Celebrated a birthday here. Susan our wait staff was great. Service overall was great, except they forgot to give us our leftover takeout box. We ordered their classic garlic pepper crab, garlic noodles (plain), kungpao eggplant, and fried calamari. Everything was tasty, except for the eggplant dish, which was over-caramelized. The texture was weird, and there was no kungpao flavor whatsoever. It tasted like candied eggplants. For dessert, we had the baked alaska. It was beautiful, nice presentation. It was super rich but if you've never had one before it may be an opportunity to try one for yourself. For cocktails, we ordered a Strawberry Field. It didn't taste anything like strawberry although it was beautiful. The beer selection was rather pedestrian. They had Sapporo, Budweiser, and a bunch of other options similar to the ones you can find at your local gas-station. lol read more

It makes me sad to give this restaurant 3-stars because it has so many positives! The ambience is amazing! It's the type of place you can easily spend a couple of happy hours. The cocktail menu was fantastic. I had the Saigon 75 and I would order it again! For food, I did the filet mignon shaking beef and Ferry Building Farmers Market vegetables. My dishes tasted very good but both were very sweet. Especially for the shaking beef, had the sauce not been so sweet, the flavor was really good. Note that I ordered this without the potatoes. The other thing I noticed was regarding the vegetables the green beans, sugar peas, and mushrooms were really tasty (though in a sauce that was too sweet), there were many green beans that were not fresh. We went to see the Odyssey at the Metreon, so we chose to go to Crustacean for dinner since it's nearby. We lucked out and got a parking spot right outside. Went in, and got seated promptly even though we came earlier than our reservation time. Zach our server explained the menu thoroughly the let us have time to peruse the menu. He was so professional, friendly and very on point. We ordered the shrimp and lobster dumplings, the caviar and langoustine rolls, and the langoustine toasts. All soo delicate and flavorful. Then we had the shaking beef, the house Dungeness crab, the seafood fried rice and the garlic noodles. Everything tasted awesome and presentation was great. For desserts we ordered the fried banana with vanilla ice cream, the baked Alaska ( was too sweet and too frozen for us, we could barely cut into it ) and custard ( chè ) which was served with ice cream (?) ... the last 2 desserts were disappointing. An's Famous Garlic Roasted Dungeness Crab remains the star of the show and, in my opinion, is still the best crab dish in the Bay Area. My partner and I were excited to try the famed Crustacean for a dinner date. We arrived at 5 PM, and were seated at a semiprivate, large table for two. The interior was stunning. We started off with the hamachi crudo, calamari, and shrimp and lobster dumplings. The calamari was our favorite and the other two apps were strong. For the main course, we opted for the garlic crab, garlic noodles and the kung pap eggplant. The garlic Noodles and crab were delicious, but the eggplant stole the show. He was judging us the moment we walked in, looking at us up and down. We might've not been dressed to his standard, policy says strict chic dress code but nothing about refusing service if it wasn't adhered to. But what if the way we dressed was chic to us? Whether you're ordering the dumplings, garlic noodles, or crab, all the dishes are made with attention to detail and taste good. The Bo Kho dumplings were beautifully presented and tasted like Bo Kho. Probably my favorite thing I ate during the night! However, both Bo Kho and dumplings individually are not expensive items. So to put a $25 price tag for only 4 dumplings, it definitely feels a bit hard to justify getting it again for the price. That theme felt pretty much the same throughout the night. All of the dishes were decent and were presented nicely, but nothing I tasted made me go "wow, I need more of this". Crab was fresh, but nothing amazing was done to it that a fresh crab from another restaurant could not emulate. Service was attentive for the most part, and the ambiance of the restaurant is top notch. Don't think I'd come back again for a while personally. I came here for dinner with my friend and had a great experience overall. We shared the following dishes: AN's Famous Garlic Roasted Dungeness Crab (MP - which, for us, was $88 - plus an additional $10 to have it served out of the shell), AN's Famous Garlic Noodles ($16), Truffle Hamachi ($24), and