Went to Long Beach on a nice Sunday afternoon. Was looking for a unique place to eat in the area. The one that stuck out is Crack! It's located at the Golf Course in a nice and secluded area with a balcony for dogs if you got one. They had full pictures of their entire menu, we ended up getting their Lovers special, split of the top two burgers in half: one with a bacon jam and one more of a classic bacon cheese lettuce style. They made it on a charbroiled grill right next to us. Got sides of pineapple cole slaw and chicken bean soup. Everything was quality and fresh, better than manybof the other options nearby that I've already eaten out at. For a good burger joint and a nice place to relax for a bit, try out Crack! I'll be back eventually.

This spot never misses. I love burgers and somehow this place feels like I'm dining for the first time each time as the burger is always as good as I remember (if not better) and I don't get tired of ordering the bacon jam over and over again lol. The owner usually is the one cooking the burgers as I've experienced in the past on the outside grill. It's connected to a golf course too if that's a hobby you enjoy. Service fast and price reasonable for one of the best burgers in SoCal if not worldwide. Lots of golf art and some merch to buy like golf balls in the connected store

This burger joint is directly connected to the Bixby Village golf course. Their menu is very simple and has mostly burgers. They'll ask you if you want a side but they're actually $3 each so be mindful of that. They also come in a small plastic almost Costco size sample cup, wish the portions were a bit bigger since it's an additional add to the meal. They specialize in the bacon jam burgers, they make each burger on the outdoor grill so it takes longer for them to make. For the price point of $15-$16 per burger, I would've expected it to be much larger in size. You also order at the counter, and the tab doesn't get closed till later which is a bit odd and confusing on whose order gets out first if you are ordering in a larger groups.

I've been going around town looking for the best burgers. Crack is located right off the golf course and you make your order at the small restaurant at the pro shop. I ordered the Ortega and the Bacon Jam. I went to the patio to chill at the tables and look at the golf course while they go my burgers going on the flat top. I got my food in less than 10 minutes. The Ortega was flavorful, but the Bacon Jam got me. I'll be ordering this one next time I'm in the area. To compliment my burger, I got a potato salad. On the small side, but it's solid too.

Started with the corn salad, which was fresh and had a great thousand island type of dressing. The white bean chicken chili was hardy, warm and delicious. The downside is they came in these very small containers, and it was a little awkward to eat. Tried the Dirty and Bacon Jam burger; the flavor profiles were very similar and tasted the same. Tried the beef on its own and it didn't have much seasoning. The flavor was fair and okay. Ordered the root beer on tap; it was okay, felt like it could have had a stronger licorice taste. However, that might not be the restaurant's fault. The service was amazing! They were friendly and gave us a little cookie at the end of our meal. The parking lot is small, but we managed to find parking quickly on a sunday afternoon. Small cozy restaurant.

My coworker turned heads at work today when he said he wanted a Crack Burger, so we decided to stop by for lunch on a weekday. This place serves really amazing smash burgers that were incredibly delicious. Location: This green-and-white burger stop is located right between the golf courses at Bixby Village. It does not have large signage and is independently owned. Parking: Free parking is available in the lot next to the restaurant. The lot is a bit uneven and bumpy in some areas. Service: The staff were very friendly to our group, especially when we walked in looking a bit confused because of the lack of signage outside. They explained the menu, gave recommendations, and made our food right away. We got to enjoy the nice patio view of the golf course, with the smell of patties searing on the grill wafting through the air. Food: Amazing! We tried three burgers as a combo: The Dirty, Bacon Jam, and Ortega. Each burger was cooked outside on their patio grill overlooking the golf course and came out super juicy and flavorful. The Bacon Jam was a fan favorite. The lettuce paired really well with the smash burger and sauces. We also tried the white bean chili and macaroni salad. While those were good, the burgers were definitely the main highlight. They also have excellent root beer on tap, poured into chilled glasses. Overall: I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area and want a burger that goes beyond typical fast food. It is a great spot with a nice view, quality food, and a very creative name.

