My friend and I happened upon this place when we were in the area & wanted a cocktail. The host was super friendly & sat us right away at the bar. All of the bar tenders were equally as friendly and explained their spirits. The cocktails were so cute and both resembled a fruit or vegetable. We shared a few appetizers, the bread with cacio e pepe spread & bacalao mantecato. The bread was fresh baked & delicious, I honestly would come back just for the bread . The bacalao mantecato was also very good, but to be honest I just came back from Venice and it was lacking the smooth creamy texture. Overall we enjoyed our cocktails and snacks & the staff were all very friendly and attentive!

I recommend the distillery tour: $45/person. They have some very interesting machinery. They serve up a spritz when everyone arrives. Aftward, there is a tasting of 4 of their amaros, with a few snacks. It's a flavor adventure; the amaros are much sweeter, delicate, and nuanced than standard amaros. Here's the run-down: Orchards: 23% ABV: A softer, lighter, and more nuanced version of Amaro Montenegro. Woodlands: 21% ABV: Very heavy cacao note with figs. It's almost a chocolate liqueur. Can be used in place of Averna in a Black Manhattan. Fields: 35% ABV: Very sweet, and heavy on the celery and butterscotch. Chaparral: 46% ABV; A lighter version of Green Chartreuse that is heavy on the mint and green tea. After the tour, you can stay and order food at the tasting table, but it's better to make a reservation in the main dining room. The place is small and books up way in advance. K&L Wines sells the amaros for less than the price at the distillery.

Were I wishing to impress a special someone with my gift for finding hidden gems while also saying I have money without coming out and saying it, Brucato would be where I'd head. I'd also head there for the delightful ambiance, food, and drink presented with polish, and stellar hospitality. I liked the way the staff here looked, operated, and engaged. This place, with its unusual location and pedigree, is spotless, stylish, and delicious. This, I have determined after 4 of us sat at the bar for a couple of hours enjoying drinks (West Coast IPAs, Negroni, and a Yuba) and snacks (Fried Oyster Mushrooms, $12 and Chicken & Manchego Croquettes, $16). I'm a quick study. If you notice your surroundings you'll begin to understand that Brucato is the brand of amaro - an Italian herbal liqueuer - that they make on the ground floor (tours available). Many versions line the walls as well as some non-amaro spirits also being made here and it's likely your cocktail will feature one. I happened to notice Brucato when parking nearby and suggested it a couple of hours later when we were looking for a spot to grab a drink. None of us knew anything about it but, after witnessing a couple order up a flight and a meal, we all left saying we wanted to come back and do as they were: sample more. We all found Brucato very charming and appealing. Cocktails here run about $18-$22 (before a 5% surcharge on all tabs) which I put in the category of "ridiculously expensive" so it's saying something special when I express a desire to return. Brucato was an unexpected welcome surprise.

Stopped by for pre dinner drinks on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by the local selections! It was so fun trying the different types and flavor profiles. Their food menu also looked great - I'll have to be back to confirm!

Fun atmosphere with great knowledge on drinks! Came to hang with a friend and got a cocktail (delicious) and tasting flight. The amaro flight was a bit sweet for me but it was interesting to try all the different flavors and I love how passionate the bartender was about sharing her experiences with us

Cute bar with delicious appetizers and fun cocktails. We walked in with no reservation at around 5 on a Friday and were able to grab a spot at the bar. The cocktails were fun and although I'm not usually much of a liqueur person, the tasting flight was a really cool way to explore the amaro. My favorite dish by far was the bread with the tomato jam for dipping! Although the Cacio Pepe butter that comes with the bread probably would have been enough on its own. The stand out was the lovely bartender who made great recommendations!

This place was really cute. There's not much directly around it, so it was kind of mysterious to me for a while. The tour sounded really cool, but we ended up stopping by just for drinks one night. There was a very small, and full, upstairs dining room. We took a seat at the bar to watch the action there. We didn't eat, but the food looked good, though mostly fancy small plates. Two of us shared a flight which included their orchards, woodlands, chaparral, and a seasonal (which was delicious, but on its way out). The cocktail menu has a few twists on old favorites and some pretty creative ones. The bartender was knowledgeable and gave a lot of care to the drinks. I'd come back to try other things and see what's new.