Signature Crab Puffs ($18). We also ordered a few drinks (I tried the Jackfruit Punch and the Strawberry Fields; $18 each). The Truffle Hamachi was good but not particularly unique, and the Signature Crab Puffs were my least favorite (they tasted like crab rangoons, which I'm not a fan of). Let's discuss Crustacean's. First of all, let me start off by saying that I have frequented Crustacean's for over 20 years, and have never had a subpar experience. They have been my family's go-to restaurant for many of our celebratory events, and we love their food and service. With that said, I am very aware that businesses need to evolve and make augments to the way that things have always been done; however, the hubs and I frequented Crustacean's recently at their new location, and I must say that we were substantially underwhelmed. Although they had a new fancy establishment, something was lost in translation. There was something about the nostalgia of the older building. Yes, it certainly needed work, but the food was always great. As for our recent visit, the food was not as good, nor was the service, and the ambiance totally lacked the family feeling that once brought so much warmth and comfort. I was excited to try the famous crab garlic noodles at Crustacean after hearing the hype around the original Thanh Long and stopped by this Fidi location for a nice lunch with a friend. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the ambiance really made it feel like an elevated lunch location. Between the 2 of us we got the Roasted Dungeness Crab with garlic noodles on the side and the Chrysanthemum Gem salad to share. First starting off with the salad, it was a solid caesar salad and the large pieces of rice crackers on top were fun to break apart and eat with the salad itself. The star of course was suppose to be the crab cracked out of shell and the famous garlic noodles. I really wanted to love this but I actually thought it lacked flavor and while the crab was coated with garlic butter, it was dry in some parts and the garlic didn't shine. Same with the noodles which were on the heavier side with garlic butter but felt kind of gummy to me. I really wanted to enjoy this more but the combo just felt like too much without providing enough flavor and for the price there are better Asian restaurants in the city which serve fresh crab. From the first bite to the last sip, the food here is truly chef's kiss. And the drinks? They're not just cocktails--they're edible art. One of the managers shared something special with us: a sample of macerated kumquat peel that he personally prepares by hand. He peels the fruit himself to extract the juice, which becomes part of a unique specialty cocktail created for Lunar New Year 2026. It felt like getting a behind-the-scenes taste of the craft. The drink itself was incredibly refreshing--almost light enough to feel borderline healthy. We started with green mussels served on slightly toasted sourdough rounds that tasted as though they'd been lovingly dipped in butter. Absolutely delicious. The calamari was decent--though I'm notoriously picky about calamari. The batter was wonderfully crunchy, but the meat leaned a little rubbery for my taste. The chicken rolls had one of the best fillings I've ever had--savory, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The only thing I wished for was a bit more crunch in the wrapper; I love a crispy roll and this one was slightly on the softer side. Ironically, I arrived not very hungry. But by the time we were leaving, the woman dining near us was devouring her dish with such enthusiasm that we had to ask what it was. It turned out to be Dungeness crab with glass noodles in a delicate soy, ginger, garlic, and green onion marinade. We tried it--and wow. Absolutely delicious. A solid 10/10. The new Crustacean location is absolutely gorgeous! We dined on the classic Roasted Dungeness Crab and Garlic Noodles, both are must haves! Long time SF favorite crab house at the new location and an upscale flare. Same.food but elevated experience right in Financial District. Don't expect traditional Vietnamese style cooking, as it is fusion with California style. Great bar even just to stop in for drinks. Cocktails are delish and the vibe is posh. I've been coming to Crustacean since I was about 8 years old, and it never disappoints. This visit was just as amazing as I remembered. The Wagyu fried rice was absolutely delicious, and the pineapple was such a perfect addition, it added a subtle sweetness that made the dish even better. Ann's famous garlic noodles are a must-order every single time and somehow are still just as good as I remember. We also enjoyed a lychee martini and an espresso martini, and you really can't go wrong with either. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all incredible. It's one of those special places that keeps you coming back year after year, and I'm already craving the garlic noodles and fried rice again! read more

