Not trying to be a parrot but when you come to Landini Brothers it's hard not to trumpet what others have said, this place is really good. From the service to the ambiance to the full bar, let alone the menu, this place is very good. I had the Linguini Vogole and it was heavenly. The baby clams and garlic seasoned pasta was just perfect (see photo). My wife had the same as I did and other had Chicken Parmesan and they said it was outstanding. Had a cannoli and it was like having one on the North Side of Boston, light and creamy. So good! If you want a good Italian meal while in Northern Virginia make the trip to Landini Brothers, you will not be disappointed.

'Tis was the night before Christmas when we decided to go here after driving around Vienna to look at Christmas lights. After confirming they are open, we took our time driving to Old Town Alexandria to have our late dinner. The place was packed! We were told that since we didn't have a reservation, we would have to wait 30 to 35 minutes, which we were willing to wait. Sitting on a barstool, I was looking around to see what these diners are doing, and why are there so many people at this restaurant, at this hour. Then it struck me: they are here to eat after going to a Christmas service at their church. Twenty minutes later, we were escorted and seated. Our table was darker than I would like to be, but I was able to turn on my phone's camera to look at the menu. A lot of great options. Plenty to choose from for this 9PM dinner. After convincing my brother we should share our food, we ordered an escargot dish as an appetizer, Caesar salad, Chilean sea bass for entrée, and for dessert, no sharing! The appetizer dish came with four escargots stuffed in four flour mini tubes. Because we were expecting this dish to come in the actual shells, we were confused by what we saw. For the money we paid and what we got, I would not order this again. It was bland, and felt I was eating more of the mini tube, the flour, then the actual escargot. Our next dish was a salad, the Caesar salad. This salad deserves a lot of more write up than just your basic Caesar salad. The salad was split into two portions. Both portions had the dressing mixed into the romaine lettuce, and the croutons came in a separate cup. I thought the dressing that they used was perfectly mixed: not too little nor too much where you would feel overwhelmed. I enjoyed this salad quite a bit. This will be an item that I would order again and again. After eating the escargot and salad dishes, the waitstaff clear our dishes and made room for our entrée, which was the Chilean sea bass. Taking my portion and splitting the sides of potatoes and broccolinis, my mouth was watering for more fish after eating the first bite. Wow! The fish was perfectly cooked. I barely touch my fork when the small portion fell from the fillet. The fillet melted in my mouth, and the first couple of bites had my regret for not ordering and eating this by myself. Kudos to the chef for making this dish unforgettable. Our final order were the two desserts. My key lime pie was okay, but the graham cracker crust was a little harder to cut through, so I left some of it in my plate. My brother dessert, which was a lemon gelato with limoncello liquor added, served in a fancy flute, was good. Overall, my dining experience was an A-.

I had a work-holiday dinner here with a set menu so we were seated in the upstairs wine room with its own private bar. Started off with shared apps for the table, a personal Caesar salad, a choice of entree, and 2 items for dessert. Customer service 4/5 Appetizers: Burrata bruschetta with tomatoes 3/5 -bread was too hard, not enough dressing or cheese Meat balls in red sauce 5/5 -it was so soft, delicious Entree: Braised short rib w/mushroom risotto 5/5 -SUPER tender Dessert: Tiramisu+Cannoli 5/5 Drink: Espresso martini 4/5 -only complaint was no coffee beans but taste was there

Friendly service and great food. We both got pasta dishes and the flavor was on point. My fiancé got the penne alla romana and I enjoyed the ravioli. We also ordered red wine which had great body and depth. I would return to try more items on the menu.

Food was very good, got a table fast for a warm Saturday night, nice ambiance but the real star of this restaurant are the waiters! Very attentive, helpful and had a lot of charm. You can tell they care about their jobs!

Servers are very nice and accommodating. The place looks very exquisite and romantic for a date. However, for the price of the food, I didn't find anything extraordinary. The oysters were fresh, but can be pricey. The steak is a very good portion, but I am not a big fan of the burnt spices which made it bitter. My bf got a seafood pasta, and while the portion is already great, it came a little bit oilier than expected. Overall good experience.

