I went back and forth on giving CPC Grapevine two or three stars. So, think of this as a 2.5. Basically, I've never had an issue with their food. I've always enjoyed what I've eaten there and have never had any issues the few times I've dined in the restaurant. However, take out has been a completely different story. We've gotten take out from this location probably no less than ten times. The last six times, there has always been something incorrect with our order. We've called, complained, they've comped us desserts and yet they still continue to have the same problem Wrong dressing for salad. Wrong sides with entrees. Forgetting the bread, sauce, gravy, whatever. Honestly, after three wrong orders, I was done, but my husband insisted on going back, so we did. Now, I think he's finally reached his limit as well. So the food, yes when you get the correct thing, is good. But if you order take out, make sure you check your bag thoroughly before you leave the store (open the containers) and make sure everything is correct. Good luck. read more

Everything was very tasty and fresh. The staff were friendly, and the food can out quickly. I particularly enjoyed the cats fish tacos. The sauce that confess on the side is awesome. The fried green tomatoes had just a little bite to them. And we also tried the new fried mashed potatoes appetizer. That was really good also. Nice crunch to them. I always think it's a bit dramatic when people say "If I could give zero stars, I would." Well, here I am to say.....IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!!! Placed an online order for curbside pickup. Arrived about 15 mins later. Called the number to let them know what spot I was in. 30 mins go by, which is now well after the quoted time. I call again, to make sure I didn't mistakenly give them my nickname since it doesn't match my Cotton Patch online account. The lady who answered said "It'll be out when it's ready." At this point, it's been 45 mins and it's still not ready. I continue to sit and give it another 15 mins, which has been a full hour. At this point, my kid in the backseat has wet herself and I'm not far behind, being 8 months pregnant with a baby sitting on my bladder. I also no longer want the food because after waiting an HOUR, I have zero faith that it will be good or correct, especially since I can see that it's not even like the dining room is full. I decide to waddle inside and ask for my money back. Super pissed that I had to do this since this defeats the purpose of curbside and I'm pregnant and don't go anywhere that I don't have to because of the virus. I go inside and there are two ladies running the front (as best they can, I guess). I finally get a chance to speak with them and they say "It's ready now." It's just sitting up on the counter. One admits that she had just taken it out to the wrong car and was trying to figure out where it went. I vividly remember her coming out to the car next to me and taking the bags back and it had been SEVERAL minutes prior. Remember......I CALLED A SECOND TIME TO MAKE SURE I'D GIVEN THE RIGHT NAME AND LOCATION. At this point, I tell them I just want my money back. They tell me call tomorrow. No apology, no explanation, not a shred of care. Now, I could go off about the staff and their absolutely terrible service, but I don't know what they've been dealing with, if they were understaffed, etc. Regardless, still no excuse. However, what blows my mind, is that Cotton Patch Corporate is located in Grapevine. Having worked in corporate for a restaurant chain, I am BAFFLED that they would let a location in their corporate backyard to be run this poorly. Something is terribly amiss. I've had great experiences at other Cotton Patch locations, but this one was so terrible, it will be a long time before I go back to any location. read more

We always loved this location of Cotton Patch Cafe in Grapevine on William D Tate . The food has always been consistently great however last night was our first visit in over a year . We happened to be in Grapevine and thought we would try it out again . I wish we hadn't. The waitress raved about the steak special do we tried it . First the salad came out and it was delicious! Crispy , fresh , great honey mustard dressing. Next our steaks and veggie ms were served . The steaks were a weird spongy stringy texture with little to no seasoning. Simply awful . My broccoli was so over cooked it was baby food consistency so I asked to replace it with fried okra which was promptly brought out burnt but cold like it had been overdone earlier in the day and set out all day . My husband got the broccoli rice casserole that was gummy and tasteless. I have never been so disappointed in our meals . Not sure if this location changed hands or what happened but we will avoid that location from now on . read more

This is our ol' stand by for when La Hacienda Ranch and Cantina Laredo are too full for dinner. Their portions are nice to share, or you can order a smaller plate which is nice. For the most part their food is consistently mediocre. The buffalo strips were so greasy that I simply could not eat them the last time we were there, but that wasn't the norm. I came here with a friend that came into town, and we just wanted to grab a quick lunch. Everything we got was very good. I know we both got the Club Sandwich w/fries that's my go-to sandwich.. Love it always. ( but this was a few years ago). It looks like they don't have it on the menu anymore they have a California Club, not the same at all... My wife and I frequent this place often and usually leave happy or content. The food is pretty good as well as the service but it is not consistent. I would have given this place 4 stars if their service quality was better. I am on a special diet and I have to have food prepared a certain way and about 90% of the time, this is not a problem and this Cotton Patch is more than happy to oblige. Their are occasions where a server will tell me they can not do it or give some sort of excuse or explanation on why they can't. I have never pressed the issue or given a bad tip or less of a tip, etc but I am not very happy when I leave when that happens. I hope somebody from Cotton Patch reads this and knows that we will def be coming back and that this review in no way says we will not be, but to instead just think about what I have said. read more