It was a cool place right up, until the end. The person I'm assuming is the owner actually asked us to wait before placing our order because he was slammed. Understandable. So then, another guy took our order and also cooked the food. When we ordered, we didn't get any drinks, but he told us we could help ourselves to the fridge. I'm assuming because they were older, the soda can we had actually still had a Halloween ad on it and were in the month of December. We ended up not drinking anything but still had the can with us and when were ready to pay and leave. At checkout, the owner pointed out that we had a can. The guy ringing us up just stood there next to us without saying anything, so I tried to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the owner seemed to assume we were trying to steal and had already processed it, and he wasn't really listening as I was explaining what happened. The food itself was good, above average. I can see why they don't serve fries, since they'd probably take away from the burger experience. I recommend getting sliders so you can enjoy and separate the savory and sweet sauces. But it wasn't worth the price. Overall, not terrible, but that interaction left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't be going back. I've never felt that embarrassed, especially with him not hearing me out and just clicking away on the tablet. Felt super inferior and stupid. And just a heads up, the tip defaults to 20% so be weary of that.

Crack Burger in Long Beach is the definition of a neighborhood gem, and after coming here 4 times now I can confidently say it's a consistent 5 star experience. A huge part of that is the owner Dave. Straight up stand up guy. He genuinely treats people with kindness and it shows every single visit. The first time I came with my girl he gave us root beer floats on the house. The second time he noticed my girl was cold and brought her a blanket plus hooked us up with some white bean chili also on the house. When I came with my dad Dave blessed us with a free brownies, and same thing when I came with my friend. That's not normal customer service anymore that's real hospitality. 10/10 on service every time and shoutout to Dave for always showing love to the people he's serving. The spot itself is super chill and laid back right on the golf course. You can eat inside but the patio is where it's at. Sitting outside watching the greens while you eat is such a vibe especially on a nice day. Now the food. You honestly can't go wrong with any burger here. I've had a few different ones and they've all been really good, it just depends on what you're in the mood for. Today I went with the Ortega and it hit the spot. I paired it with the potato salad and the white bean chili. Both were good, but that white bean chili is GREAT especially when it's cold out. Add a lager with it and it's the perfect afternoon meal. No complaints at all. If you haven't tried Crack Burger yet do yourself a favor and go. You'll leave happy and you'll probably be planning your next visit before you even finish your food.

Hi All,' The Hubbie and I tried another burger place from our Long Beach Burger Passport. Today, we went to Crack in Long Beach. It's located at the Bixby Village Golf Course. Those darn golfers always seem to keep the best burgers a secret. But, no more. The Hubs and I both had the recommended Bacon Jam Burger. OOO La La! The bacon jam had a hint of sweet, caramelized onions and bacon, with cheese and a generous slab of beefsteak tomato to make this burger complete. They cook it up for you on an outdoor BBQ on the deck overlooking the fairways. They close at 6pm on Sundays, so we were just in time for a picturesque sunset as we finished our meal. The service was fast and friendly. This is a perfectly no frills dining experience which golfers typically like. The only downside I can mention is that they do not offer french fries. Too bad because as I ate the Bacon Jam Burger, I couldn't help but imagine, steak fries covered in bacon jam, cheese and pico de gallo for "golfer's nachos." But that's just me. Talk about finding a hidden treasure inside the Bixby Estates. If you are looking for great food with a relaxing atmosphere that is dog friendly, and overlooking the golf club estates, then Crack burger is the spot. The owner David was the funniest, and helped guided us through his menu. He even went out of his way to make a few things that weren't on the menu for that day. We ended up getting the dirty and bacon jam burger, with crispy potato salad, pineapple coleslaw, and elote grilled corn on the cob with free banana pudding!!!! Delicious Food, Top tier Service with a relaxing atmosphere will definitely be my go to when I'm in the area.

I found this place off Reddit. I've been coming here for 3 years now, and it's been my favorite burger spot in since.The food here is great. In Long Beach for a festival and was a bit malnourished after day 1 so we were craving some hearty burgers. Did some quick research and found that Crack was one of the top burger choices. Arrived in the middle of the suburbs at a golf course to find a small burger shop inside. They have indoor and outdoors seating viewing the golf course and they grill on a flattop outside. Had to try their bacon jam since it was what they were known for and was not disappointed in the end. I also ordered a side of potato salad that was quite nice and refreshing to contrast the burger. The burger itself was very juicy, cooked perfectly, with a little bit of mayo at the bottom to prevent it from being too rich. I enjoyed the bacon jam, but found it a little too sweet for my tastes overall. All in all, it was an amazing burger, I think I would've preferred just a little less bacon jam or something spicy to cut into the sweetness.

