My service person for my pool is Bryan and he is phenomenal. I have never had my pool's chemical levels so perfect as when he is working with me. He is very patient and very good at communicating with me and explaining things so that I can do some of it on my own. I had struggled with upkeep of my pool, but no longer have to worry about it. He does an excellent job, is very dependable and reliable. Very nice to work with as well. The only thing that I wish were better, is that this company does not do electronic billing and so you have to either pay a surcharge to use your credit card to pay your bill, or you have to write a check and mail it to them. I'm surprised at the level rating of this company, because they are honestly top notch. Its very possible after receiving feedback, they have changed and or improved things, for those customers that left a low review, because any time I've had issues or concerns, they rectify right away. Wade manages a great team, provides coaching and feedback to ensure any issues are rectified, and then always follows up. Also, our tech is Daiveante and he is AWESOME! They should clone Daiveante and have him service all of the pools in Austin! He is not only technically sound, with a lot of pool knowledge on technical issues with the pool tools/pipes/machinery, etc... but also cleans/chem checks our pool with a great level of detail. Hill Country Pools - continuing to deliver EXCEPTIONAL service!!! Jorge just left my property. My pump is working again, and my concern about not having water flowing during freezing temperatures has been alleviated. Just after noon on a Friday, I noticed that the fountains in our pool weren't working. I'd normally be okay with waiting a couple of days to identify the issue, but with freezing temperatures, we needed the water flowing ASAP so our pipes don't freeze. The HCP office team set the proper expectation that on a Friday afternoon, it might be hard to get a technician to my property. However, they would try to find a tech in the area who could drop in between calls given the nature of the issue. A couple of hours later the office called and let me know a tech was on the way. Jorge arrived shortly thereafter. He listened to my recap of the troubleshooting I tried. He quickly assessed the situation and determined the pump was clogged. He cleared the clog, fixed the source of the clog, and ran several tests to ensure all was working correctly. Our water is flowing. Our pipes should be safe from freezing. Thank you! Thank you! I cannot voice my frustration with this company loud enough. Maybe this review will reach ownership to reach out to me and rectify this situation once and for all. Because all of my calls and e-mails have not sunken into the staff that I have been dealing with. I paid lots of money to Hill Country Pools to install a Hayward OmniHub (stay away from this faulty product) It has not worked since it was installed despite the several visits to replace brand new parts. It has been three months since the installation and Hill Country Pools refuses to replace this. They actually had the audacity to say they would quote me a price to replace with another product!!! Can you imagine? Pay more money to replace a new defective product!!! A company that charges thousands of dollars for a product should stand behind it, even if the manufacturer refuses to. Don't take peoples money if you don't believe in the product. Highly recommend avoiding this business. We spent so much money having another pool company FIX and rehabilitate our pool after Hill Country "serviced" our pool for years under a previous home-owner. I honestly don't understand - the guys that come out to service the pool couldn't be nicer, but between the frustrations with ALL dealings with the office AND the fact that the pool is always cloudy, getting shocked weekly AND clearly lacking a proper chem balance - I wouldn't recommend this company. From the first visit - by Marc the owner - Hill Country Pools has been a great service-oriented company. When we finally admitted that our 5-yr-old pool would last a lot longer if we had professional help, I went looking on Yelp. HCP is in our neighborhood and well reviewed. They earn their 5-star rating. Example this week - suddenly our pool pump is running 24-hrs instead of 12/day, and I realize it has been running for 4 days straight! I call to request a technician asap! While they would be happy to comply, Marc suggests I give a good "thump" to the AquaLink box down by the pool, as it is likely to be a "stuck relay." Sure enough - the thump resolved the problem! No service call needed. When we decided it was time to replace the coping around our pool and resurface, we asked Marc for his recommendation on pool contractors. He and his technicians get to see all the local contractors' work actually functioning on a daily basis - and the problems. His advice to use Cody Pools was right on target. HCP services our pool once a month, always leaves a detailed note about what was done, what may need attention next, and any concerns. Unlike another service crew we used, they Never leave a trail of debris from the skimmer or trash. I always receive a helpful response from a real person when I call their office. Their technicians are happy to answer questions when I happen to be here when they come by. We are very happy with our clean, sparkling, healthy pool, thanks to Hill Country Pools. read more

I have used Hill Country Pool intermittently for years, and this spring I needed help with pool as I fractured my wrist. Office staff who answer phone are knowledgeable, staff that come out over stay their time if they are not going to clean...ie: too cloudy. They come back the next day and I was charged AGAIN and again too cloudy...on numerous occasions they said there was debris at bottom.... Yeah! That's why I hired you! Avoid this company. High turn over of staff. Had an Inadequately trained staff drain our pool too low and leave pump running while we were out of town. Ruined the pump by running it dry. Came home to neighbors complaining of metal-on-metal screeching pump for days. Tried to talk to the company. They sent someone out who said, "Your pump is broken." And charged us $115 to tell us what we told them! Refused to take responsibility for their mistake. Called 3x to speak to manager who refused to ever call back. I bought a pump from Hill country a bout a year a go not sure it was under warranty. I called to ask because I had a part go out. I left a message with voice mail asking some one to call me back and let me know if my product was still under warranty. Next morning there was a pool guy early they just showed up! No thank you . We used this company for 7 years and liked them fine. However, their attitude and performance has become unacceptable. They have sent out a replacement tech on multiple occasions and each time there were problems with our pool cleaning and equipment. The replacement they sent was obviously not a skilled and responsible to get the job done right. We had issues with our pump filter and our DE filter not being cleaned when it was needed. When we called Pat at the office, she was disinterested in our satisfaction or in keeping our business. For whatever reason, they are just not interested in customer service when their techs are at fault. Perhaps they have the personnel problem as we have seen more and more fill in poorly trained techs, after we had requested to keep a regular tech. We chose to discontinue their service. read more

