We've been going to, not going to, going to again, rinse and repeat for decades. Well, we are definitely in a "going to again" phase now which I don't think is going to end anytime soon. This location, like many in the chain has certainly had its ups and downs but starting about two years ago, something really changed for the better. This iteration has consistently served up very good food with great service and is now back on our regular rotation. The menu is refreshed often and the high quality is very consistent. If you've written off Outback as old news, you're missing out. read more

I always love Outback. It's always good! And while it's certainly not cheap, I really think their menu is affordable, especially considering the quality and consistency of their food. I brought my niece here recently after an outing. She wanted a burger and fries and I know Outback had great burger.. and I was starving and wanted a comfort meal: steak and potatoes! I had the 6 ounce sirloin, a baked potato with everything on it, and a wedge salad. Omg Outback's wedge salad is soooo delicious and perfect. It's huge and super cold and crispy!! It's seriously so big I think it'd be good to share. My steak was extremely flavorful and my potato didn't taste like it'd been sitting out for 10 hours. We were a party of six celebrating a birthday at 5:45PM on a Monday and we practically have the whole place to ourselves! Service was excellent! Generous salads! Tasmanian chili was really good too! Fresh, hot dark pumpernickel bread! The 8oz Victoria steak was cooked exactly as requested! It was almost cut-with-a-fork tender! Excellent flavor! Everyone was very happy with their choices, too! Visiting from out of state and was surprised when we got inside; it's cavernous since so much bigger than on the west coast. I know ... it's Texas, LOL. Greeted warmly with excellent, timely service. The blue cheese chop salad used to be one of my favorites but not anymore. The salad used to be a "chopped salad" with a blue cheese vinaigrette. Now they don't chop the salad and it comes with regular blue cheese dressing. Disappointing. The alice springs chicken was ok. The baked potato which I ordered without salt, had salt all over it. The hubs ordered the bone in ribeye with a sweet potato and broccoli. The steak was very gristly. It was cooked to a perfect medium but unfortunately was not good quality meat. The sweet potato was exceptionally small. The broccoli was fine. The restaurant was clean. Not very many people were there. My rating has nothing to do with the service. Our server was very nice. Typical Outback fare. Service was excellent, comfortable seating in the bar with football on. Food was good, can't go wrong with Kookaburra wings, a couple of side salads and the new 3 cheese steak dip. The dip had a lot of diced steak but needed more cheese to go with it. I used to enjoy Outback. Emphasis on "used to". We arrived during happy hour for drinks and a bloomiń onion. But we couldn't seem to go for five minutes without our waiter wanting to take our dinner order. STOP ALREADY! The beer menu is very lacking, well short of other restaurants. We also ordered a Wallaby Darned, which is basically a peach bellini. It's fine. My wife thought it tasted like she had it before. Well, she had. They served her the wrong drink. She wanted to try the new Koala drink. But they couldn't get the order correct. The only good news was it was only $7. In my opinion, there's much better places to enjoy happy hour, but their bloomiń onion is my best reason to be there. When we finally decided we would stay for dinner, we shared an entrée. Unfortunately, we should have stayed with our original plan to dine elsewhere. We ordered the "new" Reef & Beef Platter, which looked outstanding based on the menu photograph. They described the dish as: "The ultimate trio featuring the best of surf & turf - a tender Victoria's Barrel-Cut Filet Mignon*, grilled shrimp and sea scallops with lemon butter." Well, your mental image of this food is as good as it gets. The scallops were very thin, cookie like. My impression was that a plump scallop was sliced in half. The shrimp were also very small, as well as the baked potato. The saying is, "A picture is worth a thousand words." It's too bad that it was nothing like the picture. Unfortunately, I thought there was no value in ordering that meal. The ambiance is casual and a bit of a cookie-cutter family restaurant that never reached beyond the 1980s. For a large restaurant, it is not very noisy. Overall, our experience wasn't worth the cost. I can not recommend Outback because there are so many better steak houses. read more

We recently gave this steakhouse another shot, despite a disappointing experience with their steak on a previous visit. This time, we played it safe and ordered the chicken and shrimp-- thankfully, it was decent. The shrimp was well-seasoned and slightly overcooked, the chicken, was very tender although the baked potato was hard. Unfortunately, the service experience soured the meal. I requested the AARP discount not once, not twice, but four times -- at the beginning, and repeatedly once we saw there was no discount. Each time, the waiter assured us it was taken care of. But when I reviewed the final bill, the discount was nowhere to be found. At that point, I was too frustrated to argue any further and just paid it. It's a shame, really. The ambiance is nice and the non-steak options are acceptable, but with unreliable service and poor follow-through, I can't justify recommending this place. If you're looking for a good steakhouse, keep looking. read more