This is your go to place when you just want a great meal like pot roast, biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, etc. Currently they have a New York strip, (my fav, but I was here on a mission for their fantastic pot roast), which will only be available for a limited time. Most entrees come with your choice of two sides, which vary widely from veggies, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and so much more. They have flavored teas as well as sweet and Unsweet, consisting of peach and raspberry which was really good not that Brisk or Lipton crap. Pot roast is delish, breaks apart easily with your fork and the veggies are soft and plentiful. Fat potatoes and long carrots. Generous portion. My bf ordered the chicken fried steak which earned his approval, and that's his favorite meal so just saying. The reason for our dinner this particular evening was a farewell for my father, who decided on the Caesar salad with lemon salmon on top, which looked amazing (photo included). He said it was great. I ordered a catfish platter that was kind of lack luster. The catfish seemed a bit dry, the hush puppy... literally hush puppy as in one. The mashed potatoes look as though they simply scooped it onto the bowl. I ordered steamed veggies to go with it, they forgot my vegg so I asked them to bring it back out. I've only used DoorDash to order from this restaurant. The food was always great. I recently received an order for chicken fried chicken that was missing the gravy. I called the restaurant & was placed on "hold". I could hear swearing and all type of unsavory background conversation. The manager picked up the receiver only to say he packed the bag himself and he was sure he put it in there. I assured him if it were I would not be calling. Then he says well could I come pick it up or arrange for someone to come by. Excuse me!?! That's why I used DoorDash. After a few minutes of back and forth I said I would come down to get it. I get to the restaurant and I am able to pick up the missing gravy. The young lady was like ok was that it? I asked to speak to the manager. He gives me the same song and dance from the phone conversation. I inform him I need to be compensated for having to drive to pick up the missing item. I used DoorDash for the service, if I wanted to pick it up I would have. He says he can replace the gravy. I said you mean the gravy I paid for. He never offered a discount, free item, nada. It was obvious he was young and inexperienced. After speaking with him I observed he had no conflict resolution skills or the ability to handle any real issues. I politely told him that I would not be spending any money at that restaurant in the future. It's very unfortunate the food is excellent but I can't support a business that doesn't treat its customers fairly. read more

This place can be very good one day and the next will be just ok. When it is just ok, means that your food might be a little off and your service will be from inattentive to terrible. I notice that the wait staff never help each other. For instance, last night my drink glass was continually empty, because the person waiting on me was busy. I love Cotton Patch too much. The chicken fried steak is incredible and the broccoli rice casserole is to die for, I try my hardest to not get that as an extra side also because it is so addicting. Even the buttered corn is good, doesn't taste canned or preserved or rubbery. The mashed potatoes are cooked with potato skins, but need a lot of salt in my opinion. The smaller sized portions for meats are great and still filling. The new barbecue chicken salad is AMAZING. We always get to-go here and it's always timely and still taste fresh. read more

Amazing! It was our fist time eat at Cotton Patch on Saturday. This was a Family Birthday Celebration. Our waitress was Evelyn. She is very good at what she does, so attentive. Food was GREAT. The whole family chose a variety of different entrees. Oh the Kids Meal! They came with "2" sides AND a drink for $5. Unheard of!!! And the 'fried green tomatoes' were Delicious. This is our all time favorite places to eat. We've been eating here since before we got married (almost 3yrs ago) and now take our kids who love it too. The manager and staff from day one have always been good to us and at this point recognize us when we walk in the door. We've rarely had to wait for a table when goin here, but they do get busy just depends on the times. My husband likes the Trailblazer cooked medium. This has been so bothersome to me, that now, a week later, I feel compelled to say something. First, the food was tasty, the menu intriguing, the light fare very nice - BUT - the level of incompetence, sanitation, customer service, and cleanliness was too low to rate. The basics: men's room disgusting, and no towels to dry your hands; tables left unbused the entire length of our stay; tables that were bused simply had the dishes cleared but remained unwiped; one table away from us had a pile of paper towels on the floor, I mean a pile as in huge wad - apparently absorbing something that spilled, and just left there for all to ponder. When our waiter arrived - very nice young man who did try his best to be kind and polite - we announced that they immediately need to clean the floor of the paper towels, and while they were at it put some paper towels in the bathroom. Our boy was very flustered by that but he held his cool, apologized properly, and did send word to the back that something needed to be done. Shortly afterward, some thug did come out and begrudgingly swept up the towels - swept ?!? Nothing wiped or mopped. The level of concern for customers was so low, one might call it contempt for customers. The obvious lack of proper sanitation and proper policing of the environment cannot help but cause one to wonder about the sanitation in the kitchen. Are we at risk eating there? By the way no towels were in the bathroom when we left - I checked. So - no apologies needed for me - I learned my lesson. A disgusting experience, and insulting to realize that they bill this place as Southern and Texan. It is neither. Consider this a public service announcement. read more

