I visited Corso Italian for my birthday dinner and left with very mixed feelings. My partner noted on the reservation that it was my birthday, and upon arriving the hostess greeted me with a warm "happy birthday," which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that was the only acknowledgment I received for the rest of the evening, which was a little disappointing for a special occasion dinner. Since my birthday fell on a Wednesday, we decided to try their date night deal and added a few appetizers. The arancini was exactly what you want from a classic arancini. Crispy on the outside, cheesy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the Vodka Parm and honestly found it underwhelming. The sauce tasted much more like a standard marinara than a vodka sauce, and the spaghetti itself was completely lacking seasoning. Meanwhile, my partner ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and his dish was fantastic. The meatballs were flavorful, the sauce had depth, and overall it was a much better execution. The standout dish of the entire night was easily the gamberi fritti. The shrimp was fried perfectly, and the sauce with the lemon, garlic, and aromatics was unbelievable. I would genuinely return for that dish alone. To end the night, we had the tiramisu and it was excellent. Drinks throughout the evening were also very well done. We tried a mix from both the seasonal and classic cocktail menus and enjoyed everything we ordered. Service overall was just okay. Beyond the initial greeting, no one really made me feel celebrated for my birthday. At one point I also asked to switch from tap water to bottled water, but the server never returned with it, so I just stuck to cocktails for the remainder of dinner. Despite the inconsistencies, there were enough highlights that I'd still be willing to come back and give Corso Italian another shot.

We opted for the All-You-Can-Mangia (weekends, 10am to 3pm) menu and it was communicated that we could only order two dishes per person at a time. Wasn't an issue as this prevents food waste. We managed to indulge in 12 different dishes with the berry bowl being our favorite. So good that I need to recreate this dish at home. It was the perfect day to sit outside and was in food heaven!!! Amazing food and drinks, with top notch customer service. My go to for the best martini in Shirlington.

Loved trying Corso's Thursday night girl's dinner deal! For only $29, my friends and I got to try a drink and two small plates each (served on a silver platter and with a conversation card which was such a cute touch). I especially enjoyed my dirty martini (strong and smooth), and the Calabrian meatballs. I appreciated that they also had non-alcoholic options, like a Virgin Bellini. I want to come back and try their homemade pasta!! The location is so lovely, with a vintage Italian feel - you can even pick up a bottle after dinner from their market!

I checked out Corso Italian with my homegirl for happy hour and their $5 Teeny Tuesday and it was definitely a good time. They only have about 12 seats at the bar so it fills up really quickly. We started at a table and ordered drinks, but one thing to know is that happy hour is only at the bar. As soon as two seats opened up we moved right over. Happy hour runs from 3 to 7 and you can get $9 drinks from a pretty extensive selection. They also have $5 snacks which are perfect to go with your drinks. I really enjoyed the meatballs and my friend loved the mussels. The $5 martinis for Teeny Tuesday were a hit too. Overall great vibes good drinks and a solid happy hour spot just make sure you come early if you want to grab a seat at the bar.

Update (Feb 20, 2026) - Received a very nice email from the owner, Jill, and I am increasing review by one star for that reason (responsiveness by management.) And I will just suggest for now to talk to the waiter/waitress about the main portion size, then order according to hunger level. But if a main arrives and still too small, then consider sending it back to the kitchen. (Feb 14,2026, 3 Stars) Hint: Never do their Prix Fix menu. EVER! Came in for Valentine's Day, making a reservation through open table. Easy enough, find they're doing a "sort of" prix fix meal with choices, so decide to try it. Party of three, wife, teen & I. Ambiance is ok, seated near the bar, reasonable noise level, Movie "Italian Job" on the TV, few stale breadstick circles & water... lets order. Started with Caesar salad that was a chopped salad on the smallish size. Dressing was ok, bit of parm, I get a drink, as does rest of fam. (3x$15 for rail drinks -Hint: stick with the basics, not their house drinks, you're better off. A blood orange is not a navel orange with maraschino cherry juice stain.) Mains come, oxtail ravioli is ok, but it's a really small serving. 7 pastas. Heart shaped, sure. Cute. Decent tasting. But that's it? Pass the powdered breadsticks. Teen got the steak, at +15$ over the $49 cost ($64!) , I'd say that was the only decent sized serving. And it was tender & a correct medium rare. So kudos on that one, chef. (But don't get cocky.) Dessert. A sliver of a cheesecake with some weak cherry drizzle that didn't taste like anything. Seriously, this was a piece of Mrs. Smith's cheesecake cut for like 16 people. Candy toppings did not work for me... sorry. The chocolate mousse my wife had at least was very good, and served in a nice tulip shaped chocolate edible cup. Glad the wife & teen got those instead of my cheesecake. Bill comes. $230 (!), before tip. Waiter was ok, so sure, decent tip earned. Also, not going to make a scene on Valentines Day... But holy smoleys... for 3 people? For that? I could have gotten two weeks groceries, with better outcome, alcohol & better tasting premade salads from a buffet salad bar. I think they took advantage of the occasion to jack up their prices. But if this is their new norm... they're not gonna last long. Because I walked away very "unimpressed." Taste was good... but not that good. (I had to eat a burger when I got home- I was that hungry afterwards.)

