Had some delicious oysters at little shucker, it's a great spot for seafood. I feel like 2 to 4 people is the perfect amount to go with, it was harder to share with 6 Service was good, one of my favorite things was the phone controlled heater
Little but "big" in taste! We have ordered chips n dip, crab roll and tuna melt. All the items are very good, portion can be improved. But this place is a bit upscale so not surprising about the portion size. The tuna melt comes on sourdough, very very delicious and toasty sourdough bread. The crab roll comes with generous amount of crab and some "imitation" caviar or top. Overall very nice! Will highly recommend. Also the staffs are very friendly, the vibe is chill and the restaurant is super clean and cozy. Server is friendly and service is fast enough!
Great spot to enjoy some nice weather outdoors! The patio is dog friendly, which was a huge plus for us. We started with the chips and dip, then went straight for the raw bar and got the Little Shucker. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Paired it with a glass of Chenin Blanc, which complemented the oysters, tuna crudo and prawns perfectly. Will definitely be back, especially on a sunny day with the pup in tow!
Came here for lunch. Good thing they have a bar, look like it should be good for wine and oyster. Ordered the crab sandwich, taste good and presentation is great. Tomato soup is just average, next time can skip. Tuna melt is good too but portion size is too small. In general, food taste good but expect it is little bit pricey. Definitely don't drive here because street parking is very expensive ($7 per hr). Anyway, one time visit is okay.
Looking for the quickest way to spend your Chase sapphire reserve credit? I totally forgot until May 25 but luckily they had tons of reservations available. I've already been to little shucker before with my friend who's an oyster aficionado. We didn't really like the cooked or raw oyster that much. I came back with my boyfriend and I gotta say, everything was so good. Is it because it's free? I don't know. The lobster roll, salad, scallop tartar...all excellent. We ate so much. We were seated in the corner bar so we got to people watch both the street and inside the restaurant. Nice neighborhood to walk it off afterward too.
Super casual seafood spot, perfect on a September afternoon. The seafood was fresh and steak and fries were perfectly cooked. The restaurant was not super packed on the Sunday evening so it was easy to get our service attention if we needed anything.
The scallop tartare was incredibly fresh, delicate, and beautifully prepared. I opted for the cold crab roll, which was packed with flavor and generously filled, though they also offer a warm buttered version. The mussels were absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked and served with a rich, flavorful broth that was impossible to stop dipping the bread (and fries!) into. Even the steak impressed me. It was tender, well-seasoned, and served over a huge bed of crispy fries, making it a great choice if you're in the mood for something beyond seafood. Little Shucker is definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to whenever I'm craving fresh seafood in SF.
Went here to celebrate a birthday celebration. We ordered a bottle of wine, 2 bowls of black squid pasta, steak and fries, mussels, crab roll, and scallop tartare. The servers were great and was very attentive to the birthday celebration. At the end they gave a complimentary pudding to celebrate. Food was good. I would say the steak doesn't blow you out of the water but man those fries were goood. And the mussel juice/liquid I could just drink it! Knocking off one star because the napkin cloth they gave just smelled terrible. Would come back for the food and great vibes!
Came into little shucker to use my chase dining credits, I had my eye on this place for a longtime but was not impressed at all! It honestly was extremely underwhelming for both my sister and I. We started off with a variety of fresh oysters, chips and dip added caviar (this was our favorite), scallop crudo which had no flavor besides being overly salty. I'm glad we started with those smaller bites before ordering more because once we tried those without being impressed by any we figured our money would be spent better elsewhere. This place doesn't even hold a candle to woodhouse fish co a few doors down. The ambiance is cute and feels very open, service was great. Wouldn't recommend for good seafood thought, other places are far better and more economic!
I know this place is known for seafood, but I saw Grilled Cheese on the menu and had to order it along with their tomato soup. Loved the grilled cheese has 2 different cheeses! Delicious the soup is delicious and you can taste the spices in the soup. Of course I had to order French fries to add to the meal. The service is excellent and the staff are attentive and friendly and helpful! Love the ambiance, reminds me of relaxing at the beach! Great day today to be sitting outside. Support this local establishment, you won't be disappointed!
3.5 stars but I rounded up. It would have been solid 4 if chefs were not so heavy handed on the salt. Miso baked oysters were good but a bit over salted. Hogwash for the raw oysters was salty and tastes like fish sauce. Ended up using just the bottled sauces they provided. The branzino (fish of the day) with couscous was very good. My favorite dish. The bad: scallop tartar was not good. Literally tasted like the ocean. Service was good. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day in SF.

