I'm here to review their tea service at lunchtime and it was in the Alexander steakhouse. I would say that out of all the tea parties that I've been to and they're well over 50. I'm sure, this was the best one I've ever been to for one thing, they served coffee and that just thrills me because I don't like tea. The ambience was so lovely with the fireplace in the steakhouse vibe. They had the goodies on three tears, and it was such a unique shaped tea serving platter. The service was impeccable. Everything tasted so good especially the baked scones. Everything was absolutely beautiful. We had a lovely time and I think it was only like $65 so it wasn't even that expensive highly recommend going for the tea service check out all my pictures.

TL;DR: The Alexander's Steakhouse that I used to know is back. Over the weekend, we had a family dinner at Alexander's steakhouse for a birthday celebration. Our group included aging parents and children who only like steak + bread + fries. Given our group size (5 adults and 2 children), we ordered some of my favorites as well as trying the specials offered during the evening. The hamachi shot is still as refreshing as I could remember. The hokkaido milk bread is still as soft as I could remember. The heirloom tomato & nectarine salad is a very lovely summer starter to have. The oysters were served with fermented bluberry vinegar - the younger adults at our table liked it while our older parents couldn't get over the fact that they just had raw oyster with blueberry. haha! The grilled octopus got an updated twist. The uni pasta portion looks small for the price but then I remembered the pasta was listed under the starter section, not the entrée section. It's a delicious and beautifully presented uni pasta. My husband said it's the perfect size as a starter but I definitely want more. In terms of the meat, we ordered imperial tomahawk, the Hokkaido ribeye cab (special of the evening), the Australian Wagyu filet, miyazaki wagyu, and also a regular filet mignon. We did it family style so that everyone could try a little bit of everything. The tomahawk is everyone favorite. It's not just packed with flavor, it's so tender that she enjoyed the steak fully even with her denture. Filets usually are the one that seniors can only eat but she end up having 2 big slices of tomahawk. And my wagyu lover father enjoyed the rich ribeye cab very much. The Australian Wagyu is the perfect medium. I highly recommend tomahawk if you are with a large group! For the side dishes, we went with their classic: creamed spinach and their famous truffle fries. The kids finished the entire bowl of fries :P The tomahawk really wowed my parents. However, we were all impressed by the dessert from the evening. Their website somehow doesn't include a dessert menu. So part of me wondered if they still offer a dessert at all... or if they just bring some cakes from the One65 instead.... (or maybe we get lucky and get something from O upstart.. haha!) We tried most of the dessert offerings from the night and they were all delicious and perfectly executed. I think the pastry team from other floors definitely contributed because the tart crust from the parline tart definitely reminded me of the lemon tart we usually get from this building :P The parfait with grand marnier is like their version of baked alaska - the meringue was browned with the grand marnier flambe at the table side. It's definitely a showstopper! The mixed berries was the perfect summer finish if you want something light. The yuzu custard was perfect with the mixed berries sorbet and a beautiful mixed berries sauce. But my favorite is the chocolate dessert (I forgot the name..) but it's this thick decadent chocolate torte - it's a lovely sweet finish for any chocolate lovers! And of course, we can't finish a meal at Alexander's without their signature finish: COTTON CANDY!!! :D it's the pina colada flavor and we managed to finish 2.5 cotton candies out of the 3 given to our group. The lychee and rose chocolate bon bon and the milk nougat were the final sweets we received for the night :D The team took care of us really well. We all had a very pleasant experience at the new location. I visited their Cupertino locations for so many times in the last 15+ years and also their old SF location several times before the COVID. I had date nights, business dinners, friends gatherings, and even girls night out at the Alexander's Steakhouse in the last 15+ years. In my memories, Alexander's Steakhouse has always been this one big high-end steakhouse. So part of me felt like it's the end of an era seeing the SF location moving from the previous location to the small space in Union Square. But I also believe this could be an opportunity for the restaurant to thrive again in the challenging downtown area. Although the new location is small and intimate, we as guests don't have to worry about parking anymore when the O'Farrell parking structure is just next door :) Can't wait for our next visit in the future!

I'm so happy with my return to this steakhouse. Thank you Patrick for the great service and the warm conservations. I was seated quickly and received my cosmo with ease. Tasted great! I ordered the yellowtail sashimi for an appetizer. Although I thought the eggplant overwhelmed the taste of the fish slightly, it was presented well and it was fresh, I also ordered the Shiga Ohmi steak (3 oz). It was cooked to perfection and presented with pickled cucumbers and 2 salts. I loved it! The wines I had were great. The pears/chocolate were difficult to eat. I had to "dig" to find the pears. Everything was clean and I highly recommend this new location.

