This is the kind of spot you'd never find if not for Yelp. My husband was in the neighborhood and just happened to look for a great burger on Yelp. We had the bacon jam burger and it was great!
This spot never misses. I love burgers and somehow this place feels like I'm dining for the first time each time as the burger is always as good as I remember (if not better) and I don't get tired of ordering the bacon jam over and over again lol. The owner usually is the one cooking the burgers as I've experienced in the past on the outside grill. It's connected to a golf course too if that's a hobby you enjoy. Service fast and price reasonable for one of the best burgers in SoCal if not worldwide. Lots of golf art and some merch to buy like golf balls in the connected store
Went to Long Beach on a nice Sunday afternoon. Was looking for a unique place to eat in the area. The one that stuck out is Crack! It's located at the Golf Course in a nice and secluded area with a balcony for dogs if you got one. They had full pictures of their entire menu, we ended up getting their Lovers special, split of the top two burgers in half: one with a bacon jam and one more of a classic bacon cheese lettuce style. They made it on a charbroiled grill right next to us. Got sides of pineapple cole slaw and chicken bean soup. Everything was quality and fresh, better than manybof the other options nearby that I've already eaten out at. For a good burger joint and a nice place to relax for a bit, try out Crack! I'll be back eventually.
This burger joint is directly connected to the Bixby Village golf course. Their menu is very simple and has mostly burgers. They'll ask you if you want a side but they're actually $3 each so be mindful of that. They also come in a small plastic almost Costco size sample cup, wish the portions were a bit bigger since it's an additional add to the meal. They specialize in the bacon jam burgers, they make each burger on the outdoor grill so it takes longer for them to make. For the price point of $15-$16 per burger, I would've expected it to be much larger in size. You also order at the counter, and the tab doesn't get closed till later which is a bit odd and confusing on whose order gets out first if you are ordering in a larger groups.
WOW! This place is easily the best all-around. Everything we tried was phenomenal: the burgers (the "Dirty" is a must-try), the corn on the cob, the coleslaw, and the tri-tip tacos. The root beer on tap was an amazing bonus, and the sweet touch of cookies on our way out made it extra special. Exceptional service from start to finish!
I've been going around town looking for the best burgers. Crack is located right off the golf course and you make your order at the small restaurant at the pro shop. I ordered the Ortega and the Bacon Jam. I went to the patio to chill at the tables and look at the golf course while they go my burgers going on the flat top. I got my food in less than 10 minutes. The Ortega was flavorful, but the Bacon Jam got me. I'll be ordering this one next time I'm in the area. To compliment my burger, I got a potato salad. On the small side, but it's solid too.
Often a friend and I go on a quest for a great burger, usually based on a tip or word of mouth. Crack does indeed have a great burger. For our first visit we just went with the Dirty Burger which was awesome. If you want a more traditional burger with lettuce and tomato be sure to ask which one that is, the guys running this place will go out of their way to please you, they are great. I really liked the laid back and relaxing vibe of the outside patio over looking the golf course. The burger is cooked outside on a grill right in front of you. You are free to talk to the cook while he does his thing. The whole setup is kind of like a home style grill party. The burger features a very tasty beef patty, possibly a lean chuck, but plenty juicy without being messy. The patty extends beyond the bun and is not a paper thin massacre like other smash style burgers. While I'm a fan of a perfectly cooked thick burger, this burger passed the test of taste, texture and size. The bun was decent, and held up well through the entire devouring process. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Why didn't we make it over here sooner? My husband and daughter came for lunch today and I am still thinking about these flavors. Seriously one of the best burgers I've had but the real delight here is the other treats. Corn off the cob with some sort of fiendish seasoning that makes it creamy buttery and tangy all at once, potato salad that is definitely not your Grandmas and has loads of flavor, a red cabbage slaw that made me ask what delightful taste that was (hint basil and ginger pops here and there), and finished with cookies that were hot from the oven. Did I mention fresh root beer from a draft tap? The service was great too but run here for the flavors. Not one miss on today's menu for sure! Can't wait to go back soon and try the tacos.
Started with the corn salad, which was fresh and had a great thousand island type of dressing. The white bean chicken chili was hardy, warm and delicious. The downside is they came in these very small containers, and it was a little awkward to eat. Tried the Dirty and Bacon Jam burger; the flavor profiles were very similar and tasted the same. Tried the beef on its own and it didn't have much seasoning. The flavor was fair and okay. Ordered the root beer on tap; it was okay, felt like it could have had a stronger licorice taste. However, that might not be the restaurant's fault. The service was amazing! They were friendly and gave us a little cookie at the end of our meal. The parking lot is small, but we managed to find parking quickly on a sunday afternoon. Small cozy restaurant.
My coworker turned heads at work today when he said he wanted a Crack Burger, so we decided to stop by for lunch on a weekday. This place serves really amazing smash burgers that were incredibly delicious. Location: This green-and-white burger stop is located right between the golf courses at Bixby Village. It does not have large signage and is independently owned. Parking: Free parking is available in the lot next to the restaurant. The lot is a bit uneven and bumpy in some areas. Service: The staff were very friendly to our group, especially when we walked in looking a bit confused because of the lack of signage outside. They explained the menu, gave recommendations, and made our food right away. We got to enjoy the nice patio view of the golf course, with the smell of patties searing on the grill wafting through the air. Food: Amazing! We tried three burgers as a combo: The Dirty, Bacon Jam, and Ortega. Each burger was cooked outside on their patio grill overlooking the golf course and came out super juicy and flavorful. The Bacon Jam was a fan favorite. The lettuce paired really well with the smash burger and sauces. We also tried the white bean chili and macaroni salad. While those were good, the burgers were definitely the main highlight. They also have excellent root beer on tap, poured into chilled glasses. Overall: I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area and want a burger that goes beyond typical fast food. It is a great spot with a nice view, quality food, and a very creative name.
It was a cool place right up, until the end. The person I'm assuming is the owner actually asked us to wait before placing our order because he was slammed. Understandable. So then, another guy took our order and also cooked the food. When we ordered, we didn't get any drinks, but he told us we could help ourselves to the fridge. I'm assuming because they were older, the soda can we had actually still had a Halloween ad on it and were in the month of December. We ended up not drinking anything but still had the can with us and when were ready to pay and leave. At checkout, the owner pointed out that we had a can. The guy ringing us up just stood there next to us without saying anything, so I tried to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the owner seemed to assume we were trying to steal and had already processed it, and he wasn't really listening as I was explaining what happened. The food itself was good, above average. I can see why they don't serve fries, since they'd probably take away from the burger experience. I recommend getting sliders so you can enjoy and separate the savory and sweet sauces. But it wasn't worth the price. Overall, not terrible, but that interaction left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't be going back. I've never felt that embarrassed, especially with him not hearing me out and just clicking away on the tablet. Felt super inferior and stupid. And just a heads up, the tip defaults to 20% so be weary of that.
Talk about finding a hidden treasure inside the Bixby Estates. If you are looking for great food with a relaxing atmosphere that is dog friendly, and overlooking the golf club estates, then Crack burger is the spot. The owner David was the funniest, and helped guided us through his menu. He even went out of his way to make a few things that weren't on the menu for that day. We ended up getting the dirty and bacon jam burger, with crispy potato salad, pineapple coleslaw, and elote grilled corn on the cob with free banana pudding!!!! Delicious Food, Top tier Service with a relaxing atmosphere will definitely be my go to when I'm in the area.
Crack Burger in Long Beach is the definition of a neighborhood gem, and after coming here 4 times now I can confidently say it's a consistent 5 star experience. A huge part of that is the owner Dave. Straight up stand up guy. He genuinely treats people with kindness and it shows every single visit. The first time I came with my girl he gave us root beer floats on the house. The second time he noticed my girl was cold and brought her a blanket plus hooked us up with some white bean chili also on the house. When I came with my dad Dave blessed us with a free brownies, and same thing when I came with my friend. That's not normal customer service anymore that's real hospitality. 10/10 on service every time and shoutout to Dave for always showing love to the people he's serving. The spot itself is super chill and laid back right on the golf course. You can eat inside but the patio is where it's at. Sitting outside watching the greens while you eat is such a vibe especially on a nice day. Now the food. You honestly can't go wrong with any burger here. I've had a few different ones and they've all been really good, it just depends on what you're in the mood for. Today I went with the Ortega and it hit the spot. I paired it with the potato salad and the white bean chili. Both were good, but that white bean chili is GREAT especially when it's cold out. Add a lager with it and it's the perfect afternoon meal. No complaints at all. If you haven't tried Crack Burger yet do yourself a favor and go. You'll leave happy and you'll probably be planning your next visit before you even finish your food.
I've been wanting to try this burger place for a while after hearing good things about it online. It's located at the golf course and it was easy to find with plenty of parking. The menu was small and I thought it was weird they didn't offer French fries. I decided to order the bacon jam burger as it seems like the most popular burger from the menu. It was a long wait after I placed my order though. But it was worth the wait as the burger was really good. It was a smash burger so you can taste the extra flavor and juice. The bacon jam went really with the burger. Overall, this was probably the best burger I've had in my life and I can't wait to come back! read more
On our Halloween Disney trip of 2023 my main side chick introduced me to Crack...let me tell you Yelp-stars, this Crack was better than all other terrible habits I've ever had! When we arrived I wasn't sure if we were rolling into a Caddy Shack or a Crack den. Crack is located inside a shack that's within the Bixby Village Golf Course and so I dubbed it un originally the "Crack Shack." Crack not only had one of the best smash burgers I've ever had, they had amazing tasting white bean chili and apple pie baked beans! Good thing I don't live around the LBC or I'd be LAPDs biggest Crack feen around!!! Don't take this Crack heads word...go score some Crack and see the difference yourself. read more

