Every time we head up to Carson City we have to stop in. The food and service is amazing. We love to sit at the bar and watch the action. It is so impressive read more

Disappointed!! Food extra greasy! Eggs ordered were not the way I ordered them. Toast was the wrong type than what was ordered. Waitress brings food and disappeared. Never saw again. Had to beg for a coffee refill and again to get a to-go box. Never asked about our meal or anything. VERY disappointing meal on top of a $46 breakfast for 2 people. Then CASH ONLY, come on, this is 2023! Won't be back!! There are much better places to eat breakfast!!! read more

Father's Day breakfast for four. They were very busy. It took us about 20 minutes to be seated. Their staff was friendly and professional. Service was really good. The meals were so tasty and nicely presented. We had French toast, Eggs Benedict crab cakes, and hash and eggs. We have always had good meals and service here. read more

Doesn't look like much at all, and looks really really small from the outside, but the food is GREAT! Really great selection and lots of food for the price. We got full so fast! Service was polite. Restaurant was very clean, and again the food was really good. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Cracker Box Restaurant - American Near Me - Carson City, Nevada

This was a last minute breakfast stop and we were very happy with our meal! It's cash only but they do have an ATM inside ($2 service fee) and the prices were very reasonable. The food was very good and portions were pretty large. Also some of the best diner coffee I've ever had! The place was very busy but we were still served promptly and didn't have to wait to get a seat. I ordered a special with Cajun sausage and eggs and would absolutely recommend that when it's on the menu! There was more I wanted to try so I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area! read more

Moved away from area 10 years ago. First time back at Cracker Box and did not disappoint as always. Food is always delicious, fast and all waitresses most willing to make sure our breakfast was as ordered. Relatives now live close by so we will be getting our fix more often. This place as been a 5 star for years and still is. You can't go wrong here read more

My family and I where passing through town looking for a good breakfast destination. Based on Yelp reviews we decided to stop by this place. The second you walk in your looking at the griddle full of eggs, potatoes, pancakes and you know this place is going to be good. Old school diner vibe. Service was great and the food was amazing. Pancakes were on point and if you are looking for a good patty melt I highly recommend it. Cash only, but good for them! read more

Gayle and I had Lunch here today. Cracker Box reminded me of a cross between small town Iowa (where I grew up) breakfast joint and an East Coast Diner. That usually means (which it did here) an expansive breakfast and lunch menu, a no-nonsense dining room (with a counter option), local patrons, generous portions, fair prices, and efficient and friendly/folksy service. Other Useful Information: - They're open from 6 AM - 2 PM. - Cracker Box does not serve alcohol. - They only accept cash or checks (there's an ATM near the rest rooms), - It's best to bring the check directly to the cash register. Gayle loves "breakfast for dinner" options and chose a very tasty Cajun and eggs combination. She was also pleased to find that the coffee was really good. I went for the soup (jambalaya), sandwich (grilled cheese), and lemonade combination which was excellent. We'll definitely be back as we haven't even scratched this menu. And besides, who doesn't like well prepared and presented delicious comfort food in a local setting? read more

The ambiance was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was packed, and everyone was smiling and enjoying their meals with their friends and family. I immediately got a warm fuzzy feeling walking into the restaurant. The service was outstanding!!!!!!! The staff were friendly. The staff was practically running to serve the customers in a timely manner. The staff preparing the food was working smoothly together like a well oiled machine. In short, the food was AMAZING!!!'n they also have huge portions. The next time I visit Lake Tahoe or Carson City, I will definitely be back. read more

The food is good. service is good. The Joint only takes cash ?.. what for?, to hide taxes ? sounds fishy. Only place on the planet that doesn't accept credit cards. If it's summer, go somewhere else, NO AIRCONDITIONING HERE.... Owner seems to be a tight wad..... read more

I'm not sure where I'm at with this place... the food was really good and the breakfast burger patty with grilled onions and cheddar was amazing. I added avocado and skipped the carbs for cottage cheese, but the food was on point. I met a friend here and although they weren't busy, they wouldn't seat me. I stood by the cold door for a few minutes and finally asked if I could at least get some hot coffee, since it was pretty chilly that morning... they did finally seat me, there were plenty of tables open. Cash only, so come prepared or pay a fee at their atm. I'd go there again, but would hope for better service. read more

Love this restaurant. Not that big of a place and usually packed on the last several visits. Breakfast is the bomb-diggity. Home made corned beef hash looked delicious. Best French toast in the area and really good home fries too. Coffee is strong but you can get all the sweetness you need. read more

