It is one thing to have a disagreement with a party (or to stop services while the corny is on vacation). It is another entirely to go as far as you have. This is the level of kindergarten bickering. Keith has been the guy to show up when all the contractors I fired would have failed me. I own two 20,000 gallon pools and two spas in West Rim. EDIT: Decided to re-write this after thinking about the situation for a few days.... Keith/Pool Police quit after servicing my pool for 7 weeks. He gave no notice, and quit via text message. I don't feel like I got a straight story from Keith. However, he did service our pool through the time that he was paid. In my opinion he did improve the quality and appearance of our pool. We were satisfied with the quality of his work right up to the point that he quit. I'm not sure why Keith chose to quit - and leave on poor terms. Since the cryptic text message he sent me makes no sense, I've come to the conclusion that Keith decided that caring for our pool was more challenging than he initially expected and he made a "business decision" to quit. We do have a major construction project happening next door. The past month has been dry and windy - resulting in dust from this project blowing in our pool. I'm sure that this resulted in more work - at a minimum the pool needed to be vacuumed each week. Keith could have discussed the situation with me at any time - I was open to suggestion - including the payment of a reasonable "premium" while the construction project was ongoing. He chose not to do this and instead quit and walked away with no discussion. Since Keith is a one-man shop his spur of the moment decision is pretty much what you get. If you are considering Keith/The Pool Police, his work (while it lasted) was acceptable - but he apparently isn't willing to communicate or discuss issues with his customers. Pool service isn't brain surgery, many companies in town are capable of it. You may want to consider the overall reliability of the service - including a company that has a little management and oversight. read more

His service was a amazing, and he had been working for us for more than a year. We had one conversation via text that seemed a bit snippy. He came out and gave us a full service, including vacuuming, the pool was gorgeous and then came to the door to quit. Said he lost another customer in the area and wasn't going to continue service, in JULY. I sent him a text, offered him more money to make an exception for our pool, it was unanswered. I sent him one more text to ask for a reference, and it too was unanswered. I was thrilled, beyond thrilled with his service and counted him as one of the valued folks in our lives. Then he quit, without notice in the height of swimming season. I called 3 other services that were all booked out, until I finally found one who will start service for double Keith's fees. I'm not sure how to go on this one, he is a super great guy and extremely helpful, including he helped us out with some bees a few months ago. We have been with The Pool Police for about 3 years. I must say that in those 3 years our pool has ALWAYS been sparkling clean. And I don't believe we have had even a day of down time where we could not swim!! We had a couple problems with the pool light and also the filter lines and Keith did not stop until these were both fixed! He goes above and beyond any pool service I have ever had!!! keith is a nut case!!!! We paid him 350 up front. To clean the filter, vacuum, and maintain the pool for 6 weeks. The first cleaning was nice. Then I come back from taking care of my Mom and there is dirt and the pool is green. I simply let him know and he went crazy!!!! I have cameras. He was here a total of three times. Never took apart and cleaned the filter. He is making a fool of himself on Facebook. Has pictures of my pool and talking about me and insulting my friends on Facebook. He lasted less than an entire month. He was unpredictable and unreliable. Tried to get me to pay for an entire years of service in advance which suggests issues. When he was here he was great. I have had a pool since 1997 and have had four or five different pool cleaning service companies during that time. The Pool Police are by far the best one I have had. Keith, the owner, cleans my pool every week like clock work and has been doing so for a couple of few years now. He has even provided items like chlorine floaters and skimmer baskets to me at very reasonible prices. My pool is always sparking clean, ready to swim and never over chlorinated. Even though I have never taken advantage of it, Keith always reminds me that he is available to come clean the pool between weekly visits if necessary. His commitment to ensuring our pool is clean shows in his work. And his rates are extremely good! The company I canned to hire Kieth charged me more for both service and chemicals. I only have to enjoy my pool and Keith takes care of the rest. read more