A hidden secret in Long Beach! It's located At Bixby village golf course. If you aren't looking super closely you might miss it! Parking was pretty easy. There is no takeout so be prepared to sit down. The owner greeted us and took our order right away and gave some suggestions on what to try. It was our friends second time and our first time coming here with her hubby. Me and my friend ordered the Bacon Jam burger and our hubbies ordered the Ortega burger. Each burger cost $14. I ordered the pineapple slaw( excellent side dish ) and everyone else for chips for their sides( I'm not sure how much the sides were). The sides change at time and they will let you know what is new. We also ordered Sauvignon Blanc to drink and my hubby got a blonde beer on tap. As we were sitting waiting for our food we were persuaded to get some buffalo wings lol so we got the Asian and Buffalo and were even given a sample of white chicken chili. The burgers are made fresh and so there was a bit of a wait but everything was delicious. The bacon jam was the perfect amount of sweet and the hubby thought the Ortega burger was delicious although he would have liked it to be a bit more spicy and a little less sweet. The wings were good but I would definitely come back for another burger. We sat outside and Off the golf course and we had a great view outside. We were looking for a place nearby that sold good smash burgers. We looked and found Crack!! The photos of the food looked great so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a dirty and bacon jam burger cut in half so we could try each one. We also ordered the white bean chili and elote potatoe salad. It was all mouth watering. The burgers were juicy. The bacon was spot on between sweetness and saltiness. The white bean chili, which was recommened by the owner was great. The spice flavor was on point. It was great comfort food. The elote potato salad was good. We also tried the macaroni salad and it was good as well. Service was fast and friendly. The owner was great and going from table to table to make sure all the customers were good and enjoying the food. We will be coming back! read more
After seeing many MANY rave reviews on social media I added this place to my "try" list a while back. My family decided to check it out last week to see what the hype was about. I have one word: underwhelmed. We went in with high hopes. The burger was ok, not bad by any means, but not spectacular or out of this world as people were making it seem. All 4 of us shared the same sentiment. They were steep too, costing $14 each with NO side included. Unfortunately, this burger just wasn't it for us. We'll stick to In-N-Out where we can get an entire meal including a double double burger, fries and a drink plus a shake for the cost of just 1 burger at this place. read more

