me when I walked in to get my online order, they were all standing around in a circle. Finally after 10 minutes, I found my order and asked one dude if I could take it. He said who's been helping you, when clearly he saw me standing and waiting. I said nobody and then finally some woman rang me up not saying a word. They really are rude here. read more

I am familiar with Restaurant Depot, and the last time I entered one was in Fountain Valley off of Euclid/405. When the lovely missus says, we should check out the Restaurant Depot on Gothard in Huntington Beach, I quickly agreed to check on paper goods like paper plates and napkins and papertowels and of course TP. Other provisions included cheese, herbs and spices and perhaps some vegies and fruits. Entry was easy enough, you must wear a mask and they had a table where you get yourself some thin plastic gloves. Carts were plentiful, the ones with four wheels that are hard to turn, but they carry a lot! Great if you own a restaurant and need a lot! We just need items for our own household use, and with just two persons, everything seems way to much, and yes, we shop at big stores quite often like the Costco brand. We found shredded cheese, Mangoes at a decent price, a large jar of Chopped Garlic in water and packages of tortillas. We struck out with the essential papergoods. Out of stock the young man said....we did find round 9" strong paperplates, but the price is great if you need a whole case worth. We just bought what we needed. The checking out part was otherwise contrary to some of the critical reviews I read. There were two checkers and one motioned to come over. She proceeded to scan all our item and had the other checker verify the content. Wow, all of a sudden there are 4 other people in line, and I just know that if they did reviews that it was going to be not so good. One checker and one counter. No, we didnt take long and it was easy to pay with a favorite credit card, but looking at the bottom line, we think we would do as good, if not better at our usual grocery stores. Restaurant Depot is for those that have restaurants and until Restaurant Depot makes it "general public" friendly, we would think twice about getting our general needs filled at Restaurant Depot. read more

Seriously where do they hire the people that work here they know where nothing is they can't help you and they're ruder than crap. This has to be one of the worst run businesses I have ever been into I've been told so by other people but since I've been coming here for about a year I've seen it 1st hand. If you can stay away from this place or go buy anything else you want from Web restaurant online. I am sure restaurant depot does not look at their reviews since they only get 2 and a 1/2 which is totally appropriate if not should be worse. They need to look at the big mouth girl they have working the front as you walk in on January 2nd. If that big mouth worked for me and spoke to my customers the way she does I would walk her on the spot. read more

Haven't even been there yet but special thank you to PETER for his excellent customer service. He took the time and gave the attention to my request for pricing information. He went above and beyond to help let me know about cost on other items so that I had something to compare pricing to. I didn't even have to ask for that. He also let me know of other items that I might need and where to find them when I get there. I really appreciated that he took the time to answer my questions because I planned on coming to the store from far. It's people like him who care that makes all the difference in the customer experience. He also let me know their policies and advised that I would be able to visit the store as a public consumer just no alcohol purchases and no returns. He was very kind and courteous over the phone and helped to give me exact numbers so I can make the right decisions for my purchase. He not only saved me time but he also helped me feel comfortable in making sure my visit goes well. I'm really grateful for his help and can't wait until I'm able to visit the store. It's his attention to detail and friendly attitude that will likely have me switching my visits here instead of Costco. I have a complaint against Geo Garcia, who is the manager of the location in Huntington Beach, CA. On 3/28/20 I called to ask if they had fresh salmon in stock. The woman on the phone kept me on hold for 10 minutes while she checked. She told me that had it and I asked her to confirm twice to make sure I didn't drive for nothing. When I arrived there the seafood aisle was almost empty and there was no one there. I went to the front desk to ask the manager and he said, "there was no fresh salmon these days." When I explained that the woman on the phone confirmed that they had it in stock he simply said it was a mistake. I said that I waited on the phone for 10 minutes and drove 20 minutes for a mistake and he replied angrily, "Yes, mistake," and proceeded to ignore me. He did not even look up from the monitor to address me or apologize. I understand that everyone makes mistakes and the current situation is causing everyone stress. The manager is supposed to represent the company but he failed with his rude attitude and actions. He seems to have no ability to do his job and show customers that they are valued. I hope to not seem him as a manager. read more

Today 12/23/2021 I'm writing this review. One thing the restaurant depot every location (Van Nuys, Torrance, Huntington Beach) that I've been to shared in common is "Bad Customer Service" even English language is not my native language and they don't even tried to help. One question is possibly get 3 different answers. The receptionist today was very rude not even tried to tell me that I can get what I need online. She has the bad attitude and her eyes was looking at me like "hey don't bother me ok". Some cashiers can be rude sometimes but still better than Van Nuys location like almost every ones "rude". I've been shopping at restaurant depot for over 5 years and still don't get it "why??" even I tried to be nice to them but still get the same response. Some day if someone be nice to me is just feeling win the lottery. I still need to shop here anyway or is this the reason why they can act rude to customer. Enjoy it while it last nothing last forever. read more
