First, let me cut to the chase, I highly recommend Capital Custom Pools and Shane, the General Manager! This is my first pool, so I came into this pretty uneducated and Shane was very patient with me during the entire project, explaining the process and what to expect. He is an extremely experienced pool builder and beyond professional and responsive. He makes you feel like you're the only customer he has and follows through even after the pool build is finished. If you want a high-quality gorgeous pool, you must hire this company. Builder Selection Shane and his staff were extremely patient as I tried to align the very differing proposals, breaking costs down as I requested. His proposal was easy to understand and was straightforward, not hiding costs in various categories as most of the other builders did. I felt I got a very fair estimate. While their proposal was not the lowest, I chose them because I felt very comfortable with Shane, his knowledge and he's just an overall really nice guy. Another reason I chose them was because he was the only builder to submit the design to our HOA without my even asking! He kept me informed as the process with them progressed. Design I already had a pool design done by another builder but wanted to get estimates from other builders. I called five and Shane was the first to to respond. We met that week and I was very impressed by his professionalism. He looked at our design, asked really good questions about the pool and how we thought we would use it. He also made some suggestions that had to do with the actual usability of the pool. He took the paper based plans and some screen shots and recreated the design using his own pool design software. We had several design meetings either at his office or at my home. He patiently tweaked the details as well as the bigger things until we were satisfied with the design and the materials. Build Shane managed this project like clockwork and the only time the progress slowed down was due to weather. He kept me informed of who was coming when and what was expected to be accomplished in that given time. His contractors were very skilled, polite and was respectful of our property. The project wasn't trouble free by any means but at each step, Shane oversaw the work being done, making changes either at my request or because he wasn't satisfied. None of which were charged to us. Shane and his staff were so responsive to all of my questions, concerns and me calling him and telling him that one of the pool walls wasn't being done to design, he stopped the work and redid it to design. There's so much more to write but that would make this review too long to want to read. Our pool is amazing and we're extremely happy with the result. Also I didn't feel that once the pool was finished Shane would disappear. In fact, he's still very responsive when we have a question or trouble with the equipment. I would highly recommend Capital! Our experience with Cascade was professional and went above and beyond out expectations during the entire process, including pool maintenance support after the project is done! Shane worked with our wishlist, budget, and backyard to come up with a custom design that was more than we dreamed of. We got estimates from other companies, but the designs were generic and did not fit our yard and house the way Shane's did. Shane had great ideas and concepts that he worked with to create a perfect design. We started wanting a pool only, and by the end we had a beautiful covered patio that extends our outdoor living space into the pool decking. The construction process was just as smooth as the design. Communication with Shane was always prompt, thorough, and professional. He returned every call within less than an hour, and answered all of my many questions. He kept us in the loop on every step, and let us know what workers would be at the house and when. There were a few minor issues/changes during construction and Shane was helpful in fixing the situation. The solutions we agreed on were even better than the original design! At the end of the process, we were very happy that we went with Cascade. We are constantly stopped by our neighbors to compliment us on the beautiful new addition. The construction process went as smoothly as possible and we ended up with an amazing finished project that my husband and I enjoy every night. Cascade Pools will build you a badass pool!!! In fact, I'll put them up against any pool company that you can find in the greater Austin area! They're a family-owned company that has been in business for over 30 years. Don't be fooled by the term "family-owned," they often have 10-15 pools being built at any one time. Hank is the owner, his son TJ is a Sr Manager, his wife runs the office, Jason is a General Manager, they have on-site supervisors, and their master mason, Carlos, is one of the best in the area! They're awesome! Side note: I'm one of the biggest, knit-picky, pain in the ass customers out there, but these guys rolled with the punches, and never said anything other than, "Yes sir, we'll make it happen!" I never once worried about them delivering a high quality pool or that they wouldn't come back and correct something that I didn't prefer. I don't mean that anything was broken, I mean, I may have not liked the color of one flagstone on my decking. They built our pool and outdoor kitchen last summer ('13) and did an outstanding job! Unlike some pool companies, Cascade will build a true custom pool that you design (not pick from these three standard designs), and they're willing to make reasonable changes for you well into the project if they can, without any additional charges. They're not the cheapest, but they are absolutely the best! read more

J. was able to work around every constraint, from not removing any of the oak trees to supporting easy in/easy out for both the young and the elderly. The crews that came onto my property were nice, hard working, no nonsense kind of guys that kept the construction area much cleaner than we expected. When I was undecided on tile selection and decking options, the advice I received was perfect! I absolutely love, love, love the tile and plaster combo "we" chose! Cascade does a great job being professional and doesn't try to upsell you on pointless features your pool wouldn't need. TJ creates ideas and has the ability to incorporate your lifestyle into his design work and was extremely impressive. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to build their swimming pool. After meeting with several pool builders and getting several quotes, my husband and I decided to go with Capital Custom Pools (Austin). Shane Pike, General Manager, met with us several times to review and refine our pool designs even before we signed a contract. The other companies were slow to get back with us and got frustrated because we didn't make a decision on the spot. Shane did not. He understands that a pool is a huge investment and his main goal is for his customers to love their pool and for the process to go as smoothly as possible. He was very candid with us about what features he thought we needed or (more importantly) didn't need, and he was patient through the process as we made changes. Aside from the most important factor in working with a pool builder, which is having a beautiful well-functioning pool at the end of the process, we greatly appreciated the fact that Shane made himself available to us from beginning to end and beyond. This is our second pool build and I can say from experience that this is not usually the case. We were happy with the end result of our first pool (built in another state), but the process was extremely stressful because it generally took days for our builder to get back with us. Shane always got back to us right away, often in less than an hour. No matter how big or small the question or issue, he took everything seriously and dealt with things personally and quickly. Overall, we love our pool and the experience building it was very low stress. Any type of building project will have some element of stress, but Shane does his best to keep it to a minimum.