Repost of my review with the owner's name removed: I think the owner is a cool guy, but his priorities are definitely not in Pool Police. From what I understand, he has a record label and I think that's where his heart lies. When the owner started he was great. Kept our pool shinny. Everything was great, but slowly his service went south until a week ago when I returned from a month long business trip and our pool was completely green. Gone to the point where it was unsalvageable and had to be drained and bleached. As I inspected the pool, I found that the Chlorinator had no chlorine and neither did any of the other dispensers. There where two chlorine tablets in one floating dispenser. That's two tablets for 22,000 gallons of water in 100+ degree weather. Further inspection revealed that one of the pump's catch basket was full and clogged and that the main filter had no D.E. filtering compound in it. I honestly have no words for this. the owner had been prepaid, but he refused to refund our money. As the other reviewers mentioned, his communications where via text, they became snippy and unprofessional. Rather than deal with it, I decided to treat my $160 as lost money and proceeded to deal with my pool on my own. In two days it was back to perfect. I honestly wich the owner the best on his music career and hope that he pull the plug on Pool Police. He obviously no longer wants to do this type of work. EDIT: Decided to post this communication thread in response to owner comment. The following is presented unedited with comments in parenthesis. I expect a refund for June. 9:45 AM The owner Pool Police: you owe me 9:49 AM (Pool Police was prepaid for a month service. Pool was "serviced" twice. Not sure how he figured we owed him.) For some reason, my review for The Pool Police has disappeared, along with about three other similar ones. I wonder how reviews can be removed? Can the person who received the review make a complaint and have it removed? It doesn't make sense because if I would have seen reviews like mine and the others that disappeared, we would have never hired Keith for the job. I'm cutting and pasting this from a review I submitted in July that mysteriously disappeared. We hired Keith last August and prepaid in advance for the entire year for weekly pool cleaning and expressed our concern about the possibility of him burning out and not finishing the year. With a promise, a handshake, and written document, he enthusiastically gave his word that he would not let us down. We had hope that we could trust him. Fast forward through the relatively easier winter months and springtime, to now, the critical time of year in the summer when pool care work is the hardest, and what do we have? A swamp, a gross green pool that has been neglected and forgotten. In addition, a very large turtle has made its home in our algae-filled swimming pool. We've been out of town a lot and had no idea that he had been ignoring our pool to that extent. He then told us that our pool, which was less than 3 years old, needed a new filter for $1,700 for a brand OTHER than our existing Hayward equipment, and if we wanted Hayward, he would have to get us another price. He talked about how much it was costing him in chlorine to keep up with our pool and he couldn't afford it. (How is it that we can pay $80 to $100 for the entire year for chlorine ourselves, when he said it cost him at least that every month, during the springtime, no less?) I called our pool builder, Cody Pools, if that seemed valid to have a new filter on a relatively new pool. They asked WHY would we need a new filter, considering our pool was like new. They said that filters practically never need to be replaced and that our pool guy had not been doing his job. They sent another company out to assess the damage, since we were still under warranty by a few days. Aqua-Logistics looked at our pool and said it was so bad, that the entire pool needed to be drained, acid washed, then refilled with new water. That cost $800 and was not included in the warranty due to the fact that the pool hadn't been properly maintained, and by then the warranty had expired. They did replace a valve for us under warranty. Then on top of the pool draining and acid washing, since the pool wasn't getting cleaned while we thought it was, the sand for the filter was really low and dirty, and also had to be replaced, which was an additional $300. The poor turtle was released into the woods behind our house and our pool looks beautiful once again, thankfully, after we hired a new company. Like the previous reviews, Keith did an okay job when he actually did it. I just feel bad that he did not keep his word by showing up weekly and tried to get by with running our filter 24 hours a day, year round, and taking advantage of our frequent traveling schedule. I'm very disappointed in Keith's lack of integrity and wish I could give him a good recommendation, but I cannot. read more

It's always swim ready and if we're having an event/big party, he comes by to make every thing look perfect. We contacted Keith about 15 months ago when our pool looked really bad. He spent literally hours servicing it and cleaning the filters by hand and in 24-48 hours, the water was clear blue! I must add that I was unable to get anyone else to answer my calls or see me within any reasonable amount of time. Since then, he's been great, reliable, and is available same day if needed. His prices are the most competetive I've had with any pool service. He has also purchased good quality accessory items for the pool at reasonable prices saving me the time of having to shop for these things and then get something that doesn't work out right. He's always been available to respond in between regular visits. Last year, when it was very diffficult to keep the chlorine levels intact due to the heat/sun, Keith worked very hard to keep our pool looking beautiful. I've seen him scrubbing the sides, cleaning the bottom, checking the filters, and truly doing a full service on each visit.