We had dinner here Friday 13th The Mgr was required to work behind bar. The bar didn't have glassware to serve drinks in a timely manner. The service was slow! My ribeye was the worst piece of meat I've had in years. It was cooked medium, full of gristle and very hard "very" to cut through it. Personally it was really unacceptable product for a place called steakhouse. Wife had Victoria fillet and it was medium well too well ordered medium, just overcooked for her. Let me say TEXAS ROADHOUSE cost less and 10x's better meat. Bar area is full of regulars & that's nice. They seam to know each other. Wife & I both said don't you hate to pay for a meal like this, you feel cheated! Haven't been in about a year & it was Friday night around 8pm. The place was very quiet! I had a FB ad for a free Bloomin Onion. Glad it was free as it was burnt. I have always ordered Shrimp on the Barbie as my entree. It was awful! The shrimp tasted like they had just been grilled & then someone covered them in a bunch of spices! They were out of KJ Chardonnay & only offer 1 other which wasn't great. Then when the bill came we presented our AARP card only to be told we couldn't use it as we had the free bloomin onion ! My husbands steak was gristly & we boxed most of it up to give to the outside animal ( after washing all the spices off) Sadly doubt we will be going back. read more

Inside dinning in Texas is open at most restaurants. We had a great meal inside this Outback Steakhouse after over 1 year without donning in anywhere, it was great. The same great menu, we order a blooming onion for appetizer of course, 2 kids meals... sirloin steak for 9.99 and cheeseburgers for 6.99 both accompanied by a side and drinks. 3 adult meals a 12 oz prime rib with 2 sides for 17.99, 8oz sirloin with coconut shrimp and 2 sides for 19.99 and 6 oz filet mignon with 2 sides for 20.99 Food was delicious and staff super helpful. Overall disppointed with whole experience. My wife wanted steak and we decoded to go to Outback for the 1st time in probably 20 years. With the temps outside for some reason the A/C was in full blast mold. Guessing it was the INSIDE was in mid 60s or lower. The 1st time the waitress came by O asked ahe talk with the manager as we were FREEZING. After a long wait for our salads, the manager was the one to bring the salads. I asked the A/C be turned off or heat turned on. He "claimed" he just talked with our waitress and supposedly just adjusted the temps. Well hate to say no had been made as the A/C was still blasting cold temps. Remember the temp outside on 12/2923 was upper 40s when we arrived to the restaurant. So NOTHING later could make our dinner experience remotely satisfying. The waitress needs training, we had maybe 4 interactions with her during the fridged hour plus we were in Outback. BTW it looked lole the manager avoided our table to avoid us knowing he did nothing to thebfreezing temperature in the restaurant. The food did nothing to omprove.our experience. I ordered the filet and lobster tail (looked like and overgrown shrimp). Steak was a little undercooked, I asked for medium with pink only. Center had red. There was no flavor, baked potatoe was Luke warm barely melting soft butter after serval minutes. The lobster was satisfactory. My wife ordered the combo of sirloin, grilled shrimp and fettuccine. Her steak was tough and no taste as well. She said the fettuccine was the tasty part of her meal. We also ordered the New Tim Tam Brownie Cake but we had it to go as we wouldn't have enjoyed it had we stayed at the frozen Down Under place. The dessert was good but the to go presentation nothing to brag about. When we are looking for low cost steak meal we will stick to the other national chains of Salt Grass, Texas Roadhouse or even try Logan again. I am wondering if Outback follows the Down Under weather cycle since it is summer in Australia at the time. How else do you explain the temps inside. Our waiter was absolutely phenomenal, there were four of us, and we ordered three steaks, one steak didn't even seem like it was cooked, completely right in the middle when we asked for medium rare, we also asked for two medium well steaks, and they were both medium rare, the cooks burnt one of the steaks, as well as re-cooked two of the steaks. When one of the steaks that was extremely raw was re-cooked, they brought it out and half of the steak was still completely raw. The manager came out to try and help us and tried to argue that the steaks were cooked to what we ordered when they were absolutely we're not. Thankfully they took the steaks off of our bill, but we did not get to eat steak that night. The picture is of one of the "medium well steaks" the medium rare steak was 100x worse!!!! Everything was to my liking. I enjoyed it. EXCEPT Fake blood in your drink is NOT appetizing to most. It does not belong in a restaurant setting. I ordered a "Shirley Temple" and was