The caesar came with actual anchovies which I adored, tho I found it a lil small for two people. The rest I found okay for the price. The risotto had a decent amount of lobster, but was a lil too mushy. The green beans had a nice snap but could have used more flavor. For the dessert, I found it needed more texture to cut into the softness of the ingredients. It was very pumpkin-y tho. Service was great as expected. Our server was attentive without being overly so. They noted the birthday and wrote on the plate for our dessert. So, I go to Vegas 3 times a years and spend 7-10 days. I don't go there to gamble, I go there just to eat. In my opinion, Vegas has some of the best restaurants in the country, from hole in the walls to 5 star restaurants. They also have some of the best burger joints in the country. Among them at the higher levels are Peter Lugar and Ramsey. Of course, there are many more upscale burger joints, but those burgers are some excellent burger. You get your money's worth. When I heard about Miller and Lux and saw a picture of their burger on Yelp, I was quite interested. I consider this to be a burger that would probably measure up to the tops in Vegas. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. I did have some issues with the burger. The jam that is used, frankly did nothing for the burger. I would have preferred quality slices of bacon. In addition for my taste, there was way too much jam, much of which I scraped off. The jam overpower the flavor of the meat, but here's the other issue. For me the meat had no flavor. For me, when you're buying a burger at this level, the burger should be cooked over charcoal or a gas fire. Sorry, a flat top just doesn't work, in my opinion. I also had a problem with the shoe string fries. I'm not a fan, but that's a personal issue. However, burgers at this level should be accompanied with thick cut fries, again a personal opinion, but one that is the nature of the beast in Vegas. Of course, if you haven't been to Miller and Lux, you'll have to make the trip down and make your own observations. Now, I might come back for the Dover Sole. We came here on a day that the Chase center did not have an event. We did not make reservations, but we came early for an early dinner. I've come before when they did have an event and you cannot get a table. It was packed. So, you must plan ahead if you plan to eat here. I've also tried the Miller and Lux in Hawaii, the Big Island. That place was so nice, I wanted to try this one in San Francisco. The place looks nice and bright, with big windows. A view of the bay. The staff was very nice and helpful. The server was attentive. The food we ordered was amazing. Everything was very good. The steak was cooked to the right temperature, medium rare. The burger, which they are known for was delicious. The French fries were really good. The mash potatoes were perfectly seasoned and very smooth. Their version of Yorkshire pudding bread was good. I don't usually like Yorkshire pudding. Usually taste like cardboard to me, but I ate Miller & Lux's version. Yes, absolutely, love this place. I would definitely come again. We had a great time here and food was awesome. When the making the reservation via phone the person on the other end was so thoughtful in suggesting times that would allow for us to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed before the game. I will definitely be going again! * Burger: Funnily enough, this was one of my favorite items on the menu. Not only that: I've had many burgers in my life, and this is hands down my absolute favorite. After we were seated they asked if we wanted to check our coats which was nice touch, they asked after some of us were already seated so if you want to check a coat consider taking this off before you enter the booth seating. Drinks: We brought our own bottle of wine which 1st bottle is $50 corkage fee they do decant and pour for you which is great, staff did walk through the wine and cocktail options as well as the champagne cart but we decided to stick with our bottle Food: Amuse Bouche - a lovely 1st bite, a creamy potato croquette with truffle and cheese, so delicious perfectly fried, nice contrast of textures Popover & Butter - delicious, served warm, fluffy interior with a really nice crispy shell, great on it's own but even better with butter Steak Tartar - very good, super rich and decadent, steak was well marbled and melt in the mouth, warm bone marrow added extra fatty richness, loved the mustard seeds and the little slices of chili adding pops of flavor and acidity, housemade potato chips were crispy slightly salted and a great vehicle for serving the tartar Caesar Salad - good, we got 1 order and split between the 4 of us which made for a nice appetizer salad size for our group, loved the table side presentation, romaine was fresh and crisp, dressing was light and balanced, lots of fresh grated parmesan and the anchovies added saltiness to the salad, the confit lemon peel was another nice element and GF bread crumbs added more crispy bits 46oz Tomahack Ribeye - cooked medium rare which they did, nice pink red center, this was sliced off the the bone making for easy service, exterior was well seasoned with a nice char and crispy texture, the steak we got had quite a bit of a fat cap parts almost an 1" thick wish the rendering was a bit better, we got to select a sauce to go with our steak and went with the red wine bordelaise which paired nicely with the cut Potato Puree - so creamy and rich, well seasoned, no lumps detected, flavorful and