I guess I looked like someone who would bother people? Or I'm the wrong color skin or in the wrong color hair? I legit walked into the store and was accosted by a Hispanic lady with dark wavy hair. I guess she was a manager and having a bad day because she absolutely accosted me about whether I was looking or buying. I mean, I've been in loss prevention jobs. I get it. But wtf? I'm a peppy person who has been in that store once before and bought a large amount but I didn't receive the third degree that time. I doubt I'll be going back because of that lady. I was even roped into way too long of a conversation with a guy last time I was there and maybe that's why the lady was so hostile towards me? Either way, if she wants business she needs to not judge people by their appearance and hound them literally the moment they walk in the door. Worst mom and pop 99 discount store I have ever been to. I only stopped in to browse because my boyfriend was getting a haircut in the same plaza and I am a dollar store enthusiast . The middle aged woman at the cash register is terribly rude. As soon as I walked in, she told me not to open the nail polish. I was simply looking at the colors. Not more than one minute later, I saw her kick a man out in front of a line of people for no reason saying " i told you not to come here anymore" and then once I started smelling the car air fresheners, she goes " why do you have to touch and smell everything?" It's like okay...b. calm down. You dont work for the CIA or the FBI..You work at the dollar store. Treating people like criminals for browsing.. It is dirty, cluttered, stuff every where and dangerous to walk through! But I got exactly what I was looking for!! Isn't that what counts!! Trying to save money for a reception my parents are having, we ordered flowers from OC Wholesale Florist. Trying to be as creative and thrifty as possible I thought I would scavenger through the 99 cent stores and see what I could find. SUCCESS!! They have lots of glass items, which I mention because other 99 cent stores have glass looking things that are plastic. Once I place my wholesale flowers into my 99 cent vase (which was actually ($1.49) It will look like a million bucks!! I have never in my life experienced such awful customer service & was discriminated against for wearing a light coat (strictly to cover up skin condition) the lady scolded my every move, was rude, told me I must steal bc I'm wearing a coat in hot weather, told me to not take anything throughout store & must leave at front, told me over and over not to open anything bc too much theft, didn't allow me to move huge safety hazard making things unreachable. When I finally told her that she was discriminatory , she yelled saying she could refuse business to anyone & owner told her to watch me bc I've been there before which it was my first and my last time in that awful store. 99 Cent Milk, which is awesome, especially for one person-- I can't drink more than 1 liter of milk in a week. It seems like this is a stop-off for transients and alcoholics, which makes sense, but it still makes me a little nervous to go in here alone. They sell a lot of great knick-knacks, but foodwise I might skip over the canned stuff. Most of it seems a little sketchy and not very good for you! For some reason this place seems to have items that other .99 cent stores do not. Nothing spectacular but just little nic nacs and what not that you just might love! Just 2 blocks from my house, makes it a nice little short trip to get things I need for cheap. Aisles seem to be kinda narrow for me. Maybe my shoulders are just too wide! =O haha Plenty of parking. I LOVVEEE these stores! I buy a lot of my groceries here believe it or not. They have tons of canned foods, pasta, sauces, spices, dressings. Their produce is also great! I wasn't expecting so much variety. They have lettuce, spinach, carrots, avocados, potatoes, peppers, radishes, celery, oranges, strawberries, blackberries, pomegranates, and lots of other stuff. Occasionally they even have Basil! I also come here for my household items such as utensils, kitchenware, cups, tupperware, containers, cleaning supplies etc. I come here before I shop anywhere else. read more

i stopped by this store cause i was in the area and needed some supplies for a bbq at a friend's house. i've been to other 99 cent stores, and this is not related to the main chain. i was pleasantly surprised to find all i needed for very cheap ... snacks, utensils, bowls, etc. while i was in there, i did see a wide variety of home goods, food, clothing, and toys ... almost everything for 99 cents and everything at what seemed to be wholesale prices! this is too far for me to go for regular shopping, but when i am in the area, i stop by to see if there is anything new that i can pick up for cheap. read more

this is one of my favorite store now, because every time i go there i never leave the store empty-handed. i always end up finding some cute such as neckalaces, earrings, makeup bags and more...=) the owner always makes sure the customer comes in satisfed and leaves satisfed as well. =) this store has everything from office supplies to household appliances. they have better bargains than walmart and target. i can't wait to come back this weekend to see what the store has for this week. =) so, stop on by and check it out this store because you will end up coming back like me. =) read more

As I walked in the owner was very loudly telling the poor woman with children, at the counter, that something she had picked out was $6.99 not .99cents, as the attached price tag, and the store signage, and store name imply. I should have taken that as a huge RED FLAG. I walked around the whole store, and it has mostly the same as every other 99cent/98cent/97cent/$1 stores...etc... They do have some stuff you don't see in the chains, but that stuff is pretty badly priced, definitely a lot of overpriced stuff. (example car floor mats for $35) Anyway, I found a set of rubber car door guards. There were 5 sets, and all were marked $1.99, so I went to cash out and was told, "Oh no these are $5.99 not $1.99 they marked wrong". I told her that there were 5 sets all marked $1.99, and she yelled at me "MARKED WRONG". Well I didn't mark them wrong, they did, so why is she yelling at me. I walked out, but thought about going back in, just on principles, and explaining American laws about bait and switch, and since they were all marked wrong, that they should honor the marked price, but decided that it wasn't worth it. I went to the closest Pep Boys and bought the same exact thing for $2.99 If you value your time and money I would not bother going in this place. A few of the reviews for this store are obviously for a real .99cent Store, the big chain around California, because this store DOES NOT HAVE FRUITS/VEGGIES/MILK, NO REFRIGERATED SECTION AT ALL.
