The best catfish ever! This was my second time at Chef Butcher's Creole Kitchen. We went for dinner for the first time and got catfish and chicken jambalaya, both were spicy/hot but the catfish taste soo good. I'm not a big fan of spicy food but I have to say that I couldn't stop eating (and drinking water of course!) ; ) This time we went there for breakfast because I wanted to try french toast. (If you follow my profile, you'll see that I try to go for french toast all the time). It was great! I have to say that the batter was awesome, the bread was cut very thick but still soaked all the batter in, super moist! Crispy bacon also my favorite :D My husband got catfish again, I didn't want to try it at first because I don't like to switch from sweet to savory and back to sweet again, but he kept pushing me to try and I wanted to say that this is the best! I can have it everyday! The breading was super crispy, the fish didn't smell or taste any fishy at all, felt like I was eating chicken but lighter & healthier. And another best part about the restaurant is the meal is very affordable, we spent around $25 (excluding tips) ! We love the food and and Antoinette, she's the best! Her dad too! Will definitely go back there again and again!

soup like seafood jambalaya

I am only giving it 1 star due to no option to select 0. This place a 4.2 and yall & we were bamboozled! This place has such great reviews, which is why we chose to go, but the food was a huge disappointment. I've never seen soupy jambalaya before. Not seasoned. Tastes like it's sitting in tomato sauce. The Mac n cheese was dry and lacked love, flavor, and cheese.

The beignets are out of this world. So light and fluffy. Very delicious. I could eat a ton of them. I would lay a plate full on my stomach and go for it, Homer Simpson style. We were there at breakfast so they didn't have crawfish étouffée but after we plead our case they so graciously heated some for us. It was very good with a nice kick at a level 2. I do not recommend going above that in the spice factor. The grits here are amazing. I am so grit picky but let me tell you something this grits are delicious without any toppings. They was butter and creamy the perfect consistency. I wish I had some now!!!!!

Great for breakfast. The portions are nice size and the food is delicious. The staff was friendly and we were able to enjoy a working breakfast. Don't forget to the add the spice level to your meal.

Pretty loud and hard to hear, but that vibe is OK for a boil place to me. Only waited about 15 minutes. Two adults, two elementary kids. I like Lees of all the boil places because they have good options for non seafood people too. Both kids found wings, chicken fettuccini, etc. Started with the hushpuppies, about 12 smallish sized but a perfect starter for 4 people. Came with ketchup, I wish they would do a remoulade option. My wife and I split the duo (snow crab, shrimp) and I decided to add a LB of blue crab. Medium homemade juice sauce (always....it's sooo damn good). Snow crab was really good this time, snappy not bendy like some places. knuckles sweet and not overly briny. Perfectly cooked and came apart and out easily. Shrimp were just a tad overcooked but not much. Potatoes were perfect. We sub +1 tater for the egg. Corn is never good at these places. :) gotta do those fresh not frozen to get it right. The blue crab had good flavor. However, crazy overcooked which made getting meat out damn near impossible. Stringy instead of in chunks and stuck totally to the shell. I mostly gave up. My biggest complaint is they have ZERO typical utensils. No crackers/pickers/hammers/etc. I managed to cut myself trying to get into a snow crab large claw, and the lack of pickers made the blue crab impossible to eat. I'm bringing my own next time....serious. Finished with the fried oreos which were a perfect finish to the meal. 6 oreos for $6 was a great price.

Service was excellent! Server was on top of the drinks making sure everything was checked on…read more Ambiance is cute, it probably time for an update but cute for a seafood place. Food was good, my only complaint was the amount of sauce, they held back on the sauce I could've boughten the extra sauce but wasn't looking for it to be drenched, but looking for alittle more love in the boil, especially since it was a lot of food and I had to take some home and reheat it. Other than that a great place, nice people good food!

They have decorated the lounge area nicely for the holidays to give a warm feeling. My issue is with whoever was managing the kitchen that day. The event had chicken tenders and fries which were served for the kids, but they had run out. There was no sign that this option is for kids only, so unsurprisingly adults had taken these food items as well. Some of the kids do not eat anything else, so a few moms had asked if these items were going to be refilled. One of the staff members was really nice and said he would check, which then brought the chef out himself to say there were actually no more to be served, but he would fry a few for us. That was very kind of him, so we waited near the table for him. Ten minutes later we are approached by a man saying "sorry, no more food will be coming out." It had no context, so we said yes, we are aware, but a chef said he would bring a few out for us, to which he replied "listen, this was a freebie itself, there was only tenders for a 20 kid count... the buffet has already been discounted...it's in the contract... etc." I was like taken aback... 1) I'm not the host of the event, so I have no idea why a contract is being brought up to me who is just a guest attending, it was super unprofessional and unnecessary, 2) I did not demand any more food to be brought out, it was offered to us, and 3) I did not need this condescending attitude from this man, all he had to say is "I know the chef said he would make a few, but we are not able to offer more tenders." That right there would have been perfectly fine and that is no problem, because if you can't, you can't. He definitely put a negative vibe over something so simplistic just by the way of his attitude during a beautiful event. Shame!

The staff made us feel right at home and were very attentive. Our server, Sammy was very sweet and fun! My favorite touch was their pre-printed birthday menus. They definitely know how to make someone feel special. We ordered a bottle for the table to pair with our tapas. We tried the churassco, wine braised chorizo, and ordered a paella de marisco. The tapas portions are enough to have as a meal or 2 to be really stuffed. The paella portions are huge and are enough to serve about 2-3 people. I was pleasantly surprised how good the paella turned out since moving from Miami I have been very skeptical of any Latin or seafood in Columbus (sorry...) but the flavors were delicious!! They also gave us a free dessert for my boyfriend's birthday and it was also sooo delicious. I would definitely return, especially after finding out about their happy hour.