Stopped by to try their signature wagyu tasting menu. It was a well crafted menu that was very wagyu forward. I really enjoyed the wagyu caviar app. Truly, all is the dishes were excellent, even the desserts. The only thing missing was a bread service. At 185 for A5 wagyu, it's a steal. Service was friendly and well organized. Looking forward to trying other restaurants in the building!

Came to Alexander's for restaurant week and enjoyed the experience! A 4 course meal came to $90 pp but we still felt compelled to add in some extras. We began with the Hokkaido milk bread with three butters. If you're looking for that flavor punch, the black sesame or yuzu butter will really meet that need but if you're seeking that more nuanced elevation, that wagyu butter was...chef's kiss. It had an unctuous beefy quality to it and was remarkably rich. We also shared the wagyu charcuterie platter. We all had our own favorites on the plate so it worked well for the group! For my restaurant week choices, I started with the wagyu rillettes, then the butternut squash soup, the steak frites, and a carrot cake. I liked the uniqueness of the rillettes but my favorite course may have been the butternut squash soup. It was smooth and creamy and I really enjoyed the addition of the roasted pepitas. For the main, I did add in a diver scallop and the bone marrow to my steak. The steak itself was just okay in my opinion. It lacked a crust and was a little light on seasoning (but the fries over compensated on salt). The marrow added a delightful beefy butteriness but the real star was really that scallop. Mine was cooked perfectly! When it came to dessert, I thought my carrot cake was pretty good! All the piped elements were delicious but the cake was just a hair bit dense for me. When it came to service, it was great. Staff was attentive and the sommelier helped us make a great choice for pairing. All in all, glad I tried the OG Alexander's, but if you want my true opinion, I think their "sea" option is far better.

Alexander's Steakhouse is a total win if you're into high end vibes and seriously good steak. The place blends classic steakhouse style with a cool Asian twist, melt in your mouth wagyu, creative sides, and some next-level starters. I was here with my girls to celebrate our birthdays! The service is top notch and the attention to detail really shows. It's definitely a splurge spot, but perfect for date night or when you want to treat yourself. Just come hungry you'll want to try a bit of everything.

I went here for one of my birthday celebrations recently and had a reservation here. It was on a Saturday around 8:30pm and the restaurant didn't seem too busy at that time. Once we got seated, we were quickly given our menu and a warm, moist towel to wipe our hands before ordering. Before the meals started coming, they surprised us with a small shot of Mushroom Consommé drink (it tasted like a mushroom soup). We ended up ordering the Yerba Buena Cocktail, Hokkaido Milk Bread, A5 Wagyu Charcuterie, Truffle Fries, Mashed Potato, Premium Prime 18 Ounce Ribeye, Japanese Miyazaki A5 Wagyu, Flavored Cotton Candy, Pistachio Honey Cake w/ Chocolate Drizzle, Wagyu-Fat Pananccio w/ Salted Caramel & Raspberry Patonbini. The Flavored Cotton Candy, Pistachio Honey Cake w/ Chocolate Drizzle, and Wagyu-Fat Pananccio w/ Salted Caramel & Raspberry Patonbini came in a set because it was part of the birthday dessert. All the food was very good, but some portions were smaller than what I expected. My favorite item from this entire meal was the A5 Wagyu Charcuterie. The variety of wagyu slices ranged from a wagyu with a more smokey flavor to a ham type of flavor. I love unique food items and charcuterie boards, so that was basically like a 2-in-1. The only issue I had were the mashed potatoes since it didn't taste that special. The mashed potatoes was like a thin purée type of texture and I tend to prefer a thicker consistency. I'd recommend this place! They sell a wide variety of items and many of the items includes some type of steak ingredient in it, which I felt it made it unique. The customer service here is very good too and I loved how they explained each item and the ambiance of this restaurant is very classy too. Some portion sizes here are a bit small though.

The side of crispy chicken was good but nothing that stood out to us. The brioche was soft but there wasn't much flavoring besides the fruits and caramelized banana. It was served with evaporated milk which made the brioche soft but not adding much flavor to it. The price however was quite pricey. For two dishes as a side we paid around $78 with tax and tip.

