I got the 4 pc chicken dinner with a side of broasted potato and macaroni salad. I also got zucchini fries. The chicken and zucchini fries were delicious and seasoned well. It was juicy and not very oily at all. Loved it. The broasted potato was ok, didn't have as much seasoning as I would have liked but very soft. The macaroni salad was ok. I happened to be walking by and decided to try this place. I didn't realize they close so early for dinner. When I was leaving, I was told to call in with an order next time. While there were chairs and tables, I didn't get the feeling that this was a sit down type of restaurant, which is fine. Their chicken makes up for that and I will be coming back to get it again!

This is a great heathy ish alternative if you love Korean fried chicken. It's broasted and just as crispy as fried chicken. 4 pc chicken dinner $16 - Cajun seasoning, comes with 2 large broasted potato wedge and I selected Cole slaw. First off the potato wedge was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The chicken was crispy even after 25 mins on the road. It was juicy and the Cajun seasoning wasn't too salty. Fish sandwich $14 - this was equally delicious! The fish was tender and crispy. Basic sandwich filling and sauce but delicious because it was so simple. This is such a hole in a wall type of restaurant and the couple team is so kind!

Omg this place is beyond AMAZING....all this time in OC & I didn't know about this small mom & pop shop. Unbelievable! But I'm so glad I do now. So many regulars, love it. The owner greets everyone as soon as they walk in. She's so sweet. Her husband takes the orders and is nice as well. We can last night for dinner and came back just right now for a late lunch/pre-dinner. Last night we ordered the 4 piece lemon pepper with potato wedges and mac salad. Today I ordered 3 lemon pepper legs, my bf ordered 1 Cajun thigh, 2 Cajun breast and small fries. OMG....the seasoning is sooooo yummy! The chicken is super crispy, I love how it's crispy, but not greasy. The Cajun is also good, but I think lemon pepper is my favorite. I still want to try the original. The fries are also very crispy, but not greasy at all. They also have chips, sodas, snapple, and sandwiches. There's plenty of seats. We dined in both days, but did notice a lot of people just order to go, or some place phone orders because they would just walk in and pick up.

I was craving fried chicken and kept seeing rave reviews about the Broaster Chicken from Huckleberry's, so I had to try it for myself. Ordered: I ordered a 12 piece family meal, which came with Broasters potatoes, and Coleslaw. There were other options for the side too! I took everything to go and once I got home, I realized I definitely didn't need 12 pieces. A 6 piece family meal would be more than filling. Quality of Food: The chicken was moist, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Truly hit the spot :) Staff & Service: The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Parking: Parking was super easy! There was a large parking lot with plenty of spaces. Seating: There is also a large seating area, if you choose to dine in. I will be coming back for more Broaster Chicken :) Yummyyyy!

Super cozy sandwich shop n fry ran by the cutest Korean mom n pop Portion size is pretty fat for $15 which is almost unheard of in this economy. Every from start to finish is HOME MADE and generously seasoned. Fish sandwich was my favorite so far. The chicken is had an alright texture but a fantastic flavor. Both interactions I had with the owners were short n sweet. Comin back to try the rest of the sandwiches.

Cashew Chicken On Squaw with everything. Usually Order a medium and share it. This sandwich is local favorite and very popular. The place is great to eat at and very clean. The staff is a ma & pa, they just bring joy to the world, very nice and helpful. Let's talk about the broasted chicken, the only place in town and it's perfect. The broasted potato is a must side dish. While there I only saw people order these two items. The people are not wrong.

Super tasty and fresh Broasted chicken! The owners are also very nice and welcoming. I got the two piece chicken dinner meal and really enjoyed the chicken, potato wedges, and macaroni salad. I found it pretty cool that the potato wedges are just a potato cut into thirds so they're huge lol. The chicken was very flavorful, juicy, and came out piping hot. I will definitely come back here whenever I'm in town and craving chicken.

I've been coming to Huckleberry's for years and it is truly one of those special, family-run gems that you just don't find anymore. It's run by the sweetest couple, and you can feel the love in everything. From the way they greet you to the food itself. It's comforting, familiar, and just consistently soooo GOOD!!! I always get the tuna sandwich on squaw bread and I will never change it because it's perfect every single time. The bread is soft with just the right amount of sweetness, the tuna is flavorful without being heavy, and everything just tastes fresh and made with care. It's one of those meals that makes you sigh happily. The place itself is a total hole-in-the-wall in the best way -- cozy, simple, no frills, just genuinely great food and good people. It feels like home. If you're looking for a spot that's real, warm, and delicious... this is it! Please support them. Places like this deserve to stay around forever!!