We went with the Little Shucker Sampler and it was a delicious way to work through a variety of bites. The standout oysters for me were the Kumiai -- fresh, clean, and everything a good oyster should be. The tuna crudo was also a highlight, the shallot sauce was incredibly refreshing and really elevated the dish. The cold crab roll was enjoyable, the freshness of the scallion was a nice touch though it did run a little salty. Same note for the steak and fries, which was otherwise cooked really well and definitely satisfying. Just a touch heavy handed on the salt across the board. The one thing I'd say you can pass on is the grilled cheese. It was a little underwhelming - not all the cheese was fully melted which made it feel unfinished, and with so many other stronger options on the menu it's easy to skip. The staff was super nice and the ambiance was absolutely perfect for a sunny afternoon out. Little Shucker has a lot going for it and with a few small tweaks in the kitchen it could easily be a five star experience.
Wow wow wow! Some of the best oysters I've had in California to date!! My friend and I stopped in with a hankering for some seafood, and this place definitely hit the spot! It was brightly lit, super inviting, and incredibly welcoming and clean. The food was also so so so incredible!! The crab sandwich was amazing. AND THE OYSTERS WERE DIVINE!! i love me a sea booger, so maybe I am not the best judge, but the barachois and the miyagi did something spiritual to me!! Also the house made green hot sauce was a legendary elixir!! Definitely check this place out!! read more
little shucker is a beautiful establishment for seafood in the Fillmore. I came here with my partner for date night, and we had a marvelous time. What we ordered: + shishito peppers [4/5]: A classic appetizer. The peppers were a little sweet and salty. They were a bit mushier than I normally like for shishito peppers. + steak & frites [6/5]: would highly recommend! The steak was impossibly soft and juicy, with a strong salty flavor. The fries were the perfect blend of crunchy & salty on the exterior with a soft fluffy interior. + mussels in beurre blanc sauce [6/5]: would highly recommend! The beurre blanc is packed with the most delicious creamy and garlicky flavor. The mussels are large and juicy, and the buttered bread that comes along with the dish is a perfect pair. My only note is here is that the mussel shells broke way easier than any other mussels I've had before-- not sure why. Service was EXCEPTIONAL. Very attentive and I could tell that many people were silently checking in on us to see if we needed anything. +10 cookie points because we were addicted to the leftover beurre blanc from the mussels, and the waiters left the dish for us because they could tell. :D read more

As the yelp rating states: it "could've been better" Decided to try little shucker with the $150 Chase Sapphire Reserve credit for open table. Had a reservation for bar seating. Service was pretty bad off the start. Greeted at door, randomly passed around by staff, then off to the side, then to a table. Two of us ordered: ghost town IPA $12 9 oysters ($4.50 ea) 3x kumiai 3x miyagi 3x mere point caesar salad with prawns $26, not much flavor squid ink tonnarelli $23, overcooked steak and fries $38, overpriced, a bit dry For an oyster spot, to have only 3 different types available is a bit disappointing. If it weren't for the credit, probably a 1 star experience. Street parking only. read more
Came here for happy hour and was able to snag a spot at the bar! We got seated at the shucking bar and was able to enjoy the staff work their magic. We snacked on oysters, chips and dip and sipped on house wine. The oysters were sweet and paired prefect with a salty bite of chips. The staff was informative and even came by to let us know happy hour was ending. Would love to come back and try more of the menu! read more
We stopped in this cute little restaurant on Fillmore St on a recent afternoon to grab lunch. It was nice outside so we got a table on the sidewalk. We each got a glass of wine because why not. The suggested wine went well with the seafood we ordered. We started with the prawn cocktail which came with six prawns and cocktail sauce. The prawns were cooked perfectly and flavorful. We also ordered the LS crab roll and tuna melt. Both came on toasted split buns. We chose the hot crab roll with butter and topped with tobiko. It was stuffed with crab meat! I could have eaten another one, it was so good. The tuna melt included sharp cheddar and mayo. It was a nice spin on a typical tuna melt. The dishes were great to share for a lunch. We'll definitely be back next time we're in SF! read more
We stopped in with no reservations for a late lunch on a Sunday. We were very impressed, little shuckers does not mess around when it comes to seafood. The oysters and mussels were fantastic especially with the accoutrements. The crab roll was something to write home about and more, we could not stop remarking on how great it was. The ambience in the place was a little odd, not sure if it's because we went at an off time. It felt a bit like the servers were hovering and looking for something to do. read more
My previous review still applies for the counter service/takeout menu. My most recent dinner service, however, was not good. I did not feel welcome, so I will not come back. Like many others have stated here, if it weren't for CSR, I wouldn't have come here in the first place. I'd only consider lunch takeout in the future so that I don't have to deal with such poor service next time. read more
