Despite how simple the food might look, everything was intentional, flavorful, fresh, and delicious! The shrimp and melon salad was a personal favorite - enjoying it outside on a beautiful day, it felt as if I was on a summer vacation in Europe. If we're ever back in town, we would love to try their handmade pasta and pizzas. The only downside is that parking is a little tricky in this area, so come a little earlier than your reservation time. But overall, we were happy with the food, service, and ambience. Thank you, Ellie's!

Came here with 2 other friends for a (late) Saturday lunch and we were seated immediately! We opted…read moreto sit outside in the patio area as the server said indoor seating was warmer, which was nicely shaded with umbrellas and a cool breeze. The only thing was that flies kept bothering us (my goodness were they hungry), but the waiter graciously gave us a spinning fly deterrent fan (which somewhat worked)... I suppose that's to be expected when you sit outside. We ordered 6 oysters to share ($5.50 each with 6 minimum oyster order) and the tagliatelle for each of us. The oysters were delicious and paired well with the provided seasonings. The tagliatelle was creamy and savory with the shrimp and scallops, but I was expecting the pork ragu and bone marrow butter to shine more in the dish- couldn't really taste them. Service was standard, parking is on the street but was not difficult to find. Overall this was a cute corner brunch/lunch spot

I've been here before but never knew that they had happy hour. Well, it's a good thing that I know…read moreabout it now. Last visit we've been was for brunch and it was good. Booth the food and drinks were nice. This visit, we stopped by in the afternoon just as happy hour was starting. There was a good amount of people already inside which could be that in between lunch rush and beginning of happy hour. Getting a table was a cinch as we were seating right away on the patio. It is pet friendly which is also nice. Layout of the restaurant is, majority of the seating is outdoor which is covered. There's the dining area inside the restaurant which is pretty small, another patio to the side of that as well as the private room to the side for more of an intimate experience. Mainly the front patio and bar area tends to be the busiest. Staff were all amazing and friendly which is a major plus. Nobody wants to come an establishment where service is snooty and rude. Everyone was a major doll and the sweetest. Our waiter, I didn't get his name was the sweetest. As it was HH, they only had that menu available. Limited but still decent for what was offered. A good selection in cocktails items and for the price, they were great. As for food, same with limited items but pricing was great. They're known for the Mac and cheese with hot Cheetos as pretty much loads of the tables had ordered it. We've had it prior but this time opted out on it. Started off with one of their sangria which comes either red or white and an old fashioned. Both on the HH menu and very reasonable for 7.00 a pop. Cant beat that. Sangria was quite refreshing with the fruit slices while the old fashioned, it was strong. Actually worth it for 7.00. Food, a mixture of things to share. An order of their fries with parsley and rosemary with an aioli sauce for dipping, 8.00. The braised cheddar brat with house mustard, caramelized onions, Calabrian chili with basil and shallot for 11.00. Quite tasty and flavorful with all the topping and served in a nice roll. The chicken sandwich which was quite big. Fried chicken with cheddar and American cheese, chef sauce, pickles on a benne seed bun for 11.00. And lastly the attic cheeseburger with new school American cheese, pickles, grilled onion aioli, caramelized onions on a benne seed bun cooked medium for 12.00. It was tasty but between that and the chicken sandwich, chicken takes the leads. Pricewise for the sandwiches was great. Everything is à la carte on the menu. They do have other main dishes but we just stuck to the sandwiches. Also a second round of drinks was had. The mango margaritas and the classic. Both tasty and for 7.00 a pop, can't beat that. The whole experience was great. Service was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Patio seating is great as it's perfect for people watching and enjoying the outdoor. Until next time.

The entry way is low key and if you were in a hurry, you just might walk right past this local gem…read more The inside ambiance is equally low key and casual, with a beach laid back style that belies a good bbq place. The pulled pork is the main attraction, followed by the brisket and tri tip. The cabbage slaw features a red cabbage or white cabbage version. It's presented drier, crunchier and was quite tasty. It is a refreshing departure from the watery soggy slaw found in so many other places. Decent street parking availability. Since we had the pulled pork (South Carolina style) on an earlier visit last month, we ordered the tri tip plate, the tri tip sandwich and the house burger respectively and we really enjoyed each item. The meat was juicy without being smothered by the sauce. The egg bread toast that came with the plate was just right -- slightly crunchy on the edges but soft in the middle and was seasoned with a garlic butter. Heavenly. Prices were reasonable and the portions were ample. The server was wonderful --- polite, helpful and efficient, mixed with a casual beach vibe but did not miss a beat. This adult beverages featured some wines that paired well with the menu items while the list of beers was sufficient and comfortably priced. A good neighborhood gem and recommended with no hesitation. We will be back.

We came all the way from Santa Clarita and we're not disappointed. Past all the namebrand places by the aquarium and came here and we're not disappointed. I had the work burger, which has fried portobello mushrooms. Others in our group had grilled cheese and poutine burger, and Italian burger and the hotdog and the breakfast burritos. No one was disappointed actually, we were surprisingly pleased with our selections. Sleeper items are the fried cheese curds by themselves. Make sure you get these. Also the onion rings are batter dipped. And beyond delicious! Only bummer is the drinks are cans, so if you need more than one drink, be prepared to pay for each can. The food was super delicious!!

It was really loud during our visit. I'm not sure if it's always that lively on Friday nights, but it was the weekend of Warped Tour, so there was a lot of music and energy. If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

They probably wait a while if they can tell you're reading the menu, which is what I was doing, but after ordering, it felt like our food took twenty minutes to get to us. I got the cinnamon banana french toast. Fluffy, light, and deeply satisfying. They caramelize the bananas in brown sugar so it's rich and flavorful, and they give a generous amount of syrup. I was so happy with my meal, I really wanted to bring it back with me because I was full after eating three of the five slices, but our server took my plate without asking if I wanted a box!!! Dear Team at The Ordinarie Tavern,…read more The Ordinarie has officially become one of our favorite places! We love it so much that we cannot wait to bring more of our friends and family. During our visit, we wanted to try everything on the menu. The presentation was very nice, the food and the cocktails was delicious, the portions were just right and the prices were reasonable. Booking a reservation was super easy. I reserved a patio table for 6 guests at 6:30pm on a Friday night in the middle of summer! I had been to this bar a few years ago for their Christmas holiday pop up and had a great time so I…read morewas happy to see there was a Halloween pop up and brought a friend along. Five stars for atmosphere except the fact that they kept the front door open, which let the heat in and, since it was during the day, let daylight in, which kind of destroyed the mood. We tried to change our seat but they have a strange strict policy about not moving tables and specifically assigning certain tables to certain parties. And because this is a popular pop up, there weren't any open seats at the bar which is very immersive and very heavily decorated. We didn't have the best experience with the server that we asked about switching our table, but fortunately that was not our server and we were glad to be at our table because we absolutely loved our server, Cindy. She had great energy and was very responsive to our questions and needs. It was a delight every time she came to our table. And we loved that she and the other servers were dressed up in costume for Halloween even though it was the beginning of October. Every cocktail is themed and comes in its own themed glassware, although you're not allowed to switch up which drink is in which glass. I enjoyed the Tangled Web cocktail in the spider web coupe and the Liquid Lobotomy Tiki style cocktail in the creepy doll head mug. There weren't a lot of gluten-free options for lunch, so I got the Caesar salad without croutons and added salmon. The salad was fine but the salmon was overcooked (I asked for medium rare and it was medium or a bit more than that). But good to have something in my stomach for those cocktails.