1st know this place only takes cash or check!!! They do have an ATM that charges $2 which was fine for us. I was out here on a business trip and found this place on yelp. Best suggestion ever!!! Cute old diner with traditional diner foods along with their almost famous spuds! I also couldn't believe how inexpensive this place was as well. I went with the 2 eggs meal which includes eggs the way you like them, toast, and spuds. I substituted the toast for a pancake and I'm thrilled I did! First off I asked for crispy potatoes and I got exactly that. They were perfect! Along with the tomatoes and green onions. Never had them like that and they were so freakin delicious I also never finish my pancake when I order it. I usually just get it to separate the savory. I annihilated it lol Friend had eggs with linguica potatoes and a piece of French toast. Her single French toast piece was massive and they give you two pieces of sausage. She killed her plate too! We both walked out with food comas lol read more

Cracker Box Restaurant - Scrambled eggs famous spuds and pancake - American Near Me - Carson City, Nevada

We ordered chicken sandwich, ham and eggs and their Jerry special. Everything is good. They even gave me free eggs on the side since then kinda messed up the yolk on the other one. The spuds is a bit greasy but it tastes good. Their house lemonade is a tad sweeter than other lemonades but still good. We were just visiting for a weekend and glad we stopped by before heading back to LA. read more

Food was great, service was fantastic however the line cook has severe anger issues. He was clearly flustered by the number of tickets and was taking it out on the wait staff and his prep cook. He was verbally abusive towards her and on at least 4 occasions I watched him intentionally bump into her. They were working in close quarters but it was very obvious that it wasn't an accidental bump. Management needs to take action before someone gets hurt. read more

Foods mediocre at best not a lot of options honestly cash or check only which is just weird in 2023 and a 25 min wait after you order for your food with a half filled restaurant at 11:30 really small place as well disappointed to say the least won't be back the menu is very very wrong and misleading make sure to double check with server so you know what is actually in it honestly some of these reviews I've read on this place blow my mind the price of food for what you get is perplexing it's NOT WORTH IT at all red huts down the street go thier it's cheaper and got better everything don't know how it got 4 stars read more

Great food. I loved the real chicken fried steak. The potatoes are top-notch. Small place not too long of a wait on busy days

I love this little place. Nothing fancy here, just great food. I needed breakfast early, and The Cracker Box opens at 6 am. I sat at the counter right in front of the flat top. Very attentive, and friendly staff... talked to the cook while I had great coffee. If your looking for perfect, fancy, decked out restaurant, go somewhere else. If you want just good, fresh, great tasting food, come here. Reminds me of a home town diner, where everyone knows you, except they don't know me. read more

Time and time again Cracker box delivers, great service, tasty homestyle food and they get you in and out all without breaking the bank. One of the great features is the changing Special menu. From the rotating mouthwatering pancake selection, to multiple styles of Benedicts to even Loco Moco. Each visit is a unique treat or a stroll down memory lane with all the classics. Side note if you get there early you can watch some epic sunrises in the dining area. read more

Can't remember the last time I had a meal at this Carson City icon but let's just say it has been awhile. Got to say I have to make it more frequent. The service was prompt and delightful. Went to breakfast here. Excellent! It's a small place. Cash or check only. Great breakfast goo menu.

Food was great! Service was friendly and my coffee was always warm. This is a classic dinner that has been around forever, a must stop!

Wow!! Who would have thought this little restaurant would have such big taste! I ordered the 2 stack blueberry flats jacks and a side of bacon. Wow these pancakes are HUGE with Big juicy blueberries, and i get 6 big slices of bacon to boot!! If your looking for some home cooked meals with decent prices? Cracker Box is definitely a place you have got to try!!! You can count on me eating there again the next time I'm in Carson City read more

We sat at the counter as this place was packed....the cook was hustling and amazingly overseeing all the orders. They are very generous in the portions but a bit too greasy for my taste. The thing that really bothered me and why I couldn't really eat was because the lady making the sandwiches and helping the cook was handing raw meats, bread, lettuce and other veggies and only using a dirty towel to wipe her hands in between. It was a big turn off for me. read more

We came here a little after 10am on a Saturday. It was busy but there was no wait and we had a seat at the counter so we could watch them cook. The kitchen operates like a well oiled machine and it is really cool to see them pull all the yummy creations together. We each ordered off the daily special menu My wife ordered the beef stroganoff omelette while I ordered the grilled meatloaf sandwich. They also have a nice selection of regular breakfast and lunch items. We watched as they created our meals which were delivered in a timely fashion. They both looked and tasted amazing. Who would have thought to put beef stroganoff in an omelette but it was amazing. And the stretchy, stringy cheeses on the meatloaf sandwich were delicious. Great service, great food, decent prices! read more

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I believe I got the joes special, and it hit the spot. Will be back next time in Carson city

First time customer and I can't wait to go back! So good that I am taking time to write this review. Great customer service and delicious food, great way to start the day.
