OMG this store has quickly become one of my favorite places! They have everything! Most of the…read morestore is $5 and below (hence the name) with some items that are a little more expensive like headphones, etc. I have found lots of things for work, my car, really any time I need something random. I'm on the go a lot, so I have found lots of things here I didnt even know I needed. They even have gym equipment and an electronic section. There's also a beauty section full of dupes for more expensive products like perfumes, makeup, skin care, and body care. The food aisle are really fun to browse through. They have lots of rare and hard to find snacks. They also have a lot of seasonal items and things that would be great for a last minute gift. They even have a ton of interesting books to choose from. You do need to keep track of what you're spending though, because even though most items are $5, it can add up quickly.

However, when I went to purchase four of these foam dart guns, which are very clearly marked $1, they rang up as $2 on the register. I asked the cashier to override it to honor the price & she said she was unable to & called over the shift manager, who also said they were unable to. It seems to me that is very poor customer service & improper business procedure to advertise one price & then not honor it. If Five Below feels that they need to shortchange public servants in order to conduct business, then I suppose they don't really deserve our patronage any longer.

When I discover treasures like this, I must ask myself: "What rock have I been hiding under my…read morewhole life?" Target may have met its match. I swear I came here for one item and only one. Since I had just moved and hadn't decided which reverse osmosis water filter to spend the wads of cash I don't have on, I went to what I had presumed was a basic-bitch grocery just for a jug of water. WATER. A responsible purchase to sustain me until I found an adequate filtration system. My head was in the right place. But once I entered this transcendent treasure, my heart sang so loudly that if this is wrong, I don't want to be right. 80% of my grocery shopping list items could be met just like they'd be at any other store--but for significantly cheaper. Beyond the lower price, the variety of products was euphoric. Organic, vegan, non-GMO, non-processed. You know...the good stuff. Look for: -raw almonds (as well as raw cashews) -Califia Farms peppermint mocha latte -Rhythm Carrot Sticks $1.99 (instead of $5.99 for the same-sized product at Whole Foods) -baked snap peas -organic produce (OG blueberries $4.99, OG Cuties $3.99) -ginger turmeric jackfruit chews -alcohol (Tahoe Blue vodka, which rivals my previous-go to Belvedere, $17.99) Unlike a "regular" store, you can't get EVERYTHING here. The only toothbrush available is soft or extra soft bristled. This is definitely the kind of place for fun finds and accidentally crossing off your essential needs. Also anticipate painfully long lines and lackluster customer service (hence only four stars). Perhaps in this sense, you get what you pay for. But if you're not too broke to pay attention, invest in my advice: Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is a cheap delight worth exploring.

Warning: Watch your change and always demand a receipt! Probably a good idea NOT to use cash, and…read moredon't let them rush you out the door. I was told my total was $34 and some change. I handed the cashier two $20s and received a dollar and some change back when I should have received nearly $6. It was late and I'd had a long day, so I didn't catch it until I got home. The cashier never gave me a receipt, and I felt rushed out after paying. He immediately started ringing up the next customer. I almost forgot my sparkling water on the counter. I went back to the store. The manager said she reviewed the camera footage and that the drawer was only 25 cents over -- as if I should just take my quarter and leave. I was shorted $4, not 25 cents. When I asked about a receipt, I was told the machine had been emptied and all receipts thrown out. The manager then expected me to recall the price of every item. I offered to walk the store and tally everything up myself, but she said no -- stay there, she would do it. When she returned, she came to $36, but she didn't get the items right. She claimed I had bought 3 soups at over a dollar each. I did not. They were tiny cans of pizza sauce at 50 cents each -- a significant difference. When I add up my items myself, I get $34 and change. Rather than resolve the discrepancy, she pointed out what a great deal I got... as if being overcharged is acceptable because the prices are low. She took my name and phone number and promised to call the next day. No call came. The manager claimed she reviewed the video and accounted for every item I purchased, yet my groceries do not add up to $38. I was given only $1 and some change back from two $20 bills. The math doesn't lie. The response from management was dismissive and unprofessional. Even though I am only 4 minutes from their store, I'll be shopping at a different Grocery Outlet from now on.

Love the store but service 0/5…read more My friend and I had stopped by this shop after taking pictures at Booth by Bryant to take a look around. This shop is very nicely organized and aesthetic, however, the lady at the cash register who might be the owner did not greet us or anything, and seemed very bothered by us just walking in. There are some colorful crates in the back part of the store that my friend wanted to take pictures with, so I asked the cashier first if it would be okay to do so, since I had noticed that she already looked upset, and she said "yes and thank you for asking first since some people don't even ask" and I had also purchased a $40 hat prior to asking. I take a few pictures of my friend and as we're looking at them some customers walk in and are taking a look around and we scooted to the corner so they can shop. As soon as they left the cashier comes up to us with so much attitude saying "you guys need to get out when customers come in, if you guys are doing this they can't shop." when we literally were no where in the way of the customers. The last thing my friend and I wanted was to make her upset, which is why we asked permission first and purchased an item so we could stay longer in the store. But, the lack of customer service and passive aggressive tone was what makes us not want to shop here anymore. A simple "if customers come in I would appreciate if you guys step aside for them to shop" (which we did either way) in the beginning when I first asked for permission would've been nice instead of telling us to "get out" after I had already purchased something.

Over the last decade, streetwear has really come into its own- building up from brands like LRG, Obey, and Stussy into The Hundreds, Triumvir, and countless others. Avenue's been through all of that, and the minute you walk in, you get a feeling that these guys really ain't no joke. The folks at Avenue live the lifestyle and believe in the art- because of that, the stuff they carry is always fresh and legit. I remember stumbling into Avenue back in high school, trying to find a place to quench my LRG fix. The main man behind the register, Arthur, not only helped me with what I was looking for, but really took the time out to explain the finer points of streetwear. Every time I stop by, he's always there doing his thing, and mindful of stuff I'd be interested in that's already out or coming out soon. It's places like Avenue that really show what OC is all about- not all that pretentiousness you see on Laguna Beach. Avenue represents this drive for a changing culture that I wish more people could appreciate and acknowledge for what it's worth.