The food ... excellent.. service ... also excellent. I wish we lived closer and could come more often but we will absolutely be back. From the ice cold root beer on tap to the amazingly good burger that didn't really need a side but that white chicken chili was chefs kiss. The owner was great we came in about half hour before closing and still treated us great. Not to mention the little cookie at the end. The food and ambiance made you feel like you were at a friends house for a cookout ! Oh and the pastrami tacos were outstanding !! read more

Laid back and "simple" establishment. Smells wonderful! I could smell the burgers from the 3rd hole. When driving into the parking lot there is a sign stating best bacon jam burger. Hence that was my choice of burger. They are all smash burgers with different toppings. The bacon jam burger was delicious and was very filling and perfect jam to bun to meat ratio. They have different sides dependent on the week or day so they state on the monitor when you come in to ask about the sides available. Very humble and simple service. I payed $17 for a burger and a can of coke, which I guess nowadays is decent. I will definitely come back again! read more

The hubby and I were out on a Sunday cruise and I wanted to eat somewhere different than our usual spots. I yelped burgers and CRACK was the first place to pop up. I'm glad there were pictures of this place. I may have driven past it, if not. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by a friendly and helpful guy. It's a pretty laid back place. I don't know what you would call it...the golf clubhouse?? Once we found a place to sit, the same person who greeted us came and took our order. Turns out, he's the owner and a pretty chill guy. We got the Ortega burger (and split it), white bean/chicken chili. The burger was flavorful, not spicy at all. We got a root beer float for dessert...the same size as the side of chili was. I'm glad it wasn't any bigger because we were stuffed! We'll definitely be back, can't wait to try the other burgers. read more

After hearing rave reviews about Crack's burgers, I knew I had to check it out. It's located in the clubhouse of a golf course and is very unassuming. Since it was my first time, I had to try the OG bacon jam burger. The owner was right-- it was definitely one of the best burgers I've had. The patty is flavorful and tender. The bacon jam adds a delightful sweetness to each bite. We also got a side of fries and they were fried to perfection. It was a heavy, but delicious meal. read more