I came to grab a drink while waiting for our dinner reservation at a restaurant nearby and we were blown away by the drinks here. We were able to grab a seat at the bar on the second floor right away and I got the tish tang o tang which was delicious! I loved the melon flavor which was fresh and light, perfect for someone who isn't a fan of spirit forward cocktails. My friend got the lambrusco, a sparkling red wine which is her go-to. I tried a sip and loved that this one was not too sweet and a bit more dry than the lambruscos I've tried before. Such a nice spot for drinks and I'll have to come back for food sometime! The space is gorgeous as well with a lot of natural lighting that made for such a nice ambiance right before sunset!

Combining a distillery with fine dining is a genius idea . Bottom floor is the tasting , top floor is where you dine . As you walk up the stairs , it feels like you are entering a fancy treehouse . The plants are a great addition. Brucato focuses on capturing the essence of different California regions in each of its amaro expressions. -Chaparral : herbal with notes of Yerba Santa -Orchid : fruity notes from Central Valley of apricot , walnut , cinnamon -woodlands : represents the redwoods and oak forest with a chocolate undertones I'd recommend going for the high ball and mixer if you don't want drink as much For food , the crispy chicken skin add home made mango have rep hot sauce was my favorite. Perfectly crispy with some spice . Octopus on skewer was tender . Butter bean was added in to fill you up . Server was great in filling our water and asking what we need . Food: chickpea panissa ras el hanout, meyer lemon aioli gribenes chewy & crispy baked chicken skins, caraway, fried onion octopus confit skewer chaparral tomato glaze, butter beans,

A bar and restaurant in celebration of amaro?! Yes please! The space itself is minimal and contemporary, airy and clean, with a great soundtrack! I of course got a Manhattan, my favorite and all the food was delish! I'd love to go back for a tasting! Service was sweet and they even accommodated my off menu request for cherry liqueur in my Manhattan!

Really cute cozy ambiance. We were seated upstairs and were completely in love with the decor and were even talking about the cute tiles in the bathroom. We ordered the amaro flight, which progressively increased in ABV, highest at 40+%. All colors were natural with focus given to local ingredients and California flavors. Servers were so nice and clearly knew what they were talking about. Gave a very homey vibe. Food was equally tasty, loved the salad

A super cute place to stop by for a drink or sit down and have dinner! Only came for a pre dinner drink but wished we could have tried some of their food items. We ordered the amaro flight that was all local sf made amaro. The staff were so knowledgeable and kind. Cannot wait to Come back for dinner!

Cocktail menu, food menu, and beers available so you can enjoy whatever you feel like for the night. Cocktails made with the three Amari, distilled right here on the bottom floor. Enter on street level and the restaurant and bar are upstairs Private dining room available for events Check out the wall shelf. You can buy the amaro bottles to take home for Mixing your own drinks or enjoy as is. Three to choose from and each go with different liquors (woodland [recommended with whiskey], chaparall [mezcal], orchard). Each has their own unique flavor profile. Try to see what you like! You can try each in a mixed cocktail from the bar. Some food items also incorporate the Amaro into it. How fun to try. Also cute merch like sweaters and caps and bar tools Food- -sun choke toast: delightful. Sunflower seeds and sprouts on a piece of warm toast -octopus Confit skewer: this uses their chaparall amaro for glaze! If you want to try the amaro in food -lamb riblets: if you're feeling a little meaty -gribenes: crispy baked chicken skins, good appetizer to with some drinks if you want something to munch on

Ube Cheesecake ($19) Wonderful dessert cocktail to finish the night. We didn't have time to try the Escape Room connected to the Speakeasy, but we'll be back! There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

I actually came here twice while on a trip to SF. The Cafe turns into a bar at night. So the first…read morenight I had the Kohaku, which was a whiskey drink. I pretty much try any creamy drink that has a whipped egg white. This was an amazing drink, bright citrus, smokey whiskey, and a creamyness from the egg. Next the Miran Miyagi oysters were very fresh, I forgot what was in it, but there was some crunchy bits for texture and there was also a good kick of spice. The Hojicha Affogato was their dessert, and it was also great. It had dark chocolate gelato and a raspberry compote. I came back to try the Matcha Einspanner since I heard good things about it. I never had one before, but if they're all like this, then I love einspanners. It had a super thick whipped cream with a nice high quality matcha. The service was also very friendly. And since this is a bar/ cafe, it's super chill vibes.