pairs great with the steak Creamed Kale - also rich and creamy, kale was tender and love the crunch kale and fried onions adding a textural contrast, well seasoned and another great side Service was solid, staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They went into great detail on both the food and drink menu. Another interesting observation is several staff members asked if we were celebrating anything which we did have a birthday and mentioned in the reservation and subsequently throughout our meal when staff asked repeatedly. So not sure there is communication flowing through to all staff. We did appreciate the dessert bites that the staff brought out when we were closing our meal. Overall a beautiful steakhouse with great food, every thing we tried was delicious but a very rich and heavy meal. Would love to see a few lighter sides or mains. This was my second time dining at Miller & Lux, and since my last visit they've been added to the Michelin Guide, which made me even more excited to return. There was a small hiccup with the timing of our reservation--we had a confirmed 4:15 booking, but the restaurant didn't open until 4:30. Even so, the staff handled it graciously and invited us to sit at the bar while they prepared our table. While we waited, I had the Guava Rose Spritz, which was light, refreshing, and a perfect start to the evening. My dad ordered the Scotch Palmer and said it was the best drink he's had all year. My mom enjoyed her Pink Lady as well. Once our table was ready, we were led upstairs to a table near the kitchen. We opted for the champagne service, and the sommelier--who happened to be the same one we had on our last visit--was once again fantastic. She walked us through the options, answered all our questions, and made the experience feel special. Because it was a Warriors game night, we were told we needed to place our entire order at once. The last time we came, we were able to order in courses, but given how busy it was, we understood the change. For starters, we had the mac and cheese and deviled eggs, both delicious. Even though Miller & Lux is a steakhouse, I couldn't resist ordering the risotto again--it was divine. We also shared the New York steak, which was a good cut of meat, though it did arrive cold. My mom had the hamburger, which came with fries; the fries were also cold, likely due to the rush of the evening. Our server--also the same one from our first visit--was wonderful. Despite how busy the restaurant was, she remained attentive and warm throughout the meal. One especially convenient perk: since we were heading to the game afterward, we were able to use the private Miller & Lux entrance to access Chase Center, which made getting in incredibly easy. We enjoyed a last minute dinner while in the area for a concert. We didn't have a reservation, but that wasn't an issue. We were seated almost immediately downstairs and still able to enjoy the full menu. From start to finish, service was on point. They were also very helpful in terms of offering menu suggestions. I especially enjoyed the flavor of their classic deviled eggs, there was no twist on a timeless favorite and that's what I loved about them. I also enjoyed the creamed kale, the flavors of creamed spinach but the kale holds up better than spinach and has a nice hearty texture. The steak was good, but nothing special. Shared everything family style with my family and it was the perfect amount - new york strip - dry aged wagyu - ricotta ravioli - root veg side - salmon Table side ceasar salad was fun but a little too bitter. we got 2 ceasars for 4 people; asked if they could split it into 5 plates, but they could not. The steaks were pretty mid for the flavor, a bit of greying, and crust of the meat. each steak came with a sauce, and i preferred the horseradish. I highly recommend taking advantage of Mandy's elite champagne and sparkling wine offerings. the bubbles paired perfectly with the caviar and crème fraîche on a crispy, house-made Kennebec potato chip--a flawless combination. the burrata dish often changes with the season, and these flavors did not disappoint: mouthwatering burrata paired with the crispiest, airiest fried kabocha squash, hazelnuts, thinly sliced pears, and fresh autumn chicories. the lobster was exceptional--juicy, tender, and resting in a pool of creamy beurre blanc. and the 2oz Wagyu... do NOT pass this up. it's small yet mighty, absolutely unforgettable, and cooked just right. be sure to savor every bite! we also ordered the illegal mezcal and pink lady cocktails, which were super tasty, balanced, and a great addition to our meals. the only tragedy is that we always fail to save room for dessert, but I will never say no to carrot cake! read more

