Love the food and service here!!! Best chicken fried steak around and the new menu items added are amazing.

Too bad I can't rate today a ZERO STAR...we've been waiting over an hour and just received half the order. Must be that Chicken Fried Chicken requires a longer cook time. We arrive at 11:50 and it's a Sunday. They have to advise 45!minutes after order they didn't realize they are out of the Sunday Special of Turkey and Dressing. That is a blunder and inexcusable offense if you can't plan that out. We come weekly to Cotton Patch and after today, I'd advise to go someplace else. To many choices for this lack of professionalism. Only excuse is they have a lot of new people. Oh, still waiting. The salad that replaced the turkey and a vegetable plate is all we could get in over and hour. Awful service. Another 15 minutes and still no simple Chicken Fried Chicken. We decided better to leave and eat someplace else. We eat here on average twice per week and average over $75 per meal. read more

Placed order #72112 online. Arrived at the specified time and they had no record of my order. They offered no apology and even accused me of being at the wrong location or having failed to actually complete my order. This place doesn't disappoint. We were greeted warmly. Our waitress, Julie, was very friendly and guided us through the menu. The value was excellent compared to other prices we have seen and the atmosphere was hard to match. I highly recommend this place. read more

This is another addition to our long list of "Sunday Lunch Bunch After Church On Sundays." There certainy are many choices on the menu. My own favorite is the chopped steak with gravy and mushrooms. Then servings and choices are much like the old Black-Eyed Pea Restaurants. Plenty of rolls and corn bread. All you can ask for. Convenient location on the west side of William D, Tate Blvd, State Highway 121, about midway south from Grapevine and Southlake between Euless and Bedford. Service has usually been prompt and quality good. Tab for the 3 of us (wife, daughter and self ) is usually less than $50 including drinks, tax and tip. read more

This place had great food. All 7 of us enjoyed our food. Salad, chicken fried steak , meat loaf, chicken strips, catfish all delicious.

My husband and I have a weekly dinner here after work. We always have great service and the management here is always friendly. You can really see that they enjoy their jobs. The best part though? I liked Cotton Patch! The menu is huge and a little daunting. I sort of equate this place to a higher end Chilis or Applebees. Maybe closer to the lines of a Marie Calendars when they were still around. They serve complimentary fresh rolls and cornbread with honey butter when you first sit down. I ordered a salad and it was crisp, fresh and just the right portion. There a lot of comfort foods (meatloaf, pot roast, chicken fried steak, etc.) so it's easy to go way off the diet when you come here. We skipped desert but I hear the bread pudding is popular and good. Our server was very cool and offered his help in finding the right menu item to order. read more

I liked working in Richardson because it was a gold mine of small, unique, non-chain restaurants, especially ethnic ones. I am now working at the corner of Grapevine, Euless, and Colleyville and not finding much choice in restaurants. I have been to Cotton Patch now three times. It is ok country cooking. They totally messed up a call in order, then fixed it when I brought it to the manger's attention. Service is good and friendly. Food is ok. I wish it was better. Sigh. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE and WAITSTAFF to date. We've been coming to this particular Cotton Patch restaurant for years, as it's the closest to our home. We've always had great service... until tonight. We entered the restaurant and were completely ignored from the moment we entered. There were two waitresses on staff who were behind the beverage prep area. Both of them looked over at us, like at each other, and walked the other way. They didn't even acknowledge us or give us as much as a greeting. There was a man taking phone orders up front near the "bar" area. He had headphones in while he was on the phone with another customer. He also didn't acknowledge us with even a smile or a hello. Finally after about 4 minutes of standing there in the front, one of the waitresses finally comes up to the area to put in an order for one of her customers and finally looks at us to say, "we'll be with you in a moment". She finished putting in her order at the computer station, and then turned around to go back to wandering around the almost half empty restaurant. It had now been 6 minutes of us standing around waiting to be seated, let alone acknowledged. I turned to my fiancée and said, "let's go to the Grapevine location on Main. I'm tired of waiting for these people". And now, I'm sitting here enjoying my meal at the Cotton Patch in downtown Grapevine. Took us less than a minute to be helped and seated. If I could give the Cotton Patch on William D Tate in South Grapevine a negative star instead of having to give them one at all, I would. They definitely don't deserve it. I decided to come here today for lunch to try something different. I use to go to the cotton patch in flower mound and never seemed to have much of a problem at that location, I figured what could go wrong they are all the same......wrong. Now granted today the temperature outside was 103 degree s I didn't expect them to have the temperature turned down to 60, but as soon as you walked in it was hot and stuffy in the restaurant and I saw they had ALL the fans blowing full blast. Ok, get seated by the window and of course you can feel the heat just beating in off the glass Ughhhhhh. Here comes Scott the waiter, seemed friendly and upbeat, he also seemed hot, as in sweaty hot, ewwww. (Told ya it was stuffy) I ordered the patti melt but I wanted it on white bread, not rye. He comes back 2 minutes later and said "she said if we make your sandwich on white bread that it's going to be a lot smaller than if we made it on rye bread." Hmmmm, ooook? I said make it any ways, how bad could it be right? Needless to say when it came out it looked like a normal sized sandwich to me, so whoever "she" was who said it wasn't going to look right needed to get her proportion s right :/ I ended up with a side of cinnamon apples which where good but you didn't get many :( So ya, to each their own for a Saturday at lunch time this location was NOT BUSY, just a few old timers getting their grub on mmmm not my cup of tea. Went there for dinner. No one at front so waited to be seated. 1st waitress said would get to us in a minute - 2nd waitress later said will get to you in a minute. After some time we were seated. There were only 8 tables in the restaurant with customers. The waitress that seated us was wearing a mask but it was down below her nose - she had a nose ring - and was serving food to other customers. We waited for some time and were brought menus. We waited again and a waitress brought a basket of rolls with butter - but no silverware. She came back took our drink order. I told her we were ready to order and she said she would be back. We waited for some time but with no silverware, drinks or anyone to take our order and given the fact that the one serving food was wearing the mask under her nose, we got up and simply walked out. No one asked why or anything. I would give them less than one if I could on this visit. read more

