Unsafe and Shady Practices. They were good for about six months. Then it all started going downhill. They tell you they will list email you each week with what chemicals they use. At the end of the month, my bill started to be higher than expected, and it was due to "chemicals they show they used on their system, but didn't make it on the weekly email". I've used them consistently for a year, and my pool is currently green. My bill for this month? $800. That includes $300 of pool shock they never told me they were going to use. And it will cost even more to fix a green pool. They didn't tell you they were using pool shock treatments that were unsafe to then swim in? That is correct. Crazy honest and excellent service event when they couldn't help. First off, we have a pool with a host of problems. I called and Poolsmart after reading some reviews and their office help was even amazing. Carrie called me back immediately, texted me confirmation times and even helped to coordinate a later arrival of her team. Spot on great communication. Ryan came out to look at our pool for a quote and was patient and listened to our concerns. After doing some research, he decided his company wasn't the right fit for the work we needed done. My pool quickly turned green, I needed my pool up and running for the Memorial Day weekend, the pools filter was ready to be changed out after a few backwashes and to top it off the chlorinator was leaking pretty bad. I had never used poolsmart before and had called my regular pool company to clean my pump filters and vacuum my pool when I discovered I had dirt that accumulated in the bottom while it was covered for the winter. I thought my Polaris had been malfunctioning. My normal pool service could not come out for 3 weeks and I was leaving the county on vacation and needed everything taken careof before I left and the house sitter came. Ryan agreed to come out that week and ended up coming out on the Saturday before Labor Day. He discovered the manifold was severely cracked allowing DE powder to back up into the pool. Ryan found the part, repaired it, cleaned the filters/grids, vacuumed the pool and left everything looking great for a very reasonable price. All of this on a holiday weekend for someone that was not his regular client. That is above and beyond how people should run a business and he is now my pool guy forever. I've called Poolsmart two times now after having difficulties with 3 different pool companies. In both instances, Ryan has taken care of me and got my pool system back up and running quickly. The first call was to replace a UV that went back. I ordered one online and he came out and installed it. While installing the unit, he diagnosed two other issues with my pool. He took the time to explain to me how to fix one issue myself that saved me several hundreds of dollars. The second was a motor that was failing on the pump for the floor cleaning system. He came back the next day with a new motor and got the pump running again. I was so impressed with Ryan's service and patience in answering all my questions regarding my pool, I used Poolsmart again here recently for another pool issue. I had an issue with the spa draining in the pool. I tried to take care of it myself with replacing the check valves but the issue persisted. Ryan again came out and diagnosed the problem. To my dismay, Ryan explained to me there was another check valve that the pool builder (Cody Pools) put underground. I couldn't believe it...Ryan explained to me they probably did it for cosmetic purposes and sure enough, after some digging, he found the buried check valve. Once found, it was a simple fix. Again, while fixing this issue, he took the time to point out a couple more he found. He pointed out a small leak the pool had as well as pointed out some copper staining in my pool. He took the time to explain to me what was going on and how to fix it. I can't be more impressed with Ryan and the service he provides.