I was prepared to be NOT impressed with our dinner here. I ate here a couple years ago and it was just Okay. We wanted to take my inlaws for a birthday dinner here and this time it was exceptional. My mother in law has a gluten sensitivity and her MD said to stay away, they were very accommodating to this, when we were all enjoying our popovers they brought out a seperate dish of house made sweet potato chips for her to have. The server was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and what she could and couldn't have, by far one of the best servers we have had while out. The flavors of everything were on point, I had the pork chop and it was one of the best flavored pork dishes I have had, I haven't been able to find a place that makes one as good as I had in Atlanta years ago and this was right up there with it. My husband's steak was great and the inlays enjoyed their filet. The only part of the night that was a disappointment was they did away with their dessert cart! That was so much fun and I missed it, I also wasn't a big fan of their dessert options but thats just me. We heard great things about Miller & Lux, so our expectations were high for our anniversary dinner. The retro vibe was cool, with the columns, booths, and carts. The food was mostly a hit. The ribeye, the truffle mac n cheese, and truffle Parmesan fries were great. The potato puree was decent. The burger was awkward to eat - it was so tall with the thick patty, two layers of onion rings, and bun. The lobster bisque was a miss, due to an over-powering bitter flavor. The service was inconsistent - some parts were great. We told them we don't drink, so they were very cognizant of that throughout the meal - they pointed us toward the non-alcoholic drinks on the menu, they didn't give the dessert drinks menu, and they informed us that alcohol was used in the bisque (they said it burned off during the cooking process). It felt like a precision operation during each portion of the service - a team swooped in and removed the plates from the previous service, while another team swooped in placed the plates for the next service. But other parts of the service were off - and it wasn't just one thing. At the beginning, things felt rushed - drinks, then appetizers, then entrees all super fast one after the other, with no room to breathe. Then, it felt slow - a long time of just sitting at a cleared table waiting for the dessert menu, and then a long time of sitting waiting for the check. They said they would cut the burger in half, so we could share - but it didn't come cut. At the beginning they asked if it was a special occasion, and we said "Yes, it's our 19th anniversary." I wasn't expecting anything until they asked, and then I was a little disappointed when nothing came of it. I'm not sure why they asked? In town for a weekend trip with my daughter and had this place on my bucket list. Yes it's pricey and our meal was absurdly expensive but we loved every minute of it. Made reservations a couple weeks in advance. Did not leave enough time to commute because there was a concert the evening we were dining. Chef Tyler was walking around and greeting guests. He could sense my fan girling and came by, shook hands and checked in on us a couple of times. The experience totally delivered from there. Started with oysters then Ceasar salad the small waygu steak plate then the burger then the chocolate mouse. There is also an amuse that comes out at the beginning (yum) and a bread course, which are popovers that we loved. Oysters were good, the accouterment was a little different than is typical, happened to be our oysters were from Alaska (Ketchikan) very good. Lots of others have commented on the salad. It's was a really good Caesar salad. Steak was amazing. Literally like butter. Steak was served with a hot rock where we had fun heating it up. Very tasty toppings and sauces for the steak. Please don't hate me for ordering g a burger but damn it was good. Bacon jam and onion rings. Bun was ridiculous. The dessert was amazing. It is served like an ice cream sundae table side (I actually overheard our neighbor ask his date why the ice cream wasn't cold) and while I didn't love the crunchies on top the candied orange was a total surprise hit for us. I don't love orange and chocolate but this was a unique delicious compliment to the chocolate. There is also a very fancy champagne cart that comes by, I loved the classic champagne I ordered as well as my dirty martini. Service was excellent. A couple of items to note: 7% service charge is a bit confusing. Not sure how to layer or factor that in with the tip since it is mentioned on the menu that the 7% is meant to go to the service workers. In hindsight I wish I would have asked this question. I came here with a group of girlfriends and thought the food was good, but certainly an expensive meal. I would say this restaurant is worth a try, but not super memorable and wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again. Another thing that turned me off - I brought gender reveal cupcakes to share with my friends for after dinner, however they insisted on a no outside food policy and only allowed me to bring the cupcakes in with a $25 per person cake cutting fee... for cupcakes that don't need to be cut. Upon entering the restaurant, hostess was about to seat another group. She checked my name and then said we could order drinks in the bar and wait for her to come back. How long was she planning to be gone? We arrived on time for our reservation so we expected to be seated pretty quickly and just stood by the door. When we were seated, no one gave us a menu. Five minutes pass before a waiter comes by to tell us we're going to get an amuse bouche. Then we wait another 5 minutes to get menus. At that time, waiter tells us about specials, but they're out of rib eyes. When I said I was hoping to eat one, he said there's actually only one 14 oz rib eye and two wagyu rib eyes left. It's only 6 pm but they're out of rib eyes? How does that happen at a steak house? Service is spotty. Waiter disappears for long stretches. He does not check on us. However, Bus boys do come by regularly to give us water and get table ready for next dishes. When our dinners have been cleared, no one is around for 20 minutes. I see a short petite woman (assuming a manager) who kept walking back and forth, but she never went to tables