I have used them in the past and their people and service was great. I tried to contact them over the phone and email and received an email in response the next morning stating they were not available for a week. Eleven (11) attempts to reach a person on the phone all went to Voicemail. Last email was answered as "not available"... I understand companies are busy however lack of customer service and responsiveness is not acceptable. I hope you read this and correct whatever issues you have in order to service your customers better in the future. I will not be one of them! read more

I have 2 homes and I really needed these people to be my eyes and ears my pool when I'm not here and to do their job while I'm at my other home for months at a time. Joke of a pool service offered. Word of advice. Never use a pool service company if it's not the actual owner cleaning the pool every week! I'm sure they have good workers but the guys who came by my place did not care. The workers take advantage of company and they turn complacent and the owner is depended on them showing up so they can collect your money even if they do the work or not. Paid over $270 month for the MOST BASIC service possible from O'neill's Pools. NO CHEMICALS with services. Workers really didn't care about their jobs, they just wanted their paycheck at end of week. Their service was basic of basic cleaning of pool 2 times a month and the other 2 times ONLY checked water with their little paper strips. If it's raining, no show that week, if it's a holiday during that week, no show that week, if it's too hot or cold, no show that week but you still pay full price. I have cameras on my property and workers would come in front gate of my 10 arce property and I can clock the time they spend at my house and the max would be 15 min and the average (90% of the time) was 8 minutes. That's from my front gate entering and leaving time. Still had to get out of the truck and get their gear and get organized during this time period. Basically 4 to 5 minutes of POOL CLEANING work. I have a new person now, only $175.00 a month with cleaning once a week and he's here 30 - 45 min everytime. I'm always thinking about O'neills Pool service and how bad it was for what I'm getting now. Finally had to release them when I went on vacation for long period of time and came back to pool 2 FEET OF WATER BELOW WHAT IS WAS SUPOSE TO BE. I have photos for proof. There was a slow leak in my pool (My problem not theirs) and nobody thought of telling me. 5 months I was gone and no call. Pump was running without water. I talked to owner about what happened and his workers and he had a F&%$ing melt down on the phone with me because I wouldn't pay. Was stunned listening to him screaming at me for the complacency of his entire operating he's running. Save your money. Once you find a good pool service you will be happy. I have used this company for years with satisfactory results. Recently, however, they have raised their prices by a huge 43% claiming that chemicals (which they provided in their old service price) account for the necessity to raise their prices by itemizing chemical usage on their invoice. Until Amy and Oneil fix the mess we are in, this review will stay. So many broken promises... So many mistakes on their part... easy opportunity to make things right. Before I go into the many details on the chain of events, as stated, I will give them the opportunity to fix it. But simply telling me "we're not going to/or willing to make you happy Glenn, so we're refunding your deposit and cutting our relationship." BEWARE OF THE RISKS BEFORE YOU CHOOSE THIS COMPANY!" Very sadden that 4 months later, I have destroyed electrical, that they agreed to fix, and now after the repair is in process with an outside contractor, I'm told I'm not getting a hot tub because they're choosing to not sell it to me anymore. Even though I gave them a $2300 deposit back in July? Sure, I'll take your money, only to give it back for a higher profit? I have never witnessed this business practice in my life. It's unfortunate that I have to even give one star. As you can see by my invoice, they threw in several "INCLUDED" items with my sale. This purchase was in July, when the "hot tub shortage of 2020" was really unknown. It doesn't take a genius to figure this one out... Why pay for a mistake that you created, when you can sell it for a higher profit to someone else? Amy and Oneil, do the right thing! This is not the way you treat human beings. It's clear they have happy customers, so I'm clueless to your decision??? "Buy low, sell high" is the mantra of the stock market. Apparently the same goes for the O'Neill's. O'Neill's has serviced my pool and hot tub for two months now. I could not be more pleased. For the first time in 9 years my pool is crystal clear, actually sparkles. My hot tub is 6 months old and they are far more effective at keeping it healthy. I'm never leery of a good long soak since these guys are in control. They say they will be here Thursday mornings and have not been even a minute late. I can call or email with a question and receive immediate assistance. I had a good experience with them last year, but this year's service was completely opposite. I reached out to them multiple times via phone and email with limited response and obvious apathy. Cohen did a great job for us last year and did not charge an outrageous price. This past April, I called the service line and left multiple voicemails to have someone contact me to schedule an appointment for an annual pool cleaning. About a week later, a guy showed up in our back yard, unannounced, and scared my wife at home alone. He completed the service in 2 trips by cleaning the filter and replacing some grids, totaling $274. I paid this invoice, then about a week later noticed multiple issues I had not seen in the filter before Greg came out to service, including a leaky filter. I contacted him to follow up and he said he would come out and fix it no problem, and made it sound like there would not be a charge for this. About a month after his visit, I received an invoice for $70 that he had charged to replace a $5 part that was not broken before he came out initially. Not only is this charge outrageous, but the issue is STILL NOT FIXED. He left a mess around the filter, it still leaks and the filter stopped working smoothly a few weeks later. I have to backwash it every weekend now because it gets clogged, which leads me to believe he did not do a proper job. Now, I had to pay them $350 for their half-ass work and hire a new pool cleaning company to come out and redo the filter cleaning. After all of this, they just kept sending me invoices in the mail and wouldn't return any calls, just kept adding late fees. I made multiple attempts to stop in to the store but the owner and manager is never there to help, just a young clerk who told me to "call the manager" I want to like this business, but their lack of customer service and attention shows me they don't care much either way. read more