10/10000000 l!! Absolutely loved the burger, its inside a golf store basically and has only like 3 tables but so worth it. Can't even tell you about the service because it was some of the best. We got this chicken chili soup of the day and GAS! Definitely recommend & i'll definitely be back some of the best burgers I've had!

We don't know how the burgers are here since we never got them, after an hour of waiting. I know because we made a special effort to get to this supposed Mecca of deliciousness, taking a longer than usual lunch time to do so. We were greeted by a curt Caucasian man at the counter, who proceeded to take the order of two other people who arrived after us. They must have been regulars or golfers. He then demanded to know what we wanted. We should have understood then that we were not welcome there, but everyone had raved about the food! When we ordered drinks he told us, "the fountain drinks aren't working so you can go look in that barrel." There were no diet drinks, so I took a sugar drink, despite health issues. He brought a small cup of bean soup to our table. We then waited and waited and waited while he served all of the people who had arrived after us, including a worker at the place. They all must have been golfers or regulars. When I finally got up to pay, since it was obvious we were not getting food before we had to go to work, I told him we had been waiting an hour. He rudely said, "It has not been an hour, I will have to check the video." He said your food is here. By then we were quite late, so we had to leave without food (since there is NO TAKE OUT). It was a frustrating and demeaning experience. DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU ARE A REGULAR OR A GOLFER. read more

Finally tried Crack today and have to say, so glad we did! Dave the owner was extremely special to meet as he was trying to serve not only customers but catering as well. Have to say one of the best burgers in LB, but some of the best white Chile ever. He's a hard worker and extremely passionate about his food and he should be, on the plus side side, we went home and couldn't stop talking about the dirty burger....with bacon jam... after a tuff day of traveling! We had a wonderful lunch at the Crack Burger a couple of weeks ago. I love hamburgers but the bacon jam put this burger over the top. It was juicy and tasty and the bacon jam just made my mouth water. We left the restaurant so full we couldn't eat another bite! We will be back for more. read more

Had "The Dirty" and it was really good. I asked for ketchup like I usually do when I order any burger but I was told I didn't need it. Of course I was given ketchup nonetheless. The burger spoke for itself and it really didn't need ketchup or anything extra I also had a side of potato salad and it tasted as it should, which is great. EDIT: Long story short, I do plan on going back. First trip, I got the Bacon Jam burger. Next trip, I plan on trying the Ortega Burger or The Dirty. Both look great in my opinion, on "paper", that is (in otherwords, what's listed in what each burger has in them). ***REVIEW*** I knew I was going to be in the Seal Beach area tonight, so I looked up the best burgers near Seal Beach. Crack was actually #1 on Yelp. So, if you know me, if it's a place I've never heard of that seems kinda different, I'm in! Wish I'd known about this place before, since it's roughly on the way to one of my normal stops in Long Beach. You know what they say, better late than never. Right? I won't post a picture, because someone else already had. I ordered the Bacon Jam Burger, without tomato, because...tomato just isn't my thing. To each and their own, ya know? Was this the best burger I ever had in my life? Well...no...BUT, BUT, BUT...that's not a fair comparison. I eat burgers at all price points, and wild and crazy burgers are my thing. Does this place do that and charge something like $17 for their burgers? No. Places like those either have the greatest burgers you ever had, or just basic. Is it fair to compare this to fast food chains? Nope, it's not fast food, but I'm starting to wish I worked 5 minutes away from here, because I'd probably be here for lunch every day. I think you know where I'm going with this: I'd pick Crack over Carl's Jr. Burger King, McDonald's and In-n-Out. I'm guessing now is a good time to remind you that the name of the restaurant is called "Crack". :P I'm not gonna lie. I've been to Shake Shack in the new 2nd and PCH center a few times. Crack just barely edges it out. Plus, you don't have to deal with all of that stupid parking in the garage. If you like Shake Shack, you should come here. Getting here, is actually fun. I drive from Studebaker to Loynes to the street that it's on, which escapes my mind at the moment. Loynes, I'm guessing there's a lot of tree roots that've pushed the street up a bit, it's a bit of a rollercoaster and wow, it's actually pretty fun to drive on. Lastly, I'd like to thank David for such hospitality. He actually let me try a couple of samples. One was some chicken/bean soup I think, and the other was banana bread. It was all fantastic. I ordered some Indian Wells Black Cherry Soda which was really good, too. Again, something else I'd never head. I'd had the same thing by a brand called Stubborn, which I see randomly at restaurants on their fountains. I think it comes in a can/bottle as well. I will be back when it's convenient for me. read more