The San Francisco burger scene has caught up, and Nopa's burger has lost its specialness...but that doesn't mean Nopa has. Nopa opened in 2006 inside a converted bank - high ceilings, a massive bar, a communal table, just - awesome vibes. From day one it became an industry restaurant - One of the few spots in the city where you could show up late night, order off a menu that changes daily, and know the food is going to be dialed in. They specialize in wood-fired cooking, which is why their thick cut, brined pork chop with baked beans is so popular - and...it's good, but their fried chicken is quickly becoming their best seller and THAT, was PERFECT. Crispy skin, juicy underneath, seasoned beautifully. But the dish that so perfectly encapsulates what Nopa is...was this salad. Just trout, and whatever was good at the farm that week. That's Nopa. There's indoor seating, and the outdoor seating includes blankets and heaters. I've been a few times now and the service is always good/attentive too. Previous visits I was there for dinner, but at my most recent visit I was there for brunch so I ordered the Veggie Breakfast Hash. It was delicious (perfectly poached egg and nicely seasoned) - only thing missing was a sprinkle of cheese or sour cream lol. Bartender wasn't present so the only drink options that morning were a mimosa or a bloody mary, but if you're there when the bartender is then definitely give their cocktails a try. They're good!

The hotel is unfortunately across from the shady tenderloin, but once you enter the lobby everything feels high end. Once on the rooftop we had a great spot with a great view. The service was spotty but the food was great. Especially the fried chicken. Order it! We hit this spot before a concert at the Warfield. The line for the Warfield wraps the block all the way to the front of the hotel. As we finished dinner we got right in line.

It was a bit spicy. The beet poke was an interesting combination - I'm impressed they were able to capture the essence of poke! The spicy sauce pizza was good - you can't tell it's vegan at all. The restaurant was very cozy and intimate. The staff were all really friendly! The food came out pretty quickly.

I realized I had not added seating accommodation to my reservation and tried to call, but no one answered. When we arrived, the hostess told us we would not be able to sit in any of the currently empty booths because reservations were coming in later. We were seated at a table off the dining space near the kitchen, my mom was a little too chilly and the booth didn't have enough neck support. I expressed to the host that though I was sorry I had forgotten to add accommodation, that this was just not the way to handle the problem. I was able to speak to the manager, who had been outside taking orders and was clearly working very hard that day. (Her name is quite uncommon so I'm just going to call her M, but I really appreciate your help!) She asked me what my concern was, and I told her, at which point she asked me to wait nearby while she figured out if she could rearrange some tables for us. The bartender was incredibly kind and served me while I waited, and distracted me from imminent tears by sharing intricate details about each drink he was making. I learned do they have a myriad of health oriented cocktails, with ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and aloe liqueur. The manager returned and said that she had already seated my mother in a new space and escorted me to the table, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the meal. At the beginning of the menu, they list the ingredients that are currently in season, and at the back of the menu, there is a color wheel, telling you the benefits of the colors of food. (Purple foods can assist with memory and brain function!). We ordered the asparagus, which was in season, spicy cucumber, and the Aji grill for two. The tofu that came with the grill for two was my favorite thing that we ate. I think you can judge a vegan / vegetarian restaurant by their treatment of tofu. Perfectly seasoned with a crispy outside and I would come back just for this. The cauliflower steak was also pretty tasty. The cocktails are excellent, we tried the BLACKPINK and my mother tried the espressotini and we were really happy with both. I don't know how popular their bar scene is, but I imagine it would be a nice way to meet other vegan and vegetarian folks over light bites. Our waiter Daniel made sure to give us the Mother's Day special dessert the restaurant had created, which was an avocado Grenache with fresh berries. If the experience had started with less stress, this review would be five stars, but I'm very grateful to the staff for doing what they could to correct it and ensure that we had a great Mother's Day! I would love to visit again and update my review :)

Cilantro?thyme?) or some arugula, something to balance it out. Would be best to come with someone else (if you have someone to go with you, I didn't) and share more dishes, I think. The marinated artichokes were good, not amazing, but a large portion and pleasant enough. I wish they had more veggies or a salad option. The seats are not comfortable, this is not a place to come and relax with a book. The parklet seating is nicely sheltered from the breeze, but can be noisy. The music, outdoor setting, and service are all good. Flatbread was lovely and soft when hot, hardens to a crispy cracker when it cools. The Woody's sparkling N.A. rosé was a bit flat (flavor wise). I've had better ones (especially for the price). I'd definitely come back with a friend or a date. It was a depressing spot for dining solo, and it would be hard to come here with a bigger group.
