I received five quotes for the re-plastering of the pool and selected Crystal Clear not only because of their best price but because other quotes had additional costs that may or not be charged depending upon the condition of the existing plaster. While Chris Heath was examining the pool he was pretty confident that no issues would be found as opposed to the others just said maybe, maybe not. It felt like I as opening up myself to more charges later on. While waiting for them to begin the re-plaster and through the end of it I had a number of questions that came up. I texted them to Chris and by the end of the day I would have either a text from him answering the question or a phone call. Communication during the entire process was excellent. It reaffirmed my decision to use Crystal Clear. The results were beautiful. Stay the F* away! There is incompetency and then there is fraud. These guys are fraudulent. They sent us these weekly bills along with "pictures" of how our pool looks after cleaning. Guess what? These are old / fake photos. How do we know? Our pump has been broken for a few days, our pool is at half-level of water and green for over a week. They sent a picture of the pool "after service" which is crystal clear, and also showed a reading that our pump was working well. And... we got the last email while we were with a contractor looking at the pool. We also looked at some older photos they sent - the date of service that they sent the photos had trees / shrubs. These were removed a week earlier. We've called them so many times over the past week to discuss this, but no real response. We've resorted to having our credit card company deal with this. read more

I've used Crystal Clear for 10+ years, so I don't give a 1-star lightly. Was very happy with there service for several years, but a few years ago things started downhill sharply. - Technicians started simply not showing up to service. We'd still get billed, and it would take a lot of phone and email to get a credit. Sometimes I just gave up and took the hit, as long as the pool wasn't in trouble. - One tech (Lewis), when he did show up, left cigarette butts in my yard, and frequently neglected to clean. - Another tech (Jordan) failed to show up frequently; didn't backwash my filter for 2 months; emptied my skimmer baskets on my lawn; and one time called to tell me he couldn't make it because of traffic that day. Which would have been fine if I didn't see him through a window parked next to my house as he called me. The last straw was when all this turned into an Epic Algae Bloom. Jordan (the person servicing it!) commented on how bad it was, and that I (!) should do something about it. I tried calling them a few times, finally got them to say they'd come out sometime, and then nothing happened. By the time a tech came out, I was handling it myself. I've seen where the owner reads and responds to these reviews. Rather than comment to me on how the relationship could be salvaged, I'd suggest you look to your team. It has been clear for the last 2 years that they have no interest in making your business successful, retaining customers, or providing a quality service. Example? I wanted to buy a $4k heater off of you. I was told they couldn't get one for 5 months. 2 weeks later, I had a running pool heater from another company. And I have given them many, many 2nd chances on the issues above.... UPDATE: CCP&A are the only people that have done my chemicals. I've since learned that my cyanuric acid is at 189 PPM (should be ~50). I now have to dump almost my whole pool because their techs couldn't be bothered to check or manage the chemicals. read more

I started using Crystal Clear Pools & Spas to service my pool toward the end of 2017. Their reviews overall are pretty good. In spite of this, we started noticing spotty service. We got billed once a month for a full month's of service, but the technician was not coming every week as agreed. We would call and complain, and things would improve for a little while, but then the service would fade again. Finally, we made a pretty big stink because we had our pool resurfaced in September of 2017, and now it was already stained because they weren't keeping it clean. Once we made enough of a fuss, we were told they fired the guy who was supposed to be cleaning our pool. They said it would be no problem to remove the stains, and not to worry. I wasn't worried, until I got a bill for over $500 for stain removal -- stains that were only there because the guy did not clean the pool, which I had also paid for. Over the next few months, our new pool technician was consistent, so we paid the fees and started to regain faith in this company. We got through most of the summer without any issues. But in October/November, we started again noticing that the technician was failing to come for weeks at a time. We would call and complain, then they would clean the pool. The next week, we didn't complain, dirty pool. It was fall, so we had lots of leaves, and with some heavy storms, twigs and branches fell into the pool, where they sat for weeks. It is easy to recognize the same branch in the pool for a couple of weeks in a row. Of course their website says that they perform "comprehensive pool maintenance services including the following: Vacuum and Leaf-eat pool Remove Surface Debris Brush Pool Wall Surfaces... They didn't do any of this, again, for weeks at a time. The holidays were a busy time, so I ended up letting it slide until January. Then, I called and firmly complained. I explained that time and again I am having to pay for service that I am not getting. The next day, my pool was spotless, but they said that "because there were so many leaves in the pool gumming everything up, we will have to clean the filter." You guessed it... another $500 charge to clean the filter, which was dirty because they had left the pool unattended for weeks at a time. I spoke to the manager firmly and told him enough was enough, and this was his final chance. He assured me he would randomly check on the house himself to ensure that the work was being done to their specifications. He didn't refund any money for work that I paid for but didn't get, but he did strongly reassure me that I would never experience this issue again. So, as January becomes February, I went out of town for a few days. My pool day is Thursday. On Saturday, I came home to find that the pool was green with algea and plugged up with leaves. Clearly no one had cleaned the pool again this week. But, there in the mailbox was a bill for $313.93 for the work they didn't do. I called first thing Monday and told them they are fired. They say they vacuum the pool, but their guys don't have a vacuum on their truck when they come. If they come at all, they spend at most 10 minutes at the house. They do balance the chemicals, I guess, but they don't do any of the other things listed in their comprehensive maintenance service list. When their neglect gets to the point where the pool is totally disgusting, then they charge you again for actually cleaning it. That may not be everyone's experience, but it has been mine. The only good that came out of the interaction is that they agreed to cancel the bill for $313.93. Look at the attached pictures to see how my pool looked on Saturday. Again, Thursday was my scheduled cleaning day, so this was apparently how green a pool can get in two days. You tell me if you think they were providing the services they were charging for... I called Crystal Clear Pools as my waterfall had a slow leak (water was flowing through and coming into the pool even though the valve was set to off). I suspected the valve was letting water through so called and asked them to check. On the first visit, they fixed the drain plug on my heater (which has zero to do with the waterfall). OK, called them again because the water persisted to leak through the waterfall. Same tech came back out and told me it was some egg timers that my system had (mind you egg timers turn my pump off so no water is flowing). Told him I didn't think that was the issue and he assured me it was. It wasn't. Called them back out and this time because I also noticed a leak on my filter. On third visit filter is still leaking water and I'm not sure if anything was done to the waterfall. Unfortunately just not a great experience and wouldn't recommend them. read more