Great Italian restaurant in Arlington. Parking. Can be a little trick but it worth it. It was my first visit and we were warmly greeted when we walked through the door. I knew the service here would be sublime. The conversation of the dinner and ambient lighting gave the restaurant an inviting atmosphere. Corso Italian offer a wonderful array of food options. I had oxtail ravioli, broccolini and it was divine. You a tasty the care on the food. Everything was fresh and tasty.

Had an hour to kill while in Arlington today so I searched for a good happy hour and this place popped up. Italian is one of my favorite type of cuisines so I was excited to try their happy hour. They have a apertivo hour from 3-7 at the bar which includes food and drink. They actually have $5 bar bites which is unheard of these days. The bar is small with limited seating so plan accordingly. I arrived early and was able to secure a seat. The space is small and intimate and had very cute decorations for Valentine's Day. It was quiet and is definitely a great spot for date night. They have a great pasta menu as well do I decided to take some oxtail ravioli to go. Will let you know how it is! Oops! I also ordered the muscle and clams and arancini for happy hour and somehow forgot to take pictures.

Slightly upscale Italian restaurant with homemade pasta in addition to a variety of other Italian dishes I came here for dinner with my fiance and we split an order of focaccia bread, a caesar salad, a Vodka chicken parm, and a slice of hazelnut cheesecake. The only impressive thing about the meal was the portion size of the Vodka chicken parm. Our server was very friendly as well On the InKind app, which you can use to save 20% of your bill

    Espresso Martini and Corso Sour
    Danie M.

I've been to Corso Italian for both dinner and brunch, and I have to say, dinner wins. The ambiance at night is especially beautiful; romantic, intimate, and perfect for a date. Paired with top-notch service, it really feels like a full experience. For dinner, we ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, which was rich and hearty with a slow-simmered meat sauce that clung perfectly to the pasta, and the Lasagna, layered beautifully with tender pasta, creamy cheese, and a deep, comforting flavor. For drinks, the Corso Sour was smooth and well-balanced with a slight citrusy edge, while the Espresso Martini was bold, velvety, and perfectly executed. Brunch was a different vibe but still fun. We did the all-you-can-mangia, $29 for unlimited small plates plus a main, which is such a good deal if you come hungry. For drinks, we tried the Pinkie, Nutella, Tiramisu, and Affogato martinis. Honestly, all of them were great, but the Pinkie Martini was the standout; light, refreshing, and dangerously easy to keep ordering. Food-wise, the Eggs Benedicto was good but could've used a bit more seasoning. The Eggs in Purgatory, though, completely stole the show; rich, flavorful, and something I'd go back for on its own. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for dinner for the full ambiance and experience, but brunch is still worth it, especially if you grab a seat at the bar and indulge in their martinis.

    Mushroom gnocchi

A nice meal in a nice setting. We arrived with a reservation (Reservations a must at dinner) and were promptly seated. A cup of seasoned taralli was brought to the table to snack on as we looked over the menu. These were tasty and peppery. Cocktails were delivered quickly. Wife noted that while the server did not offer or inquire about liquor brand (no up-sell attempted) whatever was used in her vodka tonic was very good. And the extra lime she requested was also accommodated. My iced tea was fresh and good. Food -- flavors were very good. My friend's mushroom gnocchi was executed perfectly, with a subtle flavor of the mushrooms incorporated into the tender gnocchi and the stronger hit of flavor from the surrounding shrooms themselves. My riggatoni alla bolognese was just heaven in a sauce. While I prefer my pasta a tad more cooked than al dente I cannot complain that the riggatoni was cooked to "the standard." My wife's oxtail ravioli tasted amazing. Unfortunately the ravioli themselves were very tough and should have been cooked longer. Wait staff was just a tad less attentive than would be expected, nothing serious -- our party had to flag her down to get a second glass of wine, for instance. And none of us recalled being asked about the food once it arrived. But there was ample attention given to things like water, fresh parmesan, and taking care of the bill. Ambiance - upscale pretty inside. Noise level - VERY loud. Parking was available in nearby decks at no charge in the evenings, available for patrons of all the local businesses in the two block district.

Tried Corso for the first time last night. We've been big fans of Cheesetique for years, so we were excited to give this a shot. We had the whipped ricotta to start--the cheese was delightful and the focaccia on the side was excellent. I didn't love the lemon zest on top of the cheese, would ask for without that next time. Huge portion though, good for sharing. For entrees we did the rigatoni bolognese and the spaghetti and meatball. Both were excellent--sauces with depth, perfectly cooked pasta, good portions. I loved being able to add a burrata on top. Service was good as well. Just be cautious of where you are seated--we were near the front and got a blast of cold air every time the door was opened. There was a heater that helped, but it was still a distraction the whole meal. We will definitely be back!