Used to go to the previous location for birthdays, etc. so I had to come check out the revamp! Was not disappointed! The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL! Very well decorated and the ambiance is perfect! Great for groups or even if you want to come solo. They have a bar area that is super nice. I made reservations but did come alone for this time around so I was seated at a table. They added new things to the menu, but since this was my first time coming back since they opened up the "new" restaurant, I wanted to try my usual staples to see if anything has changed. I ordered the mussels, the garlic noodles and the roasted crab (as is). I did see an option where they crack it for you now, but I'm an OG and like to do that on my own. But for those that prefer not to get down and dirty, don't worry. They will do it for you now . Dishes were just as delicious as I remember. No notes! I could've swore the mussels came more to a platter but that could've just been me wanting more of it. I ate all of it there! lol Garlic noodles and crab are a big service (more for sharing), so I took what I couldn't finish to go. I ordered two cocktails (both the same-the Teremana Reposado) which was fruity, refreshing and just how I like it (strong) as well as a glass of champagne (greedy, I know lol). The servers were amazing. Very attentive and friendly. I got lucky and even sat next to super friendly and sweet guests. Super relieved and happy that not much has changed other than them upgrading the restaurant itself. One thing I do want to mention is parking is kind of tricky. I got lucky and found parking around the corner, but my reservation was right when they stopped charging so, just double check the time and space before you park. Other than that, I Love Crustaceans! Decided to take my sister here for her birthday. The inside of the restaurant is pretty big with modern decorations. The service was pretty good, our waitress was friendly. Here's what we ordered. Bo Kho Wagyu Dumplings: Get it, it's packed with flavors and tasted so good. Shrimp & lobster dumplings: This was so-so it didn't really stand out, didn't taste much of the lobster. Felt like I was eating a normal hargow. Salt & Pepper Calamari: Fried to perfection, salt and pepper taste was definitely there. Would get it again. An's Famous Garlic Roasted Crab: Yum, big juicy crab meat in every piece and it was about 2 pounds. An's Famous Garlic Noodles w/ Prawn: Garlic noodles weren't that garlicky, prawn was just okay. Kind of bland. A5 Wagyu Fried Rice: You see I always order fried rice as a filler item in case people are still hungry, this wasn't anything special. Nothing bad or impressive. Went here for a team dinner and it did not disappoint. I loved the Vietnamese fusion across their menu like the Bo kho dumplings (which were amazing) and the banh mi pho dip. What a beautiful afternoon in San Francisco getting to try the reopened Crustacean on Pine Street. I actually didn't know the history of the Chef and some of their historic dishes like the fried banana dessert (check out their website!) The space is incredibly beautiful and oh so spacious. FYI make a reservation and to note, there is a business chic attire suggestion. There are two reservation times (lunch from 11:30a-2:30p and dinner from 5-9pm). We slide through for lunch and ordered quite an array: the Ribeye 'Banh Mi' Pho Dip, Bo Kho'' Wagyu & Bone Marrow Dumplings, Steamed Shrimp & Lobster Dumplings, the AN's Famous Garlic Noodles, Vegetable Medley, and Seafood Fried Rice. Such a beautifully abundant spread! Wowee, my favorite bite (shared with others) was the Ribeye ''Banh Mi" Pho Dip ~ tasted in the most comforting way like an elevated and thoughtful approach to a chopped cheese. Also, those bone marrow dumplings, yum yum yum! The noodles were delish and the sauce with the veggie medley, divine. If you're not getting the AN's Famous Garlic Roasted Dungeness Crab at market price (saw lotsa guests with their seafood bibs on), then try one of their fresh crab dishes ~ from crab cakes, crab puffs, and crab vermicelli too. To note, those amazing Tuna Cigars you may see on the Gram' are only served during dinner service. There are several other dishes on the dinner menu that look amazing. Also!