This place was packed when we got here, thankfully we made reservations ahead of time, parking gets really tricky in this area but we were lucky enough to snag a spot right when we arrived. Area was super cute, I would say def a place for a party of 2-5 and anything larger may be a little hard to arrange. My favorites were the baked oysters, scalloped tartare and actually wish I went with the seafood package which also seemed like a great deal as well. The lobster roll was refreshing and while on yelp it seemed the most popular I would say I probably would have skipped and preferred some of the other seafood items they offered instead. I loved the citrus touch to the scallop tartare and it was something unique and refreshing. Of the baked oysters we had, our favorite was the miso one. Different and not something I would have thought of pairing together and delicious! For the brussel sprouts, I generally prefer crispy but my friend really liked it with the beats and it was one of her top dishes. Came here for a small Saturday lunch. It was crowded and we didn't have a reservation, but they got us a table pretty quickly. Started with a half dozen oysters, two of each kind. They were fresh and good, but honestly I couldn't really tell the difference between the types. They came with a green hot sauce that paired really well and added a nice kick. Also got the tuna crudo. Super tasty. The sauce was citrusy and worked really well with the fish. Fries were solid. The mayo was interesting. Not bad, just one of those flavors where I couldn't decide how I felt about it. read more
Came for happy hour for the oysters. We made a reservation but the place was pretty empty so no need. Parking wasn't bad around this time plenty of open spots on the busy st! The oysters were fresh. 6 for $12, worth it! I got the bread and butter craving carbs. Very disappointing, bread felt and tasted stale no toast and the butter wasn't salty or seasoned, idk for 6 bucks I wouldn't have ate it if it was free lol Tuna was good! Definitely recommend that as an appetizer, super fresh and I always love a good ahi! The steak and fries came with a heavy portion of fries. My partner loved the wine reduction flavor in the steak, however they drenched like more than half the fries with the steak sauce. I'm sure that was intentional, I prefer texture over the taste; I'd prefer my fries crispy but my bf didn't mind the soggy ones. The service was good! She checked up often and made sure we were taken care of! This place is a cute date spot. It is pricey, and if it wasn't for the happy hour oysters I probably wouldn't have stopped by. Service is sort of here or there, depending on whether you are sitting inside or outside. My first time here, I came as a walk-in and even though I was seated at a stool I felt well attended to. When my partner and I came for Valentine's Day and were on the (heated) outdoor patio, we unfortunately weren't really checked on and there seemed to be communication gaps to our order. As a seafood lover, I've always loved a good plateau de fruits de mer and the Big Shucker hits the spot as close as you can get in the city. I do think it's a fair deal, and the prepared parts of it like the scallop tartare, ahi crudo, and cold sauced mussels are inventively delectable. Both my partner and I were let down with the oysters - he was especially so since "they're called 'Little Shucker'!". I love the fun of the rest of the menu, and wish I hadn't missed out on the squid ink tonnarelli each time I went. The mussels were absolutely delicious: we wanted to drink the broth down, and sort of had to because they were rather skimpy with the bread (two small slices!). The wine flight was a great deal, and pours pretty good otherwise. I think I'll still be back, but for happy hour rather than full meals. read more
We had a 5pm reservation on Sunday and got seated promptly. There were people waiting outside, highly recommend reserving ahead of time. We were seated inside next to the window. We didn't order any oysters but did try their lobster roll, fish of the day, prawn cocktail and focaccia flatbread. The flatbread was absolutely delicious. The prawns were refreshing and the branzino was prepared beautifully. The lobster roll didn't stand out to me. Overall a great place with nice ambiance and great food. read more
Oh man, it's difficult to beat hog island oysters but the miyagi oyster was pretty good! Comes with some onion vinegar and their homeade hot sauce which wasn't anything special but neat! The crab sandwich was defintiely better than their lobster sandwich. But yiu can never beat baked oysters and they defintiely know it by their price. It was sooo good. Can't beat the miso bone marrow and garlic butter combo (separate flavors). Parking is a doozy but we found street parking half a block over for lunch time. There were some reviews about the quality and attitude of service which I can totally see but she was nice with a smile at the end! Just be polite and not entitled, things will go great! The place was really clean and spacious. Love their wooden tables and wall mounted seats! Simple and clean. read more