Overall, the food was well-cooked and authentic, but I had small nitpicks with both the food and the service. We arrived at opening time on a Sunday and made a reservation the night before as a precautionary, but when we walked in, the restaurant was not busy at all. We started with a Pate e Robiola crostini as an appetizer. They brought out with complimentary bread & whipped butter to start off our meal, which was lovely. Unfortunately, I personally didn't like the Pate e Robiola too much, as it was very creamy and fatty. We ordered a Penne alla Romana to split between two people - the service was very attentive and split both the pasta and the accompanying Caesar Salad into two portions for us! I LOVED the Caesar salad! The veggies were sweet and crispy and the dressing was umami and salty in all the right ways. The Penne alla Romana was cooked perfectly al dente but the sauce was a little bland. There was salt and pepper on the table to the dish which helped the flavor of the dish immensely. My only small complaint is that while they split the pasta dish into two, we were charged for the dinner rate of the dish instead of the lunch rate. Other complaint is that we ordered a side of pesto risotto but the waiter forgot about it, but we didn't get charged for it so it ended up being okay. Ideally, I would've liked to try it but at that point, we had been in the restaurant for almost an hour and had to leave for something else. The service in terms of getting the food out was pretty slow, but the attentiveness to water refills and clearing away plates was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Italian food and you have a good chunk of time (maybe up even two hours!) to enjoy your meal.

Came here for my anniversary and made a reservation ahead of time requesting a nice table with possibly a view. We were sat in the corner kinda smushed up against the wall and our table was noticeably very small for the amount of food, glasses, and wine chiller. The table that was sitting next to us was very loud and drunk (no fault of the restaurant's) which made the first half of dinner kind of a nuisance! Overall, the place was very busy for a week night so I'm glad I reserved a table. The food was absolutely delicious and I'm glad our server recommended the half portion of calamari for just the 2 of us. We ordered the caesar, Penne alla Romana, and my favorite-- the Scaloppine di Vitello ai Funghi. Complimentary tiramisu was also delicious and made us feel special. :)

Heard a lot of good things about this place but unfortunately was disappointed. My girlfriend's pasta was unfortunately overcooked to the point where she wasn't able to eat any of it. The only thing I actually did like was my dish, the ring pasta with veal. Everything else was alright. Although the waiter was very friendly and offered great service!! Service: Food: Ehh

2.5 Service was very attentive. We were originally seated in the back room and it smelled heavily of cigar. After we inquired, the hostess mentioned the attached cigar lounge, said it was abnormal (others have also said you cannot smell it), and offered us a table in the front dining room that did not have the odor. The ambiance felt mediocre. I think the bar area is fun, but the back room felt dingy. Food entrees were fine, but felt tired. A lot of veal on the menu. 1 pasta option for the vegetarian with us. The did not freshly grate the Parmesan. The desserts were disappointing. We could not figure out why the chocolate cake was $18 - pricing was inconsistent.

Yes, eat here, do ittt. When we saw the plates being served, we were like "dang, what huge portions, can't wait to have leftovers." However, the dishes were so tasty that we ate and left no crumbs, we couldn't hold back. Each of the dishes were rich with flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The veal Parmesan was surprisingly tender and was a great match for the broccolini. The clams and muscle binache dish was perfect for someone like myself who craves seafood all the time. The ambiance was exceptional, felt like an elevated traditional Italian place. The server had a very thick Italian accent, so he was the real deal. He also hooked it up since we were celebrating a bday which we are quite thankful for. Will definitely be back.

I would give a 5 star, but the wait for the food was a bit long. The place was crowed on a cold windy night and the ambiance was nice. The pasta that we all had was very tasty and delicious. I would definitely come back and eat here again.