This is a more healthy alternative for fried chicken. The chicken is made to order. So fresh and delicious. The husband and wife are so sweet and welcoming. The place is nice and well maintained. 10/10 would recommend!

    Ask the Community - Huckleberry's

Is anyone having issues with calling the number listed?

    Is the chicken breaded?

No, I don't think the chicken is breaded. It seems like it's just fried under pressure and sprinkled with delicious seasonings. It's delicious.

    Have you guys reopened yet?

Yes, they are open! Went last Saturday to grab some sandwiches!

    Did they reopened yet?

    They are open!

Is the chicken salad/tuna sandwich made with miracle whip(something close to that)? I HATE miracle whip but really want to try both of those sandwiches.

It doesn't matter , the sandwiches are delicious either way ! I hate miracle whip but unless you're eating mayonnaise and toast you won't be able to tell the difference lol

Do they have a Corned Beef Sandwich?

    But they have Pastrami!!

There are plenty of seats outside with some shade, but only a handful of tables inside. It's in a plaza with various other shops, so parking is very accessible. Food didn't take too long, I think we got our food after 10 minutes or so of waiting. Honestly the presentation is solid. I got The Bowl Bowl, and my friends ordered the chicken wrap, Newport Bowl, and we shared Za'atar and sweet potato fries. The bowls came with a citrus sauce, but we had to order extra garlic and chili sauce on the side for the wrap and fries. The fries with sauce were honestly sooo good. The sweet potato fries had this amazing soft texture and it melted in your mouth, the sweetness paired nicely with the sharp garlic sauce. The Za'atar fries were well seasoned and had a nice crisp. They give you a good amount for the price! I personally enjoyed The Bowl Bowl, the quinoa mixed with fresh corn, big chunks of sweet potato (I think they would have been better cut smaller), avocado, their grilled chicken, and chips. I mixed it with the sauce and additional toum and thought it was a perfect post-workout bowl. Hefty, nutritious, and good for the cost ($15). I tried a bit of the Newport Bowl and it was basically a regular salad bowl, nothing special and in my opinion - not worth the price. You're better off trying a more varied bowl or wrap. The chicken wrap was fine, there were some pickled veggies that added a good crunch. The main reason why I'm hesitant to come here again (besides the fries) is that the chicken was quite dry in all of these dishes, and it didn't really have a prominent char or flavor/smell that would indicate it's been charcoal grilled. I do want to try this place again when it's not as busy, basically to see if the chicken quality holds up to other reviews.

We were headed toward REI to grab some outdoor chairs and decided to stop at GHOST Sando Shop in Huntington Beach. I've driven past this place plenty of times and never really knew what it was. It also happened to be one of the only places open in the shopping center that early, so we figured, why not? Man, we had no idea what we were missing. We ordered the Melrose for ourselves and a Club for our daughter. Marco took our order and was also the one making the sandwiches. A few minutes after we sat down, he actually walked over and asked me, "Are you sure you want the pepperoncini and tomato on the Club?" My first thought was basically, uhhh... yeah, of course I do! Then it clicked. The Club was for our daughter. Marco had remembered that from our conversation when we ordered and knew that a lot of kids probably aren't exactly excited about pepperoncini and tomatoes. Meanwhile, Dad over here completely forgot to ask for them off. That might seem like such a small thing, but THAT is customer service. Marco wasn't just taking an order, collecting payment, and moving on to the next customer. He was actually paying attention. He remembered who the sandwich was for and took the extra few seconds to come over and double check before making it. Good looking out, Marco. Seriously. And that wasn't the only interaction we had with him. Marco was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. He talked with us, answered questions, and even gave us suggestions on other sandwiches we should try the next time we come back. Nothing felt forced or scripted. It was just genuine conversation from someone who seemed to actually care whether we enjoyed our experience. There were only two guys working while we were there, yet everything was running smoothly. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, the bright green interior gives the place its own personality, and there's plenty of seating inside along with a really nice outdoor patio area. And most importantly, the sandwiches were GOOD. The Melrose was a great first choice, and Melody enjoyed her Club, thankfully without Dad accidentally loading it up with pepperoncini. We also grabbed some Calypso lemonades, which went perfectly with everything. We originally stopped here simply because it was open and convenient. Now it's somewhere we'll intentionally come back to. There are thousands of places where you can buy a sandwich. What makes you remember a restaurant is usually the people behind the counter. Marco made us remember GHOST. Excellent food, clean restaurant, great atmosphere, and genuinely outstanding customer service. We'll definitely be back, and next time, Marco, we're taking you up on those recommendations.