to introduce herself or check on them). I attended a birthday dinner at Miller & Lux with a group of 13 for a 7PM weekday reservation. Staff was extremely accommodating and allowed the group to spend 3 hours on cocktails, with food arriving at 10pm and the group trickling out around 11:30. Keep in mind that the restaurant closes at 9, so really appreciated their hospitality and never rushing us out. This was a great venue for a special occasion and the food was solid. The best: - amuse bouche: one of the best appetizer bites I've had. Apparently they rotate, but this was some creamy French onion filling in a crispy cup. Amazing. - oysters: I didn't have any, but everyone around me loved these. Just okay: - steak tartare: we all agreed this was bland. I've had a lot better. - truffle fries: I love shoe string fries, but these were a bit too crispy and under seasoned - Wagyu tomahawk: this tasted fine, but we were pretty let down at the actual meat portion. For $350, we expected more meat than bone. It was recommended for 3-4 people but I would honestly only recommend it for 2 people. It also didn't taste like A5 wagyu, more just a tender cut. My friend wanted to have a final steak dinner before leaving the US, so I decided to take him to Miller & Lux since they are close to my apartment and the reviews are good. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. We ordered the Market Oysters with Pink Lady Apple Mignonette ($68 for a dozen), New York Strip ($115, 20 oz), Black Truffle Parmesan Fries ($20), and Yellowfin tacos (now off the menu). My favorite items were the Yellowfin tacos and the fries; the oysters and steak unfortunately fell short. The oysters were fresh, but the apple mignonette was too mild and lacked the slight acidity that really brightens the flavors of the oysters. The steak was honestly a little chewy and wasn't very flavorful - my friend and I agreed that the steak he had made while we were camping was better (and we bought that from a grocery store for $20). Service was professional and the interior was dimly lit and fancy - great for a romantic evening, special occasion, or work event. I came here to celebrate my lovers' birthday and we had the creamed kale, beat salad, Australian Wagyu Tomahawk, truffle mac and cheese and the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. The food was good, the service however was excellent. All the employees were very attentive and our waitress was knowledgeable and did an excellent job. The food lacked a little bit of flavor and I wasn't impressed but overall good experience. The chocolate cookie we ordered was meh, just ok nothing special. The beet salad though, sooooo good. That was my favorite food of the night. Overall you come here for the ambiance not the food. read more

The ambiance at this restaurant is truly stunning. The space is very clean, the layout is thoughtfully designed, and the view outside is beautiful. The service was also great--everyone was incredibly kind, I appreciated the hospitality. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. We ordered the wagyu tomahawk, but it was incredibly tough and lacked flavor. It didn't taste like high-quality Wagyu at all. The other dishes were also quite mediocre and didn't stand out. It's a nice place to visit once for the atmosphere, but I wouldn't return for the food. read more

Finally made it back to Miller & Lux to give it another try and I am glad to say it was as good, if not better than our first visit. The service was impeccable on our visit. Everyone in the restaurant, it seemed, was attentive, friendly and engaging. Our servers were on spot and the wine sommelier was on point. We had a glass of champagne to start the evening since we celebrating a birthday and her recommendation was fantastic. While we did bring our own bottle of wine, she decanted it for us and was very excited to talk about the wine. She also comped us an after dinner wine (again because we were celebrating. The food was amazing, as we expected. The menu was changed a bit since our last visit and so I went from my "go to" filet, to the Steak Diane. Hubby did have the filet and raved about the taste. We also had the table side prep Caesar salad, creamed kale and a mountain of french fries. All in all, it was a great time, great food, great service. They won us back! read more

Started the night with a little amuse bouche, a crispy ball that had this beautifully savory, creamy center. I don't even know exactly what it was but yes, delicious We skipped apps and went straight to mains, choosing two sides: the black truffle parmesan fries piled up like a tiny mountain Crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and those little whisps of cheese + sprinkles of truffle brought a rich, balanced flavor. Then the Yukon Gold potato purée, basically butter with a side of mashed potatoes - So silky smooth, topped with chopped chives. For my main, the 8 oz filet mignon (medium rare) had the hardest sear on the outside, giving way to that beautiful red/pink center that sliced effortlessly. The sauce was a bit bitter yet sweet, intriguing my palate in the best way. My fiancé went for the pork chop tomahawk, sliced off the bone with a tableside pour of sauce. Each slice was super moist and he devoured it. It also came with grilled mushrooms We passed on dessert but they surprised us with two small bites of carrot cake, rich, creamy, and unbelievably moist and light. Overall, I can't fault Miller & Lux. With the Michelin star now, it's no surprise, and compared to eating there 2-3 years