I used hill country pool service to adjust my pool's schedule and conduct other technical check ups and get a quote for cleaning it. The service was good but they required a deposit and payment of 95 dollars before they send anyone so I gave my credit card information. Their representative came and helped me get a quote and adjusted the system. I just asked him if the payment was received in full for this visit and he said yes we charge 95 dollars for this visit. After three weeks, I received a letter stating that I need to pay $5 dollars extra for sales tax!! They should have let me know the full amount with the sales tax on the phone before I used their service. Five dollars is nothing but I agreed to use their service based on $95 dollars. For this reason, I won't be contacting them again or let them clean my pool. God knows what type of bill they will send me after one month read more

These folks rescued our green pool. They had a lot of work to do on it but completed the recovery quickly and have maintained the pool perfectly. The office answers their phone, the pool cleaners know what they are doing, they arrive weekly on the scheduled day and leave a note on the door about what treatments were done. We've been using HIll Country Pools for a long time for repairs and rescues when our pool got too bad for us to clean. They never promise to come earlier than they can, and they usually arrive sooner than they promise - what a change. More importantly, they always perform the minimum service necessary. I had green algae on sides and bottom of my pool for months. Other pool service companies were coming once a week cleaning my pool and telling me that they could not remove the green algae and my pool plaster had to be redone. I found Hill County Pool Service online and told them my pool problems. They sent Jorge to my home to take a look at my pool. Jorge was so professional and polite and really listened to my concerns. Finally, a pool service company that listened and went to work on the problem. Jorge adjusted the chemicals to perfection and now I have a beautiful clear pool again. All green algae gone!! We currently utilize HCP to clean and treat our pool. We bought our new house last summer and needed a pool company to service the pool. After seeing HCP's truck in our neighborhood, we decided to use their services. After purchasing a new polaris at their suggestion, and with their services, our pool was all set. At first, things were great! Sal would arrive regularly as scheduled and would leave a detailed door hanger of what he did. Recently, however, they started sending a different guy, sometimes even 2 guys. And on more than one occasion they skipped us altogether. We've called to inform them, but it doesn't seem like it matters to them. This past week, the day after our pool was cleaned, my husband found that the tail to our polaris was broken off, lying in one part of the pool while the polaris itself was in the other part. He tried to see if he could repair it himself, to no avail. After calling HCP and letting them know, they said that the cleaner claims he didn't do it. Of course he's going to say that. Now we can either take it into them to see if they can repair it, or wait until next week so the pool guy can look at it. Meanwhile the pool is collecting debris. Seriously considering switching companies to one that will appreciate it's customers. read more

I love this company. When we moved into our house we had no idea which pool company to use so we went with the one that the previous owner used (NOT Hill Country Pools). Within one month we fired them for being rude (the technician), overcharging us on the pool cleaning service (the owner) and the exaggerated quote their account manager gave us for installing a Polaris and getting our pool "up to par". In the interim, I'd received a nice letter from the owner of Hill Country Pools offering their services, so I gave them a call. They gave us an honest quote that was one-third the price of what the other company was going to charge us to install the Polaris. One year later, I couldn't be happier. Pat answers their phone and schedules the technicians and she couldn't be nicer (she also does the Polaris repairs!). Mark, who I think is the GM (not sure about this but he certainly could be the GM if he isn't already) is knowledgeable, professional and extremely courteous. In addition, every single guy they've sent to clean our pool has been wonderful. That's not to say that they send a different person every other week...we've only had three different guys service our pool the entire year. They are on-time, never overcharge, and they do an excellent job. They also alert us to repairs that need to be done even though our pool is under warranty with another company. Let me start by saying I am a firm believer in local mom and pop business' and I wish my experience here would have turned out much better. After 4 years of spending money hand over fist at this place I had some work done on my pool filter about 45 days ago and called for help because I was experiencing a leak in the same component that was worked on 45 days ago. I was told after 4 years of dedicated patronage and who knows how many HUNDREDS or even THOUSANDS of dollars, that the workmanship is only covered for 30 days and that if I wanted a serviceman to come look at it I would have to pay for it as well as anything he may need to do to fix the leak even if the leak is due to the workmanship that was done initially 45 days ago. I was floored to say the least, and "Pat" got an attitude and asked, "well do you want someone to come look at it or not". To that I responded and said I need someone to fix it properly. To that she responded, "you can always go somewhere else". That is not the type of service I would expect from a local "mom & pop" business or anywhere else for that matter. I thought I had a decent relationship with "Pat" apparently I was mistaken and I am VERY disappointed to say the least, and this store will not see another nickel from my bank account.
