I am a sucker for a cute specialty market and this one is a cute German and multi-international specialty market. They had a little bit of everything from meats, cheeses, wine to candy , pastries and iced coffee. It is a sweet quaint market with none of the pretentiousness that a touristy spot may give. The prices are pretty decent and fair, some highly priced due to them being imported but many of them being on par with other like shops in places like the Original Farmers Market in LA. The associates were friendly and helpful. I ended up buying some chocolates and cookies. I would definitely come back if I am ever at Old World again. read more

This deli is located right next to the parking lot and entrance of the village. They have a few carts located to the left of the entrance next to handicap parking spots. It gives cave like vibes and maybe..maybe small neighborhood european marks feels due to the variety of items offered. They have meats, cold foods, bakery, grocery items, and various snacks and alcohol. We checked out their alcohol section to see if there were any unique items, but nothing really caught our eye. Probably because they were charging like $7 for a 12oz bottle. overall, I did not find anything really special about this deli. If it's a food item from a a nearby country they probably have it here. Everything I've had from the deli...meats, cheese and sausage is delicious. There's refrigerated and frozen cases with an amazing array of meats and other specialties such as pierogis. Oh, yes, the bakery: fresh bread and treats such as apple strudel. They have a nice variety of packaged groceries, cookies, etc. as well as beer and wine. read more

Nice selection and decorations of German/ European related goodies available here. Parking is free right outside the village area. Service is curt but efficient. There are deli meats and other niche fridge items also available for purchase. The pricing is comparable to regular grocery stores too. If you enjoy German candies like I do, this is a good spot to check out. read more

Went here on Christmas Eve to get all kinds of goodies and I'm happy to say that this place has lots to choose from the bakery is awesome. Lots of pastries and breads to try the deli counter had lots of meat to choose from sausages ham you name it they had it very German style. They also had selections of sausage sausages to get as well.. the store also has lots of authentic German choices to choose from candy chocolate, coffee, wine, alcohol jelly you name it they had a lot of it. Everybody working there was super nice. We would definitely come here again for all of our German treats and food.. read more

Two out of three employees I spoke to give off bad energy. The butcher was the person who handled me my iced mocha but said they were out of lids? He was the only employee that I thought was normal. I can also see and hear him with other customers and he is a 5/5 stars by himself on 2nd of August 0930 2025. The shop looks clean and organized and I do want to buy some cookies before I go but debating it because I don't know how I'll feel about the next employee I talk to. This place is truly a hidden gem with great customer service and a friendly staff. Since we've traveled to Germany many times, we love coming here to find German and European products. They often have a wine tasting table, along with a great selection of baked goods, frozen items, and shelf-stable products. The shop itself has a cute and charming atmosphere. Located inside Old World Village, this specialty store has too many great things to fit into one review, but if I had to pick highlights, it would definitely be their deli and bakery counter. They also carry a nice selection of liquor and other European goodies that can be hard to find elsewhere. While prices are a bit higher than average, many of these items are rare finds, usually only available online. Plus, visiting Old World Village itself is a fun experience, you never know what you'll come across until you see it in person! It's definitely worth a trip for a fresh pretzel, a warm loaf of bread, or some authentic Bavarian sausage. read more

There are two parking areas, for this establishment, the 1st is at the light & the second is further down, parking was a breeze. There is sufficient disabled parking at both parking lots. I was so caught up on the place, I forgot to take pictures. Note: cashier Susan L seems to be a nice person but needs to learn customer service skills, she doesn't deal well with multi-tasking, stresses out easily, and is vocal of such, and comes across as pushy. read more

I did make the mistake of stopping by on a Saturday coupled with a concert in the village so the store was packed. I need to stop by on weekday to allow more time to peruse. Selection of products is very good. Probably too good since we bought almost a $100 worth of items and could easily kept putting things in the basket. The imported items really make us happy: chocolates, meats, fish, cheese, beer, wine. I got some German wieners and Hungarian sausages, smoked salmon, chocolate, pasta. One of the things that sounded interesting was the paprika potato chips. We ate the bag on the car ride home. Similar to barbeque flavored chips but mostly paprika flavor and delicious. Staff was really kind but so misinformed on what they have and don't have on their menu and have no communication between themselves. My friend and I came to check out their Christmas market that's being advertised as grabbing a drink from their deli and shopping around the store. That wasn't the case. They have a martini on their menu but you pick it up at the bar around the corner which I guess makes sense, once over there they said we couldn't leave their little bar area because it was alcohol even though it was sold at the deli (the bar and deli are both inside the store). Mind you they have a list they're advertising for their Christmas special but only one is sold in the deli and the rest inside the bar but all are made and picked up at the bar. Food is also advertised at the deli but picked up elsewhere. We said ok that's fine and they told us to find a seat but there weren't any so she said we either stand or get a refund, we ended up getting a refund and decided to just order a caramel latte and an affogato. We were waiting at the deli for our coffee but they said we had to go back to the bar for a coffee... so we did and the lady told us they're out of ingredients for the affogato...we had to go back to the deli for a refund and order something else. The staff at the deli said they had no idea they were out of anything or why they make their coffees at the bar. At this point we just got two caramel lattes that tasted like milk with a splash of coffee. It was very busy and extremely loud which added to the frustration. I would like to come back and give them another chance but probably during the week at a random time to avoid the weekend crowd. read more