They offer a solid menu with weekday specials and discounts, which is a plus. We started with appetizers: the Caesar salad was good, but the meatballs were a miss. They came in a white sauce instead of the traditional red, were very small, and lacked flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the rigatoni. It looked great and arrived hot, but the flavor just wasn't there. The pasta was slightly chewy and not quite al dente. I added cracked pepper and ate some, but ended up taking most of it home hoping it might improve with a little extra seasoning the next day. My brother had the chicken parmigiana, and my sister ordered the branzino--both said their meals were just okay. None of us were particularly impressed. That said, the restaurant has strong reviews, so this may have just been an off night. One last note: please turn up the lights. The dim, moody lighting might be trendy, but at 7 PM on a weekday--especially with a crowd that's largely over 40--it just felt too dark. When guests are using their phone flashlights to read the menu, it's a bit much. Overall, a decent experience, but not one that wowed us.

I expected longer wait times for seating and food, and I was prepared to be patient. However, what I did not anticipate was a complete breakdown in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Having worked in the restaurant industry, it was clear that the issues extended beyond the kitchen. A back-of-house "crash" of this magnitude is typically the result of broader operational failures, including front-of-house management. It appeared that reservations were significantly overbooked without adequate planning for the volume. On a day like Mother's Day, full capacity should be expected, and systems should be in place to manage that demand effectively. At a minimum, there should have been proactive communication with guests regarding delays, allowing them the option to adjust their plans. Additionally, basic service standards--such as keeping water glasses filled and bread baskets stocked--were not maintained. The serving staff seemed overwhelmed and unsupported, which ultimately reflects a lack of clear direction from management. During our visit, we even observed a large party leave due to the experience. I genuinely felt for our server, who appeared to be doing their best under difficult circumstances. Without directly requesting specific items and even ordering from the bar myself, the experience would have been significantly worse. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations either. The seafood pasta, in particular, was underwhelming in both quality and presentation--featuring minimal seafood and inconsistent preparation. At the price point, I would expect a much higher standard. The chicken Parmesan felt like cardboard and was just as thin. The cod with peas tasted exactly like the frozen cod I get from Costco. Calamari never came, which we had no idea about. No option to get anything else. If the restaurant does not have the infrastructure to handle high-volume days at a consistent level of quality, it may be worth reconsidering reservation limits or adjusting service expectations accordingly. While I understand the desire to maximize business on a busy holiday, the long-term impact of disappointed guests may outweigh the short-term gains. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as no guest should have the experience we did. And no we did not accept any free dessert, which I felt was a completely tone def to the experience we had.

Unfortunately, that was the only acknowledgment I received for the rest of the evening, which was a little disappointing for a special occasion dinner. Since my birthday fell on a Wednesday, we decided to try their date night deal and added a few appetizers. The arancini was exactly what you want from a classic arancini. Crispy on the outside, cheesy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the Vodka Parm and honestly found it underwhelming. The sauce tasted much more like a standard marinara than a vodka sauce, and the spaghetti itself was completely lacking seasoning. Meanwhile, my partner ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and his dish was fantastic. The meatballs were flavorful, the sauce had depth, and overall it was a much better execution. The standout dish of the entire night was easily the gamberi fritti. The shrimp was fried perfectly, and the sauce with the lemon, garlic, and aromatics was unbelievable. I would genuinely return for that dish alone. To end the night, we had the tiramisu and it was excellent. Drinks throughout the evening were also very well done. We tried a mix from both the seasonal and classic cocktail menus and enjoyed everything we ordered. Service overall was just okay. Beyond the initial greeting, no one really made me feel celebrated for my birthday. At one point I also asked to switch from tap water to bottled water, but the server never returned with it, so I just stuck to cocktails for the remainder of dinner. Despite the inconsistencies, there were enough highlights that I'd still be willing to come back and give Corso Italian another shot.

I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which was wonderful and my friends ordered other varieties of pasta dishes. I would definitely come back for a happy hour at some point. The issue for this place was the service. Some of my friends who were sharing received their eggplant Parmesan quickly but then none of our food came out and they already finished their meal and we still didn't receive our food. There was little to no apology and we weren't even offered any extra bread even to compensate us. They did have a large party and places are understaffed, but we could have been checked up on, even for a minute. Overall, I'd come back for happy hour, but not for dinner.
