Truly can't say enough positive things about the service that we received from Pristine Pools. I've been a DIY pool owner for 5 years, and was always able to get the pool where I needed it to be. Well, for anyone that knows what the winter of 2022/23 looked like in Austin, it was brutal with all the trees falling and limbs that dropped into our pool. Long story short, we had a LOT of debris in our pool, and after spending several months trying to get it blue, I was just not able. Enter Pristine Pools. John & Jeanette did a FANTASTIC job with the chemistry, service, clear communication, and equipment needed to get me from dark green to perfect, shimmering light blue water. I'm not getting paid to write this, but wow. It was actually almost a life changing service, after about 2 months of struggling daily to remove 6 inches of crud from the bottom of the pool without the right equipment, to getting us into a great space to enjoy our pool again. Not only did they fix the problem completely, but John also walked me through all the tools I would need to DIY it myself in the future, and gave me plenty of tips and tricks of the trade on what steps to take to not let this happen again. Sometimes, even as capable DIY'ers, we have to know when to hire the pros. John has a deep knowledge of pool chemistry, and stays up to date by attending events and pool contractor conferences. I'm glad so many people have had a good experience, and I was even referred to Pristine Pools by someone in the business, so my hopes were up. My experience has been miserable at best. I called and spoke to a very nice woman who seemed truly interested in my issue. She said they were busy, but would have someone by to take a look before the end of the week (it was Monday). They would call first so I could wrangle my dog, but not to worry, they'd have someone by the end of the week. Over a week later, someone finally showed up while I was out of town. They poked around a bit. Now, 5 days later, I still don't have a clean pool, a quote for cleaning, a quote for monthly maintenance, or even the first phone call. I understand being busy. Don't promise me you're going to have something by the end of the week, then in excess of two weeks later not even have a phone call. Amid the snow apocalypse, our pool was damaged, the hot tub drained into the pool and the waterfall pipes froze. We inquired about our position on the list to fix our pool, and were informed that 120 other pools were damaged. The pools that took priority were the ones without water...ummm..including our hot tub. Our pool has been on "service" for 5 weeks now, without an update, without a friendly response. It's filthy and we are left with a literal puddle of mud in our hot tub. We live in a million dollar house, now with a dirty pit in the back yard. We had not been satisfied with our service, as the "pool guy" turned on the water to "fill the hot tub" and who knows how many hours that ran before we realized it was draining the hot tub more, and filling the pool. He also came to "clean" our pool and despite our request to not dump the debris on our lawn he dumped it on our grass anyway. In an email, we once again expressed our concerns about the lack of quality service and just wanted an update to see where we stood with the pool repair. The response was "WE WILL TAKE YOU OFF THE SCHEDULE". Friendly? No. Quality workers? Absolutely not. The owners of the company helpful, or cared that they just dropped a client that has been faithful for 3 years? Nope. These owners purchased the company from the original owners and service got steadily worse after that. The pool is at a home we rent out and our tenant pays for it in her rent although we pay the company. We just let Pristine go after they left the tenant's water running for who knows how long and showed no interest in finding out or reporting what happened. Totally disrespectful to the tenant. Never called me back. They've been phoning it in for a long time. John and Jeanette with Pristine are not interested, inexperienced in pools and poor managers of employees. I'm adding to this to say if you have a brand new pool or newly plastered they might be passable for awhile but their service is atrocious and that comes through clearly. read more

We are relatively new pool owners and our pool had developed an algae problem that I couldn't cure. Other services could not come in a reasonable time. Pristine pools came out and visited 4 days in a row and had it clear again with advice of how to keep it that way. I got an email every time they visited. They offerred their services but also gave us information on how we could do it so we could choose what was best for us. I spoke with John on the final day and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. My only suggestion would be that their emailed reports should include the pool chemical readings and what specific actions they took during the visit. read more

I had a busted valve from the freeze that I asked them to replace but instead they capped it off and charged me the full amount less the cost of the valve. No phone call to check with me or anything. I will need to redo the entire job. I sent an email saying "I paid the bill but I am not happy as this was not what we discussed and will need to be redone". John responded with "I don't want to deal with a customer who is going to berate me". I couldn't believe he was such a tender baby about it. I used Pristine Pools for the first time this week. We have had a hell of a time with algae this year. It is probably our stupidness at getting the chemicals right, and we have a lot of oak trees. Plus we let our dogs swim (our black lab looooooves the pool). So I have gone through a couple of pool cleaning services. Javier came out to get our pool cleaned. We had algae that was adhering to the bottom of the pool. The water was clear, but green everywhere. SO frustrating!!!
