After the interviews and chose Pool Renovations by Alan based on his knowledge and experience but mostly because he was extremely honest. He was clear on when he would be able to start the job, what products he recommends based on his years of experience and his knowledge of the new products used for longevity. We are extremely happy with his work. Alan and his crew were respectful of our property and made sure not to disrupt our neighbors and leave any debris from the removal of the old surface and tile. His crew worked extremely hard, and I could tell that they had a lot of experience also. We also had work done on our pool pump and heater and his repair specialists Tony and Sharon took care of that and we are now ready for our next pool party. His pricing was right on point with the other companies I interviewed, and his timeline was faster than the others that said it would be months before they could complete the job. I have waited a year to write this review until the SECOND replaster was finished…read more During our intial ordeal, Alan came across very helpful and concerned about giving us a good deal. THen after we signed, he nickel and dimed us to death and only now I can see why.He was very chinzy on giving any warranty or guarantee on the work and materials. But he was always super prompt to pick up the scheduled payments... He touted all his vast experience in resurfacing pools but finally admitted ours was only the third one he had done-DISHONEST. Unfortunately, he was recommended by someone we found out was not reliable. Their pool has had numerous issues as well. And we later found plaster in the main jets-obstructing the flow and one of the spa jets never worked properly. So one year after the initial work, we had cracks and a few places the plaster had come off completely.He asked if we had dropped anything heavy in there-like a bowling ball??!! How absurd when everything floats! When we called him, he said we hadnt been taking care of the pool. We have had it 20 years and the initial plaster was only then needing to be replaced-same maintenance all those years. We had a few other experts look at it and said no way it should be failing after only a year. Turns out they did not put the proper "under" layer down that stabilizes the plaster so it won't crack. Cheap skate!! So Alan finally agreed to "patch" the holes. Luckily he sent out Emmanuel who said patching would look hideous and so he would replace the whole pool. He did a beautiful job. But since it happened in the summer with our exhorbitant water rates, we had to pay $700 to fill it. What a huge mistake hiring him-wasted so much time and money.It was a terrible ordeal-STAY AWAY!!

They were always on time, very careful with where they set up their gear so as not to interfere with anything we had to do, polite and respectful, and always available/willing to answer whatever questions I had, giving full explanations so I could understand all aspects of the job. The crew also cleaned up perfectly at the end of each day. David, theq owner, came daily to supervise the work and make certain it was being done to his expected perfection. We were so pleased with the final outcome that we added two additional projects which David was very happy to provide and again did an excellent job! Definitely recommend this company!!!

The WORST "expert" pool man. Joe re-did my parents pool entirely (gutted the entire pool, replaced…read moreeverything.) 1) His workers leave all their trash everywhere literally every single day. Cans and trash and food wrappers, concrete everywhere, which is my "dogs fault." 2) I have a husky that goes outside to use the restroom and there was a butcher knife right by the side of the pool. Joe said my dog took the butcher knife and placed it next to the pool. Horizontally perfect. 3) Anything that went wrong he BLAMED 100% on me, my parents or my dog. Literally never took responsibility for anything. 4) Joe DOES NOT answer the phone when he knows he did wrong. Just call him a few times and wait a couple of days. 5) Joe never gave my parents a receipt for the job, even though he said he would 4 plus times.He even had the audacity to tell me and my parents that he left the paper outside on the patio and he said that if we didn't get it, it is our fault. He of course did not leave any type of papers. Plus if he was going to do that would he not have the decency to give it to my parents' in their hands???? I know for a fact he left no type of paper. 6) Joe said I was harassing him (I am the daughter of my parents.) because I was telling him to please not mess with my parents and give them a receipt. To this very day we still have never gotten a receipt. 7) The tiles have already cracked off, including some cracks on the plaster inside the pool, leading to leaks. (he said he would come by and fix it but he didn't.) 8) Joe took down the door of the backyard (of course necessary) and literally had it on the floor after it had been raining left with all this nice wet dirt. Its ok he has no time to have it leaned on a wall by my house or out of his way. 9) He decided to go and bring his supplies (plaster,concrete,paint,tiles etc.) through the left side of my parents house which was within OUR property line, but because the older woman next door, to my parents house did not want the grass being messed with, she got really upset and told them to use the other side. BUT Joe took the initiative to listen to a woman that has no right to tell them to go through the other side. IT IS OUR PROPERTY LINE. NOT HERS. Therefore he took the directions of the older woman next door and decided to go to the right side of the property where the pool filter was connected. 10) He took out my parents pool filter machine without even letting us know and left it in the grass like it was thrown there. 11) Joe doesn't even ask or tell my parents anything about any situation. My dad had to play investigator. 12) He removed all the water from the pool onto the public street, which is illegal in Leon Valley. Lucky my parents, nor him got a violation. 13) We had gotten Joe to re-do the concrete surrounding the pool because it was shifting and if not fixed the pool would not be salvageable. When he redid the concrete around the pool he did not set up his foundation properly. Barb wiring and the wrong type of soil. (That's a whole story on its own.) 14) Left paint stains on top of tiles and had the dripping look, where you could tell it was done very quickly. If you want a guy who blames all issues on you, leaves a butcher knife outside, trash and concrete everywhere, blames a dog took everything (concrete,knife,trash) and spread it around the backyard. Then this is your man! Have your own documentation, and be willing to be outside when the workers do their job. I was never going to write a review but my dad still tells me the issues that he has and how he is getting our monthly pool man to fix them. It made me very stressed because we have a entire year of "insurance" on the pool from Joe, so anything that goes wrong he will fix. Which he never did. Seriously this is a joke. I am upset because of what he did to my parents.My parents mean the world to me, and to see them upset makes me very sad and protective. They are older and they do not need the stress of some man who gets his money and goes missing. Thank you Joe If I knew then what I know now, you would never have stepped foot onto my parents property.

Tony even explained in detail the work that he would do. We are so happy with the results and are extremely grateful that they are available for contact and prompt to respond. Great value! Jack and his team have no interest in maintaining pool chemistry or properly cleaning the pool…read more They don't rinse out the skimmer baskets or seat them properly in the well. They don't test the pool chemistry. I had zero free chlorine just 2 days after service. The pH was way too high as well as the CYA. The pool was very cloudy one time and they did nothing about it when they came out. I had to call them back to fix their sub-par work. When I confronted them about the dirty skimmer baskets, Jack denied responsibility rather than man up and fix it. I'm going to find a real professional to maintain my pool instead of Jack and his 10-year-old employee. The pictures are AFTER they "cleaned" the pool!