This is my second time here, and I brought a friend along. The burgers are just as juicy as before, and the special sauce is super unique and addictive. The handmade sides, made with the owner's special touch, are really creative and make the burger even better. The sides change often, so it's always fun to see what's new. My friend loved it too and said if it was a bit cheaper, they'd definitely want to grab another burger. The owner and staff are awesome, and I can't wait to come back. After the meal, we had handmade cookies, and even though I'm not usually a fan of sweets, they were incredibly delicious. 5 stars aren't enough to give praise to this spot. Affordable food, nice cute outside dining area overlooking a golf course, and hospitable staff that cook the burgers in front of you almost like you're at the family bbq. Service is quick the view is nice and the owner is very accommodating, we couldn't decide on a side so he offered us a 1/2 and 1/2. It's the little things highkey. This place is insanely good. Anyone who loves a smash burger will go nuts for this little hidden gem. The owner is amazing and everything is made fresh pretty much right in front of you. They literally make the patties after you order them. The homemade bacon jam on the burgers is to die for. And the sides are always drool worthy. We happened to find this hidden gem thanks to Yelp! If you like smash burgers this is the place! The owner was so cool & made you feel like you were sitting in your back yard BBQ! We chose to sit on the patio because there was a lovely breeze and shaded area. We ordered the salad with Smashburger. He gave us a sample of his white bean chili, it was amazing. Topped off by a free mini root beer with vanilla bean ice cream float so delightful! Everything was spectacular, I can't believe there was not a line out the door. Who doesn't like eating smash burgers with a view of a golf course? Crack is located on the Bixby Village Golf Course and is pretty hidden on the side of the road. When arriving, you don't know where the restaurant is because there are no signs, but there's only one building, so it's a given! Owner Dave greeted me and showed me the menu on the TV screen! I had to go with their most popular burger, the Bacon Jam Burger. Oh boy, I scarfed the burger real fast; it literally melted in my mouth. Dave also checked up on all the other customers and me. He also serves root beer on draft, white bean chili, and dessert, which is always a plus. This is a great place for a bite to eat! They are known for their burgers but don't sleep on the white bean chicken chili or the corn salad! They don't have fries so these are are sides that you can get with your burger and they are soooo good! He also has a coleslaw that's wonderfully refreshing. There's even food for non- meat eaters like the Ortega burger with cheese. It's located on a golf course so Yeah, and I went on one of their less busy days and got spoiled by Dave, who made the experience so nice. These burgers taste like home made burgers that you just can't get at any burger stand or restaurant. I had The Dirty with double Ortega cheese and extra crispy bun. Delicious!! read more

Absolutely incredible burger. I got the bacon jam burger and it was my first time trying bacon jam. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The patty was thin enough, and went well with the sauce and bun. My only comment is the patty was a little dry. Otherwise, nice burger, good service, and beautiful view! read more

Best burger I've ever had, and burgers are my favorite food. We got the Ortega and the dirty, with a side of pineapple slaw. To drink we got a root beer and a cranberry pineapple lemonade. The food here is soo good!! Stopped by because we saw what amazing reviews they had. Dave is awesome at his craft and you can tell in his food from his special bacon jam and selection of sides. Be sure to ask what he's got not on the menu. Service was amazing from everyone there and they pretty much ordered for us. We liked everything they gave us! Love the non traditional sides rather than fries. Ambiance is lovely sitting outside with a view of the gold course. 10/10! read more

Such a great dive-burger spot and hidden gem. I was craving some smash burgers and so glad this spot popped up on our Yelp feed! Definitely a local spot, nestled right next to a golf course so it's a little off the grid but don't sleep on this spot. Their food is flavorful and delicious. The Bacon Jam burger is a must! Not as sweet as I thought it would be. It's the perfect ratio jam to patty. Ordered some "3 Year Olds" for our kids. Great option kid friendly option bc it's very straightforward, just burger patty & cheese. They grill to order, and everything came out at a reasonable time. I do wish they had a double patty option. I'm sure the owner would have obliged had we asked but I definitely think "a double patty" item is missing from the menu. It would have also been nice to order some fries or some kind of side. They have mac salad and a chicken chili but the portions were remarkably small. Legit came out in sample cups. All in all great food! The owner was so friendly and welcoming. Great service. Definitely quaint. There weren't that many tables or chairs indoors but they do have more seating outdoors. Excited to stop by again! read more

It's got a canvas awning and heater if necessary! I also has 5 tables for seating for 4! Plus stools at the fencing that looks out to the Golf Greens! The tables can be moved together for larger parties!

Ok so I have been hearing a lot about this place and their burgers? Granted i haven't been there before covid, but so much hype already and the fact it's not cooked in a traditional kitchen or truck I think adds to the charm! Burgers that good?
