Chris and his team at Watermark Pros were simply amazing. I chose to work with Watermark Pros because of the perfect Yelp rating. I wanted a "no hassle" experience and that's exactly what I got. I worked initially with Chis through email and pictures in May. I was not in a hurry and wanted the pool available most of the summer. We narrowed down some ballpark pricing first, then a firm price in June. Chris was extremely patient, flexible and helpful throughout the entire time. In late July I contacted Chris and asked if he could start on Aug 17 and he agreed. His first crew removed the old plaster to the concrete, then applied new a layer of new concrete . Day 2 also included a tile cleaning and treatment that made the 2 rows of tile look new. Next they split the old single drain into two for improved safety. Exposed and corrected a few rust spots. On the 7th day (delayed 1 day for rain) a crew showed up with the plaster truck. It was amazing to watch. It dried, then acid washed, then 24 hours to fill. The pool was maintained for the first 5 days thru Chris and ready to swim by Labor Day weekend. Work was continuous except for 1 day rain delay. Chis would always stop by to check progress and on his crews, and do inspections. He'd text when he was on his way so I could talk to him if I needed. Yelp, I need more stars for this amazing company. I purchased my home in 2010 and it had these weird stains on the spa, above the water line. Add nine more years of hard water and I was at my wit's end. As one does, I took to YouTube for home remedies... I tried them all, and they all failed. In sad desperation, I contacted my "pool therapist" Nathan at Patriot Pools (also five stars) and he recommended Watermark Pros. Chris, the owner, came over and admittedly looked a little nervous when he saw my scale buildup and the weird stuff on the spa. A couple of days later I had a quote that seemed very fair. Fast forward to today and the crew arrived promptly and got to work. Miracle of miracles my pool looks new, as I imagined it did in 2004 when it was installed, and the tile has been sealed which should slow down the ongoing revenge of our hard water. Chris and his team are beyond excellent. My tip if you are doing this in the winter is warm up the pool, even in waders this is not a fun experience when the water is 60 degrees. Once the plastering was complete, he had a group of pool technicians ready to go to make sure the startup of the pool went smoothly. Every phase of the project came out perfect. Any issues that popped up were immediately handled by Chris and his team. Perhaps my project is rare in that we never hit any major snags and never fell behind. Chris at Watermark Pros was selected to remove calcium deposits from our 5+ year old pool tile. We got two other proposals and selected Watermark because they had the most experience (14 years), were able to schedule the project the soonest, and were the most affordable. His team of three techs arrived around 9AM and were finished cleaning up about noon. They were obviously well trained and Casey explained the process from the start to finish of the work. Chris was patient and answered all my questions with explanations and recommendations. He gave me options on whether or not to have the waterline tiled replaced. And options on the new pool surface (plaster vs quartz vs pebble) and the costs of each. He told me how long each step would take and what step was next as the job went along. I had some customized tiles cut for the waterline tile and the part that was cutout was used as marker tile in the floor. He had never done that before and checked with his tile guy to make sure it was possible before the work started. Mario, his tile guy, did a fantastic job setting the tiles so that the cutout pieces came out great as marker tiles. The tile and plaster work done was OUTSTANDING ! He was very quick to reply to all my many emails. This morning my regular pool service guy came by to start the "new pool startup" work that is required. He made a point of telling me how great a job was done and told me that he normally finds spots and streaks in the work, but found NONE in my pool. Our recently remodeled pool deck tiles were already cracking and the mastic shrinking between the coping and the deck. I was having difficulty finding somebody even to look at the issues until Chris and his team came over and took on the job. When I moved to Austin in May 2014, the pool at my house needed a lot of repair and renovation. Watermark Pros were recommended for the tile and stone cleaning around the pool. They also "biocleaned" the coping stones we weren't replacing, and then sealed everything once the replaster and repairs were finished. My pool is about 6 years old. Given the hard water, there was a lot of unsightly calcium build-up on the walls and stone. I initially tried to clean it up myself, but quickly knew I was in over my head. I called Chris from Watermark Pros about 2 months ago. He came out and gave me a quote and explained what would be done. This past week, his team came out to my house. They arrived around 8:30am and finished around 1:30pm. Chris even stopped by and took some pictures and chatted with me about the process. The guys did a terrific job and the pool looks great. They told me to leave the pool filter and vacuum running and call back if there was any particulate on the floor once it settled. His product knowledge was a big help to us in selecting materials, colors, finishes, steps and procedures that would follow, etc. He prepared and re-plastered our 20+ year old white plaster pool with Wet Edge Luna Quartz finish in Bermuda blue color. He replaced our very dated brown tile with Taormina blue/brown wall tile. It is beautiful. Mario, his tile man, is truly an artist. Watermark Pros is Chris Papes. He is the owner and is personally involved, as in on-site, for every step of the process. He has an outstanding crew that know what they are doing. We bought our house February 2017 and the pool was in bad shape. The previous owner, instead of plastering it, had taken the cheap way out and painted it. The water was cloudy with dissolving paint, and there was no circulation. It wasn't appealing to swim in. I interviewed several pool resurfacers, and Chris stood out. He told me exactly what was wrong with the pool, gave me several price options depending on how much I wanted to spend, and was very professional and easy going. It was a Gary pool built probably 30 years ago. Gary pools of that era were structurally solid, but they had poor circulation. I chose the option where he unclogged the bottom drain and put in another drain 3 feet away from it. A law says you have to do this to all new pools now because a child got caught by the suction on a single drain and the suction was so strong her parents couldn't pull her off of it. Having two bottom drains 3 feet apart solves this problem. He cleaned out out the Polaris pipe, the skimmer pipe, the two existing returns, and added two returns on the far side of the pool. He also added another check valve to the plumbing which keeps the water in the pipe after the pool pump is It turned off, so that the pump starts faster and works less at getting it started. This was a LOT of old plumbing repaired and new plumbing installed. It turned out beautifully. Perfect plastering. And the circulation is like a dream: four separate returns and if I turn the nozzles facing up it looks like a circulating spa. Having never owned a pool before, I had a lot of questions, and Chris answered all my questions (some of them he answered several times because I was not a quick learner) very patiently and professionally. When I thought there was a problem, he would be here quickly. And he worked with Pristine Pools (another business I recommend) on the bring up. It has been almost 8 months and I have not found a real problem yet. If I do, I am confident that Chris will come out, explain it to me, and fix it. If you want your pool to be beautiful and to have great circulation, which keeps the water clean and fresh, Chris is your guy. read more