The 4 star is given to the mussels - HANDS DOWN. Definitely one of the best broths we've ever tried - so much so, we ordered extra baguette to dip it into the broth and didn't leave a drop! Downside, my bowl of mussels had three empty shells with no loose mussels floating around :( The house smoked butter is pretty amazing and would likely go well with any freshly baked crusted bread. Their focaccia flatbread is spectacular with the offset of balsamic vinegar to nicely compliment the arugula and ricotta. The salad was a bit standard but the person in our party enjoyed it. Lobster Roll very pricey for what was offered. We love oysters but the oysters we chose weren't anything we'd specifically come back for. LIttle Shucker will definitely be our return visit when we are hitting that mussel craving! read more
We walked in without a reservation around 4:30pm and were seated right away since it wasn't very busy. I originally came in wanting to try the lobster roll, but after reading several reviews mentioning that it was small and pricey, I decided to go with other dishes instead. We ordered The Big Shucker, the Grilled Cheese, and the Squid Ink Tonnarelli. The Big Shucker came out first and basically took over the table. For the price, I'd say it's worth it. It came with a great variety of oysters, which were all fresh and delicious, along with prawns and mussels (interesting flavor, though not my favorite part of the platter). The real standouts for me were the crudo and scallop tartare. It made for a solid appetizer and was a good amount of food to share between two people. After finishing The Big Shucker, we waited about 20 minutes for the next dishes, which felt a bit long considering the restaurant wasn't very busy. The grilled cheese was simple and came with tomato soup, though the soup costs extra. I'd recommend getting it because the soup was tasty and paired well with the sandwich. The grilled cheese itself was just okay. The squid ink tonnarelli was really good flavor-wise, but for $17, the portion was very small. It felt more like three or four bites, and I think it would make more sense as a regular entrée rather than an appetizer. Overall, everything we had was tasty and well prepared, but the portions felt a bit small for the price. Still a great spot if you're craving seafood, just be prepared for higher prices relative to portion size. read more
Imagine our surprise when we came to little shucker on a Tuesday night and finding out they had a happy hour ! As an oyster lover, it's a pretty great Happy Hour. We got 12 oysters for $24, a definite good deal in the city and more than half of the price of the regular oysters, and a glass of wine for $12 when it was usually $18. The wine was absolutely delicious and the oysters were fresh and flavorful, they definitely didn't skimp out ! The restaurant itself is very cute and an incredible place to just hang out and what with a friend or go on a date. I would recommend to make a reservation if you're going a bit later in the evening because it really starts to fill out. We were only able to be seated if we agreed to stay about an hour (which was totally fine with us). Can't wait to bring more people here. read more

The lobster roll was my favorite - warm butter roll with generous lobster meat topped with flying fish roe. The mussels was my close second - garlic beurre blanc sauce was flavorful and really goes well together with the baguette. Some of the dishes like the brussel sprouts and squid ink pasta were too salty. It took a while to flag our waiter but the food came relatively quick after we ordered. read more
Nice little lunch stop at SF today. Outdoor seating is definitely a lot louder with the buss stop and next door sports bar. Pretty distracting compared to indoor seating. Scallop Tartare - 3/5. Fresh and mild fish taste. The seaweed definitely helps add some flavor. Chips & Dip - 3/5. The sour cream has a lot more creaminess to it. I really wanted to love this place, but... Here is my experience based on my birthday dinner. We made reservations a week or 2 in advance. Fast forward to our reservation, it was a cold, drizzly evening. Even though we made reservations way in advance, the host sat us outside in the cold and didn't try to accommodate us even though I mentioned we had a reservation. When my husband joined us after looking for parking, he was not happy with where we were seated so he kindly asked the host again if we can sit inside and that we were willing to wait for a table. She gladly accommodated us if we waited a couple of minutes. That was upsetting that she couldn't offer me that when I asked initially. Let's jump into the food. We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, tuna melt, little shucker and the lobster roll (MP) w/fries. The lobster roll was about 6" and costs $48. I know we're not in Boston where we've had better and bigger for less than that, but what a disappointment of a $48 roll C'mon! I seriously tried to savor every little bite to convince myself it was worth the price. My husband enjoyed his tuna melt and my son enjoyed sharing the lobster roll with me including his grilled cheese and soup. On the bright side, I did enjoy the little shucker, although still pricey for what it was. read more