I rarely write any Yelp reviews. To be honest, this is probably my 3rd one ever! I was debating between In-N-Out or a good non-chain burger spot and randomly came across Crack. So glad I did! Tucked away right next to a golf course, this little joint is such a great place to relax and enjoy good food by yourself or with a group of friends. Dave, the owner/cook, gave me the warmest welcome! I ordered the Dirty Burger and Dave said, "this is going to be the best burger you'll ever have!" I replied and said, "bold statement Dave!" Now I'm no burger connoisseur or anything, but I know good food and quality! He started me off with the white chili and potato salad, which were so good! I don't even typically like potato salad but he had me at the potato salad. Then out came the burger. He was having his dinner at the next table over from me and I just looked at him and gave him the nod of approval. It was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had! I told him I know it's a good burger if I drink a soda after (I rarely drink soda). And what do you know, I washed my meal down with an ice cold Coca-Cola! Dave is awesome and you can absolutely tell he is passionate about what he does through his cooking and great customer service! I will definitely be coming back here regularly! read more

This place was awesome! Had the bacon jam burger which was one of the best burgers I've ever had! It melted in your mouth. The brioche bun made it light so you could eat the whole burger without getting so full! Bacon jam was so good!! We tasted the sides of white chicken chili and potato salad! Both were excellent! My husband got bologna sandwich. I believe it was smoked and grilled thick bologna served on a brioche bun w lettuce onion and tomato. He loved it! Great patio overlooking the golf course. read more

11/10! (If that's possible ) Just finished a round at Bixby and decided after smelling the delicious burgers cooking from the 3rd hole we had to try one after we were done. SO GOOD! Tried the Bacon Jam Burger. Cant wait to go back to try The Dirty which was also high on the list. The sides are always changing and we got the white bean chili and had to try the Rice O Roni with artichoke hearts. This place is a MUST when you're craving a burger. never had a better burger. read more

We dropped in for lunch today with our two young kids and loved this place. It has a relaxed, block-party vibe that reminded me of summers as a kid. The owner is friendly and a great host. He recommended the dirty burger and it was honestly the best burger I've ever tasted. It was juicy and had just the right amount of heat. It wasn't too heavy. It was just right- with great quality ingredients and a bun that has just the right amount of buttery crunch before melting away in your mouth. The kids devoured the "3 year old" burger and a hot dog. I wasn't planning on eating anything but once I tasted the burger, I couldn't stop stealing bites of my kids food. The owner let us sample the green turkey chili (wonderful flavor) and a root beer float (another nostalgic throw back to lazy childhood summers). Heard about this place from my buddy and I decided to go I've it a try. Right away greeted by friendly staff. I got the dirty burger and it was the best burger I've had in a long time. If you're looking for a burger than this is the spot! Burgers are made with Real ground beef! None of that frozen patty crap. You can watch them prepare the burger right up front. It was cooked just right and the chipotle they put on it was on point! I gotta say it would've went good with fries, but they didn't have any so I got the green chicken Chile which was really good. If there was one downfall it's the parking lot. Don't drive in there if your car is low. Scraped the bottom of mine. The good news is there is plenty of parking on the street. I would've never known it was here if I was driving by, but now that I know I'll definitely be back and would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a burger. read more

The chef took the time to chat and made sure I had everything I needed. I also tried the white bean chicken chili. Now I have never been a white chili kind of girl but I am now a convert. This place is legit! From the burgers to the customer service, everything was exceptional! We had the Ortega, The Dirty and The 3yr Old burgers and I've got to say it was hard to choose a favorite as they were all great! The white bean chili is a must! Great desserts too! Oh and I almost forgot...they've got root beer on tap which is delicious! Definitely will be back soon! read more