I really like this place and could eat here everyday. Down home comfort food! Great prices. Have tried a variety of things here. My fav being the chicken fried chicken. Service has been from fair to very good. Have never been disappointed with the food. read more

This is my first visit to this chain . This location is really close to our home . We ordered rib eye steak with corn & baked potato , duo tilapia & shrimp with dumpling & chicken soup along with mixed veggies . My toddler got chicken strip with fries & green bean . The food was a bit too salty to our liking. The best dish would be baked potato & chicken strip . The brownie desserts were not good at all . The service was good . However , the table was pretty sticky . We might go back for chicken fried steak . read more

I like Cotton Patch but this location is sorry!! Went for years after church and was happy with it. Management now stinks at this location. Have had several bad experiences and was planning on never returning but a friend wanted to go, well nothing has changed. If you complain the manager is cocky. Corporate needs to come in and do an overhaul on this place, but not really sure if they even care. read more

Ordered three simple dishes tonight and two out of the three entrees were incorrect. My order came out with fries instead of the side I ordered and my daughter received a creole dish instead of her grilled fish and shrimp. So, we informed one of the servers who said they would correct it. Our original server then came out and asked if everything was correct and we told her we were waiting on a corrected meal for my daughter. 15 minutes later, the server comes out again and asks us if we still want our daughter's meal (not sure why since she still hadn't eaten.) After our meal was finished, they finally brought out my daughter's meal and it was all fried instead of what we originally ordered (grilled). No one offered much of an apology, discount or even a comment from the manager. The server did let us know that we were welcome to "stay as long as we like" and then asked if we wanted to-go cups. We have lived down the street from this restaurant for nine years and consistently seen this type of service. When our kids were younger, no one would wait on us and we could hear the servers arguing over who was going to have to serve our table. In short, this place should be avoided at all costs. read more

Great spot. We walked in on a saturday night and were sat right away. They have $5 margaritas and the rolls that was served were great. We ordered a couple of Sirloins which were cooked to order. We tried the bacon cheese fries which were good but a little salty. If I ever return to Dallas I will visit this place again. read more

We usually end up getting our food to go from here. They are usually very good about packaging things and making sure they have extras like rolls and gravy. If I didn't get enough of something like that, I've never been questioned when asking for a bit more. The portions are definitely generous and I haven't had anything from here that wasn't good. They have an excellent chicken fried chicken as well as burgers. One thing you might want to avoid is their cheese fries as they seem to solidify as a single chunk and it's really difficult to eat after just a few moments of being plated up. Wow, it's been a few months since I last was here, and it looks like this place has hit rock bottom. Dirty floors. Dirty seats, dirty tables everywhere! The staff standing in a little group chatting. Not a care in the world! I won't be back. I can't eat in a place that's filthy. I mentioned it to the waitress and she just smiled and ignored it. This location is near downtown Grapevine and atmosphere is really good. You should definitely checkout this place. Oh!