Been craving Princess cake for a while now since my local, Alpine Village Market went t!ts up- we're going behind the Orange Curtain kids! Tidy market, well stocked but serious lack of curry ketchup, prices are what they are (thanks tRump) but really I was there for cake. A lonely 3 slices on a Friday morning-start of the weekend should have tipped me off but I took the gamble. Wow, disappointing is the kindest thing I can say. Cake was tender, almost too since a Princess cake needs to have a sturdy sponge to hold up under the magnificent weight of marzipan but that won't be a problem at Old World! Not a speck of almond to be found instead you get a square of artificial synthetic almond flavored fondant that has the texture of dried toothpaste. Don't fret- the marshmallow icing will help take your mind off the indignity. read more

Deli section and bakery with cakes and other traditional and non traditional sweets. Attached restaurant has a decent menu of German/bavarian style foods. After picking up a few items in the grocery store we stopped for a bite to eat. Ordered a couple of appetizers to share and a cake flight for dessert. The ham and cheese pretzel sandwich was served on am a giant Bavarian pretzel with a selection of dips and spreads. The jaeger fries were similar to poutine with a mushroom style gravy and shredded cheese instead of the traditional cheese curds. Cake flight offered a selection of five decent sized slices which was more than sufficient for two people to sample. There were plenty of leftovers. Their 'perfect margarita' was delightful, and served with a grand marnier shot on the side. Staff is very kind and knowledgeable about the various menu items. This place used to have the best moist black forest cake. However, my last two visits were bad. The slice of cake which I ordered for $7 was dry and stale. The frosting on the cake tasted old. Overall great spot if you're looking for an authentic german deli. I used to go to Alpine Village for the sausages but since they closed down I've made my way over here. The sausages are great and they have a pretty good selection of items in the store. We tried a slice of the plum cake and the German chocolate cake, each $8. The plum cake was good, not overly sweet, but the German chocolate cake didn't taste fresh. The cake wasn't moist and tasted like it was from a couple days ago. Also got a very small Irish soda bread for $10 only to try it the next day and see it's salty instead of sweet. Checked the ingredients and there's no sugar, caught me off guard because I've never had Irish soda bread that was salty before but I wasn't a fan. Overall they have some good items but some of the bakery/pastry items are very overpriced. There's a small strudel and chocolate shop in the building over that I prefer if you're looking for sweets. Overall small store but they have the essentials! The deli counter is great and I definitely recommend stopping by for some tasty German sausages. read more

First time here and I definitely would have given 5 stars but as I was browsing the alcohol section the lady who does that section comes over asks if I need anything. I said no thank I'm just looking. Then she proceeded to ask if I was 21, Kind of thought that was rude to ask but I said yes I'm well over 21. Then she proceeded to talk about different types which were interesting but I did feel pressured to buy and did. Just not what I was going for because I did tell her I was just looking and even told her no I don't need anything. Went to checkout and the cashier never even said hi how are you. Really good place to make some trays for your next party, game day event, etc. Used them to make a charcuterie board recently for 5 people. What they provided was more than enough for us on the weekend - we could not finish it! Came with so many pieces of meat, cheeses, olives. It also came with a box of crackers and you can buy a loaf of bread with it if you want for $5. It also come with jams, honey, spicy almonds, etc. This was considerably cheaper than competitors who make these boards on their own. We were all pleased with this purchase. We also got a sausage platter to share. 4 different kinds of sausages all sliced up with different mustards and even a garlic herb butter which was amazing. Everything was boxed nicely and perfect for our weekend getaway in Palm Springs. Highly recommend using the German Deli for your party food needs. read more

Found this place yesterday when we went to Old World Village for Rare Vintage Air car show. This was the only place open during the car show and my do they have anything and everything you need. I had to stock up on my milka chocolates but could not resist the ready made items they had.. tried the pretzel dog- the sausage was so juicy and flavorful you didn't need mustard. Tried the beef pocket and pork pocket a little greasy but the crust was so crunchy and flaky. I'm not sure what was actually in it, kind of reminder me of an empanada but it was so flavorful that you didn't need any dipping sauces. . I couldn't leave without getting subverting for dessert, sadly the cannoli was disappointing, it was crunchy but had a weird after taste that I couldn't take another bite. Wow! didn't realize how close this was to Hollywood Dog Spa. This is OC Alpine Village and more. I walked into the store and I was like OMG I wish I had my cooler. Lots of Bavarian products everywhere-freezer, refrigerators, deli section, shelves, bakery, you name it, they have it all. Ahhh 1st thing I picked up was Mozart Marzipan Candy - a $30 box filled with 2 types of candy. Then mustard, gerkins, Spatzel - yes I know it's easy to make but I don't have time. I have been here a couple of times now and always find something new. I really like their stock of Milka chocolates and biscuits. So delicious! I also like their various selection of German baked goods. Range from chocolate croissants to apple strudel to pecan bars. All delicious and quite expenseive as well. I recently got their apple and plum strudel and they were each $6. The German chocolate black forest cake is super delicious. Bought it for the family and it was gone within minutes. Very fresh and light and super chocolately. Yikes! Staff here is very friendly and they have very authentic German outfits that they wear. This German Deli is also connected to the restaurant, whcih is very happening especially during Oktoberfest. The whole village is just adorable and right now they have just finished a room for Xmas decor and goodies (Mozart Marzipan candies, Glogg, and various candies).
