Used South Austin Pool Service again recently, pump went out and was looking at a 3K replacement. They were able to get things working for a FRACTION of the cost. I bet if I brought out 10 different companies, 5 of them would have just make me switch the pump out for the 3K. I appreciate the effort and honesty of this small business! read more

Apparently, Derek had some time free up because he dropped by several days before our appointed date. That was great, our pool was getting greener by the day. He fixed the air leaks and replaced all of the old pipes and fittings quickly and at a reasonable price. Our old pool guy failed to fix the air leak after two attempts and a big bill. Derek really knows what he is doing; he will be our go-to pool equipment repair guy hereafter. read more

Derek and South Austin Pool Service were incredible. Replaced the motor in my pool pump. Not an easy job as rust had eaten away the lower plate and welded the nuts closed. Derek apparently liked the challenge. Highly recommended. Honest, skilled, efficient, great value. read more

Never finished the job. Left incomplete and unpaid subcontractors. Now there's a lien from the workers on the house.

Replacement of heater...I started a customer/ business relationship with Steve and Derick... they go over and above at first time/initial business transaction. Their first transaction with me is in a previous review and I gave them 5 stars. I am lucky to have this service and honesty in south Austin. Just had a new job done and I'm quite happy. read more

Been using these guys for years and if you own a pool you know when things go wrong you need someone there STAT. Steve and Derek (who recently took over the business) have always responded immediately and they don't quit until they've fixed the problem. I can't recommend these guys enough if you need any work done to your pool!! read more

Steve was able to come to our house very quickly (less than an hour as we live in South Austin) when almost everyone else was several days out. He fixed our emergency issue in minutes and made me a laugh a few times while doing the work. We even asked him to quote some non-emergency work as well. read more

Great response time and very helpful in getting my pool timer repaired. Turns out the previous owner didn't even have the timers grounded. Steve even gave me some extra tips on my pool filter after he finished up. Highly recommend read more

Excellent job and responsiveness. Most pool repair companies are not responding to requests. This company called me back within a day or two, and had someone on site within 24 hours after our call. They repaired my pump, and came back a few hours later to look at and repair an O ring that also needed help. They were kind, courteous, responsive and effective. I highly recommend speaking with them. read more

Can't say enough about Steve's business. I'm a new pool owner and trying to learn on the fly and when I got caught in a sticky situation Steve spent an hour on the phone trying to troubleshoot with me. He also helped bring my savior Forest the next day to get things back on track. Steve and Forest are honest fellas that really understand how to treat customers right. They go above and beyond to ensure every little detail is covered and you are setup for success in the difficult journey that is pool ownership. If you found this page and this review you're in the right place and just embrace the exemplary customer service and knowledge you'll gain. Thanks so much Steve and Forest I'm glad to be in good hands. read more

They were awesome installed a new heater and changed the sand in our filter. They even stayed late to make sure our propane line was capped so we could use the bbq. read more

I called Steve to look at a pump problem. He promptly returned my call and agreed upon a time to meet the next day. About an hour before our appointment Steve contacted me to say his morning job was taking longer than expected so we rescheduled to late afternoon. I really appreciated Steve's communication including a call to let me know he was on his way and would be at my home at 4pm. Once Steve arrived I explained the problem and what I had already tried to do to fix it. Steve listened and got to work. The issue was promptly resolved. It became clear to me that Steve knows his stuff as we discussed the possible root causes for the issue and other aspects of pool equipment. Steve was extremely easy to work with and I highly recommend him for pool equipment service. He will be my go to guy from now on. read more

When I had a new chlorinator installed, the service tech who did the work cut off a separation tank line and didn't reattach it, which immediately caused a diverter valve to leak. As the leak got worse, I tried to get him out to fix it but after a few promises, he ghosted me. I had two other companies come out and look at it and they too ghosted me. Apparently dealing with pipes is daunting for some pool service companies. So when Derek with South Austin Pools showed up and said, "I love working on pipes," I knew I'd found my new go-to pool service company. Derek arrived around 5 pm because of a delay with a prior job. Normally, I would just assume he'd take a look and say he'd come back another day, but he just dug in and got the job done in about 90 minutes. Amazing! This job that scared away other pool companies was accomplished in no time, simply because the service tech was a professional who knew what he was doing and enjoyed the work! And to top it off, their rates are very competitive. I plan to make South Austin Pool Service my new repair and service company for all things pool-related and can't recommend them highly enough! read more