Crystal Clear did an exceptional job renovating my pool. Working with Brett & Johnnie was the best. They work well together and are very personable/down to earth (Brett was the salesman/Johnnie was the site foreman). What I love about this company is that they use their own employees to perform the work. They don't pick up day laborers from your local Home Depot and dump them on the job site. These are their actual employees who have done many unique jobs and place a high degree of quality on the work they perform. For that reason, Crystal Clear costs more money. It's been about 6 months since we've had our pool and we absolutely love it. It was a HUGE project that needed more than just normal planning. I spoke w/ numerous pool companies, but chose Jimmy and Crystal Clear Pools partly b/c of their quote, but mostly b/c of the good reviews and communication with me. This is a pool built on the side of the mountain that would need tons of concrete and steel. We set expectations about the process and the completion date and all were met. Our pool guy Adolfo keeps our pool crystalline and the water chemistry perfect - that's a real challenge since our pool is 3 pools flowing into each other with a waterfall and water fountains and surrounded by beautiful landscaping. With that comes acorns, leaves, and pollen all present significant challenges, but Adolfo always has our pool looking great for our residence. Our pool was green for the month of April under the care of Wet techs. I was told "Your pool is a difficult one, with the leaves and acid rain, it can't be kept clear." They tried everything, and charged for it all, but ultimately we had to terminate the relationship. Crystal Clear took over, visited daily, and within a week had it clear again. We called Crystal Clear to come out and repair the grout around our tile (much was mostly missing) and to clean the tile on our 30 year old in ground pool. Crystal Clear took care of our grout concern with a pliable calk like product that will expand and move with any changes to our deck. It took them a couple of tries to get the tile cleaned. Now, the new calk, tile and entire pool absolutely looks brand new. We also had Crystal Clear install us a real cool multi color light for the pool which is makes night swimming a lot of fun. We thought we had a slow leak in our pool and a neighbor highly recommended this company. They fixed his leak five years ago and he thought they were great. I contacted them to provide leak detection. I was frustrated initially because they would not return calls for me to order their service. The initial communication was very poor, but I pushed on because my neighbor spoke so highly of them. We finally booked the appointment after multiple calls. They came, detected where the slow leak. They circled the deck and drilled a small hole. I received a $600 invoice for the leak detection and $1,200 bid to have them do the work. No calls from them to explain what they found afterward. I just receivd an email with 2 invoices. I called and discussed the leak. I told thew will promptly pay the $600 (which I did). Then would call them back after discussing the repair work with my wife. We were already to hire them to complete the repair. I called and left a message. NO RETURN CALL. I then emailed the person who sent the invoice (Seth) and never heard from them. Considering what I already experienced when scheduling the leak detection, I stopped myself and thought..Why am I chasing this company to hire them? I am the customer. I had to chase them to hire for the leak detection and now I am chasing them to hire and complete the repair. What is the experience going to be like if I hire them to do the work and something goes wrong and need them to come back?? I already know the answer to that question, so reaching out to one of their competitors. This company obviously does not value their customers. read more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS, DONT USE THIS COMPANY!! Crystal Clear Pools cleaner Chris was at our house cleaning the pool and left the gate to our backyard open. After speaking to several other pool companies, they all agreed that this is the most important job of any pool company! My wife and kids were hysterical for an hour and a half of looking but we finally found our 5 month old puppies about a quarter mile from our home. I called Crystal Clear to let them know what had happened and since it was after hours, I had to leave a message. The next day I didn't receive a call from anyone checking on the puppies or to see if we even found them. I finally called them at 10:30 when I was transferred to a managers voicemail. Christian finally called me back with very little concern or care about the issue. He had many calls to return that morning and even though he had gotten my message earlier that morning, he hadn't worried enough to warrant a phone call. I am firing this company and I suggest you do the same if you care about you pets and family members. Thank god the dogs were safe and that none of the neighborhood kids wandered over into our pool. read more