Do NOT order for delivery. They can't be bothered to put the right food in the right bag for the Uber Eats driver. They also can't be bothered to sincerely apologize for their mistake when you drive directly to the restaurant to get the right order. How do I know this isn't a random error? There were 2 other customers there at the same time with the same problem. So we paid for delivery and wound up having to pick our order up on our own, 45 minutes later. I recently picked up a Togo order. When I got home I found it was incomplete. I ordered the large chicken finger dinner and only got three fingers. Also there was a bowl of soup missing. The rolls looked like someone had sat on them. I called and spoke to a manager all he would say was sorry. Not offer to refund the money on the missing soup or offer coupons on a return visit. We've been eating at this location for years, but food and service have slipped the last couple of months. There are management and server issues. Today there was the usual after-church crowd, but not unusually busy. After waiting for 20 min for rolls and requesting utensils, we were told there weren't any clean sets. After another wait, we again asked for at least a knife to butter our rolls which by then were getting cold. It was suggested by the server that we just "dip them". Our food arrived about 30 min later and finally we had utensils, but I was told there were no baked potatoes and I'd have to wait. I was going to just order another side, but our sever walked off. My steak was well done and dry, but I ate it to avoid another lengthy wait. No drink refills and after a couple of requests for a spoon and Tabasco for my husband's beans, we gave up. I never got a baked potato. When our check arrived, it wasn't ours. We weren't the only ones having issues and it wasn't just our server. The table of 4 next to ours waited over an hour for their food and then it was wrong. There are too many restaurants in this area that have both good food and service. Since wife had been gracious and cooked all week figured we would go enjoy dinner out but still wanted home cook'n or kinda close to it. Cotton Patch is a place that offers all the traditional comfort foods that mom would cook if poured from a can or box. Now some of the items like their mashed taters and broccoli cheese rice casserole maybe from scratch and pretty tasty. Tonight we were in he mood to start with full order of the cheddar/bacon fries (had a coupon for freebie) so that is why we went full order instead of 1/2 which is are normal. It is usually plenty for 3 of us plus those HOT fresh yeast rolls. But tonight I would only eat 1/2 of one, that was using all of my New Year's resolution power. My wife was really good she ordered the grilled bar-b-que chicken salad with dressing on the side which was great for her cause there was more than enough bar-b-que sauce for the salad and she moved the tortilla strips over to the side didn't mean she didn't eat a few cause she loves the crunch but she did try and be mindful of her "free form meal plan" you folks in WW know what I mean. Now me on the other hand I cut out a full roll so that I could have the catfish and shrimp combo. They have a 4 piece or 8 piece shrimp meal or so I thought but what they really mean is if you order the 4 piece shrimp you get 2 pieces of catfish. If you order the 8 piece shrimp you get 4 pieces of catfish so keep that in mind its either the 1/2 order or full order. I went 1/2 FRIED yea regretted it later could have gone blackened might have had more flavor. Yea, I am eluding to saying the catfish was really lacking the cornmeal topping was light and alright but when you peeled it away the fish really had no flavor kind of disappointing. Now I mentioned this is 1/2 portion but the meal comes with fries and 2 additional sides so you will get more than enough food. I swapped out my other 2 sides for salad and I was plenty full by the end. I actually left the fries from my plate..(had plenty with bacon/cheddar..YUMMO). One other note our waitress Loren was very nice and attentive our water glasses never got empty and she had a very pleasant smile. The only issue was she speaks very softly so might have to has her to repeat a couple of time...NO I am not hard of hearing no matter what my wife says..all in all it was good night and decent meal. read more

We ordered from here the other night. Second time they have not been able to get our order correct. First time, the Arlington location forgot gravy for all meals and rolls. This time, they left out our queso, salsa, and rolls again. I drove back there and waited about 10 minutes until they would help me. They put me on hold on the phone. The server told me it would be about 10 minutes until my rolls and queso would be ready. Really??? I waited, since I already paid for it. The server brought it out and I returned home. When we opened our queso, it was 1/3 full. There are a lot of other businesses that need help right now. That's horrible customer service!!! You've lost our business. read more

Got a refund next day gave them a 2nd chance they didn't have fried green tomatoes and the order was incorrect.
