Was in the mood for wings. My wife and I jumped on the bikes and headed up to st augustine beach. We stopped at Crabbys, stood in doorway while hostess and bartender were yacking. after being noticed, we got seated outside. ordered fries and wings. While waiting, we were treated to the smell of a cigar from a foot outside the non smoking area. waited.. then got fries because the wings still weren't ready. wings were obviously frozen and dry. Then before leaving, I hit the mens room, obviously had not been cleaned in some time, smelling of urine. floor in restaurant was also very dirty and sticky. After leaving, both of us had sour stomachs for a while. Needless to say, won't be back, shoud have stuck with our known favorites. read more

The kitchen seemed very inexperienced. The lunch I had was terrible. The poor server tried his best to keep up with a large table (less than 20) group of women in an otherwise empty restaurant at lunch-hour. I ordered grouper bites. YOU would think for $18.99 that you would get better than a small filet chopped up into kiddie-sized bites. The fish was chewy and cold. It was supposed to come with fries but those didn't arrive until at least 5 minutes after my entree. I waited, along with everyone else in the party, for 1.5 hours to get my food...A plate of fish, sitting by itself with nothing else on the plate. Not even a piece of lettuce for garnish. Went for breakfast. The service was slooowww. Almost 5 minutes before anyone came to our table. We ordered drinks and it was another 5 before a coffee and tea came out. It was another 40 minutes before our food came out. My wife and I both ordered over medium eggs, mine were underdone with a lot of white runny goo and my wife's may as well have been called blackened eggs the were so overdone (and black). I got biscuits and gravy. A very thrifty spoonful of gravy and my sausage pattys fell apart when I put a fork in them. My wife's steak bowl had steak that tasted sour. We left almost the whole plates of food. We told the waitress and she spoke to the manager who totally ignored us. So here I am. read more

We went to crabbys beachside Saturday 9/27/25. 11:45 am for a seafood lunch. Never again. It started with an all water down frozen drink. Then after 20 minutes got a frozen version that had no taste at all. Then finally got the food. My crab cakes were hard and dry. Along with my redbeans and rice. The worst food ever! You go to Florida on vacation for Great Seafood and you get CRAP and they can't even make a beach frozen drink! Don't waste your money! read more

We walked in for dinner and over the time we stood at the host stand 4-5 employee's walked past and ignored us. Some even passed us twice. It was 6 pm and not that crowded. No one said a word. We finally headed out. They never acknowledged to say they were busy and would be right with us. We will not return or recommend. read more

I don't expect much from a beachside restaurant, but Crabby's was a fantastic surprise! The menu is mostly fried seafood, but they do have several tempting boils on the menu. Their cocktail menu is creative and fun, and several in our group sampled a few of the unique combinations and were happy with them. The conch fritters we ordered for the table were unfortunately burnt and not enjoyable, but we ate them anyway. All the entrees were good (grouper tacos, mahi tacos, and fried Royal Red shrimp), but the standout were the Royal Reds. For those new to this treat, these are deep-water shrimp that are sweeter than local shrimp with a texture more like lobster. We were concerned that frying such a sweet and delicate-tasting food would somehow diminish its flavor, but we were totally wrong. The fried royal reds were sweet, succulent, and they had a great "pop" on the first bite. They also were not overly breaded. Both taco dinners were great, with perfectly cooked fish and lots of fresh toppings. Of the desserts, the key lime pie was rather ordinary, but the chocolate cake was immense and as promised a total chocolate overload. Service throughout was friendly and attentive. Our visitors from California can't wait to return, particularly to eat Royal Reds again! read more

Hope it's a 5. New restaurant located across from the St Augustine Beach Pier and Park. This is a fairly new building completely rebuilt a few years ago. Great upper deck - with dining upstairs and down. They have a parking lot. Looks like a chain restaurant with good reviews- Welcome to St Augustine Beach. Website says they will open in January 2023. The bartender, Ky, was working extremely hard and was very nice but had to make drinks and wait on our table as well as other tables. We never saw a manager. Drinks were good. Our local friend had a mix experience here and so did we. The fish and shrimp chip platter was very good. On the other had, the chicken in the chicken sandwich was dry and not enjoyable. The tartar sauce is suspended from a plastic bottle and was of salad dressing consistency. The fries had a taste seasoning and were on the salter side. Meals come with good choices of sides and one can substitute salad for fried for just a couple of dollars more. They have drink specials on certain nights. Patrons can sit inside or outside and there seems to be ample parking. Our waitress, Soaring Eagle, was nice and was helpful in our selection of food. I read reviews and wasn't sure if this place. Glad we didn't listen and are here. I had the shrimp tacos. They were very flavorful and had a kick (hubby didn't think they did). The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Husband got the fish & chips and he didn't leave a drop. Glad they had fish sticks on the kids menu, my son had eaten enough chicken on our trip. They weren't the frozen ones, they were just like the fish & chips just a smaller portion perfect for a kid. Not a drop left on his plate either. The quality of the food has been consistent and delicious every time we visit. The staff could be a little more attentive but seems to be expected now days. We were traveling down to Orlando and decided to take a detour through St Augustine on A1A to look for a nice lunch spot. We stopped in at Crabby's which is directly across from the public beach parking. Crabby's has both indoor and outdoor seating and has a bar in both the first and second floor. We elected to sit outside on the upper balcony. We shared an appetizer of hush puppies (half order has 6) and then shared the Mayport Shrimp Boil. The hush puppies come with honey but I like the tarter sauce. The shrimp boil had plenty of shrimp to share and came with a large sausage link and 2 ears of corn. The sauce was delicious! I would have loved some potatoes like a traditional low country boil but this dish doesn't come with potatoes. Our server was super and really kept our glasses full as it was hot outside during our visit. I look forward to trying some other dishes on a future visit to Crabby's. read more

The staff was friendly and attentive, although it took them a while to notice we were there lol, but other than that - very nice and helpful. We had excellent service and the food quality was exceptional. I had the salmon with broccoli and cheese grits and I really enjoyed it. For $54 we got a smallish wine, a beer, one good looking and tasting grouper sandwich, and a small but tasty Key Lime pie. Silverware wrapped in a thin napkin brought in a plastic container. Tables set up in a severe formation. I didn't find it very charming. Just down the street the Sunset Grill is full of beach charm, with good food and a better wine pour at a much better price. At first we were going to go to another beachside eatery but the parking was a zero of 10. We decided to try this Crabby's location. The parking was plentiful and stress free. We had the good fortune of being seated with the best server in St. Augustine, Cholette. Our daughter was disappointed to find out that chocolate milkshakes were not a menu item, but Cholette and Carol found a work around to make her happy with what our youngest called the best milkshake ever. There is a slight view of the ocean. The inside is clean and relaxed. There are two bar areas and restrooms located both upstairs and downstairs. We discovered they serve breakfast also! And Cholette is working breakfast! The price for 3 entrees, appetizer, specialty drink, and draft beers was around $80 which is a fairly good deal. Over all happy with our visit and will return soon. This place is overall very decent! The food was good in my opinion just the Mac and cheese was the lowest quality food I had in my meal. The sweet tea they have there is TOP TIER and absolutely fire the service is was good and checked in us often. The location of the place was calm for a Tuesday and there wasn't many people around. We decided to try this last night as we were staying directly across the street and just wanted a casual meal. Started with the crab cake appetizer that was very tasty. Our meals were the Key West Mahi & shrimp combo and the mango Mahi. Both were very good but honestly, it was the customer service and friendliness of the hostess who sat us and our waitress Lindsey who made it a 5 star review. Would've enjoyed having some live music.