ago, the atmosphere and service are still superb. I came here for dinner and really enjoyed my evening! We started with the champagne cart, which was a nice little treat. They had some pretty extensive wine selections to pair with your choice of entrees. We ended up getting a glass of the granache 2019 to pair with our ribeye. The temperature of the meat was perfectly executed. The wait staff were very attentive with our table, which was as expected given the price point of the menu. While the entrance is a bit unassuming, once you arrive at the main dining area, you realize it's a special place: elegant, sophisticated, and cozy. Stopped by this restaurant before we went to a concert at the Chase Center, and we had an amazing experience. When you walk inside, it has an old-school steakhouse charm. Everyone is very attentive, and the service is exceptional. We started with one of their signature cocktails & salad. We were also served complimentary popovers. The popovers were soft and delicious and paired nicely with their butter. For the main course we ordered the M&L burgers. The burgers were amazing. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the onion rings and bacon jam that came with the burger added to the exceptional flavor. The burgers were served with delicious truffle fries and we substituted one order of truffle fries for the black truffle Mac and cheese. Comfortable dining experience with a clear focus on quality. Starters and desserts are made with finesse and balance. The drinks are cold, crisp, and a perfect pairing for your meal. However, the steaks have an aggressive dry-age flavor which can be good or bad depending on your palate. Service is courteous and professional, though attentiveness by the wait staff can be uneven at times. To be clear, this is the first time I've eaten at Miller and Lux. When you mention Miller and Lux the first thing that their reputation has built is best steaks in the City, ambiance, top notch service and moderately difficult to land reservations due to these reasons. A pretty high bar. My experience was bad. To begin with our server was obnoxious. Downright snooty. He gave the air of someone who gave off the impression "you are lucky to eat here". During our visit, he was there to take the order, drop off the food, give the check. He never asked how was the food. He never checked in on us. He was not attentive whatsoever. During our visit we brought our own wine. Corkage was $50. Not a big deal. However, if im pay that much I find it ironic i had to pour my own wine the entire evening. Simply horrible. We had the tuna tartar. Extremely bland. The only thing we could taste was the blue tortilla it was served on. I ordered the ribeye. I was shocked when the server said here is your well done steak (I requested medium) I checked and there was enough pink that I let it slide. My partner had a hamburger that was very dry. The reason we chose Miller and Lux was to celebrate my birthday. Even though we passed on choosing dessert they gave a courtesy bday dessert. It was half the size of a donut hole. Why did they even bother? Most establishments give a complimentary standard size dessert to recognize a birthday. The owner really needs to have a team meeting. If this is the norm for this establishment it will go the route of Gary Dankos that rested on their laurels. With pricing and competition in San Framcisco it is tough to own a restaurant. With what I experienced I wouldnt be surprised if they start losing business. A reputation is only good if you can back it up. read more

Came here after a Warriors game with family and thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! Our family was quite large so we got our own private room, and the ambiance was so lovely. The music isn't too loud, sound travels to and from so it did feel very lux while still maintaining a sense of comfort; if that makes sense. Miller and Lux did a great job creating a comfortable yet high-end experience. We decided on ordering food family style, so that everyone could try bits and pieces of everything! We started off with some appetizers: - steak tartare: 10/10, so fresh and the flavors were impeccable! Everyone's favorite of the night - truffle deviled eggs: 7/10, the truffle was overpowering and was the only flavor coming through - wagyu donut: 7/10, the wagyu was delicious but the truffle donut had an interesting flavor that our palettes weren't quite used to - miller & lux Caesar: 10/10, made in front of you so you can see what goes into it -- absolutely delicious! So fresh and perfectly made by our server Onto the mains and sides: - Wagyu tomahawk: 10/10, medium rare was perfect and paired nicely with their bordelaise - Yukon puree: 12/10, delicious and sooooo good with the gravy on the side. One of my favorites here! Desserts: - cookies: 10/10, soooo yum. Warmed and chewy - my absolute favorite type of cookie. They're about the size of a dollar coin which was funny, but the perfect size after such a filling meal - bananas fosters: 12/10, we got to watch our server make us our bananas fosters. You watch the bananas caramelize, the aroma of the sugars fill the air and really remind you of Christmas. He did a great job and kept us so entertained and joyful all night. Onto the dessert itself, so delicious. The bananas paired wonderfully with the ice cream and hidden cake at the bottom. We had ordered 2, and it was definitely enough to be split between 10 people. We are definitely returning, Miller & Lux is now a family favorite, with a lovely view of the bay. read more
