I've had to call him several times with some sort of pool related emergency and he has always responded back in a timely manner and showed up to fix the problems accordingly. Especially, after the ice storm back in 2021 where our pool took a beating due to the electricity being out for a week. He and one of his technicians showed up as soon as we got electricity back and triaged the problems and gave us a fair quote to fix them. What I'm unfortunately just now finding out is that the fix was nothing more than a temporary patch that's now causing other problems. They coated the inside of the skimmer including joint between the skimmer and pipe with epoxy, which also filled in all the threads that are used to screw in a standpipe or other equipment that is used to facilitate other types of pool maintenance and repair. Which brings me to today. I have a leak somewhere underground between my skimmer & my pump. The repairman I had out would like to simply to simply screw his equipment into the skimmer to pressurize it -- so he can then find the leak by listening with something like a fancy stethoscope. The problem is that because of the amateur repair job done years ago he cannot screw anything into the skimmer, nor he can any of his bladders seal because the epoxy job is all uneven and irregular. He has a plan B but it's not as easy and will cost more. Live and learn.

While performing the work, Jake suggested that we cap off a large black pipe he said wasn't needed. After discussing it, we told him that the pool had worked with that pipe for over 50 years and he was not to cap it, just recreate the current configuration. All seemed well and his finishing work to match the washed aggregate deck was great. We have struggled to keep our pool from turning green ever since! After spending all last summer trying all of the standard water treatment approaches and pump upgrades and maintenance, we now know the drain is not functioning the way it was intended due to a change in the routing because it was apparently less work. This was diagnosed by another pool company who understands older pools. They determined that his solution would probably work for the newer pools, but it was a mistake to change this on a pool that has worked perfectly for over 50 years. I even waited until this summer to post my review since Jake insisted last summer's heat was unprecedented and that was the culprit. Well, it's just NOW hitting the mid to upper 80's and my crystal blue pool is already a green pond. If you don't have a NEWER pool (made from 1990's on), this is not the pool repair company for you!

While Chris Heath was examining the pool he was pretty confident that no issues would be found as opposed to the others just said maybe, maybe not. It felt like I as opening up myself to more charges later on. While waiting for them to begin the re-plaster and through the end of it I had a number of questions that came up. I texted them to Chris and by the end of the day I would have either a text from him answering the question or a phone call. Communication during the entire process was excellent. It reaffirmed my decision to use Crystal Clear. The results were beautiful. My thoughts were that it was nicer then when it was new, without prompting my wife actually said that very thing when she first saw it.

TLDR: DO NOT USE Caribbean Blue Pools for ANY sort of pool renovations.  The quality of work and…read moreprofessionalism is obsolete.  I had a 30k+ pool renovation that they made a nightmare, details below.  I could not regret more, choosing them to do my renovations.  There is no upside to using Caribbean Blue Pools, I urge anyone considering pool renovations to skip them.  They do not care about you as a customer and will take advantage. **Update** The leak that Ken "fixed" did not hold and I will have to rerip up my finished pool for the 3rd time.  Ken failed to property renovate the pool and pressure test the lines before starting the renovation (which is the industry standard for a non working pool).  I messaged him to work through this and he did not respond.  I had an outdated and not working pool in the house I recently moved into.  I know nothing about pools and reached out to Ken to do a full remodel (tile, plaster, lights, equipment, etc) everything to get a pool up and running.  Ken reassured me that he had 20 years of experience and that they were fully competent to get my pool up and running. I cut a check for 10k and they got going.  He installed the equipment and contracted the tile and plastering out to another company.  When they finished and went to fill the pool, all the problems started.  The pool would not hold water and my yard started flooding.   Ken requested the reaming 20k for a "job well done".  I let him know that my pool was not working and I was not comfortable paying the full amount.  He lost it on me and told me that he has done his job and demands to be paid in full.  I paid for the work and proceeded to watch my BRAND NEW pool drain and flood my backyard.  I had to hire a third party leak detector that informed me a have a pool leak under my brand new pool deck.  I reached out to Ken multiple times and he told me "This isn't my problem your pool never worked when we started on it". I called him to talk through the situation and knowing nothing about pools, felt extremely helpless.  He LITERALLY laughed at me (I have this recorded) saying this is why I have my contract about testing for leaks before we start our work (Ha,ha,ha).  You have 20 years experience Ken, if you're so proud of it, use it to inform your clients of work that needed to be done! He admitted knowing that there was an issue with the hot tub holding water but failed to rely the importance of this to me before starting.  He also did not pressure test the lines before starting the work.  This cost me having just completed my full renovation (deck included) to have the brand new deck ripped up along with the brand new tile of the hot tub. The issues only furthered from there.  The leak detector informed me that the equipment that Ken with 20+ years of pool experience installed, was done incorrectly.  (Video here: https://youtu.be/4rjEOiIEPjE)  He did not ground my pool equipment and even left the equipment unbolted to the concrete slab which would have broke my pipes.  Leaving pool equipment unbonded is illegal.  Ken just did not want to do the work, due to the ground wire being harder to find.  I would NEVER have known that my equipment wasn't even properly installed unless I had been told (Ken knew this and never mentioned it to me!). The leak detector had a tough time locating the leak and Ken demanded that he speak to the leak detector.  Ken suggested digging into the floor of the brand new hot tub to look for the leak.  Unfortunately, this wasnt were the leak was and Ken's suggestion ended up costing me an additional $400, which he charged me to fix!  Thank you! He then wrote up a quote to fix a new targeted leak of the pool.  This was finally finished and supposedly I have a working pool.  Shockingly, the pool is still not holding water and I have the leak detector come back out.  I come to find that I also have a bad drain, plug and multiport valve that need to be replaced for another $500.  This should have been caught during the entire equipment revamp.  Ken also charged me an additional $1,500 to fix a leak that he suspected was there before starting the work.  I am also still waiting and will have to pay to have my brand new deck fixed due to this company's negligence. Do not trust them with large jobs.  If you want someone to just dump chemicals in your pool and collect your money, feel free but leave the large work for another company.