given a glass of 7UP with a shark figurine with blood in it's mouth (Grenadine Syrup). I was NOT amused. Disappointed in my experience tonight. First time coming to this location. Hostess had a hard time finding an open table. Told my party of two to wait for five minutes so she could go clean a table. She then came and got us and when we sat down, the table was like a pool of water. Waiter took 15 minutes to come take just our drink order. He never asked us if we wanted refills. He did rush us to pay. Such a bad look on this location. Heard manager tell another table he "has just been putting out fires all shift." We started off with the Aussie cheese fries, who doesn't love cheese fries! Next we tried the bloomin onion - think onion rings but Aussie style along with their Gold Coast Rita - which was tasty as well. The house salad was next with a mustard vinegarette and their bread service. Then the chicken and ribs platter came out, the ribs didn't look that visually appealing but they were very tasty - the meat just fell off the bone. The chicken was surprisingly good as well. Next out came the steak and shrimp plate with a baked potato. The coconut shrimp was good, my steak was a bit salty and covered in too much of the garlic butter sauce, it was an under rare to begin with and moved on to medium rare - which is my preference. The baked potato was good, but again too salty for my liking (maybe their a bit too heavy handed with the salt in the kitchen) but I appreciated the loadedness provided for it, more bacon would have been great. Their blonde ale was also served alongside the meat course! Dessert then arrived, which was their chocolate thunder from down under - a flourless pecan brownie with ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce - gluten friendly as well. With their Aussie Rum Punch cocktail, which was my least favourite of the drinks. The staff were really good, they did a great job at pre-bussing and keeping your glass full!! The staff was wonderful. All of the waiters were interested in making sure we had the best experience possible. I really enjoyed conversing with the staff. The dining experience is so much better when the employees chat with you about the items and venue. Let me start the food reviews with the appetizers. The steak quesadillas are pretty good. I was surprised that they did not come with some type of sauce or something to dip them in. They were still good without a sauce. The blooming onion is just as good as it looks. I love the dipping sauce that comes with this appetizer. The batter and sauce has the right amount of zest and the onions have the proper thickness. This is my favorite appetizer any where. The creamy shrimp scampi dip was not that good in my opinion. The highlights is that there was a pretty good amount of shrimp. The low points is that the dish was overpowered with lemon flavoring and it was hard using the chips to scoop out the dip. They should think about serving the dip with bread cubes. Next, I will review the drinks. The Bloomin Blonde Ale is a tasty ale. Not bad yet not spectacular. Homefront Hero Cocktail was very good. The Watermelon Rita had a strong syrup taste. I wouldn't mind having any of the drinks again. Now, on to the dinner section. The house salad was not good. It was too cold and I did not have enough dressing. After sampling the appetizers, I really didn't want to finish the salad anyway. The grilled shrimp is amazing. The shrimp is cooked to perfection and comes with your choice of three sauces: teriyaki, garlic butter, and bbq. Garlic butter was my favorite but none of the sauces are bad. The steak is amazing. The steak came as medium rare and it was seasoned to perfection. I did not need any sauce with my steak. I did not care for the mashed potatoes. Not that the mashed potatoes were bad but I was already full. Now for dessert. I got to sample the cheesecake which comes with your choice of sauce: chocolate, raspberry, and salted caramel. It has been awhile since we've been to OS. We took our 3 young grandchildren there after church yesterday. I was looking forward to having their seared Ahi Tuna so I looked for it first. I saw that it cost $17.99! It was $9.99 the last time we were there a few years ago. I refuse to pay $17.99 for a few pieces of Ahi. I ordered the Salmon with Rice and a cup of potato soup instead of the veggies. The rice was NOT GOOD. I'm not sure what they put in it but they should change the recipe. Even my 9 year old granddaughter who will eat anything and loves rice said it wasn't good. The salmon was pretty good. The potato soup was just so so. I think our family of 3 grandchildren were happy with their meals. Hubby said Shrimp was just ok. I doubt we'll return to Outback. I usually went in solely for the Ahi Tuna. That's out now. A really great new location! Not as dark and crowded feeling as other locations I've been too. Really cool tables where you could slide together or leave apart. Plus the service at this location has been outstanding compared to other locations. Orders were correct, out quick and refills plentiful. Our server was named Jacob and he was great, I recommend him for everyone! He was super knowledgeable about different drink options, what the seasonal items are, and what was good!