Took a chance on this place after reading the reviews and so glad we did! We tried Corso Italian during Arlington Restaurant Week and it was such a nice surprise. The food was amazing -- we ordered the white pesto rigatoni, rigatoni alla bolognese, French fries, and the housemade focaccia, and everything was really well done and flavorful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which really helped set the mood and made the experience even better. The interior is also super charming and cozy. Definitely worth checking out -- we'll be back!

A Modo Mio offers many food specials. For example, on Tuesdays, that's when we stopped there for…read moredinner, all their pasta dishes are 1/2 price. However, given that they ranked 32nd among this country's top 50 Pizza restaurants, I had to order a pizza. And I'll get to my pizza after I discuss some other things, because it all plays together. Also, during my visit, I kept drawing comparisons between this place and Pupatella, a local Neapolitan pizza juggernaut. The Big Question to answer is why A Modo Mio got a spot on the Top 50 while Pupatella didn't even make the cut. Access is easy, and parking is good. There are lots of spaces that wrap around the restaurant. That's in contrast to Pupatell, which has limited parking and where I always wind up using the Safeway lot across the street. The restaurant is clean and spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating. It also has a long, well-stocked bar where you can sit to enjoy a beverage or a meal. Pupatella doesn't have any of that. When you arrive, you're greeted by a host who shows you to your seat. A very short while later, a waiter shows up and does all the things waiters do. At Pupatella, you wait in line to place your order, then find an open table. TLDR: Your dining experience, outside of the food, is much more civilized and relaxing at A Modo Mio. The pie that earned their 32 out of 50 ranking was the Sicilia. But I ordered a 12" Casertana because I'm not crazy about eggplant and like sausage. The pie arrived a short while later, piping hot and loaded with sausage. The taste was sublime and delicious. My only complaint was that the basil was added before baking, and I prefer that herb when it's not reduced to ash. So back to The Big Question, is the A Modo Mio pizza *that* much better than Pupatella that it earned a spot amongst the Top 50 while the other one didn't even make the cut? Frankly, it's not. It is good pizza... possibly great pizza. But that's also true of the other place. What sets A Modo Mio apart from that other place, and the answer to the Big Question, is that the criteria for generating the Top 50 list included more than the pizza. It also took into account: - Hospitality and Service - Ambiance - Beverage Program. Beyond the pizza, A Modo Mio has those things in abundance, while the other place pretty much has none. TLDR: Comparing pizzas side by side, the two places are on par. However, if you take into account the entire dining experience, you will be much happier with your pizza here, as opposed to that other place or most other pizza restaurants in the DMV area.

But to be honest... even with "fork and knife pizza" the toppings should not be goopy and slippery. Does the best pie and Arlington hold like that on the regular? Nothing special about the toppings either. The crust and dough were the best part of this experience, but an amazing pie, should have all component's complimenting each other. Is it decent pizza? Yes. Best pizza in Arlington? I don't think so.

When I had ordered previously, I always found that my pie was not ready and I had to wait. Each time, I waited a bit longer, and each time, still not ready. So, this time, ordered my pizza before 9:00 PM and did not depart immediately -- but instead waited a full 20 minutes before even walking there slow. When I arrived, the pizza was..... still not ready. It occurs to me that this shop is situated in a time zone that is somehow TEN MINUTES BEHIND the time your order is due. The guy says "five minutes." In any case, I stand, I wait.... and I.... wait some more. It wasn't five minutes. Lots of workers standing. Nearing the 9:30 mark, someone finally says "have you been helped?" And whadda ya know? Found out the reason I was still waiting - BECAUSE MY PIE WAS SITTING THERE THE WHOLE DAMN TIME! Getting cold. She says "we're just getting that cut up." But they weren't - it was already cut. They took one of their old pies off the rack and slid it right into a box. It wasn't in the oven. I could feel it was cold, but yes, I took it and went home. I can't say you couldn't eat it but.... it wasn't good. We did eat some of it, but only after baking it in my own oven. Good thing I ordered in advance, eh? If you are going to do a take out here, my advice would be to skip ordering altogether, and just go there and get the slices yourself. They won't be too fresh, but at least it will be fast. Better yet, go across the street to Quincy Hall, (or over to Wise Guys) where they will bake the pizza to order and have it hot and ready when you arrive. Keep in mind here they charge $32 for a pizza, full price only. NOT worth it, won't be back, do not recommend.

Our server, Nico, was outstanding! He offered excellent recommendations on both food and wine, and delivered service that was professional, prompt, and genuinely delightful. We arrived as strangers but left feeling like family -- that's the magic of Filomena's. I highly recommend Filomena's for truly authentic Italian cuisine. Easter is my favorite--it reminds me so much of my grandmother's house, with beautiful decorations and rabbits tucked into every corner. It makes the whole experience feel nostalgic and special. The food is just as memorable as the atmosphere. Our family ordered the lasagna, chicken Parmesan, and lobster ravioli, and every dish was outstanding. The portions are generous, the pasta is delicious, and everything tastes homemade. If you're in Georgetown, Filomena's is a must-visit. Between the incredible food, festive décor, and cozy atmosphere, it's a place we look forward to coming back to every time we're in town.