This pool service was hired by our home warranty company. They never called us to set up a time to diagnose the problem with our pool pump. One day while we were gone they just showed up, went on our property and then submitted a report to the warranty company. The only contact we ever had with them was their sending us a bill. Horrible! Killed our Koi in the pond by throwing chlorine in it. Is not able to handle automatic payment (threw away mailed checks). Does not respond to requests to call back. Not able to keep set-up schedule. Owner came to the door with wrong accusations and used foul language. Never want to deal with this person again. Use extreme caution- worst customer service ever. My pump was hit by lighting in early July and after 4 call to O'neill's office I finally received a call back . Well that should have been a sign not to rely on them for the repairs , but here we are 3 weeks later and the pump has not been touched. During this 3 week delay they continued to do and bill me the weekly service on a broke pool. When I spoke with the owner finally today his response was---( Tom I apologize about the lack of communication on my end! Your pump drive is out and it is cheaper to replace the entire pump than the drive. We can get the pump right away from one of our Austin suppliers and if we need to make another trip to get the pool cleaned up it's on me. Thank you Neil) so now that summer is winding down and the kids go back to school in a week I will find a trust worthy company to take my yearly business to and get my pool swimming again. So my husband and I was hesitant about turning to this pool company when I used to receive service from another pool company called Sure Pools but O' Neill's bought Sure Pools so now a variety of new pool cleaners clean my pool but we are not disappointed to say the least. The bosses dont seem so friendly or on top of their services, very disorganized and wishy washy but the pool cleaner does a great job at actually cleaning the pool so I guess thats all that really matters! I highly recommend my pool cleaner ! I will ask my husband what his name is because I forgot! I have used Oneill's pools for servicing pool at rental property and I have had complaints now from 2 different renters. Talked to owner few times and he tried to see about making things right. Several reports of Pool tech spending 5 minutes on pool and leaving. Today it was 5 minutes on pool and 10 minutes on phone in car before leaving. I think they advertise $40 for 30 minutes, looking back I feel like I have been cheated. Two different renters reporting the same thing. read more

Zero stars is for certain. New owners Neil and Amy Englemann do not make good on mistakes they make. My filter blew up when their people failed to get the two parts fastened together properly draining 30,000 gallons of water and damaging other pool parts. They have failed to even view the damage and left me to fix it all including new filter, pump, Jandy valve, skimmer, salt system and pool sweep motor. Looks like a lawsuit will result but fortunately I have a good contractor who is willing to testify. The pump was under warranty but they had to ship one on Friday it was suppose to be overnight through UPS, but did not get into Austin today Tuesday after 11:00. I had been to so many different stores for product and advice but I have decided to stay with O'neils. They are a small privately owned pool store and service company and they provide the best customer service. When I first had my pool installed I had a lot to learn. Going to O'neils was awesome because they taught me about the chems that I needed. They made sure I didnt spend money on items that I didn't need. Bill who is there 3 days out of the week is knowledgeable, patient, and very customer service oriented. And of course O'neils wouldn't be the same without its mascot "LUCY" to greet you. Its great to spend time with her while Bill tests your water samples. As for Jack, well there was a week when I was on vacation and my house/dog sitter told texted me to tell me that the pool was turning bright green. So, even though I had not used O'neils as a pool service I called them for advice. Jack told me not to worry, took my address and took care of my pool at no extra cost. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home to a beautiful blue pool. :) I think Jack takes on more than he should. Since he was the owner all these years I think he's one of those people that has a hard time delegating. Wanting to make sure things get done right he sreads himself too thin. I love this company. Small but personable. Caring for each customers individual needs. Not pushing product like other faceless chain stores in the area. I recommend them to anyone I know needing pool help.