Took the fam for a quick dinner nothing fancy. I am always down for a little something new and yelp recommended crack. We got there about 7-730 pm or so. It was very dark I was afraid they were closed. The guy running the place was super nice. We ordered and he said have a seat on the patio and ill bring everything out. Our little ones just had hot dogs. We had the dirty burger, the ortega burger, and the bacon jam burger. All were delicious. we also tried the potato salad and the chili. I definitely wanted more. Went golfing at Bixby with my son and met Dave in the "clubhouse" after our round and he talked me into a burger. What more can I say, it was one of the BEST burgers I've had. The fries were thin and had some cajun spice on them as well and Dave gave us a little taster of his white bean chili. Will definitely be back for another round of golf and a crack burger. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.

This is a crappy response from a crappy person. I want to address a few things, you messaged me directly insisting that I did not go to your restaurant. Not only did I respond to your rude message. I responded 15 minutes later at 9 PM. If you simply said something along the lines of we have bad days, I'm stressed out, I just wasn't feeling it etc. I wouldn't have cared to respond whether it was said in private or public. But you didn't do that you went out of your way to double down on the if I talk that way I'd be out of business. Well, you insulted me, directly once in private messages and a second time on your page seems to be a trend, but what do I know? Lastly, I just don't understand if you feel I did not go there why ask me to revise the review why not just report it to yelp and say it was fraud ......... make it make sense? Let me hip you to this. Best cheeseburger I've ever had. It's the next big thing. From my understanding, the bun, meat, and cheese are all phenomenal, but the bacon jam is the best. I wish I was kidding. Easier said then done, they also have some killer lemonade. Don't look at me. Your order comes with a great chili appetizer (super famous) and a vanilla ice cream (super legit) with caramel syrup. Yeah man, yeah. More expensive than in-n-out, but tastes better. That's a thing. It's worth the cost. This is for free people. It's usually not crowded and has a nice patio view of the golf course. That. Parking is free. You would know. Crack Burgers changed my life because I wasn't a smash burger fan. But now I am and I'm telling you, you've gotta try this spot. MUST ORDERS 1. The Ortega Burger (bacon jam) 2. The Dirty Girl (bacon jam) The bacon jam is DELICIOUS and the name says it all. 3. Potato Salad (the best I've ever had) 4. Apple Pie BBQ Baked Beans (I won't give away his secret) 5. White Bean Chili (another reason I went back) 6. Red Lager served in a chilled mug so it stays cold. There's no take out because Dave wants you to eat his food while it's hot and I get it. It was thanks to Yelp that we found this secret gem! This is the place to go if you like smash burgers! The owner was so cool that you felt like you were having a BBQ in your own backyard. We decided to sit on the patio because it was cool and had some shade. We got the salad with our Smashburger. We tried some of his white bean soup, and it was delicious. And to top it all off, a free small root beer float with vanilla bean ice cream. I can't believe there wasn't a line out the door because everything was so great. Dave at Crack Burger lives up to the hype. The burgers are excellent, but so are the special menu items he comes up with. Dave and his team handled dinner for our son's 6th birthday at Bixby Village Golf Course and made the whole thing seamless. He built a menu that was both kid-friendly and high quality, and somehow got about 25 people fed in under 45 minutes so we could stay on schedule. The team was organized, efficient, and easy to work with. The kids had a blast, and everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend for both the food and the experience. read more

If I could give ten stars, I would! All of his food is great. I am a sides girl, and all the unique sides he makes blow me away every time. If you like root beer, you will love the root beer on draft. He puts them in a chilled cup that gets so cold it turns the root beer in to a slushee. The service is great. He is really down to earth, asks his guests their opinions and really talks to you like a friend. And who can pass up a nice golf course view on the deck as a nice ambiance. read more

Good 5 star run with 261 reviews don't know if Yelp settings if I can go back to 5 stars . With all the positive reviews I've had that Yelp has taken down thru their automated systems..alot of my business from Yelp is people searching and coming in just because I'm 5 stars without even reading the reviews they go off pictures. when we get to crack it's like my wife is on a mission to be known as the baddest pound for pound eater in the LBC. at a mere 130 lbs and able to put away 2 bacon jams and 2 sides, she is doing pretty well if you ask me. she has no desire to eat this much at any other restaurant, but at crack, she just can't stop- certified crackhead. read more