Steve does such a great job and is incredibly thorough. He's always quick to respond, no matter the time of day and is always trying to help. My pool wasn't flowing properly the other day and he helped me solve the problem, for free. He's been doing this for years and his knowledge of all things pool-related is unsurpassed. read more

Steve is great. I found him on Yelp few years ago when my go to technician became non-responsive. He's done a variety of repairs for me, and always shows up on time. He has expertise, competitive rates, and a friendly disposition. I highly recommend him if you need help of any kind with your pool or spa. read more

Steve was here to save the day! I had some pump issues. Steve got back to me quick and fixed the problem. He also helped educate me on my new purchase of the pump. Yay! On my way to sunny days. read more

I can't recommend this company enough. We are just one of tons of pool owners in TX who experienced damage from the February storms. It's been a complete nightmare finding parts. Even though we ordered them right after the storm, three months later... nothing. Most companies are telling people it will be fall before parts are shipped. I was referred to Steve who came right out, assessed our damage and fixed everything all within a weeks' time. Thank you so much Steve. You've completely changed the course of our summer! read more

FIND SOMEONE ELSE!! Recently purchased a home in south Austin and the pool needs a few repairs. We are set to close in 10 days and I reached out to Steve to get a quote knowing repairs were very delayed due to recent snow storm. Steve went by the house to check things out and sent one message with what was wrong. See his second message below. I was in SHOCK! Steve may be unsure how buying a house works but nonetheless I couldnt believe the sheer unprofessional tone in his response. Why does it matter if I own this house today when you give the estimate or in 2 weeks when you fix it? I'm a paying customer... he was only going to charge me for the estimate after he found out I haven't closed on the house? This makes no sense. I had every intention of using Steve for my costly pool repairs- but please save yourself the trouble. There are plenty of hard working pool companies out there who deserve your business, Steve doesn't. read more

South Austin Pool Service - Text showing their rude reply - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me

We had a pretty significant leak in our pool equipment, and Steve did a fantastic job diagnosing and repairing it. He showed me exactly what was going on and the options we had for fixing it. We was very cognizant of the cost and did everything he could to keep the price down. Overall, I was very happy with the job he did, and I will definitely call Steve and South Austin Pool Service for all my pool repairs and upgrades going forward. read more

Steve is easy to work with, trustworthy and honest. We have an older pool with kind of a funky set up and my husband likes to do all our maintenance. When our pump started to leak we knew we needed it replaced and called South Austin Pool Service to get a quote. He gave us a fair quote and got our new pump installed promptly. After installation we noticed more air in the return than before and Steve came back out to make a few adjustments at no charge. We will be calling Steve at South Austin Pool Service for all our pool needs and so should you! read more

Steve is a great pool guy and also great to work with. Very easy to talk to and gives you good information and options on getting stuff done. Also, he is one of the very few local certified pool professionals that can help you with getting the right equipment and rebates thru the city of Austin program. I had him replace a pump, got a really nice new Pentair installed and working in no time, will definitely use him for any other pool work and would highly recommend his services. read more

Top notch service. Steve returned my call promptly, set an appointment for two days later, called at noon that day to give a precise time, as he said he would. Then called 30 minutes before to confirm. I had a difficult to remove clog in my system. Steve efficiently and logically worked the problem and actually found and got rid of two clogs. His rates are fair and reasonably and he is clearly very knowledgeable. Highly recommended. read more

Steve was responsive and efficient. We had a pool pipe burst (thanks to shoddy work by our previous pool company) and flood our lawn. Steve was there the same day and fixed it for less than he'd quoted since the fix was easier than anticipated. read more

South Austin Pool Service is the best pool service I've found in 20 years of commercial property management. Over the years we had one good pool service that went out of business and then two others that could not keep the water clear. They blamed the equipment, us, our tenants and never considered that they were the problem. Steve came along and we've never looked back. Our two pools at different locations (with completely different pumps) are crystal clear every day of the year. If he can beat everyone else with commercial pools then I'm sure he can handle residential pools or anything that comes his way. Thank you Steve! read more