Came in on a Monday to have an early lunch. It is a bit tough finding a street parking spot in the area. Be sure to feed the meter. 1.5 hr cost us $14.20. This is a walk up to the counter and order and get your own utensils and find a table. They have minimal items to order on Mondays and Tuesdays. No reservations needed on these days only. Ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters, 2 orders of baked oysters, hot lobster rolls, and mussels. Honestly, we did not enjoy the Miso baked oysters. Miso flavored was too salty. Butter baked oysters taste better. The lobster rolls were meh. For the price here, I expected to have more big chunks of lobster and more butter taste but it was lacking. Mussels were good and light but the raw oysters were our faves. This is mainly a self service place. You order at the front counter, pay first, get your own utensils, get your water and cups, find your own table. They do not have many items on the menu. Do not think we will be back anytime soon. read more

4.5 stars. Reservations for Friday night are a must. Little Shucker is the perfect spot for date night. Seating: Outside, inside, and indoor bar. Avoid sitting by the bathrooms on either side of the bar. I sat outside and the heat lamps were cozy. Food: -Trout: Whole grilled with porcini mushroom, and barley. The skin was crispy perfection -Steak & fries: so good! - Oysters: Tried both raw & cooked (miso bone marrow was unique, a tad salty) Everything was delicious. Aww shucks I feel like I got bamboozled. Surprised by all the positive reviews. Came during lunch on a Saturday with my sister and got their: 1. warm lobster roll: good, but really small. I wasn't wowed...esp with that $48 price tag 2. ink squid pasta: good, not outstanding 3. tuna crudo: not bad! very refreshing, had that nice acidic / sour taste. but there were some chewy / tough parts?? that kinda caught me off guard like it's so soft and tender and then u gotta start chomping 4. steak and salad (not pictured): HARD PASS. the steak quality was so bad (esp at a restaurant of this caliber). Idk what part of the cow it's from but it wasn't tender, hella chewy, and had a weird mouthfeel. is this why my stomach felt like cr*p afterwards... like bro, just go to costco or whole foods and cook it yourself. i guarantee u that you would be happier. so as you can see, everything was FINE. I would recommend eating something beforehand because i was still starving afterwards. If it wasn't for the Chase Sapphire perks, I think I would've been pissed af if you told me i spent so much $$$ on such mediocre food. read more
Made a same day reservation at Little Shucker for my birthday and they did not disappoint. I was having incredibly bad luck that day but every bite I had at Little Shucker just made the day feel better and better. Originally, we made the reservation for a bar seat, but when we arrived and asked if they could switch it to a table, they were happy to do so and still even seated us early despite the restaurant being pretty full. They seated us by the window so we could see the whole restaurant. The restaurant vibe almost makes it feel like you're sitting in a giant oyster shell or a giant clam shell. The pink hue throughout the restaurant created a very gentle vibe as well. I'm not sure how else to describe the feeling of sitting in a giant oyster shell, but if you ever want to feel like you're a pearl, then here's the spot to be. The menu is one page & very straight forward which I appreciate. There are a few market price items, so make sure you check in with your waitress/waiter to see what the cost is if you're curious. I was really hoping to try the Squid Ink Tonnarelli but they were sold out for the day. A bit bummed, but it just means I get to come back again! We ordered a lot- The Big Shucker, Chicory Salad, a bowl of Tomato Soup, Focaccia Flatbread, Steak & Fries, and they even gave us a free Chocolate Budino for my birthday! The Big Shucker was such a fun & refreshing seafood tower. My two favorite bites from the tower were the Scallop Tartare and the Cold Prepared Mussels. I've never had mussels prepared like that before. It's almost like cold steamed mussels served with a sauce similar to a creamy gazpacho. I could have eaten a dozen of those! The kumquat in the Scallop Tartare was perfectly tart and had a nice hint of sweetness. I was also really happy with the cook on our steak. A lovely medium rare, a nice juicy steak, and surprisingly steak goes really well with ketchup I learned that night. The steak wasn't seasoned too heavily so my palette wasn't overwhelmed when I wanted to alternate between fresh seafood and cooked steak. There was also a housemade green sauce that I enjoyed so much I asked if I could buy a bottle. Sadly they don't sell them, guess I'll really have to indulge at my next visit! Just when I thought I couldn't eat another bite, our wonderful server, Merry, brought out the Chocolate Budino. Light in texture but rich in taste, it's almost like a whipped hot chocolate! When we were brought the check, I was really amused by the book cover check book. I really like when restaurants embrace some whimsy and upcycle items like that. read more
Little Shucker is a great happy hour! With $2 oysters & $10 drinks, the menu is much more worth it. The staff was very accommodating when we needed to add one more person to our reservation at the last minute. Also, they were very patient when we were taking a while to order. The chicory salad was very good, it came with a nice vinaigrette & a good amount of soft cheese. The scallop tartare was unique & oysters were very fresh The steak could've been a little more tender but the fries were very good. Would come back! read more
